    What Is a Private Tokyo Tour Like for an Overseas Visitor? A Licensed Guide's Report 1. Young people prefer not to have children worldwide. The 40s are the new 30s and the 30s are the new 20s, with people getting married later all over the world, because children's educational expenses are costly. 2. The guest owns a business and was heading to a destination in North America for work. The guest sells firearms and owns ten of them, noting that in their home region a person can have a gun from the age of 12 under parental guidance. 3. We talked about how the hunting season starts in November in Japan. The guest asked what is hunted here—wild boars and bears—and why boars, and I explained it relates to deforestation. 4. The guest commutes about 40 minutes to work in their home region. 5. Unlike here, the guest noted that trains back home are not as clean and that there are crimes inside them. 6. We discussed how Tokyo is the capital, and how the Imperial Palace is maintained in its old form, while the surrounding streets are concrete and modernized. The guest explained that in their home region the capital city has little more than government buildings, while people gravitate to the larger cities.

    What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Day Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report from Hamarikyu to Asakusa The guests were visiting from Europe. They seemed very knowledgeable about world affairs. Since it was close to the terminal, I first took the guests to Hamarikyu Gardens. Some late-blooming cherry blossoms still remained, and they seemed to enjoy this oasis in the middle of the city. As the East Gardens were closed, at the Imperial Palace I guided them around the exterior views, including the Marunouchi area. Since they were interested in tea rooms, at the end of the tour I took them to a shop in Asakusa where they could experience matcha. I had made a reservation for 2:00 PM the day before, and as there were no other participants, it was almost like having the place to ourselves. Because of this, it took less time than expected, and I was able to accompany them for shopping afterward as well. Since they wished to stay in Asakusa and explore on their own, we parted ways in front of the shop. Also, considering the return trip from Asakusa to the cruise terminal, I had them purchase a one-day pass at Shimbashi Station, and we traveled by subway except for the Yurikamome line.

    I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.

The weather was fine, and everyone in the group enjoyed the sightseeing energetically and cheerfully. After Meiji Shrine, we had originally planned to stop by Shibuya, but since they had already visited it the day before, we changed the plan and instead enjoyed a stroll along Takeshita Street and Omotesando. I then accompanied them to Ginza, where they planned to have dinner, and we parted ways there.

    Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Hamarikyu, and Asakusa The guests were visitors from Africa who arrived in Japan via a transit hub in Asia. Since I had informed them in advance that the Keihin-Tohoku Line and the Yamanote Line would be suspended for construction on the day, after arriving at Narita in the morning they took the Narita Express to Tokyo and then took a taxi to check in at their hotel. After resting for only about an hour, we started the tour at 12:30. As they had just arrived, I was concerned about jet lag, but they said they were fine and were very energetic. We reconfirmed the itinerary we had agreed upon in advance and set off. We first visited Meiji Shrine, where they listened attentively to explanations about the etiquette of visiting a shrine. We took commemorative photos in front of the camphor trees and other spots. We also happened to come across a wedding, and they were very interested in the groom's formal montsuki hakama and the bride's white shiromuku attire. We then moved on to Hamarikyu Gardens. Since there was a tree resembling one that appears in Harry Potter, we took commemorative photos in front of it. I mentioned that there is also a Warner Bros. Studio for Harry Potter in Japan, but as they had already visited the one in London, they decided to skip it this time. Since we were running slightly ahead of schedule, I added a visit to the Tsukiji Outer Market, which they had mentioned wanting to see beforehand depending on the timing, and we walked there. They showed interest in ichigo daifuku, but since payment was cash only, they had to give it up. We then moved to Asakusa. After visiting Senso-ji, one of the guests said they had a headache and wanted to buy pain medicine, so I guided them to a nearby drugstore. They also expressed a wish to visit a 24-hour shop selling souvenirs that they had seen on social media, and when I asked more about it, it turned out to be Don Quijote, so I guided them to the nearby Don Quijote Asakusa store. Afterward, I accompanied them to Jimbocho Station, the nearest station to their hotel, and we parted at the station. It was their first visit to Japan, with a plan to spend time in Tokyo, then move to Kyoto, for a total trip of about nine days including the final departure day. They had been looking forward to seeing the cherry blossoms, but unfortunately the season had already ended in Tokyo. I let them know that they could still see them if they traveled to the Tohoku region, but since the latter half of their trip was to Kyoto, it seemed unlikely this time. They mentioned that many of their friends want to visit Japan, and it was a pleasure to receive the kind comment that they would be happy to recommend this guided tour when their friends come, bringing the tour to a close.

    Title: What Is a Private Nara Day Tour from Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The weather was fine on the day of the tour, and the temperature rose quite a bit, making it very hot. The guests had arrived in Osaka from Europe the day before. One of the guests mentioned still feeling a bit of jet lag, but there was no sign of it, and they spent the whole day energetically. The tour proceeded at an unexpectedly slow pace. This was because the guests had just arrived in Japan, so they took many photos at each place we visited and looked around at a leisurely pace. In particular, they enjoyed the deer along the approach to Nara Park and Kasuga Taisha Shrine. The guests were also very modest and polite. They responded to various services by saying "arigato gozaimasu" in Japanese, which was very pleasant. Finally, this tour was originally arranged as "departing from and returning to Kyoto," but since the guests were staying in Osaka, it actually became "departing from and returning to Osaka." As I live in Nara, either arrangement is fine for me, but I hope this did not cause any inconvenience.

    What's a 6-Hour Private Sapporo Tour Like Before an Airport Departure? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Because we had packed many destinations into a 6-hour tour, and because they needed to head straight to New Chitose Airport as soon as the tour ended, we decided not to have lunch at a restaurant. Instead, they had only a light snack along the way, which allowed us to secure more time for sightseeing. They had hoped to see cherry blossoms at Hokkaido Shrine, but it was not yet the season for the blossoms to open. However, when I guided them to a spot with plum trees, they were delighted to see the flowers just beginning to bloom, even if only a little. At each destination, they listened to my explanations with great interest, which made guiding them very rewarding. At Shiroi Koibito Park, they watched the cookie-making process very intently, and it was memorable that they showed more interest than any guests I had guided before. At the Sapporo Beer Museum as well, they eagerly viewed the exhibits within the limited time we had.

    Title: Can You Do a Private Day Trip to Kamakura from Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was visiting Japan for the first time, having traveled from North America. The guest is originally from North America and currently resides in North America. Originally this was to have been a trip with a friend, but the friend was unable to travel for health reasons, so it became a solo trip. The guest was staying in Japan for about three weeks, arriving at Kansai Airport by air from Asia, then touring Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Hida-Takayama, and Shirakawa-go before coming to Tokyo. Before arriving in Japan, the guest had visited Oceania, and after leaving Japan planned to visit Oceania again as well as various parts of Southeast Asia, for a total of about three months of international travel. The guest mentioned having traveled to about 90 countries so far, and that this was a long overseas trip to celebrate retirement. The next day, the guest planned a day trip to Mount Fuji. The tour took place under cloudy skies with occasional strong winds. First, we went from Kamakura Station to Kotoku-in and the Great Buddha of Kamakura. Since it was early in the morning, we were able to enter smoothly without much of a wait. However, on the way out it was extremely crowded with many tourists. In the car on the way to Kamakura, I explained "the history of Kamakura," "the history of Edo and Tokyo," "the feudal system," "the Meiji Restoration," and other topics. I also explained "Buddhism and Shinto." There were questions such as "Do all Japanese people believe in Buddhism?" and "What other religions do people follow?" The guest also went inside the Great Buddha and said, "Now I understand well how the Great Buddha was made." The guest also commented, "The Great Buddha in Nara is certainly large and impressive, but being indoors it is somewhat dark and you can't clearly see its expression. In that respect, the Kamakura Great Buddha is outdoors and you can read its expression, and I prefer this one." We moved on to Hasedera. The guest said, "The garden within the temple is wonderful. I would like to create a garden like this at my own home." We returned to Kamakura Station and walked to Zeniarai Benzaiten. The guest seemed a little tired from the steep slope. After arriving, the guest actually placed their coins in the basket to wash them and seemed satisfied. The guest said, "I visited many shrines and temples in Kyoto as well, but this place is unique and interesting." We walked back to Kamakura Station again and strolled along Komachi Street. For some reason it was overflowing with many groups of tourists. Along the way, we stopped at a café for a break and had lunch. After that, we went to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. It was a day when "Yabusame" (horseback archery) was being held, so there was a huge crowd. We managed to climb up to the main hall and pay our respects. We returned to Kamakura Station and took the train to Kita-Kamakura Station. We strolled through Meigetsu-in and Engaku-ji. The guest said, "It's quiet and calming. I don't really like crowds." From Kita-Kamakura Station we headed to Tokyo Station. The guest commented, "Japan is very safe. I'd like to come back again," "There is no litter in the streets," "I don't see any homeless people," and "Everyone is polite." The guest also commented, "The trains, subways, and other transport networks are sophisticated," "It's quiet inside the trains. No one is chatting," and "The public restrooms are clean." I saw the guest off to Tokyo Station and we parted ways.

    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

    What Is a Private Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, and Kinkaku-ji The weather forecast a few days earlier had predicted rain, but fortunately it stayed dry. The first stop was Fushimi Inari Taisha. I explained how to purify the hands and mouth at the water basin before praying. Then I guided the group to the front of the main hall and shared the proper etiquette of bowing twice, clapping twice, offering a wish, and bowing once. After that came the famous Senbon Torii. The guests seemed interested in the story that individuals and companies had donated these gates as a way of giving thanks. After passing through the famous Senbon Torii, we reached the "Oku-no-in." To the far right there is a stone called the "Omokaru-ishi." First, you make a wish in front of the lantern. Then you lift the round stone placed on top of the lantern. The guests were intrigued by the idea that if the stone feels lighter than expected, your wish will come true, and they tried it several times. Next we visited Tenryu-ji, the Sagano bamboo grove, a park observation deck, and were moved by the beautiful views along the Katsura River. After lunch, we went to Kinkaku-ji. The guests were interested to learn that the entrance ticket is designed like a paper talisman, which can be placed at the entrance of a home to ward off misfortune. They were also moved by the beauty of Kinkaku-ji across the pond, and were interested in the story that it has been depicted in many novels, such as those by Yukio Mishima. As a final little incident, one of the guests left a hat behind at the restaurant. I called the restaurant right away, and they had kept it safe. The driver kindly stopped by to pick it up, which delighted the guests. Blessed with fine weather, I believe it turned out to be a very enjoyable trip.

    Currently, after retiring, I teach English as a part-time lecturer at a Hyogo Prefectural High School.
    My hobbies are tennis, table tennis, traveling, studying English, and Japanese history.
    I play tennis and table tennis twice a week. I love traveling because I can see beautiful scenery and learn about Japanese history.
    I chose Kyoto and Nara prefectures as my guiding locations. Both were once the capitals of Japan.
    Kyoto was the residence of emperors from 794 to 1868 and was a stage for Japanese history.
    It has beautiful scenery, Japanese history, magnificent buildings and gardens, and delicious food.
    I would like to share the charms of Japan with foreign tourists as much as possible.
    I live in Amagasaki City, which is adjacent to Osaka. Kyoto is a little far from my home,
