    Title: What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Tokyo Tour from Yokohama? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. From the next day they would board a cruise ship to visit various parts of Japan, mainly the southwestern regions. They came by train on their own from their hotel in Yokohama to Tokyo Station, and we met beneath the national flag on the Marunouchi side. At the departure station, they had been unsure how to buy tickets, but a local person spoke to them in simple English and helped them out. They shared how kind Japanese people were. Since the tour was four hours long and they would be visiting many temples and shrines during the upcoming cruise, I decided to skip Sensoji Temple and instead focused on places that are uniquely Tokyo, such as the Imperial Palace and Ginza. At Meiji Shrine, we happened to come across a wedding procession, which delighted them greatly. In the shrine's inner garden, only a few irises were in bloom, but the water lilies were in full bloom across the pond. They said it was "very beautiful" and took many photographs. At the Kiyomasa Well, there was a long line, but I explained its origins and judged that it was worth the wait. They were able to touch the water of the well. The tour ended at Shinagawa Station in Tokyo, but to make sure there would be no worries about transfers, I accompanied them all the way to their seats aboard the Keihin-Tohoku Line train. During conversations along the way, many topics came up. Reflecting the current political climate, they mentioned that they were practicing not buying certain products. When I mentioned that some guests visiting Japan from North America introduce themselves in a particular way when abroad, they nodded in agreement.

    Title: What Is a Private Arashiyama Walking Tour in Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe, along with a friend. It was everyone's first time in Japan, and before coming to Kyoto they had stayed about a week visiting Tokyo and Takayama. Based on information from another guide, I was told that walking would be difficult for some in the group, so I made sure to keep our pace slow and comfortable. We visited Arashiyama (the Togetsukyo Bridge and the Tenryu-ji temple garden), the Okochi Sanso Garden, the bamboo grove, and Nonomiya Shrine, and after lunch we continued to Jojakko-ji, Nison-in, and Gio-ji temples. For those in the group who had difficulty walking, they waited partway through at the Okochi Sanso Garden, which has many stone steps, and at Jojakko-ji they waited in front of the entrance rather than going inside. Within the group, one especially enjoyed the quiet stroll at the Okochi Sanso Garden, another loved Gio-ji, famous for its Moss Garden, and others were fond of Nison-in. The rain had stopped before the tour began, and it was not too hot during the tour, so we were able to proceed comfortably throughout.

    What Is a Private History Tour of Nagasaki's World Heritage Sites Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests had mentioned beforehand that they wanted to focus on Nagasaki's history and visit World Heritage sites, so I planned the itinerary around those interests. They were especially attentive at the Christian Museum next to Oura Church. Since the Pope was a timely topic, I also spoke about the feelings with which the Pope came to Nagasaki. At Glover Garden, the guests asked about Glover's life and why Glover Garden is a World Heritage site. At the Atomic Bomb Museum, school excursion students were noisy, so it seemed the guests could not view it at a relaxed pace. I therefore gave supplementary explanations at the Hypocenter Park and Peace Park, doing my best to convey the damage caused by the atomic bomb as clearly as possible. My explanations ended up being spot-by-spot, but the guests seemed to want to understand what role each place had played within the flow of history. My reflection is that it would have been better to begin the guiding by first touching on the history of the opening of the port of Nagasaki.

    Can You Do a Private Day Trip to Sumiyoshi Taisha and Dotonbori in Osaka? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Asia. They did not appear at the meeting time, so I contacted them via a messaging app, and they replied that they were on their way, so we started the tour about 15 minutes late. Some of the guests moved at a somewhat slower pace. At Sumiyoshi Taisha, they observed everything very attentively and asked many questions, which showed their strong interest. They also kindly gave me a thoughtful explanation regarding something I had long wondered about — why Buddhists are few in India, the birthplace of Buddhism (according to the guests, certainly less than 10%), and why most people follow Hinduism instead. They also worshipped and spent a considerable amount of time searching for the popular "Go-Dai-Riki" pebbles. At Kuromon Market, perhaps because they did not eat meat, they did not seem particularly interested. In Dotonbori, one of the guests happily bought the soft-serve ice cream they wanted at a popular shop known for its performance. They also wished to try vegetarian ramen, so I searched online and found two or three options, but unfortunately all of them opened only after 17:00.

    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know

    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

They said, "I did not know that the British Prime Minister Churchill was involved in the development of the atomic bomb, nor that the dropping of the bomb was a kind of test. In Europe, we were taught something completely different." In response, I said, "Japan also invaded Southeast Asia to obtain oil and iron. The important thing is to make sure that wars do not happen anywhere in the world," and then had them enter the main building of the memorial museum. When they came out, they told me, "The explanation was very easy to understand," which made me happy. As for transportation, the guests had a JR Pass, so we used JR.

    What Can You See on a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on the East Gardens, Asakusa, and Skytree The guests were visitors from Oceania. They were very easygoing. Since they were not particularly interested in history or religion, from partway through I kept my explanations brief and we walked around enjoying the scenery they liked. At the East Gardens, while listening to just a little bit of history involving samurai, shoguns, and emperors, they were very pleased with the photos I took for them. At Asakusa, we passed through the Nakamise shopping street while I briefly touched on the difference between Buddhism and Shinto and the history of Sensoji Temple. Even so, they were surprised by the manji symbol and asked why it was here. When I explained the reason, they seemed reassured. The manji really does come as a shock. After that, they mentioned we might walk to Skytree, and while a 30-minute walk can be enjoyable if there is time, considering that they had a 2:00 reservation, I suggested it would be better to take the subway, so we went to Oshiage. After that, I guided them to the ticket counter. I had them confirm the return station several times so they would not forget it, and I handed them a paper with directions on how to get to teamLab Borderless for their 5:00 reservation and how to return to the Hotel from there. As is the case with many guests, many people think that getting to Skytree is easy once they know the station. But the real challenge comes after arriving. It is crowded, the signs are hard to understand, and even reaching the ticket counter is difficult. I took them there while checking many times so they would not get lost. They were very grateful. I said goodbye while praying that they would make it safely back to the Hotel.

When we met and talked, they seemed interested in Gion, Nijo Castle, and Fushimi Inari Taisha, so I decided to focus our tour on those places. The guests walked at a slow pace, and going up and down stairs seemed difficult for one of them, so we began our exploration at Nijo Castle, which is one station away from the station nearest to their Hotel. Both guests appeared to have a deep interest in Japanese history and culture, and they explored the Ninomaru Palace and Ninomaru Garden very enthusiastically, taking their time. After they experienced the level of crowding at Nijo Castle, I asked whether they would be okay with Fushimi Inari, which is even more crowded, and they said they would be fine, so we headed there next. Fushimi Inari was very crowded, but they were pleased to be able to take a commemorative photo at the Senbon Torii, and one of the guests enjoyed waiting in line to try the Omokaru-ishi (heavy-light stone). Afterward, when I mentioned that we would head to Gion, it was memorable how excited both guests became. Unfortunately, we were not able to see any maiko or geiko, but they were very delighted when I shared with them the hidden charms of the geisha district. After exploring Gion, we had a little time left, so I tried to guide them to Kennin-ji Temple, but since the guests did not have any cash and the admission fee was cash-only, we had to give up on that. After that, I saw the guests off at their Hotel. It ended a little earlier than expected, and we parted ways on the spot.

    What Can You See on a Private Full-Day History and Architecture Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who had a strong interest in history and architecture. Their requests were Nezu, the Imperial Palace, and Asakusa, so we started in Asakusa, which is reachable in a single ride on the Ginza Line. We began from the rooftop of the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center, made a light circuit around Senso-ji Temple, and then moved on. This time the guests wanted to cover a fairly wide area, including Nezu (Yanaka) and the vicinity of the Imperial Palace, so I paid careful attention to managing the time so we could complete everything within the schedule. In Yanaka, the guests were delighted by the small traditional houses and took many photographs. At Nezu Shrine, they seemed to love the Important Cultural Property buildings and the torii gates of the Inari shrine. After that, we headed from Otemachi to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. They were impressed by the large stone walls of the Nakanomon Gate and, in the Ninomaru Garden, by the carp, azaleas, and the irises that were just beginning to bloom. After I guided the guests around the entrance of Tokyo Station, they decided to have tea along Marunouchi Naka-dori, and we said our goodbyes. I believe they were satisfied.

    What Is a Private Rainy-Day Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Although it was unfortunately raining, the guests had visited Higashi Chaya District and Nagamachi the previous day, and since they had requested to see Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden during our prior discussion, we proceeded with the tour as planned. However, partway through the tour, the guests split into a group heading to Omicho Market after Kenrokuen and a group going to the 21st Century Museum, so I accompanied the group visiting the 21st Century Museum. At Kenrokuen the rain eased to a light drizzle, which was a relief. Since there was also a request to buy souvenirs, we then moved to the souvenir area at Kanazawa Station. Even in the rain, the guests were able to enjoy the tour itself.

    Title: What's a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Koishikawa Korakuen, and Meiji Shrine The full-day private tour began at 8:30 in the morning in Asakusa, when there were still few visitors, so the guests could walk slowly while listening to the origins and history of Senso-ji Temple. We stopped by Asakusa Shrine, where I explained the syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism and the Japanese view of religion, and the guests from Europe were surprised, saying such a way of thinking would be unthinkable in their region. As they were staying at a hotel in Asakusa, they were delighted when I introduced a good izakaya on Hoppy Street. What the guests enjoyed most this time was Koishikawa Korakuen Garden. Since forest walking was already a hobby of theirs, they took a liking to the Kisoji path in the garden and were amazed, saying, "It's hard to believe there is such a tranquil place in the middle of the city." They also seemed to enjoy the quiet atmosphere at Meiji Shrine and Nezu Shrine. Since the guests wanted ramen for lunch, we stopped by Kagurazaka partway through the course and enjoyed a meal at a famous shop known for shio (salt) ramen. Here, guests could freely add toppings such as tororo kombu, iwanori seaweed, and yuzu kosho to change the flavor, so they tried changing the taste many times while eating and were delighted, saying it was "interesting." After the tour, we exchanged the photos we had each taken by email, and I received the following message, which I would like to share (parts relating to the guests' private matters have been omitted): Hi, Thank you for your email. It was so great to meet you too, and thanks again for being a wonderful guide. You really explained everything perfectly, we learnt so much and had a lot of fun with you. We feel set up nicely for the rest of our time in Japan now thanks to you. We will be happy to write a positive review in due course. We took your advice this evening and went back to Asakusa temple area. You were right it had a nice vibe and looked beautiful lit up. We also loved the Izakayas and the food was fantastic (although we were less hungry after the Ramen so it worked well small snacks!). Thank you for the photos too!
