What's a Private Day Tour of Nara Like by Car? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. As some of the guests preferred to travel by vehicle rather than on foot, the tour was arranged around car transportation. One of the guests had a strong interest in Buddhist statues and had been looking forward to visiting Kofuku-ji Temple, taking plenty of time to observe them carefully. The tour was originally scheduled to run for 8 hours, starting at 9:00 and ending at 17:00, but since the guests wished to return to their hotel by 16:00, we finished one hour earlier and concluded the tour at 16:00.

Title: What's a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like for Return Visitors from North America? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from North America. Initially, the guests had sent a long list of places they wanted to see and things they wanted to do, but after visiting Takeshita Street, Shibuya, Meiji Shrine, and Asakusa in Tokyo, they said they did not want to go to crowded places anymore. They also expressed a wish to try matcha, have Japanese food for lunch, and visit a quiet bamboo grove, so I reorganized the second half of the itinerary. Since they also wanted to look at cosmetics, I guided them to Yojiya and Kazurasei in the Gion shopping street. As they wanted to buy matcha as well, I also took them to Tsujiri. Today the sunlight was strong and the temperature was high, so the guests became a little tired in the latter half, and in the end they concentrated more on shopping than on sightseeing. This private tour was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures. [Japan Guide Agency](https://www.j-g-a.org/) is a winner of the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Best of the Best.

I’m Ryoichi Kazuma and my nickname is “Kazz”. I live in Kyotanabe city next to Kyoto city. I want guests to enjoy Kyoto by seeing and experiencing not only from outside but also from inside. I offer various information from daily matters to traditional cultures. Most destinations in Kyoto are located on the eastern side or the western side. As I want to guide guests to as many destinations as possible, I make an efficient itinerary and recommend a taxi use to save time. Additionally, I take pictures at various spots and finally share the link to my storage. By doing so, guests can download their favorite pictures from my storage. Please enjoy Kyoto night and day!

What's a Private Kochi Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kochi Castle and Makino Botanical Garden The tour turned out to be a very active one for the group. We walked quite a lot around Kochi Castle and the Makino Botanical Garden, but everyone enjoyed it. They had also visited Nagoya Castle, and they appreciated how Kochi Castle had a different character. It was very hot that day, so we visited a museum to cool off. We had lunch at Hirome Market. Since there was a food consideration to keep in mind, we checked the ingredients together as we chose. It was reassuring to find things they could eat. They enjoyed sushi, teriyaki-flavored fried chicken, and yakitori. They told me it was their favorite of all the tours they had joined.

    Hello, I am Keiko.
I was born and raised in Kochi Prefecture which is blessed with beautiful rivers, mountains and the ocean.
I majored in English in college and enjoy communicating with people in English. I have also worked at a university, assisting international students from admission to graduation.
I consider myself friendly and enjoy helping others.
In my free time, I visit an onsen, swim, do yoga and watch TV dramas.
I am also a big foodie! I would be happy to recommend some great restaurants and bars.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Kochi.

Can You Do a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo's Temples and Shrines? A Licensed Guide's Report The meeting point for this tour was a lodging facility, but its main drawback was that it was far from any station. Since it seemed to take more than ten minutes on foot to reach either Oshiage Station or Asakusa Station, we decided to first take a bus to Asakusa Station. The bus, scheduled to arrive at 09:10, was slightly delayed, but it was not extremely crowded, and since the guests did some shopping at a convenience store during the wait, I think we were able to use our time relatively efficiently. It was also convenient that the guests had Suica cards. As one of the guests seemed interested in temples and shrines, I mainly guided them to three places: Sensoji Temple, Ueno Park, and Nezu Shrine. Because we moved at a quick pace, we had time to spare, so I decided to guide them last to Shibuya, which they had mentioned wanting to visit for shopping after the tour, and we parted ways after crossing the intersection.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

What's a Private Tokyo Tour with Asakusa, Skytree, and Shimokitazawa Vintage Shopping Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. The original plan was to visit Asakusa, Skytree, and Akihabara, but since they had grown tired from visiting Shibuya and Harajuku the day before, and because they had enjoyed Omotesando so much that they wanted to explore fashion a little more, we decided to go vintage clothing shopping in Shimokitazawa after Asakusa and Skytree. One of the guests aspired to work in modeling or design, and at one vintage shop found a jacket priced at 60,000 yen, describing it as a fated encounter, and purchased it. There was a lot of trying things on, so it took some time, but the whole group bought plenty of vintage clothing and were very pleased.

    Hi, I’m Sam.
I am happy to welcome you all to Japan.

Since I was a child, my parents welcomed many international students into our home and I had many opportunities to interact with them. My mother is a translator, and I have always seen her guiding foreigners around Japan, so it was natural for me to start doing the same.

I am good at guiding people to popular places such as Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Asakusa, as well as photogenic spots in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Since I was a child, I’ve watched anime like Pokémon and played Nintendo games, and I still buy around 100 manga comic books a month. I love shopping in Akihabara! I currently live in Urayasu City, Chiba, so close that I can see fireworks from Disneyland from my house every night.

Please feel free to ask me anything!

Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima and Miyajima Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima for a group visiting from North America. After the group arrived at Hiroshima Station and dropped off their luggage at their hotel, the tour started at 12:30, about an hour and a half later than planned. Although the tour was originally scheduled to end at 20:30, the initially proposed plan of visiting the museum first and then walking around the memorial monuments would not have left enough time to reach the Rest House before its closing time at 18:00. Since the guests wanted to visit the Rest House, the itinerary was adjusted to do the monument tour first. As a result, the guests agreed to end the tour at 19:00 after visiting the museum. We had a lively conversation about the "Millennium" series written by a Scandinavian crime novelist, which helped deepen our cultural exchange. At Miyajima, the guests enthusiastically photographed the beautiful natural scenery with a single-lens reflex camera, showing a deep interest in the natural beauty of Japan. At the Peace Memorial Museum, it was memorable to see the guests viewing the exhibits and their explanations with great attention. They also listened with interest to my own experience as a second-generation atomic bomb survivor, and showed interest in the exhibit of the paper crane that President Obama folded himself during his visit to Hiroshima. By sharing such personal experiences, I felt we were able to achieve a deep cultural exchange that went beyond simple sightseeing guidance. After the tour, the guests expressed a strong wish to see the kagura performance held every Wednesday, so I guided them to the venue. Their keen interest in traditional Japanese performing arts was evident, and it seemed they enjoyed a fulfilling time right up to the end. The day after the tour, I received a heartwarming email that read, "We just wanted to thank you again for accommodating us yesterday. Your authentic storytelling and guidance was very much appreciated!" This tour required flexible responses to schedule changes, but by prioritizing the guests' wishes, I was able to provide a highly satisfying service. I was reminded of the importance of planning an itinerary that takes facility operating hours, such as the Rest House closing time, into account. At the same time, I truly felt that offering topics rooted in cultural background and sharing personal experiences can lead to deeper exchange.

Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Shizuoka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report from Mt. Fuji Views to Miho no Matsubara We met the group visiting from North America successfully at 8:00 and headed to Yume Terrace. Unfortunately, Mount Fuji was hidden by clouds, but we could see Suruga Bay, Shizuoka City, and faintly the area around Omaezaki City, while I talked about the Southern Alps, volcanoes, and hot springs as we waited for the ropeway to open. We took the very first ropeway down, and as we descended, I explained the stone walls of the castle ruins and the camphor trees while we slowly climbed up Toshogu Shrine. Explaining as we went, we climbed all the way up to the Ieyasu Mausoleum. We enjoyed searching together for the upside-down hollyhock crest, and it was a pleasant tour to guide. After that, although Mount Fuji was not visible, we went out to the shore at Miho no Matsubara and enjoyed playing in the water. At the riverside market, we savored delicious sakura shrimp, whitebait, and tuna, and at the very last moment on our walk to Shimizu Station, Mount Fuji faintly came into view. It made bringing everyone this far worthwhile. Both my guests and I were overjoyed, and we took many photos. From there, we took a shuttle bus to Dream Plaza, confirmed the way to the cruise ship, and said our goodbyes.

I have been teaching high school students for 40 years as an English teacher and guiding for 10years including a volunteer guide .Now I am a national government licensed guide. I have been dreaming to introduce Japanese culture including tasty Japanese food and history , our society and also some problems in it. It is a great moment of joy and excitement to be with you from all over the world. I love traveling around Japan and abroad myself. I visited East Germany ,too that does not exist any more. I am looking forward to guiding you in and around Shizuoka!

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Hakodate Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The forecast had predicted higher temperatures, but it was not too hot, and since no cruise ship was arriving that day, all the sightseeing spots were uncrowded and comfortable to visit. The guest was able to walk quite a lot without any trouble, which was very helpful. I encouraged the guest to stay hydrated several times along the way and asked whether they would like to take a break, but the tour continued without stopping. Since the guest did not stop for lunch either, we visited all of the popular sightseeing spots and still had time to spare. I was able to guide the guest to the Museum of Northern Peoples and the Red Brick Warehouses as well, which had not originally been planned. We managed to visit six locations in total, and since none of them were crowded and we could tour comfortably, the guest was very satisfied. Because we used the streetcar, the tram stops were somewhat far from the sightseeing spots. From Motomachi to the Red Brick Warehouses, we stopped at the Museum of Northern Peoples on the way and then continued to the Red Brick Warehouses. From there we walked back toward the area near the Hotel, so we covered quite a long distance on foot. Around 15:20, the guest said that they had seen many places and walked a lot today, and would now like to return to the Hotel to rest, so we could finish here. We said goodbye in front of the Hotel entrance. I confirmed whether that was really alright. The guest had wanted to visit the places they had once planned to see together in the past, and was very happy to be able to visit all of those places and more.

In Onomichi, in addition to the temple walk, I wanted the guests to enjoy an experience that reflects the character of Onomichi, which is also well known as a cycling town, so we stopped by a cafe attached to a hotel catering to cyclists. The guests seemed to enjoy a relaxed afternoon in a calm and pleasant atmosphere. It turned out to be a day in which the guests could comfortably enjoy Onomichi, a place where history and modern charm coexist.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, I’ll change the plan according to your requests.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay connected.

What's a Private Afternoon Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Akihabara, Shibuya, and Shinjuku Today's guests were a group of four visiting Japan from North America. Because they arrived at Haneda at 4:30 in the morning, the tour started at 1:00 in the afternoon. The weather was clear, which was nice, but the temperature was 35 degrees with very high humidity, so I planned to keep us indoors as much as possible during the day. We first visited the Radio Kaikan in Akihabara, where the guests experienced anime goods. This is usually a place crowded with international travelers, but perhaps because of the extreme heat it was very quiet. Next we headed to Tokyo Tower, where they enjoyed a panoramic view of Tokyo from the observation deck. After that, I took them to the Godzilla Head, a new landmark in Shinjuku. They were very surprised and took many photos. Next I took them to Shibuya's famous crossing and the Hachiko statue. They had watched the crossing on YouTube beforehand, so seeing it in person moved them with its impact. When I explained that it became famous partly because it was used in the Hollywood film "Lost in Translation," they said they would watch the movie again carefully. I told them that the Hachiko statue became famous thanks to "Hachi," starring Richard Gere, and they said they would definitely watch this film too. They lined up in the queue and were delighted to take a group photo together with Hachiko. Finally I took them to Takeshita Street, where they saw an animal cafe and exclaimed how cute it was. To end the tour, we enjoyed a delicious ramen dinner together at Ippudo and concluded the day.
