Title: What Is a Private Family Day Tour of Nara Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Body: [Important] On the report submission form, the "Scheduled Guide Fee" is listed as ¥20,000, but this is incorrect. According to the booking information, the "Guide Fee" is ¥22,000. Please correct this accordingly. – A private tour for a group visiting from Europe. The request came in on August 7. The following day, the group's representative sent a reply with detailed information, and I created the itinerary in response. Through this exchange, I felt a real sense of connection between us. In the evening, the representative sent a message via a messaging app asking, "The weather looks like it will be rough the day after tomorrow (the 10th, the scheduled tour date), so could we move the schedule up by one day to tomorrow (the 9th)?" It was quite a hectic start. On the day itself, things did not go exactly as planned, which was full of its own charm. The guests mentioned they would visit the Senbon Torii at Fushimi Inari on their way back. I had been asked in advance to accompany them, but I convinced them they could manage on their own, and during the Nara guiding I explained the key points about Fushimi Inari as well. I truly love this culture and language.

Hello! Thank you for choosing Nara! I bet you’ll love Nara. I specialize in Nara because Nara is the unique place where in one day you can cover the history and religions of Japan from the ancient times to the post war era while enjoying rambling in the UNESCO World Heritage park, having communication with lovely deer, surrounded with the beautiful nature.
I grew up in Nara, went university in Kyoto, enjoyed teaching at high schools and a university in Osaka. The three former capitals of Japan are home to me.
After retiring from teaching I began guiding so that I can meet various people from various corners of the world with a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Each time I guide, I find it hugely rewarding because I learn a lot from my guests sharing the history, culture and all that I know about Nara, Kyoto and Osaka.
I used to be a marathon runner, mountain climber and skier though I am not much of them anymore.
What I especially recommend is to stay in Nara a couple of days and enjoy communicating with friendly deer while visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Nara in early morning, temples and shrines at night are well worth experiencing.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like for Families Visiting Japan? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from Europe. Long ago, one of the guests had taught English for five years at a university in Fukui Prefecture. At that time, the guests had connections to living and working in Tokyo, which had become a significant turning point in their lives, and bringing their group to Japan had been a long-held dream. Now that the timing was right, they were delighted that it had finally become a reality. We talked about the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, which had occurred around that period; apparently Fukui Prefecture also shook considerably at the time. The effects of the previous day's rain lingered, so the morning was cloudy, but the occasional sunshine was quite strong. One of the guests had developed an interest in Buddhism through a philosophy class at school and knew a little about Zen. At Kinkaku-ji, a group tour guide spoke for a long time in front of a photo of the interior of the golden pavilion, so other visitors, including us, were kept waiting for a while. Since I sometimes do something similar myself, I want to be mindful of it. The photo was taken at Kinkaku-ji.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

    • 18:15 Disband at a nearby restaurant

Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Hiroshima and Shukkeien Garden? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. They had arrived in Japan the previous day at Shin-Osaka, but at the airport they experienced a lost luggage problem, and five suitcases had not yet reached them, with word that they would be delivered to their hotel in Kyoto the following day. In addition, when I took them to Shukkeien Garden, one of the guests dropped a phone battery into the pond, and with one bit of trouble after another, everyone was feeling a little tired. Fortunately, a staff member at Shukkeien Garden used an underwater camera, and the battery was safely retrieved. Since the guests are from North America, the heat in Hiroshima did not seem to bother them in particular, and they were able to enjoy the sightseeing without any issues, following the itinerary. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) is one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures.

Hi! My name is Kazuhisa To. After completing graduate school, I moved to Hiroshima—and have now lived here for over 42 years. I earned a Ph.D. through a national university’s professional program while working at Mazda Motor Corporation. Five years before retiring from the company, I was seconded to Hiroshima University, a national university, where I served as a specially appointed professor. In addition to my domestic career, I spent a total of about five and a half years living and working abroad. These international experiences have given me valuable cross-cultural understanding and the ability to connect comfortably with guests from around the world. Currently, as a Hiroshima Prefectural Government Licensed Guide Interpreter, I introduce visitors not only to famous attractions such as Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima, but also to the local lifestyle, culture, and culinary delights, tailored to your interests. I hope to provide each guest with a memorable experience that stays in your heart.
I look forward to meeting you here in Hiroshima!

What Is an Evening Private Walking Tour in Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private evening tour in Japan for guests who had visited the country before and had a strong interest in Japanese culture. Some of the guests were especially fond of Japanese pop music and anime. The guests listened to the explanations during the tour with great interest and asked many questions. Today's tour (15:00-21:30) ended after I explained that the main street near the guests' accommodation would be closed to traffic and turned into a pedestrian zone for a parade and a Bon Odori dance festival.

What Is a Private Family Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Shibuya, and Shinjuku The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America and Asia. Some of the guests did not speak English, so others in the group helped with interpretation throughout the tour. Since very hot weather was expected in advance, we discussed the tour content together with the guests and planned a route that avoided walking outdoors as much as possible, taking everyone's comfort into consideration. We first headed to Asakusa and Sensoji Temple, where the guests enjoyed the unique atmosphere of the temple grounds and purchased sweets and souvenirs. After that, we went to Shibuya, where they enjoyed the famous crossing and shopping for souvenirs at the Pokemon shop. Finally, I took the group to Shinjuku Golden Gai, where they saw the 3D cat billboard and the Godzilla building. One of the guests wished to purchase items at a drugstore, so I assisted with the purchase. Since the guests wanted to continue shopping in Shinjuku afterward, I explained the route back to their hotel and concluded the tour.

    Hello and welcome to Tokyo!

I have been working for business with American companies for many years. I have many experiences guiding customers from around the world in Japan and taking Japanese customers to the USA and Europe.

I now have a national license as a guiding interpreter, and I want to introduce the unique gigantic city of Tokyo and the traditional Japanese culture, which is not shown in the guidebooks, to people worldwide who are interested in it. In addition, I want to introduce various Japanese foods you can enjoy only in Japan.
Unique experiences such as the Sumo Training Viewing and Tea Ceremony are optionally available.
Depending on your preference and itinerary, I can guide you in Tokyo, Kamakura, and Hakone so that you can enjoy your time in Japan.

What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Hamarikyu, Asakusa, Akihabara, Meiji Shrine, and Harajuku It was a very hot day, and the guests used parasols throughout. Hamarikyu Gardens were extremely hot, but I explained the garden's teahouse and the falconry facilities. It was also hot in Asakusa, but the guests did some shopping and enjoyed themselves. Since they preferred snacks rather than a full lunch, I took them to a convenience store, where they ate snacks in front of the shop. In Akihabara, some of the guests showed particular interest in the maid cafés. By the time we reached Meiji Shrine, the weather had become uncertain, and we were caught in heavy rain along the approach path, forcing us to stop and shelter under umbrellas for about ten minutes. On Takeshita Street in Harajuku, the guests showed interest in various items, but as they planned to return another time, we finished the tour as scheduled (slightly early, since there was no further shopping). I received a souvenir from the guests.

What's a Private Osaka and Kyoto Tour Like for Cruise Travelers? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from North America, traveling through Japan and beyond by cruise. Their journey took them from Tokyo to Osaka and Kyoto. Today's guests were cheerful and full of jokes and laughter, though at times their private conversations were in French, so it was hard to follow what they were saying. Rather than seeking deep knowledge of history and culture, they seemed to want to experience many aspects of "Japan," so I talked about all sorts of topics. For example, Shohei Ohtani, the difference between snow in North America and snow in Hokkaido, maple syrup and autumn foliage, the difference between "san" and "sama," geisha, and more timely topics such as the upcoming Obon season in Japan, the Meiji Restoration (why the shogun returned power to the emperor), and the story of Seven-Eleven Japan nearly being acquired. They were also delighted by the Shinkansen. Tomorrow they plan to visit the Osaka Expo. I also mentioned that Japan's very first exposition took place about 150 years ago in Kyoto. They loved the word "ookini," and I jokingly advised them not to use it in Tokyo. They also enjoyed hearing about the differences in temperament between Osaka and Kyoto, even though both are in the Kansai region. In any case, I am glad if they were able to fully enjoy their trip.

Hello, this is Kazu Akiyama, your tour guide. Nice to meet you and welcome to Japan. Thank you for joining me on the tour. Now I am a retired salaried worker, living in Osaka. I have been very much interested in not only learning Japanese history, culture, religion myself, but also talking about them (sometimes going off topics) in English with tourists from all over the world as well. I am so excited being with you as your guide on coming day! I am very much looking forward to you enjoying with me visiting the must-see places and some of the hidden gems. See you soon. Thank you – Kazu Akiyama

Title: What's a Private Osaka Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Sumiyoshi Taisha, and Kuromon Market The guests were from Oceania and were both very good walkers, so we were able to move around smoothly. They were quite fond of Japan and very knowledgeable, and could speak simple Japanese greetings. On the day, when they let me know via a messaging app 30 minutes early that they had arrived at the meeting point, we were able to gather right away and started ahead of schedule. Osaka Castle was viewed only from the outside, but they fully appreciated its beauty and grandeur. At Sumiyoshi Taisha, they experienced praying and also picked up the small stones of the popular power spot "Go-Dai-Riki" and purchased a charm pouch. We spent slightly longer than planned at these two spots, so the visit to Kuromon Market became a quick one. After the tour, they were going to join a "food-walking tour," so after explaining how to get to the meeting point, I guided them to the nearest station, where we parted ways. Both guests were truly pleasant and likable, and it was a very enjoyable tour with plenty of joking back and forth. As usual, I presented a handmade drawstring pouch made by my sister, which was well received. One of the guests seemed to be a professional artist involved in something photography-related and showed great interest in it. I was also able to hear a great deal about the situation in their country, which was very meaningful for me as a guide.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Kyoto's Arashiyama Bamboo Grove Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. They had long wanted to stroll through the Sagano Bamboo Grove, so they were very much looking forward to it. They mentioned that there are bamboo groves in their home region as well, but that they are full of large insects, making it impossible to walk through in short sleeves. They said the Sagano Bamboo Grove seemed to have almost no insects, and they found it truly wonderful. After the bamboo grove, we strolled around the popular spots in the surrounding area.

Title: What Is a 4-Hour Private Walking Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Body: Just before the tour, there was a change in the meeting point (from the Hotel to Omicho Market), but since I had received a photo of the guests from a guide in Tokyo, we were able to meet without any trouble. I am not sure whether it was due to the rain the previous day, but the weather was relatively comfortable, which was a great help. I believe the guests were able to fully enjoy the tour in a refreshing breeze that was unusually pleasant for this season. I had thought it might be difficult to cover everything on a 4-hour tour with the group, but because everyone was cooperative and walked willingly and actively, we were able to visit all the planned locations efficiently.
