    Title: What Is a Private Kanazawa Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from Europe visiting Japan for the first time. At the start of the tour, they asked for a recommendation for a sushi restaurant for dinner, so I contacted several sushi restaurants I know, but they were already fully booked due to the Obon holiday period. In the end, the guests were introduced to an izakaya-style sushi restaurant near their hotel by the hotel concierge, though I was a little unsure whether the guests would be satisfied with it. The tour itself took place in rainy weather, but the guests enjoyed it. At the end of the tour, one of the guests requested to buy souvenirs and have pancakes, so I introduced a shop near Kanazawa Station and the tour ended.

    Title: What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Tour from Narita Airport? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests did not appear at the designated meeting point at Narita for a while, which was a bit worrying, but we were able to meet after a delay of about five minutes. We had a reservation made from the car to visit Tokyo Skytree at 9:30, but due to some mix-up or because it was full, the reservation ended up being for 10:00, so we spent more than 20 minutes at the entrance. The guests looked satisfied after seeing everything. Since they had not eaten breakfast on the plane, we moved to Asakusa, and after seeing Tokyo Skytree, we went to a pizza restaurant before the temple visit, but this turned out to be a poor choice and we had to wait quite a long time. After visiting Sensoji Temple, we were running very behind schedule, and it became very tight to return to Narita before three o'clock. We went from the Ginza intersection to the Kabukiza Theatre, transferred from Higashi-Ginza to Nihonbashi to catch the intended Airport Rapid Limited Express, and rode together as far as Oshiage, where, with the guests' consent, we ended the tour.

    • 09:00 Met at the front desk on the 5th floor of Hotel Tokyu. We reconfirmed the route we had decided via email in advance, settling on the order of Sensoji Temple → Tsukiji Outer Market (lunch) → Imperial Palace → Meiji Shrine. Also, since they wanted to first issue Welcome Suica cards at Shibuya Station, we decided to help with that.
    • 09:15-09:30 Went through the process of purchasing 4 Welcome Suica cards at the JR East Travel Concierge counter at Shibuya Station. After finishing, we headed to Asakusa from the Ginza Line Shibuya Station.
    • 10:05-11:55 Guided them around Asakusa. In the order of Azuma Bridge → purchasing matcha at Masudaya Sohonten → Kaminarimon → Nakamise Street → Hozomon → Sensoji Main Hall → Ishibashi (koi carp) → Asakusa Shrine → Kannon Street. After finishing, we moved to Tsukiji Outer Market for lunch.
    • 12:20-13:20 Guided them around Tsukiji Outer Market and had lunch at a conveyor-belt sushi shop of Sushizanmai. The wait time was only 5 minutes, which was a relief. After finishing, we moved to the Imperial Palace.
    • 13:35-13:55 We got off at Hibiya Station on the Hibiya Line and were walking toward the Main Gate of the Imperial Palace (Nijubashi) while I was guiding, when heavy rain and strong winds hit. The husband, Matt, said, "Let's not push it today and go back to the subway. We now know the location, so we'll come here when we walk freely around Tokyo over the next three days." So we entered Nijubashimae Station on the Chiyoda Subway Line and moved to Meiji Shrine.
    • 14:20-15:10 Guided them around Meiji Shrine. When we finished, Elizabeth requested, "I want to eat donuts at I'M DONUTS? and then go shopping at Takeshita Street." So, after explaining how to get to Takeshita Street in front of Harajuku Station, I took them to I'M DONUTS? and said goodbye there.

    What Is a Private 6-Hour Tokyo Family Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, and Meiji Shrine The guests were a group visiting from North America on a 14-day trip covering Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Okinawa. They had planned this family trip during a long summer break. At Nakamise, the group looked into a few shops at first, but since all of them looked interesting and it was raining heavily, some of the guests decided to return to Nakamise on their own another day. On the subway heading to Asakusa, I asked whether there was anything they particularly wanted to buy, and one of the guests said they definitely wanted to buy matcha. I recommended purchasing it at Masudaya in Asakusa, and they were happy to buy it there. Because it was raining quite hard at the Tsukiji Outer Market, I finished the overall guiding in a shorter time than usual and we went into a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant. The guests had requested "delicious sushi," and they were surprised, saying, "Even though it's conveyor-belt sushi, it's very delicious!" The sushi here is quite good, so I was glad they enjoyed it. It was a six-hour tour with occasional heavy rain and strong winds, but fortunately the temperature stayed below 30 degrees. Meiji Shrine, which usually feels like a sauna, was very comfortable this time, and the rain even stopped during our visit. The guests said, "This forest and shrine have a very sacred atmosphere and make you feel refreshed," and they liked it very much, which was another good outcome. The six hours ended right there, and since Takeshita Street was for shopping, I carefully showed them the location before we parted. The guests told me, "We were so glad you guided us with such detailed information about Japan," so I feel they enjoyed the tour.

    Title: What Is a Private Family Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting from Europe. From the first contact through a time change the day before, communication was handled entirely through their agency, but oddly a different representative got in touch each time. Although we were able to meet successfully at the hotel, one of the guests suddenly did not want to visit shrines or temples and stayed at the hotel, and another of the guests, who had tried to persuade them, was in a slightly displeased mood when we started. Later, at Sensoji Temple, another of the guests complained of a stomachache and ended up lying down on a bench in the rain. I asked the group whether I should take them to a hospital, but they said it was not necessary (I did call [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), and thank you again for your help at that time). In the end, however, the condition did not improve, and one of the guests took the person back to the hotel. What had been five people at the 10:00 meeting soon became four, and finally just two, who strolled around Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, and Togo Shrine, and we parted ways at the Nintendo shop in Shibuya. Since I did not have one guest's contact details, I sent information about the international clinic near Tokyo Station to another guest's messaging app so it could be shared. One of the guests said, "This happens all the time, so please don't worry; it's probably mental." Under such circumstances, it was a little hard to grasp what interested the guest, but they reacted very strongly to the mini-pig cafe on Takeshita Street and the koi carp at Togo Shrine, showing the biggest smile of the day, so perhaps they had calmed down, or perhaps they simply liked modern places and animals. One of the guests apparently has a Japanese friend and looked at everything Japanese with great interest, and even knew some Japanese. This very friendly guest, who created a nice atmosphere, asked as we finished Asakusa, "This is chaos, isn't it?" and "Has anything like this ever happened in your guiding before?" As usual, what the agency had said was not shared with the guests, and the destinations were mostly decided on the spot. When I learned the guest was interested in Nintendo, and since it was raining and I thought it would be better to take them indoors, we finished at the Nintendo shop (there had been information from the group that they planned to go to Shibuya at night). When we took a commemorative photo there (I'm not good at taking photos, so almost none of the Nintendo goods appear in the background), one of the guests said, "Sorry it ended up being just two of us." I had thought they might be worried about the others, but I was relieved to see them afterward enjoying their shopping. I hope the others recover their mood and health and that the group has a wonderful trip in Japan.

    What's a Private Tsukiji Outer Market Food Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, and since they were very keen to see the Tsukiji Outer Market, I allocated a little extra time there to guide them thoroughly. As a result, we skipped the planned visits to Harajuku and Shibuya, but the guests were very pleased, saying that they had a wonderful time and gained a lot of knowledge. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, the guests tried the hormone (offal) dish at Kitsuneya and finished it completely, saying it was delicious. On this day the heat had eased slightly, so we were able to complete the tour without worrying about heatstroke. The guests were very cheerful and friendly.

    What Is a Private Day Trip from Yokohama to Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. They had come to Japan for a large gathering held in Yokohama this week, and used a Sunday to take a day trip to Kyoto. During the tour, they invited me to read some links, but I politely declined. As for the tour itself, although they had made the effort to come all the way to Kyoto on a day trip from Yokohama, it rained the entire day, which made for a somewhat disappointing Kyoto tour.

    What Is a Private Nikko Day Tour Like in the Rain? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe on their first trip to Japan. Although it rained all day, at Akechidaira they enjoyed occasional views of Kegon Falls and a festival event. Right afterward, they were able to spot monkeys, which delighted them greatly. During lunch, while looking out at Mount Nantai, we had a lively conversation about school life in their home region and about football. As it was the middle of a three-day holiday weekend, the ticket line at Toshogu Shrine was very long, but the guests listened attentively to the explanations at each spot. From Toshogu we walked briskly toward the station, and the tour concluded after seeing them off on their scheduled train.

    What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like in the Rain? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. It was their first time in Kyoto. I took them to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Shrine, Sanjusangendo, and Fushimi Inari Shrine. Unfortunately, the tour took place in rainy weather. At one point the rain became quite heavy, but overall it was not too severe, and the guests did not use umbrellas, putting on raincoats once the rain intensified. It was fortunate that the rainy weather kept things from being hot. I was relieved that the view from the inner sanctuary of Kiyomizu-dera was not obscured by the rain. Some of the guests said they enjoyed Kiyomizu-dera most, while others preferred Fushimi Inari Shrine. At Gojozaka, the guests purchased ceramic chopstick rests as souvenirs.

    What Is a Private Day Tour of Koyasan (Mount Koya) from Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The day before the tour, I learned that the guests were staying not at their originally expected hotel but at a newly opened hotel nearby. Since the Ajikan meditation experience had not been available at Kongobuji Temple before the Obon period, I had found a temple where people could take part in the Ajikan experience even without being overnight guests. However, that experience was only possible from 4:00, so I knew in advance that our return time would be late. The reason for insisting on the Ajikan experience, which is similar to yoga, was that the guest teaches yoga, so they were very happy to be able to try it. Since the guest follows a gluten-free diet, I arranged at a familiar restaurant for the shojin ryori tempura to be fried using rice flour. The guests also enjoyed the atmosphere of Okunoin, so different from the city, and took their time taking photographs and strolling, which made things take longer. They also spent a lot of time at Kongobuji Temple and bought souvenirs, so among the garan I was only able to explain Konpon Daito. We hurried to the temple offering the Ajikan experience, and as soon as it ended we boarded the bus, quickly transferred to a train, and even using a limited express for part of the way, we returned to Osaka one hour later than planned. Since walking from the station to the hotel would have been tiring, the guests hailed a taxi at Namba to return. As it was a new hotel, I explained the address and general location to the driver, and we parted ways.

    The town of Osaka offers a different atmosphere than Tokyo. I like both exciting Osaka and nature-filled Wakayama Prefecture.
    If you stay in Osaka for 3 days, you can go to Koyasan for one day, or even for a day trip, so I recommend sightseeing at Koyasan.
    If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, the nature of Koyasan will relax you.
    I will introduce you to the unique culture, history and must-see sights.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari and More Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. The guests were all quite tall, and they seemed to have some difficulty walking through the Senbon Torii at Fushimi Inari Taisha, as they had to bend down to pass under the gates. They mentioned that they had eaten around 100 plates at a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant. Several times during the day, passing tourists offered to take photos together with them. It was a fun tour today.
