What Is a Private Fuji and Hakone Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. They were very gracious, and it was a pleasure to guide them. Because I had confirmed the itinerary with the guests in advance, and the hired car driver was someone I was already familiar with, the day went extremely smoothly. On this day, the roads and the sightseeing spots were surprisingly uncrowded, and we were even able to have lunch without any wait, allowing us to move through the day with plenty of time to spare. During our conversation, I learned that one of the guests had celebrated a birthday the previous week, so at the end we stopped at a café near the station where I arranged a birthday cake and asked the staff to prepare candles and a party popper to celebrate. The guests were delighted. I also presented a gift, which they seemed to like as well. Overall, I believe they were very satisfied.

What Is a Private Day Tour of Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests arrived from North America the day before and came from the airport by taxi, and today was their first full day in Japan. They set off without any sign of fatigue. This was the group's first time exploring Japan in earnest, planning to travel to various regions from here on, so I enthusiastically and enjoyably introduced shrines, temples, everyday Japanese life, and simple phrases for their reference. They listened with great interest and clearly had a good time, staying cheerful and smiling throughout. At a local specialty shop, they thoroughly enjoyed a presentation on traditional marquetry woodwork, purchased a rather high-end piece with a beautiful design, and happily took photos with the shop's president. At a shrine, they experienced the proper way to worship firsthand. They also sampled the famous black eggs at Owakudani, bringing their first day in Japan to a close.

Hyogo in Half a Day: Egret Himeji rooftop & Koko-en Garden

    Tour Itinerary

    • 12:00 meet @ JR Himeji Station
    • 12:15 @ Egret Himeji rooftop
    • 12:45 @ Himeji Castle
    • 15:00 @ Koko-en Garden
    • 16:15 disband @ JR Himeji Station

What Is a Private Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Himeji was hit by heavy rain earlier in the day, but about 15 minutes before the tour started, the sky cleared up as if by magic. Perhaps because of this, in addition to the high temperature, the humidity felt unusually high. For that reason, one of the guests appeared quite tired from an early stage and took frequent breaks. One of the guests was a great photography enthusiast and eagerly took photos at each spot. I presented one of the guests with a handmade drawstring pouch made by my sister, and gave hairpins to the others, which they were very pleased to receive. After visiting Himeji Castle, some of the guests retired early, likely due to the heat, and headed ahead to the meeting point at JR Himeji Station, so only some of the group visited the final spot, Koko-en Garden. The guests had a great sense of humor and were a very friendly and likable group throughout.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like for Cruise Ship Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe on their first trip to Japan, traveling as a group. They had already toured various parts of Japan by cruise ship, including Hiroshima, Osaka, Kanazawa, and Aomori, with Tokyo being their final sightseeing destination. They did not visit Kyoto, but in Kanazawa they had taken part in a tea ceremony performed by a woman in traditional Japanese kimono, and they kindly showed me a video of it. When I met them and asked about their preferred destinations, one of the guests was not feeling fully well after catching a cold, and they wished to avoid waiting in long lines for sightseeing in the heat, so I planned a relaxed itinerary without trying to do too much. After visiting the Imperial Palace, I guided them, as requested, to a sushi lunch at Tsukiji and then to Ginza. At Tsukiji we had lunch at a sushi restaurant, but there was an incident in which something like a cellophane cover was found mixed into the salad. The guests said they did not mind and ate it as it was, but as a guide I informed the restaurant of the situation. A sushi chef then came to the table to apologize, and it was decided that the salad would not be charged. The guests enjoyed the sushi lunch, including a tempura appetizer. After that, the focus was mainly on shopping. First, one of the guests, who liked matcha, purchased matcha at the Tsukiji branch of Jugetsudo. After one of the guests had coffee at the Tully's in the basement of Kobikicho near the Kabukiza Theater, in Ginza one of the guests purchased three pairs of shoes at Onitsuka Tiger and a very high-end brand wristwatch at GINZA SIX. They mentioned that back home there is a 19% consumption tax, so buying in Japan was much cheaper for them. They planned to return to the cruise ship for a while and then come back to Ginza in the evening, so to make it easy for them, I explained how to access it by taking the Yurikamome Line from Shimbashi, and we said goodbye at the Shimbashi Station of the Yurikamome Line.

What Is a Private Tokyo Tour Like on a Hot Summer Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from North America, and this was the first visit to Japan for one of them, who had been very much looking forward to it. I guided the group through Asakusa and Ueno in turn, but as the day went on the temperature rose, and by the time we left the Olympic Museum it had become so hot that the guests asked to return to the Hotel to rest, so we called an Uber and they headed back (the temperature in Tokyo that day was 37.3°C, reportedly the highest of the year). The guests had an interest in architecture and had requested to see buildings designed by Tadao Ando and Kengo Kuma, so I had researched and prepared for this in advance. It was a shame that I was not able to show them these places. Regarding the tour, there were no complaints or issues at all, so I do not think there will be any request for a refund due to the shortened time. (Shared information) This was my first time visiting the Olympic Museum, and it may be an enjoyable place for those who love the Olympics. Also, since there is no complimentary admission for guides, the guests paid for my entrance fee as well.

Title: What Can You See on a 6-Hour Private Tour from Shimizu Port to Fujinomiya and Asagiri Kogen? A Licensed Guide's Report On the day of the tour, unfortunately Mount Fuji was not visible at all, but the guests thoroughly enjoyed the scenery at Shiraito Falls and were very satisfied to feel the mist. At Asagiri Food Park, they carefully selected tea at a specialty tea shop, and after enjoying soft-serve ice cream, they took plenty of time to enjoy lunch at a privately run Western-style restaurant. As a result, time ran short, and although we skipped Fujinomiya Sengen Taisha Shrine as originally planned, I believe it was a fully satisfying tour for the guests. Since it takes a little over an hour from Shimizu Port to Asagiri Kogen, I learned that on a 6-hour course with ample time for lunch, it is difficult to also include Fujinomiya Sengen Taisha Shrine as described above. I think satisfaction would increase even further if the guests could decide for themselves, based on their needs, whether to visit many places or to relax and enjoy their meal at a leisurely pace. This private tour was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides serving all 47 prefectures.

My name is Kazunori Honma, I live in Odawara city near Hakone facing Pacific Ocean, so I am familiar with Mt. Fuji and Hakone area. In particular, nature, history, culture and food in the region are my specialty. I know a lot of Shinto shrines, temples, and hiking trails. Plus, I love art, so I am able to guide you to a wide variety of art museums in Mt. Fuji and Hakone area. If you are an art lover, you will be able to spend a fulfilling time with me.
I thoroughly make preparations for your interests and needs to satisfy you with all my effort in advance. I’m sure you will definitely be happy with spending a day with me.

A First-Time Private Tour in Tokyo for Cruise Ship Guests: A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a first-time-in-Japan private tour for guests arriving by cruise ship. When I went to the designated meeting point at Yokohama Osanbashi Pier, the guests were not there and it turned out they were at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal. The guests had also confirmed with the cruise ship staff the night before that the ship would enter Yokohama Port. I quickly moved to the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, and then we went to Tokyo Station and the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. Since walking was difficult for one of the guests, we limited the walk in the East Gardens to only the Ninomaru Garden. Fortunately, we were able to rest in an air-conditioned rest area while I gave an overview of Tokyo and Japanese history, which worked out well. The guests seemed tired, so the tour ended a little early.

What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kiyomizu-dera, Sanjusangendo, and Fushimi Inari The guests were a group visiting from North America. One of them had been to Kyoto 30 years ago, while the others were visiting for the first time. Two days before the tour, I received an email from one of the guests requesting cool-down breaks during the tour. In fact, today Kyoto's heat and humidity were the most severe of the year. We took a cool-down break of about 20 minutes at a cafe on Ninenzaka. I guided the group to Kiyomizu-dera, Sanjusangendo, and Fushimi Inari, but with this heat they may not have been able to fully enjoy the tour. Some of the guests liked Sanjusangendo best, while others preferred Kiyomizu-dera.

Can You Do a Private Day Trip in Shizuoka to See Bonsai, Melon, and Mount Fuji? A Licensed Guide's Report I believe this was a tour that met the guests' expectations by incorporating the bonsai, melon, and Mount Fuji they had requested into the itinerary. First, we headed to Koku-sei-en, which I had called in advance. We were warmly welcomed, and since bonsai cannot be brought onto an airplane, we only viewed the bonsai and intended to purchase just a pot. As we admired the beauty of the bonsai of various sizes, the owner kindly gave us a pot as a gift. It was a moving moment for me as well to have the chance to experience Japanese traditional culture with my own eyes. Next, we headed to Yume Terrace to view Mount Fuji. After carefully watching the video explaining how Nihondaira was created, we could see just a glimpse of Mount Fuji from the third-floor terrace. Then we took the ropeway to Toshogu Shrine. All of the guests listened carefully to my entire explanation. After that, we headed to Kawamura Farm in Miho, which I had reserved, to eat the long-awaited melon. When the melon parfait, just like in the photos, was brought to the table, there was a cheer of delight, and they were deeply impressed by the incredible deliciousness of Japanese fruit. Since everything they had hoped for was fulfilled, they seemed very satisfied, and I said goodbye after informing them about the reservation for the next day's bullet train to Osaka at the Hotel.

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Asakusa, and Harajuku The guest was a visitor from North America, on their first trip to Japan. Since the guest was interested in Japanese history, I guided them around the Imperial Palace, Asakusa, and Harajuku. In Harajuku, the "Super Yosakoi 2025" festival happened to be taking place, so the guest was able to enjoy a little taste of a Japanese summer festival as well. Tokyo was experiencing an extremely hot day, with temperatures exceeding 35°C, and the guest appeared a little tired in the latter half of the tour. However, since we took frequent cool-down breaks, we were able to avoid heatstroke and finished the tour safely. I believe the guest thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Hi, I am Nobu, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (English).
I have been an English guide in Tokyo area since January 2017.
Tokyo is a wonderful city, and you may enjoy this city by yourselves.
Even so, I recommend you go around with a guide, especially if it is your first time visit to Tokyo.
A good guide will help you to understand about Tokyo and Japan as well as how to use convenient but complicated public transportations more effectively.
I am glad if I can help you to make your tour more enjoyable.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo soon!
