    Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Tokyo's Imperial Palace, Odaiba, and Tsukishima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. Some of the guests had arrived a day earlier and had already visited Asakusa and Meiji Shrine, so on this private tour we visited the Imperial Palace East Gardens, Odaiba, and Tsukishima. Since the guests had an interest in history, we walked through the Imperial Palace carefully, taking time to explore. At Odaiba, they were delighted to learn that the Statue of Liberty there is a genuine replica and not a toy, to climb up to the Hachitama observation deck and admire the striking Fuji TV building, and to buy a plastic model kit as a souvenir at the Gundam Base. As the guests were hungry, we first visited a monjayaki restaurant in Tsukishima. We ended up settling in there, and I was treated to lunch while we talked about North America and other topics. Although we had planned to also explore the Tsukuda area afterward, we had already gone over time, so we parted ways at Tsukishima Station. I believe the guests enjoyed themselves.

    Title: What Can You See on a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. Since no requests for specific locations had been sent in advance, I asked about their preferences on the morning of the tour. They wanted to see many places but preferred to avoid rushing, so we walked at a relatively relaxed pace. Interestingly, the day before this tour, they had already visited Ueno and gotten tattoos. This was a first-time experience for one of them, while the other already had colorful tattoos on the arm and chest done back home. After seeing the Godzilla Head in Kabukicho and the 3D cat billboard in front of Shinjuku Station, we took the subway from Shinjuku-sanchome Station next to Isetan. At Meiji Shrine, they had initially said there was no need to visit the souvenir shops, but they mentioned wanting to buy traditional candy, so we stopped by a souvenir shop, and in the end they purchased a considerable amount of various souvenirs, including dorayaki and magnets. Later on Takeshita Street, they also bought several souvenirs for relatives. One of the guests loves cats and animals, so we first got excited talking about Mocha the cat at a cat cafe, and they actually made a reservation at a piglet cafe. Since they were going sightseeing at Mount Fuji the next day, they confirmed a reservation for the morning of the day after next and looked forward to revisiting Takeshita Street. They also seemed interested in the Sanrio shop and vintage shop T-shirts. For lunch, I took them to Gransta Yaenaka, which has several restaurants, but they said they wanted me, the guide, to make the final recommendation. Considering that they had eaten ramen the previous night, I recommended Danchu Shokudo, where they could enjoy healthy and typical Japanese food. They were very satisfied with the ginger pork set meal and the shumai set meal. Next, for one of the guests who loves Ghibli, we went to the Ghibli shop on Character Street underneath Tokyo Station, but there was a queue, so we gave up on entering. At the basement food hall of Nihonbashi Takashimaya, they were delighted by the seasonal fruit. They were surprised at how expensive the mangoes were. At the Nissan showroom in Ginza, one of the guests got very excited about a dream car. They took a test ride and photos. Speaking with the staff, we learned that the current Nissan president is from North America (Ivan Espinosa, who took office in April 2025). This made them even more excited. At our final stop in Shibuya, after introducing the Scramble Crossing and the Hachiko statue, I guided them to places where they could enjoy shopping after the tour. For one of the guests who loves fashion and Sanrio, I introduced Shibuya 109 from the outside and then took them to Mega Don Quijote. At the tank near the entrance, we discovered a large, unusual fish and took photos. Finally, in response to a request to visit the Nintendo shop, we reached the sixth floor of Parco, where we said our goodbyes.

    Can You Do a Private Family Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group visiting from North America. The first destination was Okinawa. One of the guests had previously stayed there, which was the reason they chose Okinawa. The tour was originally scheduled to start at 11:00, but considering the finishing time, I requested changing the start to 10:00. On Miyajima, one of the guests enjoyed collecting temple and shrine stamps and stood in a long line at the shrine. In front of the sake barrels displayed at the shrine, I explained the difference between the brewing methods of wine and Japanese sake, that Hiroshima is one of Japan's three great sake-producing regions, and that Hiroshima sake was served during the U.S. President's visit to Japan in 2016. As the guests were interested, I guided them to a shop offering sake tasting, and after tasting, they purchased three bottles of Japanese sake, including the brand that had been served to the President. One of the guests also chose chopsticks that convey a sense of Japanese culture as a souvenir for a superior, and used a name-engraving service. At the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, the guests toured very attentively and were particularly astonished by the fact that, as a result of over 100 atmospheric nuclear tests conducted by the United States, many people were also exposed to radiation.

    Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Peace Park Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. Since the day was extremely hot, after strolling through Shukkeien Garden, we entered the lobby of a nearby art museum to take a rest, where I explained the monuments located within the Peace Memorial Park. The guests were highly interested in the atomic bombing and the postwar reconstruction of Hiroshima, so I made sure to explain these topics thoroughly. In addition, just as we arrived at the Peace Memorial Park, we were caught in a very heavy shower for about 15 minutes, but I guided them to the souvenir shop at the nearby Orizuru Tower, and we were able to carry out the tour without any problems.

    What Is a Private Day Tour of Takamatsu Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Ritsurin Garden and Yashima The guests were visitors from Europe. Their home is located quite far inland, close to a national border, and they mentioned they were able to reach Japan on a 14-hour flight. They were very clear in conversation, cheerful, and friendly, which made them easy to guide. This time, they had started their trip to Japan with a group and traveled together through Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima, then came to Takamatsu on their own. When I asked why they chose Takamatsu, they said a travel agency had recommended it as a local town. As a local resident, I felt honored. They were deeply impressed by the beauty of Ritsurin Garden and by the magnificence of the Seto Inland Sea, Japan's first national park, seen from the observation deck at Yashima. After Takamatsu, they planned to drive around Ise for four days to complete their 18-day trip to Japan before returning home.

    Hello. My name is Hisao Kaji. I was born in 1945. I was raised in Takamatsu City from 3 years old. So, I have been living in Takamatsu for around 75 years. I believe I know Takamatsu City and the Kagawa prefecture area very well. If you come to Takamatsu, Kagawa I think you can enjoy your tour with me. I started a Government Licensed Guide in 2019. So, I have been a licensed guide for about 5 years. My favorite destinations are Naoshima, Teshima, Ritsurin Garden, the top of Mt. Yashima and so on. I always show you an itinerary about one month before your tour date, and I will accept any questions, other favorite places you want to visit. Communicating with you, I would like to accommodate your request for your tour. I always listen to NPR on the internet to know how the world is moving and improve my English. I like conversation based upon it with my life. I stayed in the USA for 8 months for a Power Systems Engineering Course conducted by General Electric in New York State when I was 28 years old. I sometimes talk about my memory of those days with the guests. I am very happy to guide tourists because I can see the guests become happy and enjoy themselves when I am guiding better.     Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Miyajima from a Cruise Ship? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors to Japan from North America. On the morning of the tour, I explained the itinerary that had been agreed upon in advance, but they mentioned that they wanted to return to their cruise ship by around 16:00, and although lunch had originally been planned as street food, they very much wanted to eat okonomiyaki at a restaurant, so I significantly reorganized the itinerary before starting the tour. As the guests were longtime friends, they enjoyed the tour in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.     What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like for a First-Time Visitor? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a visitor from North America on their first trip to Japan. Before joining a grand tour of Japan, the guest arrived a little early to explore Tokyo, and I guided them around the major sightseeing spots in the city. While the guest was fond of the peaceful atmosphere they felt while strolling through Meiji Jingu Shrine, describing it as "a very peaceful place," they also enjoyed the modern robot café (Pepper Parlor in Shibuya). For lunch, since the guest had no particular likes or dislikes, we went to the dining floor inside Shibuya FUKURAS, where they could choose what appealed to them by sight. The guest ordered tempura soba and enjoyed the shrimp tempura very much. While I prepared a fork just in case, the guest wanted to get used to using chopsticks if possible and gave it a try. During this lunchtime, the guest kindly shared some stories about their life. They mentioned that they had worked at an insurance company until the pandemic, that they now live with two cats, and they showed me some photos on their smartphone. They also mentioned having grandchildren. Perhaps because of their fondness for cats, when I introduced the cat café in Harajuku, the guest seemed very excited, although there was no time to go inside. Since Asakusa was close to the guest's hotel, we had agreed not to include it in the itinerary of this tour so the guest could explore it on their own. However, since there was an option to walk through the grounds of Sensoji Temple on the way from the station to the hotel, I saw the guest off to the hotel while giving a brief explanation along the way.

    Can You Do a Private Half-Day Tokyo Tour Starting in Asakusa? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America who had just arrived in Tokyo this morning and started their tour right away, having already booked a separate "Shinjuku Food Tour" for the evening. Their strong curiosity was impressive. Since they had another tour departing from their hotel later in the day, we started with Asakusa, the farthest destination. They had already downloaded SUICA, which allowed the tour to proceed smoothly. They were interested in Japanese history, culture, and food and asked many questions, and instead of lunch they enjoyed ice cream. They seemed to thoroughly enjoy their short tour of Tokyo.

    Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Covering Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, Asakusa, and Akihabara The guests were visitors from Europe on their first trip to Japan. They had arrived at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal this morning by cruise ship and planned to enjoy sightseeing in Tokyo before returning home. At Meiji Shrine, they seemed deeply impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo shogunate. At Senso-ji Temple, they were interested to hear explanations about the difference between shrines and temples, as well as about the Kaminarimon Gate. In Akihabara, they enjoyed browsing shops selling anime and related goods. Since I accommodated the guests' wishes throughout, I believe they were satisfied. As the guests planned to join a food tour after this tour, we proceeded without lunch.
