Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Nikko Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Before the tour, I was assigned in August of the previous year and sent an email soon after, but there was no reply for a long time. At the end of May, I received a notice of a change of meeting point, which had been set as a plaza in Tokyo. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) contacted the guests on my behalf, and the meeting point was changed to the tourist center at Tobu Nikko Station. (Apparently the response at that time did not come directly from the guests.) After that, I tried to reach the guests several times through the tour details page and by email, but there was no response. They were not using any messaging app, and I could not reach them via text message from their phone number either. There was no response to my message the day before, so I faced the day of the tour in a very anxious state. However, since the meeting place and time were set, I waited from around 9:00 at the planned location. (I did not know what time their train would arrive.) When the guests had not appeared five minutes past the 10:00 meeting time, I reported this to [Japan Guide Agency](https://www.j-g-a.org/) through the tour details page. I continued waiting, showing my banner to foreign visitors who seemed likely to be them, and around 10:35 I was finally able to meet the guests. It turned out they had arrived in Nikko by JR rather than the Tobu Line, and had also missed their planned train. We were both relieved to have finally met, and when I mentioned that I had tried to contact them several times, they said not a single message had reached them. They seemed disappointed by this as well. Since the guests' email address was through the Tripadvisor site, my messages may have gone into their junk mail. The guests were visiting from Europe. They were a lovely group with wonderful, kind smiles. Since we had not been able to discuss the itinerary by email beforehand, I explained several options and decided the day's plan while listening to their wishes. As our time had become shorter, they gave up on visiting the waterfalls and lake, and instead wished to enjoy the World Heritage sites efficiently, leaving everything up to me. They said they love nature, and they were moved by the trees and flowing water around Rinnoji Temple and Toshogu Shrine, so I took them to a place where they could eat lunch while looking at the river. The only menu item was udon, but they enjoyed it so much that they drank up all the soup. The weather was fine and they savored the scenery, which they were very happy about. At the Kanaya Hotel History Museum, they looked with great interest at how historical figures from Europe (such as Ernest Satow, Isabella Bird, and the British Crown Prince) had a great influence on Nikko. They also seemed fascinated by the fittings, garden, and structure of the old samurai house. The guests had never traveled in Asia and it was their first time in Japan, so they looked at everything with great curiosity, including the buildings and the carvings of Toshogu Shrine, and enjoyed the historical stories. I had been very worried until we met, but in the end it turned out to be a wonderful day.

Hello! My name is Yumi. The Nikko area, Nasu area, in Tochigi Prefecture, and Aizu and Shirakawa area in Fukushima prefecture, where I will be guiding you, are not only surrounded by beautiful nature in all four seasons but are also full of historical attractions. Nikko, in particular, is a great place to learn about the culture and history that has shaped Japan to this day. In order for you to truly enjoy your day, I am flexible to your wishes and will prepare your day to be a great day. Because I am a local guide, you will surely see some sights that are not in the guidebooks. Is local food one of your favorite parts of your trip? I am also a sushi-making instructor for foreigners, so food is one of my specialties. I am also a certified sake navigator. Why don’t you come and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with me?

What Is a Private Kyoto Tour to Ryoanji and Kinkakuji Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America on a family trip. Since one of the guests had a health condition and conversation was sometimes a little difficult, I made a point of proceeding with the tour at a relaxed pace. Although we had not received a request for specific destinations before the tour day, the guests mentioned they wanted to see a rock garden, so we decided to visit Ryoanji and Kinkakuji. The buses were not very crowded, so I don't think it was too tiring for them. We ended the tour at Shijo Kawaramachi near the Hotel, and the guests headed off cheerfully to have lunch at Nishiki Market.

What Is a Private Kyoto Family Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They were in high spirits and enjoyed themselves right from inside the vehicle, making for a fun group to guide. At Fushimi Inari, one of the guests really wanted to reach the summit, so it was arranged for that person to go alone early the next morning. I explained how to get there from the hotel by train, and I find myself wondering whether they actually managed to wake up early and make the trip. Initially, I had informed them in advance that due to time constraints the tour might need to end at Kiyomizu-dera Temple. However, thanks to the guests eating a snack lunch in the vehicle and cooperating with swift transfers, we were able to complete the tour with a drop-off at the hotel within the scheduled time.

Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who ran a business producing 100% pure honey. They mentioned that living in their home region is expensive. They traveled to Kyoto and Chiba and spent time in Tokyo before flying home. One of the guests worked for a hotel company and traveled frequently for work. The guests shared that they were looking forward to welcoming a new addition to their family soon. At the Imperial Palace, one of the guests remarked, "The pine trees are beautifully manicured." They spoke about the maternity leave system in their home region. They mentioned that families in their region often leave their young children with relatives or at day care centers. Regarding the massive stones, I explained that they weigh more than 40 tons and were transported from a stone quarry. By the end of the day, one of the guests noted that they had walked more than 15,500 steps. Toward the end, the guests said, "We'll sit here for a while and think about what to do next." Note: The guests had visited a theme park, Kyoto, and Osaka, and planned to spend their remaining time in Tokyo. I offered a few suggestions on how they might spend the evening and the following morning. After the tour, they planned to stay a little longer in Asakusa to finalize their plans.

Was It Possible to Do a Private Kyoto Tour Including Nijo Castle? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Originally more of the group were scheduled to join, but in the end only some of the guests participated. The initial plan was to take them to Nijo Castle, Sanjusangendo, and Chishakuin, but partway through the tour one of the guests was not feeling well, so after visiting Nijo Castle we canceled the other two visits and took them back to their hotel. Nijo Castle was especially crowded with school-trip students. The guest may have grown tired from the crowds. It was a shame that I could not take them to Sanjusangendo.

What Is a Private Tokyo Family Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Harajuku, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting Tokyo. They had four Suica cards, which allowed the tour to proceed smoothly. The weather was good. In Asakusa, they took many photos and purchased many souvenirs. I guided them to a cream-filled sandwich shop they had requested. Around Shinjuku Gyoen, some of the guests began to feel hungry, but Takeshita Street only had sweets shops, which did not suit them, so they had a snack near Meiji Jingumae. In the end, they went to a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Shibuya, and after the meal, I guided them to a discount store they had requested, which concluded the tour. A tip was received.

Since they would also be visiting Kanazawa, I shared some information about Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle. They toured Okayama Castle at a brisk pace and then moved on to Kurashiki, where they were very fond of the Ohashi House. We visited the Bikan Historical Quarter, where they sampled some sweets at a local shop and said they would stop by again later. Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like With a Licensed Guide? A JGA Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Nishiki Market The tour started considerably earlier than scheduled. The guests were a group visiting from North America. At Fushimi Inari Taisha there were few tourists, so we moved smoothly and I was able to introduce the Omokaru-ishi stones and the Nemuri-no-matsu pine. We then headed to Kiyomizu-dera, and since it was early in the morning we were able to see it ahead of schedule, so for lunch I suggested a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant. We were able to eat without any waiting time, and after enjoying some Japanese games there, we headed toward Hanamikoji Street. The driver dropped us off in front of the Nintendo shop at the department store, and after shopping we headed to Nishiki Market. Around this point one of the guests became tired, so we wrapped up a little early and took them to the Pokémon Center, which had not been on the itinerary, ending the tour about 20 minutes early. One of the guests had wanted a Japanese sword, but unfortunately it could not be purchased since it could not be taken home. That may have been a bit of a disappointment.

Title: What Is a Private Nagasaki Peace Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Beforehand, the guests had asked by message how they might teach the younger member of the group about the atomic bombing and whether it would be appropriate to bring the child along. On the day, when the younger guest seemed frightened at the museum, I gave that child some reassurance and said, "Thank you for coming to Nagasaki and learning about the history of the atomic bombing," trying to keep the experience as positive as possible. At Peace Park, the guests enjoyed a chirin-chirin ice cream, which I think helped ease the mood. At the Peace Hall of Shiroyama Elementary School, the younger guest read the explanations carefully, moved by the fact that children of a similar age had been harmed by the atomic bomb. At Stadium City, everyone enjoyed the foods they liked, and at the supermarket the guests were delighted to get character stickers from a machine. The admission fee for Glover Garden was kindly paid by the guests.

Hello, I’m Rikako, but please call me Coco. It would be my absolute pleasure to show you around my hometown of Nagasaki. Having performed in the Nagasaki Kunchi Festival in my childhood, I developed a deep interest in history and cultural exchange. This motivated me to become a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter during my university years. Since then, I have gained valuable experience—from assisting ambassadors at the Nagasaki Peace Memorial Ceremony to handling a wide variety of tours, including private and coach tours, site inspections, international conference support, and VIP hospitality.
Explaining about Nagasaki’s history and culture is the most important to me. It is not only about this. I would love to provide genuine care so that your time in Nagasaki remains in your heart forever.
I’m truly looking forward to guiding you in Nagasaki 🙂

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Nagasaki Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were friendly from the moment we met. Since I was unsure about the lunch situation in Chinatown, I first suggested having lunch, but the guests were not yet hungry, so we decided to visit Chinatown after seeing Oura Church and Glover Garden. At Oura Church, I shared the history of the hidden Christians, and at Glover Garden the guests especially enjoyed the views. Chinatown was calm with no school excursion groups around, so we were able to enjoy a relaxed meal and everything went smoothly. After shopping at the Don Quijote in the Hamanomachi shopping arcade, I took the guests to Meganebashi Bridge, and afterwards they leisurely enjoyed the view from the observation deck at City Hall.
