What Is a 4-Hour Private Miyajima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Asia. This was a 4-hour Miyajima tour, so I guided them within a limited amount of time. One of the guests was fluent in the local language and English, and could also speak a little Japanese, while the others understood some English but mainly used their own language, so among the five of us three languages were flying back and forth, making for a lively, friendly, and very enjoyable time together. In addition, the breadth and depth of their understanding of Japanese culture reflected a perspective different from that of guests from the West, and learning about it was a fascinating experience for me as a guide.

Welcome to Hiroshima.
My name is Hiroshi Tsuji, a licensed guide based in Hiroshima and Miyajima. My family has been connected to Miyajima for more than 300 years, and I am pleased to share the history, culture, and daily life of this unique island with visitors from around the world. Please feel free to call me Hiroshi.
With a background in outdoor sports—including rock climbing, scuba diving, and long-distance triathlons—I have completed several Ironman races abroad. I studied in Kyoto and later worked in management at a publicly listed company, which allowed me to live in many different regions of Japan and develop a deeper understanding of the country’s diverse culture and history.
In Hiroshima, I guide guests through the Peace Memorial Park, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, and share perspectives on the history of Hiroshima and modern Japan.
In Miyajima, I introduce Itsukushima Shrine, Mount Misen, the island’s beautiful scenery, and its local cuisine. As someone whose family has been connected to Miyajima for generations, I also enjoy sharing local insights and experiences that offer a more personal connection to the island’s culture and way of life.

What Is a Private Day Trip from Osaka to Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private day trip from Osaka to Hiroshima and Miyajima for guests visiting from North America. The guests had planned their trip very enthusiastically on their own and had sent me many questions in advance. Although this was the final part of their itinerary, which included Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, I was glad that they enjoyed both Miyajima and Hiroshima very much. I paid careful attention to dietary needs throughout, and I was pleased that the guests were able to buy breakfast at Hiroshima Station and eat it on the JR train, since they had not had time to eat earlier.

I had been teaching at a local university in Hiroshima. After I got retired in March 2023, I started guiding. I was born and raised in Hiroshima. What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Shibuya, Tsukiji, and Asakusa The guests were relatives visiting from North America. They had been traveling together for several years. Although one of them had once changed planes at Nagoya Airport, this was the first time either of them had toured Japan. After today's Tokyo tour, they planned to head to Matsumoto the next day and then join a group hiking tour along a route toward Kyoto, before finally flying back to North America from Osaka. Today's weather was chilly with a light drizzle, but the guests were in high spirits throughout. At Meiji Shrine, they were deeply moved by the lush forest and birdsong, by two couples they happened to encounter wearing traditional wedding attire, and by the adorable children dressed in kimono for Shichi-Go-San. At the Shibuya Scramble Crossing that followed, we got out for only about ten minutes, but they crossed the intersection themselves, cheering with excitement. After viewing Tokyo Tower and Ginza Street from the car, we arrived at Tsukiji Market, where they enjoyed street food including melon and skewers of premium wagyu Kobe beef, followed by a sit-down lunch. At a sushi restaurant on Harumi Street in Tsukiji, they shared an assorted sushi platter together along with Sapporo beer, savoring dishes including sea urchin, which was a first-time experience. After lunch, at the first stop, the Imperial Palace, we were able to get out to see Nijubashi Bridge and the main gate, and they took many photos. At Senso-ji Temple, one of them drew an "excellent luck" fortune while the other drew a "bad luck" fortune, which made for a lively moment. At a tea shop, they enjoyed matcha ice cream topped with a teddy-bear-shaped decorative cone and posed together for photos. Unfortunately, the Tokyo Skytree was shrouded in deep fog, but it occasionally revealed part of its form, and each time it did, they cheered and took photos, making it a tour filled with high energy from start to finish.

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Shibuya, and the Imperial Palace The guests were a group visiting from Asia. They arrived in Japan the afternoon before the tour and seemed a little anxious. We first assisted with purchasing a Suica card at Ikebukuro Station, which took a little time. At Meiji Shrine, I explained an overview of Japanese history, the difference between shrines and temples, the origins of Meiji Shrine, the torii gate, and the sake barrels, and we offered prayers at the main hall. They took photos at various spots and seemed to enjoy the distinctive atmosphere. After that, they did some shopping near Harajuku Station, then moved to Shibuya Station, where they took photos in front of the Hachiko statue and of the scramble crossing before having lunch. After traveling by subway, they took many photos at the Imperial Palace, Nijubashi Bridge, and the East Gardens, and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the scenery of the castle ruins. At the end, they seemed uneasy about using the subway to return to their hotel, so I saw them off to Ikebukuro Station, and the tour came to an end.

One of the guests seemed to find walking a bit difficult and frequently sat down to rest. There were not many questions, but the guests observed each spot with great enthusiasm. One of the guests appeared to enjoy photography and eagerly took many pictures. At "Miraiza," adjacent to Osaka Castle, the guests purchased some souvenirs. At Sumiyoshi Taisha, we happened to encounter a traditional Shinto wedding, and there were also many visitors for the Shichi-Go-San celebration, which the guests found very interesting to see. They also experienced praying at the shrine, picked up the popular "Go-Dai-Riki" pebbles, and showed interest in the "Nade Usagi" (stroking rabbit). I presented a handmade drawstring pouch, and it was warmly received. The guests kindly gave me a ballpoint pen as a gift.

I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
explanation for these three foods.

1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

What's a Private Osaka Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from Asia. It seems they missed a train coming from Tokyo, so they arrived at the Hotel at 15:30. From there, because of their circumstances, we took a taxi to Osaka Castle, and while we were taking our time looking around, heavy rain began to fall by the time we were heading back. The original plan was to visit the Umeda Sky Building, but since the guests wanted to go to a stationery store called Itoya in Grand Front Osaka, we again took a taxi to Umeda. After showing them the taxi stand for their return trip, I took them to the stationery store, where we parted ways. Please kindly advise that the number of guests should clearly note additional details, as the route can differ significantly depending on the circumstances. Thank you very much. It was unfortunate that it rained, but I was glad that I was able to take the guests to the places they wished to visit.

Bye bye smart phone!! Let’s enjoy Japan without bothering to check up your phone all the time with not AI but a local guide like me. Hi, my name is Mimmy. You may think this sounds like a kitten’s name.
I use this nickname because it sounds cute and easy to remember. However,
I actually look rounded, a middle aged woman more like a yellow character of M&Mchocolate, which reminds you of my name easily when you see me.
I was born in Osaka, went to school in Kobe, went to work in Kyoto and married but still live in Osaka. I am a local, native Osakan. My 3 children are all grown up and live separately except one son. Now I live with one son and a husband in suburbs of the Osaka city.
I like travelling, walking around the town and anything new.
I got my guide license in 2017 and started guiding after that. I wasn’t able to work during Covid period but start guiding in 2022 again. I guide Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe and have experienced more than100 tours including bus tours.
I would like to tell you about the itineraries I usually have in each area.
In Osaka, we usually go to Osaka castle, Shinsekai and Dotonbori Namba area.
I think most important part you should see is Dotonbori Namba in Osaka.
This place is vibrant , energetic, full of 3D signs and different from any other place in Japan.
In Kyoto, we cannot see all famous sightseeing spots in one day.
It will be better to visit each area respectively. I recommend guests who come to Kyoto first time to visit East area, Kiyomizu Temple>Sannenzaka>Ninenzaka>Ishibeikouji>Yasaka shrine> Gion area. This area has an atmosphere of traditional old Kyoto. The most Kyoto like places which suit Kimono. You can rent Kimono in a lot of places around here.
The second place I recommend you is West area: Golden temple and Arashiyama area where Bamboo forest , Tenryuji temple, mountains and a river. There are several nice gardens in this area. If you want to enjoy the nature quietly, you
should come here when it is not crowded (Winter is the most quiet)
In Nara which used to be a capital even older than Kyoto, we visit Todaiji Temple where a huge Buddha is sitting inside of one of the largest wooden hall and you can play with deer everywhere in Nara. Naramachi: a small town in this area is a local place where small interesting shops are.
In Kobe, a port city, you can visit Japanese Sake breweries, Herb garden and the top of Mt.Rokko for viewing Kobe city. A small China town is there, too.

Now I bet you want to leave home to explore somewhere else you do not know.
Not only going to somewhere else, we can help you to do several experiences: making tea, making Japanese sweet, making Takoyaki(food), wearing Kimono, making food samples, attending a tea ceremony, throwing Shriken like Ninja, Using bow and arrow like Samurai, , , ,

They had arrived by cruise ship, stopping at Hakodate, Niigata, Kochi, and Wakayama along the way. They stayed in Kyoto and were scheduled to return home the following day. The forecast had predicted rain, which caused some worry, but in the end it did not rain and we were lucky. For lunch, since one of the guests had an allergy, we considered various options and chose a curry restaurant chain. One of the guests had curry udon, and another had pork shabu curry, and they were both very pleased. Since walking was a little difficult for one of the guests, we used elevators and took shortcuts where possible. One of the guests wanted to buy a short-length kimono, so I took them to a vintage clothing shop, but they said they preferred something of higher quality, so I took them to the kimono section of a department store, where we parted ways.

What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a lovely group visiting from North America. When I suggested taking the World Heritage Sea Route to Miyajima, they were very pleased, but this route has become very popular recently, and by the time the guests had agreed to it, the reservations were already full, so unfortunately it was not possible. They loved Miyajima so much and expressed a wish to stay as long as possible, so we decided on the spot that after parting with the guide, they would have their meal in Miyajima, take their time, and then return to Hiroshima. Recently, the input method for the JR train between Hiroshima and Miyajima has changed, so I am reporting it under "Other." Previously, I could enter it without any trouble in the format of train → station name → fare, but now… Perhaps my understanding is mistaken. If so, I would appreciate your guidance.

What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo and Nearby Neighborhoods Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America, involved in grape and wine farming. It was the first visit to Japan for everyone in the group. They had arrived at Haneda Airport the previous day and taken a taxi to their hotel. The night before, they had explored the area around the hotel. This time they were on a longer trip to Japan. After staying in Tokyo, they planned to travel around Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Wakayama (a seaside inn), and Hiroshima, before returning to Tokyo and heading home. Their request was: "First, we would like to see only the main spots in Tokyo. In addition, we would like to visit a town near Tokyo that tourists don't often go to." Some of the guests were smokers and asked to be taken to places where smoking was permitted from time to time. It was a tour under dreary weather, with rain coming and going. First, we went to Asakusa. As always, it was very crowded. We started from in front of Kaminarimon Gate. I explained about "Senso-ji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what the five-story pagoda is for," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." We took commemorative photos at various spots, including Kaminarimon Gate and in front of the five-story pagoda. We strolled slowly along the Nakamise shopping street. There were questions such as "What are the main religions in Japan?", "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?", and "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people believe in?" One of the guests mentioned visiting temples when returning to Asia. We moved to Harajuku. I explained about "Shinto," "torii gates," "the Meiji Emperor," "why sake barrels are displayed," and "why wine barrels are displayed." There were questions such as "What kind of religion is Shinto?", "It's completely different from Senso-ji," and "How do Buddhism and Shinto differ?" After a break at the cafe terrace at Meiji Shrine, we also strolled along Takeshita Street. We moved to Shinjuku Gyoen. The guests said they liked Japanese gardens, so we strolled slowly through the grounds. They commented, "Japanese gardens really are wonderful. The pine trees in particular are amazing." We went into the streets of Shinjuku. I explained about "the origins of Shinjuku," "the difference between the east and west sides," and "the history of Kabukicho." We strolled in turn through "Omoide Yokocho," "Kabukicho," and "Shinjuku Golden Gai." They seemed to like a "cat billboard" and photographed it eagerly. They commented that "some litter was scattered about." At Shinjuku Golden Gai, almost all the shops were closed, but several groups of tourists were strolling around. Since they wanted to reserve round-trip Shinkansen tickets to Kyoto, we went to the JR-EAST Travel Service Center at Shinjuku Station. From here, we moved to Kichijoji (following the request, "We'd like to walk around a small town in the suburbs rather than the city center."). We strolled through "Harmonica Yokocho," "Iseya," "Inokashira Park," and other spots. We returned to Shibuya and strolled around the Scramble Crossing and the Hachiko statue. There were comments and questions such as "The city is clean and there's no litter on the streets," and "Why aren't there trash cans on the streets?" We saw them off at Tameike-Sanno Station and parted ways.

In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
I am a certified CPA in the United States.
In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama, Gion, and Ninenzaka The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They were traveling around Japan by cruise ship from Yokohama and arrived in Kyoto near the end of their journey. It was everyone's first time visiting Kyoto. When deciding on the tour itinerary, the guests expressed that they wanted to see the bamboo grove in Arashiyama, visit Gion, and enjoy coffee at the Starbucks on Ninenzaka. They did not seem particularly interested in historical matters or temples and shrines, but during the tour I took opportunities to explain the characteristics of Japanese religion and Japanese architecture. Since one of the guests had taught architecture at a university, they were interested in Japanese timber frame techniques and the gegyo, a symbolic decorative element of Japanese architecture. Everyone seemed to love the bamboo grove, and regarding Gion, they felt that Gion Shirakawa was even nicer than Hanamikoji. One of the guests commented that walking around Kyoto allowed them to encounter historical and cultural buildings and monuments in each area and to experience Japanese culture, and that this was what set it apart from a bus tour. Hearing this, I felt it was truly worthwhile to have guided them.
