What Is a Private Day Tour of Himeji Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Himeji Castle and Engyoji Temple Today's guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. We met at Himeji Station and first went to the Castle View, where I explained an overview of Himeji Castle and the historical background of when it was built. After that, we purchased discounted round-trip tickets for the bus and ropeway to the Shosha Ropeway at the Shinki Bus Center, then visited Himeji Castle, Kokoen Garden, and Engyoji Temple on Mount Shosha, before returning to Himeji Station to end the tour. Today was a day that was neither too hot nor too cold. The sites were moderately crowded, but the guests were all in good spirits and enjoyed sightseeing while taking many photos. As a result, I believe it turned out to be a relatively well-executed tour.

Title: What's a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like With Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, and Harajuku? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. Their advance requests included stopping by a capybara cafe and taking rest breaks along the way, as one member of the group had difficulty walking. Regarding the capybara cafe, because there was a cancellation policy involved, I politely explained that they should make the reservation themselves. The guests agreed, and I received confirmation that the booking was completed three days before the tour. On the day, the guests were already standing by at the meeting point five minutes before the scheduled time. We reconfirmed the itinerary and began the tour. The guests had already visited Osaka and Kyoto and had downloaded the Suica app. Because of one member's walking condition, we focused on using elevators and escalators. As a result, we were able to approach the Kaminarimon Gate at Sensoji Temple from a different direction than usual, which felt fresh even for me as a guide. On Nakamise Street, the guests bought a large quantity of macadamia-nut bean snacks at a shop, and when I recommended sweet potato yokan, they each purchased one (they did not eat on the street but took it home). One member had been looking forward to Shine Muscat candy and purchased some as well (again taking it home rather than eating on the street). Although I had informed them that lunch was not included, since one member needed rest and a light snack due to their walking condition, I recommended a classic coffee shop on Shin-Nakamise Street, where we stayed about 30 minutes. While I waited outside, I purchased some taiyaki (custard and Naruto Kintoki sweet potato) that the guests had shown interest in, and gave it to them as a gift — partly because I wanted them to try taiyaki from a well-known shop, and partly as an apology since we ended up not visiting Tsukiji. After that, at the guests' request, we took a taxi to Meiji Shrine. Even though they had surely heard plenty about shrines and temples in Kyoto and Osaka, they listened attentively at Meiji Shrine just as they had at Asakusa. We then parted ways with smiles near the capybara cafe on Takeshita Street in Harajuku.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo's Yanesen District Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America, on what was effectively the first full day of an eight-day tour of Japan. Having only just arrived the day before, they walked energetically throughout the day despite the jet lag. In the Yanesen area, the group was amazed by the row of red torii gates at Nezu Shrine, and they enjoyed custard pudding and coffee at a cake shop along Hebi-michi (Snake Alley). After a delicious lunch at a vegan restaurant in the Ryusen area of Taito Ward, they visited the Yushukan museum at Yasukuni Shrine to learn about history.

Title: What's a Private Ueno and Akihabara Walking Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. The travel agency stubbornly refused to share the guests' contact details until 30 minutes before I met them. None of my emails had reached the guests, so we started with buying a PASMO card. One of the guests follows a gluten-free diet, and I understand that the agency wanted to add value, but the gluten-free information they had was not very substantial, and the information I had (including that of [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/)) was far more extensive. If they could not trust a [Japan Guide Agency](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide, I wondered why they requested a guide at all, but as long as they pay the guide fee, I suppose it is fine. The itinerary had been planned by the agency, and despite it being a Monday, it included places such as the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno. Since the museum was closed, after visiting Ueno Toshogu Shrine we headed toward Nezu via Shinobazu Pond, and it was nice to see the guests enjoying the ordinary streetscape along Shinobazu Street. As they were planning to go to Akihabara in the evening, I took them there, and the tour ended. I would like to add that the guests were very lovely people.

Hello! My name is Hideki Maruyama. I was born in Osaka and raised in the Greater Tokyo area. I obtained my National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter Certificate in February 2016.
I spent 23 years working at a leading Japanese automotive company, including 7 years posted overseas. I then worked for a German premium automotive manufacturer for 13 years, followed by 6 years as an advisor to a British energy company. Through these roles at global corporations, I developed and refined key skills such as:
    1. Cross-cultural communication
    2. A deep understanding of business elites and affluent customers
    3. The ability to deliver impactful and impressive presentations in English
In addition to my regular duties, I often served as an interpreter for top executives during meetings with foreign government officials. I also had opportunities to introduce aspects of Japan—such as our national character and consumer preferences—to leadership teams in both the German and British companies.
As a tour guide, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding guests from a wide range of countries especially after the pandemic, including the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Romania, Slovenia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Laos, Turkey, Jordan, Kenya and Israel.
When guiding, I always keep in mind to go beyond what guests can find on social media or ChatGPT. I believe my professional background allows me to offer unique insights, and I am encouraged when guests mention this in their reviews

Title: What's a Private One-Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. Some of them had been to Kyoto before, while others were visiting for the first time. I took the group to Fushimi Inari, Sanjusangendo, Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion), and Arashiyama (the bamboo grove and Nonomiya Shrine). Since it was a tour with a lot of travel time, I had planned it without a lunch break, but as one of the guests had not eaten since the previous afternoon, we stopped at a convenience store on the way to Kinkaku-ji so that everyone could have a light meal. (In situations like this, traveling by car is very convenient.) Some of the guests said that Kinkaku-ji left the strongest impression, even though it was crowded. Some of the younger guests said they liked the bamboo grove best. Fushimi Inari and Kinkaku-ji were very crowded with tourists, but since the roads were quite empty, we were able to move through the tour very smoothly. Thanks to this, I was glad we were able to have a light meal, even if it was just at a convenience store.

My name is (Mr.)Michiharu Aioi and I worked at Electronic Manufacturing Company (Panasonic) for more than 40 years in charge of overseas sales.
I learned a lot in these 40 years and now I would like to contribute to the promotion of mutual understanding with foreign countries being involved in tourism busines utilizing my long experience in my previous company. I will do my best to make each trip very fruitful for each foreign visitor.
As for my language ability, in addition to English, I can speak Spanish which I used in my job and I can communicate with Chinese people with intermediate level. Finally It is my great pleasure if my activity could work in the mutual understang with foreign visitors. Thanks a Lot !

Having recently begun traveling extensively, they were planning to board a cruise ship from Tokyo bound for another destination in Asia after their stay. There was an original itinerary planned, but since they had visited Arashiyama and Fushimi Inari early in the morning, they requested a change to our meeting place, and we arranged to meet at Sanjusangendo. We were able to meet without any trouble and adjusted the itinerary as noted above. Perhaps because it was the school trip season, everywhere was crowded with tour groups. Along the way, we had coffee in Gion and chatted about current political topics, which the guests brought up. When they mentioned that the IC card loaded onto their smartphone had stopped working, I accompanied them to the station nearest their hotel, and after fixing it we said our goodbyes.

Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, and Tsukiji The guests were visitors from Europe who enjoy traveling abroad several times a year. The day before, they had experienced a sushi-making class in Asakusa, visited Tokyo Tower, and been to teamLab. We started at the Imperial Palace. I guided them from Tokyo Station to Nijubashi Bridge. Next we went to Meiji Shrine. They seemed thoroughly charmed by its solemn atmosphere. After that, we strolled through the Tsukiji Outer Market. Since they had eaten sushi the day before, rather than going to a sushi restaurant, they wanted to try a variety of foods while walking around. They enjoyed a tasting of three kinds of tuna, fried corn, sirloin skewers, matcha, and strawberry daifuku. They were impressed that the tuna was so fresh and that the sirloin was meltingly tender. Finally, I took them to Hamarikyu Gardens. They enjoyed the contrast between the Japanese garden and the surrounding skyscrapers. The cosmos flowers were more in full bloom than when I had visited two weeks earlier. When I asked which spot they liked best, they said Meiji Shrine and the Tsukiji Outer Market. They said, "The Tsukiji Outer Market especially was so crowded that if we had come on our own, we would have struggled to decide which shop to enter and probably given up." I asked them to kindly write a review, and we parted ways at the Hotel.

What Is a Private Cultural Tour in Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests came from Europe and were deeply interested in Japanese culture and life in Japan, asking many fascinating questions in a variety of situations. They were of course interested in the sightseeing spots, gardens, and a matcha tea experience, but even more than that, they were curious about Japan from many different perspectives. We talked about a wide range of topics, including Japanese religion, the shogun and the imperial family, the modern working environment and vacation situation, female political leaders (former Chancellor Merkel and the newly selected party leader, who at the time had not yet been formally appointed prime minister), language, nature, and all kinds of things seen around town such as parking lots and signs. They also shared their reflections on the similarities between Germany and Japan. As a guide, it was an enjoyable experience and I learned a great deal.

Hello, my name is Yui, and I am a licensed tour guide interpreter.

I mainly guide visitors in and around Tokyo, where you can experience both the excitement of modern city life and the charm of traditional culture. Japan is a country where history and the present exist side by side, and this unique balance makes every visit full of discoveries. I believe there is always something that will capture your heart, whether it is food, fashion, history, or daily life in Tokyo.

Since I also work as a Japanese language teacher, I can help you learn a few simple phrases during the tour if you are interested. Using Japanese to greet or chat with locals will surely make your trip even more enjoyable and memorable.

I hope you will take home wonderful memories, and I sincerely wish you enjoy your stay in Japan.

Title: What's a Private Kanazawa Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, some of whom were visiting Japan for the third time and some for the first time. They were not staying at the meeting location itself; it was simply the nearest convenient spot to gather. Before the tour of Myoryuji Temple, I explained as much of the temple's historical background as possible so that the guests would not come away with the common misunderstanding that it is a "ninja temple." The original plan was to visit Kanazawa Castle Park and Oyama Shrine before ending at Omicho Market, but since the guests showed a strong interest in samurai culture, I guided them so that they could visit various spots in the Nagamachi Samurai District on their own in the afternoon, and then the tour concluded.
