    Title: What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Park Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led this private tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima. It was the last day of a three-day weekend during the autumn foliage season, so Miyajima was very crowded, but I guided the group while avoiding the crowds as much as possible, and they were very pleased. At Daisho-in Temple, the maple leaves were beautiful, and they took many photos. Two days before the tour, I received word that the guests were vegetarian, so I changed the lunch plan from okonomiyaki to a well-reviewed vegan restaurant. I had sent them information about the restaurant in advance, and they told me they had even gone there the night before the tour. They said that after seeing the menu they wanted to try many things and had wanted to visit twice, and they were very happy. Both guests were very interested in history and listened attentively at the Peace Park. The museum was very crowded as it coincided with a group, so we entered only the East Building together. Since they were very interested, I sent them tickets for 5:30 as well and let them know they could return to view the exhibits at their leisure if they had time. After the tour, the guests wanted to explore the city, so I told them about a vegetarian okonomiyaki restaurant and an izakaya with vegetarian menu options, and we ended the tour on Hondori Street. They said they would like to come back to Hiroshima again next year. At that time, they hoped to climb Mount Misen on Miyajima and said they would book this tour again.

    Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Before a Yokohama Cruise? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of friends visiting from Oceania. They had arrived in Japan the day before and wanted to spend one day sightseeing in Tokyo before boarding a cruise departing from Yokohama. Although it was an early morning start, soon after departure the guests were delighted to see Mount Fuji glowing in the morning sun from the car. Before our first destination, the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, opened at 9:00, we explored the area around the Imperial Palace so the guests could enjoy the scenery from various angles. In the East Gardens, one of the guests had some difficulty walking around the grounds, so we took our time exploring at a comfortable pace. In Ginza, one of the guests had requested in advance to purchase a used camera, and we also visited several places to buy a replacement suitcase after theirs was damaged upon arrival in Japan. In the end, we managed to accomplish both goals. After Hamarikyu Gardens, we headed to Nezu, which the guests had requested in advance. As it was right around lunchtime and we were a group, it took some effort to find a suitable place to eat, but we managed at a small Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. It was a very ordinary little local shop, but the guests actually liked it all the more for that, and since the food was delicious, they were very pleased. After that, at the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, the guests experienced the impressive energy of the spot on a holiday afternoon, and we finished the tour at the hotel.

    What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like for a Group New to Japan? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They had previously traveled around Asia, including Thailand and Vietnam, and this trip to Japan was decided largely because some of the guests were especially interested in Japan. Following a request for "places that the younger generation can enjoy," we visited spots that matched that theme, but the whole group was cheerful and lively, and everyone across the generations had a wonderful time together. At the same time, they intended to send video and photos of the trip as a birthday celebration for a family member who was not on this trip, so they were recording the journey throughout. The first of these was the group singing "Happy Birthday" together at the hotel and filming it on a smartphone. It was an upbeat day from start to finish. The day before this tour, right after arriving in Japan, they had joined a Shinjuku food tour, traveling by taxi between the hotel and Shinjuku. On this tour, we first purchased PASMO cards, and it was their first time riding the subway, with the guests enthusiastically photographing the trains from the station platform. What the guests were most interested in was eating. They wanted to try as many different kinds of food as possible, so they took on the challenge mainly along food streets, sharing dishes among the group. In Asakusa they tried strawberry daifuku, mitarashi dango, and matcha; in the Yanaka shopping street they tried menchi-katsu, cheese chicken fry, and a stick-shaped sweet baked snack; on Takeshita Street they tried strawberries on a stick coated in candy, and crepes. At a Kyushu Jangara ramen shop in Harajuku there was a line to get in, but they wanted to go anyway, so after waiting about 15 minutes they split up at the counter seats and each tried what they liked. One of the guests loves extremely spicy food and ordered something with a very high spice level. Everyone was very satisfied, saying it was "very delicious." Afterward, at Meiji Shrine, one of the guests stopped in front of the ema plaque rack, wrote a wish, and offered it. In addition to food, they sought experiences unique to Japan, and along with traditional ones such as drawing omikuji at Sensoji Temple, using the purification fountain, and worshipping at Meiji Shrine, they showed strong interest in the piglet cafe I introduced on Takeshita Street as part of modern culture. Since it was possible to enter without a reservation, they spent nearly 40 minutes there even though it was not on the plan. At one point eight piglets were sitting on the lap of one of the guests at the same time, many photos were taken, and it seemed to be a very satisfying and unique experience. According to the plan, the tour was supposed to end after taking them to Shinjuku, but since they had already done the Shinjuku experience, including the Godzilla head, the day before, we toured Shibuya, including Cat Street from the Harajuku side and the top floor of Miyashita Park, and we parted ways after they were amazed by the robot cafe inside FUKURAS.

    Title: What's a Private Walking Tour from Ueno to Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, and Ginza Like? A Licensed Guide's Report We met at the entrance of the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno, just as the guests had finished their visit. Since there had been no advance communication about where they wanted to go, we discussed it, and the guests requested: "We'd like to see many temples," "We'd like to visit Senso-ji Temple, Meiji Shrine, and the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, and we've already eaten, so no need for lunch." Given that, since Ueno Kaneiji Temple was only an 8-minute walk away, I asked, "There's Kaneiji Temple very nearby, which also has the burial grounds of the Tokugawa family. Would you like to visit it before going to Senso-ji?" The guests replied, "By all means," so we walked to Kaneiji and I guided them around the area of the main hall (Konpon Chudo). After the tour there, when I tried to hail a taxi, the guests called an Uber, and it turned out they had no Japanese yen. Since there is a convenience store directly across from a hotel near Senso-ji, we moved there to use the ATM. However, the guests could not recall their PIN code, so I received some US dollars in cash from the group and handed over 6,000 yen from my own funds. I was a bit worried about how they would manage afterward, but I felt somewhat relieved when I learned that one of the guests had a bank card at the hotel whose PIN they would remember. After finishing the tour of Senso-ji, although the guests had initially said they didn't need lunch, they said, "We've gotten hungry, so something light," and we had a light lunch at a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant near the Asakusa subway station. They were delighted, saying it was very delicious. However, since we were running behind schedule, and Meiji Shrine closes at 4:00 p.m., we would only have about 30 minutes there, so I suggested going to the Imperial Palace instead, and the guests agreed. We headed to the Imperial Palace Outer Garden. After guiding them to the statue of Kusunoki Masashige, I said, "Now let's head to Shibuya," but the guests asked, "How close is Ginza from here?" When I explained, "It's no more than about a 15-minute walk," they said, "Then we'd like to go to Ginza," so we decided to go there. Along the way, I guided them through the Shinji Pond garden in Hibiya Park, which they enjoyed very much. While resting on a bench there, I asked in detail about the purpose of this visit to Japan, and I learned that the main purpose of the trip was to be invited to lecture at a university in Niigata. So I asked, "Have you purchased your Shinkansen tickets?" and the reply was, "We'll be traveling tomorrow evening, so we'll buy them then." I said, "Tomorrow is the last day of a three-day weekend, and a great many people will be traveling, so it would be safer to buy them today. If you don't mind, shall I help you purchase them?" They said, "Oh, it's a three-day weekend? Then yes, please," so since it was also on the way to Ginza, we stopped at Yurakucho Station and I helped them purchase the Joetsu Shinkansen tickets. Then they said, "We'd like to go to the biggest department store in Ginza," so we went to Ginza Mitsukoshi, and before parting, I guided them through the food floor on B2, which they were very pleased with. They also told me an interesting story: "In the US, there aren't many department stores with such a large selection of prepared foods, but once Macy's in New York set up a corner like this aimed at single people, and it was a huge hit, because a flood of customers rushed to it (laughs)." After that, they planned to explore Ginza on their own and then head to their hotel in Ariake by Uber, so we parted ways. I changed the route considerably to match their requests along the way, but they were very pleased. Also, even though they had only just arrived in Japan the day before, they walked energetically without giving in to jet lag, and they were guests who made guiding a real joy.

    What Is a Private Naoshima Art Island Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe. They shared that they walk 8 km every day and about 16 km on their days off, so they were very strong walkers. Because of this, I was surprised to hear that the day before, on November 22, they had walked on their own from Naoshima Port to the Naoshima New Museum of Art and back. They had visited Japan three times before, and this trip they were traveling Tokyo → Kyoto → Osaka → Kurashiki → Okayama → Uno → Naoshima → Uno → Tokyo. When I asked why they were not going to Nara, they told me that they have six deer at home, so they did not particularly want to see more. When I asked if their house was large, they said the land was about 8 acres but the house itself was small. They were surprised at how much the number of tourists had increased everywhere compared to when they had visited two years earlier.     Title: What Is a Private Kanazawa Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was visiting Japan for the second time, traveling solo, and had stopped in Kanazawa on the way to Kyoto. It was the guest's first time visiting the Sea of Japan side of the country. In the Higashi Chaya District, the guest watched the final stage of gold leaf production at a specialty shop and enjoyed some shopping. The guests were both very warm and kind, which made it enjoyable and rewarding for me to guide them. I presented them with a handmade drawstring pouch, which they were delighted to receive. They mentioned that they wanted to visit the "Umeda Sky Building" near their hotel on their own later in the afternoon and evening, so I gave them a brochure and explained the way back, and we parted ways about 30 minutes early.

    I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good

    What's a Private One-Day Nagoya Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of three visiting from Europe. In the itinerary agreed upon in advance with the guests, the Tokugawa Art Museum had been included, but during the previous day's guiding I confirmed that, due to a special exhibition being held at the museum, there would be long waiting times both at the entrance and inside. Therefore, I proposed to the guests that we remove the Tokugawa Art Museum from the itinerary and add Atsuta Shrine instead, and they kindly agreed. As a result, we were able to cover the entire itinerary of Nagoya Castle, lunch, Tokugawa Garden, Oasis 21, and Atsuta Shrine within the scheduled time. Since crowds were also expected at lunch, we went to the restaurant early and were able to eat without any waiting time, but in just the roughly 40 minutes during our meal, a long line of people waiting formed in front of the restaurant. Overall, I believe the guests were satisfied with the tour.
