My name is Hiroshi Tsuji, a licensed guide based in Hiroshima and Miyajima. My family has been connected to Miyajima for more than 300 years, and I am pleased to share the history, culture, and daily life of this unique island with visitors from around the world. With a background in outdoor sports—including rock climbing, scuba diving, and long-distance triathlons—I have completed several Ironman races abroad. I studied in Kyoto and later worked in management at a publicly listed company, which allowed me to live in many different regions of Japan and develop a deeper understanding of the country’s diverse culture and history.
In Hiroshima, I guide guests through the Peace Memorial Park, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, and share perspectives on the history of Hiroshima and modern Japan.
In Miyajima, I introduce Itsukushima Shrine, Mount Misen, the island’s beautiful scenery, and its local cuisine. As someone whose family has been connected to Miyajima for generations, I also enjoy sharing local insights and experiences that offer a more personal connection to the island’s culture and way of life.

Title: What Is a Private One-Day Hakone Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were from North America. After visiting Japan last year and touring Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, they had come to love Japan so much that this time they came specifically to stay in Hakone. During their stay they took the shinkansen to Tokyo for sightseeing and shopping, and they planned to join a Mount Fuji tour afterward. This Hakone tour took place in between those activities. We first headed to Owakudani, where the guests were amazed by the volcanic scenery and were very satisfied after trying the local specialty. After taking the pirate ship to Motohakone Port, we made our way to Hakone Shrine. There I explained Shinto, the influence it has had on Japanese culture, and the way of worship, and the guests seemed deeply impressed, purchasing many good-luck charms. Unfortunately, due to the cloudy sky, we were unable to see Mount Fuji, but they were scheduled to join a Mount Fuji tour afterward. In the afternoon we visited a glass museum, where the guests, who love art, were delighted and also purchased a number of accessories.

What Is a Private Naoshima and Kansai Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe. It was their first time in Japan, and they planned to stay from around mid-to-late March. Their itinerary covered Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Naoshima, Hakone, and Tokyo. They had felt unwell with stomach trouble the previous day (they mentioned it might have been sushi they had eaten), but fortunately they had recovered by the day of the tour. When I asked why they had chosen Naoshima, they said it was for the art, and they listened very attentively to my explanations. During our conversation, I learned that they had actually built a private gallery on their own property, displaying various works, and they showed me photos of it on their phone. I was amazed by the size and quality of this private gallery. When I asked whether it was open to the public, they said they only showed it to acquaintances. The guests were very pleasant and kind, and it was a pleasure to guide them. They also seemed to have enjoyed themselves.

What Is a Private Tokyo Tour of Tsukiji and Asakusa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They were especially interested in fish, so they chose the Tsukiji Outer Market and Toyosu as destinations, but because we spent so much time in Asakusa, we ended up not visiting Toyosu Market this time. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, they asked many questions about various kinds of fish, as well as about a variety of food items. At Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple, many questions were raised about Buddhism and Shinto. After that, they wanted to see cherry blossoms in Asakusa, so we went to Asakusa before heading to Toyosu. When I explained the concept of honji suijaku at Senso-ji Temple and Asakusa Shrine, they were delighted. The cherry blossoms were still in bud.

What Is a Private Tokyo Tour to the Imperial Palace and Shibuya Like? A Licensed Guide's Report By the start of the tour the rain had mostly stopped, and the afternoon turned sunny, which the guests were happy about. It was a Monday, so the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace would normally be closed, but from the 21st to the 29th the Inui Street inside the Imperial Palace grounds, which is not usually open to the public, was specially opened, and along with this the East Gardens were also open. I had discussed with the guests that we would go to Inui Street if it was not too crowded, and to the East Gardens if it was crowded, but Inui Street was not very crowded, so we went there. The guests were pleased, saying they were lucky to have visited Japan at such a good time. The cherry blossoms were only about 30 percent in bloom, but there were also fully bloomed weeping cherry trees and others, so I believe they enjoyed it. As a guide I also wanted to show them Chidorigafuchi, but since I did not want one of the guests to get too tired, we headed straight to Shibuya after the Imperial Palace.

Title: What Is a Private Full-Day Walking Tour of Asakusa, Kappabashi, and Ginza in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe, and it was their first visit to Japan. They had arrived at Narita Airport the previous evening and taken a taxi to their Hotel. They remarked, "The taxi ride was extremely comfortable." The previous evening, they had enjoyed shabu-shabu for dinner in Ginza. This time, they were visiting Japan for a total of 18 days. After spending four days in Tokyo, they planned to travel around Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Hiroshima, and then depart from Kansai Airport. They said they were looking forward to "meeting the deer" in Nara. The tour took place in light rain. From the Hotel, we took the Hibiya Line and went to Asakusa via Ueno Station. Despite it being a weekday and rainy, there were large crowds. First, we took in a panoramic view of Asakusa from the observation deck of the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center. After that, we set off from the front of Kaminarimon Gate. I explained about "Sensoji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo," "what the five-story pagoda is for," "what Buddhism is," and "the difference between Buddhism and Shinto." We took commemorative photos at various spots, including Kaminarimon and in front of the five-story pagoda. We strolled slowly through the Nakamise shopping street. There were questions such as "What are the major religions in Japan?", "How many Buddhists are there in Japan?", and "Besides Buddhism, what other religions do people believe in?" There was also a question: "We see many people wearing kimono within the temple grounds—do you have to come to the temple in a kimono?" We moved by subway from Tawaramachi to the Kappabashi Kitchenware Street. As it was a day when many shops were closed, not all the stores were open, but about half were operating. One of the guests loved cooking and was very keen to buy a high-quality nakiri (vegetable) knife. After checking several shops, they finally purchased one. We then passed through the Tsukiji Outer Market on our way to the Hamarikyu Gardens. I explained about "the history and current state of the gardens." They said, "Japanese gardens are wonderful. I'm so glad we came." Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms had not yet bloomed. We walked back to Tsukiji Station and then went to Ginza. There were comments and questions such as "Tokyo is clean throughout the city, with no litter on the ground," "It's surprising that public restrooms everywhere are clean and free," and "There are no trash cans on the streets—why is that?" We parted ways at Ginza Station.

As a recent group travel record, in October 2023, we have a track record of guiding a group of 33 people from Singapore to Narita Airport transfer plus sightseeing in Tokyo.
Self-introduction:
In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
I am a certified CPA in the United States.
In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

What Is a Private Family Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Tokyo Tower I guided a group visiting from North America. The guests were very close and warm with one another, and it was heartwarming to be with them throughout the day. Because it was raining in the morning, I changed the order of the itinerary and started with Meiji Shrine and Takeshita Street, then moved on to the Inui Street passage and Kitanomaru Park after the rain stopped. The guests love animals, especially cats, so they were captivated not only by the animal cafe on Takeshita Street but also by the kittens at a pet shop, which they watched for a long time (truly lovely people). At Kitanomaru Park, a university graduation ceremony was taking place, so the guests were able to see many students dressed in traditional hakama, and they were delighted to take photos together with the students beneath fully bloomed weeping cherry blossoms (my thanks to the students who kindly agreed). It was a little disappointing, however, that the cherry blossoms at Chidorigafuchi were less than a third in bloom. For lunch we went to a family restaurant, and when three types of dishes were piled high across the whole table, everyone burst out laughing, saying "we surely don't need this much." During the meal, I taught them how to reserve Shinkansen tickets via SmartEx, and they registered on the spot. Finally, we went to Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower. It had been years since I last brought guests here, but I think this was the place everyone enjoyed the most that day. After leaving Shibakoen Station, for some reason everyone walked along in high spirits and took many photos with Tokyo Tower in the background. Seeing how much fun it was, I felt encouraged to bring guests here more often in the future. I had one of the guests take photos of the group with the weeping cherry blossoms and Tokyo Tower in the background. At Tokyo Tower we went up to the main deck, and in addition to the classic views of Rainbow Bridge and the surrounding area, the guests were pleased when I explained the Tokugawa family graves that we could not enter at Zojoji, as well as the people lining up at the staircase popular for photos. It was charming to see the whole group taking a commemorative photo on the glass floor on the lower level, all a little nervous. This was where the guide portion essentially ended, but I went together with them to Shibuya Station to purchase a Welcome Suica (since it was on my way home). I would like to thank the guests for such a cheerful and soothing time. During the tour, I lost count of how many times I said "you really are close" and "how kind you all are." At the end, the guests told me "everything you took us to today was wonderful" and "thank you," and I was truly glad they enjoyed it.

Title: What's a Private Kanazawa Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe on their first trip to Japan. Because National Route 158 was closed for through traffic on the way from Matsumoto, they were unable to go to Takayama and instead stayed overnight in Kanazawa. The day before, they had independently visited places I had previously introduced by email, such as Myoryu-ji Temple and the D.T. Suzuki Museum. Today's tour covered the planned locations as scheduled, and the guests enjoyed themselves. In the evening they planned to move on to Kyoto, so we returned to Kanazawa Station, where the tour ended.

What Is a Private Cherry Blossom Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Ueno, and Ginza The guests were visitors from North America. It was their first time in Japan, and the main purpose of their trip was to see the cherry blossoms. When they saw the weeping cherry tree at Sensoji Temple, they cheered while taking photos. For lunch they wished to try okonomiyaki, so we ate at a restaurant terrace, which was pleasantly uncrowded. Afterwards, we strolled through Ueno Park. The Somei-Yoshino cherry trees were only about 20–30% in bloom, but they seemed to enjoy the atmosphere of cherry blossom viewing. The guests also wished to purchase Imabari towels, so I took them to a shop in Ginza. The selection was excellent and they were very satisfied.
