What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Temple Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. They were longtime close friends who had traveled abroad together several times before, and cheerful laughter could be heard throughout the day. I guided them to a high-end pottery shop just before Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and they remarked that the atmosphere of the shop was like a museum. At Kiyomizu-dera, everyone drank the water at the Otowa Waterfall. At Sanjusangen-do, several double-flowered cherry blossoms were still blooming in the garden, and the guests were delighted to be able to see the cherry blossoms. For lunch, at the guests' request, they enjoyed Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. In the afternoon, we visited Nijo Castle before returning to the hotel. The guests were keen on collecting temple goshuin stamps, and they were pleased to receive goshuin at both Kiyomizu-dera and Sanjusangen-do.

Had a nice tour, enjoyed our time with Mrs. Asaka. I thought she did a really nice job explaining the history and Kyoto. She walked us through the local university campus and we saw the cafeteria on the way back to the train, and it was unexpectedly a highlight of the tour. It’s nice to see a glimpse into everyday life. Thank you
