What Is a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo's Historic East Side Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Following the guest's advance request, I focused the tour on the historic areas on the east side of Tokyo. Although it was the guest's first visit to Japan, they had studied Japanese history and culture, and listened to my explanations with great enthusiasm. The guest also asked so many questions that we did not have quite enough time to fully explore Ueno as originally planned. Since the guest had requested udon for lunch, I took them to a restaurant in Asakusa, and they were delighted, saying it was very delicious. Overall, I believe the guest was satisfied with the tour.

Hi, I am Nobu, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (English).
I have been an English guide in Tokyo area since January 2017.
Tokyo is a wonderful city, and you may enjoy this city by yourselves.
Even so, I recommend you go around with a guide, especially if it is your first time visit to Tokyo.
A good guide will help you to understand about Tokyo and Japan as well as how to use convenient but complicated public transportations more effectively.
I am glad if I can help you to make your tour more enjoyable.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo soon!

What Is a Private Toyosu Market and Tsukiji Walking Tour Like in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report At 7:00, I met the guests at the ticket gate of Shijo-mae Station on the Yurikamome Line and used the map in front of the station to explain an overview of Toyosu Market. When I asked whether they were ready to walk a long distance since we would be going back and forth inside the market, they gave a bright and confident reply: "We walk 20,000 steps every day, so we'll be fine!" While touring Toyosu Market, I explained the tuna auction process and the reasons for the relocation from Tsukiji. Next, we moved to the wholesale market building, briefly toured the first-floor shops, and then had a sushi breakfast. I guided the guests to a sushi restaurant I had learned about during training, where they thoroughly enjoyed fresh sushi and were very satisfied. After that, we moved to Tsukiji. Strolling through the outer market, the guests greatly enjoyed a food tour with sweets and fresh oysters, as well as souvenir shopping for kitchen knives and Japanese tableware. When I explained the meaning of the phrase "sake is the best of all medicines" written on a large, purely Japanese-style sake flask, the guests were delighted and happily bought it. The weather was fine, and it was a walking tour that the guests were very satisfied with.

What Is a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nijo Castle and Ryoan-ji The guests were quite knowledgeable about Japan and asked eagerly about its history and culture. We had in-depth conversations about the film SHOGUN and old folk tales they had heard long ago, and it was a truly enjoyable time for me as a guide as well. The guests were deeply impressed by the fusuma paintings and decorations in the Ninomaru Palace of Nijo Castle, and they listened attentively to even the finest details of my guiding. Ryoan-ji had fewer visitors than the other two sightseeing spots, so the guests were able to enjoy its relaxed atmosphere. At the end, the guests wished to visit Doshisha University, where one of them had studied for a short two-month program the previous year, and we said our goodbyes in front of the university entrance.

I was born and raised in Osaka and now I live in Nara where the history of Japan began, so I am familiar with historic sites such as shrines, temples, castles, traditional wooden townhouses, and so on. I like to guide historic and cultural places such as Kyoto, Nara, Koyasan, Himeji which were designated as world heritage sites. I am a trainee of chado, tea ceremony so I am knowledgeable about Japanese traditional culture related to zen.
I also like to introduce Japanese food culture in Nishiki in Kyoto or Doubonbori in Osaka. I have guided Nishiki and Kuromon market many times and many guests enjoy a food tour with me.
I try to make you feel comfortable and enjoyable during the tour. I hope you’ll have a great time with me and enjoy Japan!

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Osaka's Dotonbori Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan. As some members had difficulty walking, we proceeded at a slow pace, and at a couple of spots part of the group waited near the entrance while the rest went partway in. Some of the guests showed great interest in each spot, while others seemed to focus mainly on getting through the itinerary, and a few were absorbed in their phones throughout. At the final stop in Dotonbori, some of the guests said they were too tired to keep walking, so we ended the tour a little earlier than planned. I felt somewhat apologetic about the pace given the walking involved. After the tour, I sent some photos, and the reply I received said they were sorry for ending early and that they had enjoyed the tour, which reassured me. I had explained beforehand that the tour would involve walking and many stairs, but it seems this had not been fully understood.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.
    Doomo Arigato Gozaimasu!

What Is a Private Family-Friendly Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Harajuku, and More The guests were a group from North America. Some of the group had visited Japan before, so they wanted to show the others temples, shrines, and modern spots around Tokyo. At Tsukiji, the group enjoyed sampling street food as they walked around. The group liked Harajuku very much and mentioned that after the tour they wanted to have Jangara ramen and then explore the area again. They were surprised by how crowded every place was and by how clean the town was. Since there was not enough time to exchange the Japan Rail Pass, I explained that they should bring their passports so they could exchange it the next day.

What Is a Private Day Tour of Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from South America, and they were very cheerful and often shared jokes throughout the tour. Today the walking pace was slow, so we adjusted the plan accordingly. Originally, the plan was to visit the Great Torii Gate of Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine, then return to the city to see Hiroshima Castle and Shukkeien Garden. However, after we met, the guests said they had seen a website showing how beautiful Daishoin Temple was and wanted to visit there. Also, on the train heading to Miyajima, when I handed over a map of the island, the guests said they wanted to take the ropeway up Mount Misen to enjoy the view from the mountain as well. As a result, the day became a full day of sightseeing in Miyajima. Since the walking pace was slow, the guests suggested using a taxi on Miyajima, so I called a taxi company, but I found out that recently there is only one taxi available on the island. Nevertheless, by combining walking and the taxi, we were able to complete the Miyajima tour just as the guests had hoped. For lunch, they enjoyed fresh oysters very much. The guests kindly told me that it had been a very fulfilling day.

Title: What Is a 6-Hour Private Walking Tour of Koyasan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report After meeting up, the guests said they were hungry, so we headed to a shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) restaurant. After lunch, I took plenty of time to guide them through Kongobuji Temple, the head temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect of Buddhism. The guests had a deep interest in Japanese religion and listened attentively to my explanations all the way through. They also asked questions such as the differences between esoteric Buddhism and other Buddhist denominations, which made me reflect on how I could explain these topics more clearly in the future. I believe they were also delighted with our stroll around Okunoin, as we were blessed with good weather. This was a 6-hour local guiding tour, so I also showed them the Daimon Gate and Nyonindo of Koyasan. It was the first time I had taken a photo of guests at the Koyasan Daimon Gate. Since the guests kindly gave their consent for promotional use, I am sending the guest photo.

Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Nara Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kasuga Taisha and Local Cuisine The guests were a very cheerful group. They listened sincerely to everything I explained, and since they had said they wanted to try something unique to Nara for lunch, I took them to my top recommendation, Hiraso. Because we went without a reservation, we waited about 20 minutes, but during the wait they looked over the English menu and decided on their order in advance. What they actually ordered was a very large platter of assorted sushi and a set menu featuring kakinoha-zushi (persimmon leaf sushi). They were delighted, repeatedly saying how delicious it was. Although they seemed a little tired, I trusted their reply that they were fine, and we headed to Kasuga Taisha. The English spelling of Mt. Mikasa happened to match the name of today's guests. They were very pleased, and at the end of the tour they said they were amazed and had a wonderful time thanks to such a big surprise.

I should have given up guiding. During the Covid, I’ve read many books and made my own materials to explain Japanese culture, history, etc. I love guiding because the guests expand my horizon all the time and let me know their own country and culture, etc. It is really important for us all to know each other and respect each other to make this world peace. Thank you for coming to Japan! Let’s enjoy Japan together!

**Title:** What's a Private Tsukiji Food Walking Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report **Body:** Although I felt some concern because there had been no reply from the guests before we met, they had carefully read the messages I sent, and they told me they had been looking forward to the food walking in Tsukiji. In Tsukiji, the guests enjoyed sampling food and showed great interest in Japanese fish and ingredients. They had a wonderful time, bought plenty of souvenirs, and were very pleased. It was a hot day, but we walked a great deal while talking about cultural differences and other topics. On the way back, we booked their Narita Express tickets for the following day together before parting ways.

Hello, I’m Yukie Tachibana, national licensed tour guide living in Yokohama with my family. Please call me Yuki. I have been working as a tour guide for 5years mainly around Tokyo, Kanagawa, for example, Hakone, Kamakura, Yokohama and Kawasaki. I have had an experience of attending a lot of foreign visitors from all over the world in both private and group tours for sightseeing and business in one to multi-days. I’m able to arrange the tour for you, so please feel free to ask me your favorite plan in Japan as to spot, food and some activities. I like to see Buddhist statues in temples so I’d like to introduce our history and culture. Also because I like Japanese animation and character, and animals, I can take you to some shops for the animation and animal cafes that are so popular among tourists. Looking forward to seeing you soon and share wonderful time in Japan! Thank you.
