Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Owakudani, Lake Ashi, and Mount Fuji This was the final sightseeing destination of the group's trip to Japan. Hoping to make their last day memorable, I was pleased that Mount Fuji greeted us at Owakudani, and the azalea garden of a lakeside hotel welcomed us with its finest colors. Mount Fuji even peeked out a little, keeping up Hakone's reputation. The fresh greenery had come in, and the guests said it looked just like their home region, so they thoroughly enjoyed the scenery from aboard the pirate ship on Lake Ashi. The guests were not familiar with the trick boxes (himitsu-bako) from a local shop, so it made for a perfect introduction and they enjoyed the presentation. We spent an enjoyable time together, including a soba lunch full of laughter and cheerful conversation among the group. To celebrate a happy occasion for the guests, we marked it with our usual celebration board.

Title: What Is a Private Afternoon Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nijo Castle Body: [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private afternoon tour in Kyoto for the guests. Although the tour was scheduled to start at 13:00, at the guests' request we began 30 minutes earlier. The guests had a strong interest in Japan and listened very attentively throughout the tour. In preparing to guide them around Nijo Castle, I researched in advance the historical connection between Japan and Europe, and when I shared this, the guests were very pleased. In addition to the standard explanations, I was reminded that explanations tied to the guests' own region are received with great interest. As the peak holiday season had ended, both destinations we visited were uncrowded, which was fortunate.

Hello, my name is Mizuho Yoshikawa. Please call me Mizu and my name means rice and water in Japanese.
I’ve been a tour guide more than 200 times since the spring of 2023 in Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Wakayama and Kochi. My tour is always original and new, depending on the guest’s preferences, encounters, seasons and weather.
In Kyoto, one of my tours is to climb Mt. Kurama. It is about 1 hour from the city of Kyoto by train, it is a very quiet and beautiful mountain.
In Osaka, which is called the kitchen of Japan, I am also in charge of food tour.
In Nara, in addition to the Great Budda Hall, I guide guests to the temple with a really great view and Japanese wine, sake tasting.
Every city has a unique charming point.
The motto of my guiding is ” Ichigo Ichie” Once in a lifetime or seize the day. I learn this concept that the moment will never be the same again through tea ceremonies.
I like a tea ceremony that is part of the traditional Japanese culture and embodies the spirit of “omotenashi” or hospitality. Through the tea ceremony, we can feel the spirit of “omotenashi” that has been passed down to us from ancient times.
And I like to travel abroad and domestically, and I have been to 13 overseas countries and most of the prefectures in Japan. Traveling always gives me a new perspective, which is exciting and thrilling. Nowadays, we can learn a lot from the Internet, but traveling teaches us that it is important to have direct experience. When I travel, I feel that my five senses are infinitely expanded, and through my tour, I help all guests to have the same feeling in Japan.
I was born and raised in Kanagawa Prefecture, which is next to Tokyo Prefecture in eastern Japan. When I was little, I could see Mount Fuji from my backyard. There was also a rice field nearby, and I grew up listening to the croaking of frogs. Listening to the frogs and seeing the mountains made me feel very calm.
I moved to the city of Kobe, one of the Kansai areas in western Japan, which includes Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and so on. I’m not from the Kansai area of western Japan, but I think that makes me sensitive to the differences between that area and the Kanto area, Tokyo, where I grew up.
Speaking of Kobe, you might be thinking of Kobe beef. Of course you do. There are also other sake breweries in Nada in Kobe. You can also go from Kobe city to Himeji Castle, also known as the White Egret Castle, which was the first in Japan to be listed as a World Heritage Site in 1993.
Let’s meet and enjoy Japan together!

Title: What's a Private Car Tour of Tokyo Like on a Cruise Stopover? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan from North America, and this was a private car tour on their second day in Japan. The following day they were scheduled to board a cruise ship from Yokohama Port. There was some congestion until we got onto the expressway on the way out, but after that everything went smoothly, and with relatively light traffic in the city as well, we were able to keep to schedule. Since the guests mentioned they wanted plenty of time at the Tokyo National Museum, I allotted 1 hour and 20 minutes there. For lunch we went to a small sushi restaurant, which was very delicious and which they called a hidden gem. The guests were quiet, but they were very pleased and said it was an enjoyable tour, and it concluded without any issues. The driver was cooperative and kind, which was a great help.

Hello!! I’m Takako. Thank you for seeing my page. I’ve been showing guests around Tokyo, Yokohama and Kamakura for over six years. There are various things from historic sites, shrines and temples to cultural spots, good restaurants and anime shops in Japan.
I love watching sumo wrestling, Japanese traditional sport.
My favorite place is Tsukiji food market. It’s really exciting and you can enjoy a variety of delicious foods.
I also like visiting Japanese gardens such as Hama-rikyu Gardens and Rikugien Gardens.
Please let me know what interests you.
I would be happy to make a suitable tour for you and help you stay in Japan comfortably.
    Looking forward to meeting you!!

Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Tour Ending at Fushimi Inari Shrine Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group of friends visiting from North America. From the very first email, I had been consulted about their wish to include a special moment at Fushimi Inari Shrine, and after exchanging various ideas, we arranged for the tour to conclude there. At the N-agari-no-Matsu pine, which is usually crowded with people, there was surprisingly no one around at all, which I thought was quite unusual, and it was there that the special moment took place. It felt almost as if the deity of Fushimi Inari Shrine had arranged it. Witnessing this for the first time moved me deeply, and I could not hold back my tears. I offered my heartfelt congratulations to the group.

Title: What's a Private Day Trip from Tokyo to Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari The guests were visitors from Oceania who were taking a day trip from Tokyo to Kyoto before boarding a cruise ship departing from Yokohama. They had requested visits to Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari Shrine. During the tour, since walking up slopes proved difficult for one of the guests, I arranged an itinerary that minimized physical strain as much as possible. At Kiyomizu-dera, we managed this by taking a taxi up to the far end of Chawanzaka slope, and the guests enjoyed a panoramic view of Kyoto city. At Fushimi Inari Shrine, one of the guests rested partway along the shrine grounds while the other visited the Senbon Torii and the bamboo grove. Before catching the shinkansen back to Tokyo at Kyoto Station, we had lunch at an okonomiyaki restaurant, where the guests enjoyed trying okonomiyaki for the first time. This tour was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures. Title: Can You Do a 4-Hour Private Miyajima Tour from Hiroshima? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests staying at a hotel in Hiroshima City requested a 4-hour Miyajima tour. Since spending time traveling from the city to Miyajima within only 4 hours would be a waste, I suggested meeting directly at Miyajima and provided guidance on how to get there, which the guests greatly appreciated. They wanted to take the ropeway up Mount Misen and go hiking, but since some of the guests found walking difficult, we used the free shuttle bus to the ropeway ticket counter. The guests who found walking difficult stayed at the Shishiiwa Observatory while the rest of the group climbed up to Reikado Hall. The weather was wonderful and the guests were very satisfied.

Hello, I’m Kyoko, a certified regional interpreter-guide for Hiroshima Prefecture. I was born, educated, and worked in Hiroshima while raising my children, and I absolutely love this city. I have a deep interest in learning about history and culture, and I enjoy exploring the city and trying out local foods. Meeting people from diverse backgrounds and chatting with them brings me great joy, so I’m really looking forward to helping make your trip to Hiroshima a wonderful and memorable experience.

Hiroshima is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine. The Atomic Bomb Dome is a poignant reminder of history, standing gracefully within a beautiful park. Walking through the park together, we can reflect on the powerful message of peace it conveys. Itsukushima Shrine, famous for its red torii gate floating in the sea, is located on a picturesque island. It’s a place where you can enjoy a truly relaxing and serene time.

I can also guide you to other popular tourist destinations, help you enjoy Hiroshima’s local delicacies such as okonomiyaki, oysters, and conger eel, or assist you with shopping.

I will do my utmost to ensure that your trip to Hiroshima becomes a wonderful and unforgettable memory.

Hello, my name is Sei, a tour guide of Hiroshima, aged 77, quite an old man. But don’t worry, I can compete with young men in walking.

Since the beginning of this year, I have given tours to 588 tourists from overseas, I enjoy giving the tour at the two world cultural heritage sites in Hiroshima, the Miyajima Island with the magnificent shrine built over the sea, and the Atomic Bomb Dome in the Peace Memorial Park.
Giving the tour at the Peace Park is more meaningful to me than other sites. The Peace Park is a place of thought-provoking. There, you will further strengthen your awareness of peace.

Some day in the near future, I will be accompanying you in Hiroshima as your tour guide.
    Till then, by now.

Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on a First Visit to Japan Body: The guests were visiting from Europe, and since this was their first time in Japan, they left the entire plan up to me. One of them spoke English well, while the other was not very comfortable with English and listened to real-time interpretation through earphones. At first, one of the guests kept looking at their phone even while I was talking, and I wondered what they were looking at — it turned out to be the translated text from a simultaneous interpretation app (my English into their language), and once I realized this, I found it rather amusing. The guests were very versatile and multi-talented, running businesses in different fields. One of them enjoyed conversation and talked at length about the current political and economic situation in their home region. While standing before a dry landscape garden at a Zen temple, I was explaining how one empties the mind and frees oneself from the mundane world, but somehow the topic drifted to the economy, heavy taxation, and pension policies back home, and how the middle class was losing motivation. In the end, the conversation strayed from the essence of Zen to cars and to predictions about the future, and I could no longer steer it back to the dry landscape garden. The guests were deeply moved by the Thousand-Armed Kannon at Sanjusangen-do. One of the guests took photos in the restroom at Sanjusangen-do of a child-sized toilet and maternity-friendly facilities and showed them to me, saying how impressive it was. From there the conversation turned to washlet toilets and the pleasant warm water, and it became a very lively discussion. So, while I personally felt I wanted to explain more about the content and found it a little unsatisfying in that respect, the atmosphere was very lively and I believe the guests were very happy, so I too spent a very enjoyable day.

What Is a Private Mount Fuji Day Tour Like with a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe on a family trip. We had been in contact by email from the time of the initial booking, and since they had agreed for me to accompany them in their rental car as their guide, the itinerary proceeded smoothly. Because we had discussed the places to visit in advance by email, we were able to keep almost exactly to schedule. Although it was the last day of the Golden Week holiday and Japanese visitors were noticeable at each destination, we did not experience any traffic congestion or waits for parking, so we were able to spend plenty of time at each stop. English was not necessarily their strongest language, so there were some moments when communication was a little difficult, but they were a very pleasant group, and the tour proceeded in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. At Oshino Hakkai I offered them the local specialty kusa-mochi, and after lunch I bought them "Yukimi Daifuku" ice cream at a convenience store, which they enjoyed and found delicious. They also seemed to be very fond of the local dish hoto. At the end, they thanked me many times and told me they were truly glad I had been their guide. Overall, I believe they were very satisfied.

Title: What's a Private Kobe Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arima Onsen and the Herb Garden I had been coordinating the itinerary with the guests' travel agency, and today I arranged the tour according to the guests' requests. As some of the guests found it difficult to walk long distances, we used taxis for transportation at their request. Since the guests wished to visit the Arima Onsen town, enjoy a footbath there, and see a herb garden, we first headed to Arima. The guests very much enjoyed the atmosphere of the hot spring town and the footbath at Gin no Yu. They also strolled around the herb garden, taking in the scenery and the flowers, and fully appreciated the charm of Kobe. The guests were very fond of Kobe, and I was truly delighted.
