What Is an Early-Morning Toyosu Fish Market and Tsukiji Private Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests gathered at a very early hour, and since the Hotel was relatively close to Toyosu Market, we were able to arrive 20 minutes before the auction. However, on this day the auction started a little late and ended just past 6:35, and because we took a restroom break at Toyosu, our arrival at Tsukiji was slightly delayed. There had been a prior request to be shown how to use the trains, and since the guests' IC cards needed to be topped up, we traveled from Toyosu to Tsukiji using the Yurikamome and the Tokyo Metro. For breakfast, I guided the guests to the main branch of a well-known sushi restaurant in Tsukiji. Since the guests were a group, it seemed more suitable to go to a larger restaurant in Tsukiji where dishes could be shared at a spacious table. After breakfast, I gave the guests a full walkthrough of the outer market, and we parted ways once we returned to Namiyoke-dori.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. First, we went to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, where the irises were in full bloom, looking beautiful, and the guests took many photos. Next, we headed to Akihabara, where one of the guests was very interested in the game arcades; they did not play themselves, but enjoyed watching other visitors play. We then went to Asakusa, where the guests were surprised by the crowds, but took many photos of Kaminarimon, Hozomon, the five-story pagoda, and more. Finally, I took them to the Skytree, where we parted ways.

What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Sushi, and Shinjuku I guided the guests based on the requests they had shared in advance. Although it was a little hot, we were blessed with good weather, and I believe they were fully satisfied. At Meiji Shrine, we happened to come across a wedding ceremony, which delighted them greatly (at Meiji Shrine, you can usually see a wedding ceremony if you visit on a weekend). Since they had requested sushi for lunch, I took them to a sushi restaurant in Shinjuku, but as it was a Saturday it was busier than usual and we had to wait about 20 minutes. Even so, they were able to experience a typical Japanese sushi restaurant, and combined with the friendliness of the staff, they were very pleased. Finally, I showed them Golden Gai and Godzilla Road, and we ended the tour in Shinjuku. It was a relaxing experience to guide these guests.

What Is a Private Family-Friendly Day Tour of Nagano Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. I designed the itinerary carefully so that everyone in the group could enjoy the day. Some of the guests enjoyed shopping for pencils and other items at an old-fashioned stationery shop, eating shaved ice at a flea market, and trying the roller slide at a park. The guests were very kind, saying that if I thought something was good, it must be good, and they fully enjoyed the visit I arranged to Zenkoji Temple, a tea house (amazake), an art museum, and a park. We were blessed with perfect clear weather, and since it was a weekend the town was very lively, allowing the guests to thoroughly enjoy a glimpse of a holiday in a regional city. The guests repeatedly said how beautiful Nagano was.

Nice to meet you. My name is Emi F., and I am a licensed guide interpreter specializing in English. I was born and have lived and worked in Nagano, where I am especially knowledgeable about the northern, eastern, and central regions of the prefecture. After retiring early from a career in teaching, I began working as a guide interpreter in 2021. Since then, I have had the pleasure of guiding many visitors to some of my favorite places, including Nagano, Matsushiro, Togakushi, Matsumoto, Azumino, Yamanouchi, Obuse, Nozawa-onsen, Suzaka, and Karuizawa, among others. I have a deep appreciation for the diverse foods harvested in Nagano and am committed to providing a flexible and enjoyable experience for my guests. Additionally, upon request, I can also guide you in Kanazawa, Nagoya, Nara, and Kyoto. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and to share a memorable and enjoyable tour together.

What Is a Private Guided Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests visited Hiroshima for two days during their trip through Asia. Both were very energetic and walked a great deal, and they finished a whole okonomiyaki for lunch. We were able to explore Miyajima at a relaxed pace before it started to get crowded. The guests were very fond of Daisho-in Temple. There happened to be something being burned, creating quite a bit of smoke, and according to a monk it was an orizuru memorial service to honor the paper cranes dedicated at the Peace Park. The guests were interested in the nature of religion in Japan and asked many questions. At the Peace Park, they took an interest in the survivors of the atomic bombing and the range affected by radiation. Our conversation flowed easily across a wide variety of topics. It finally began to rain around the time we headed to the Hotel, so we were fortunate with the weather. The guests treated me like a friend, and it became a tour for which I felt very grateful.

Hi, I’m Kahori, a nationally licensed tour guide, and delighted to show people around this area. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors.
Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called “art islands” which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival “Setouchi Triennale”. In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers.
I look forward to meeting you, interacting with you, and also, learning from you!

Can You Do a Private Day Trip Around Kyoto's Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, and Nijo Castle? A Licensed Guide's Report At first it was difficult to get in touch, but since the request was a rather general one — wanting to visit a shrine in addition to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove — I proposed an itinerary of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, and Nijo Castle. Because part of the group tended to walk ahead while others followed behind, I was a little unsure which pace to focus my guiding on. In addition, since one of the guests seemed tired from lack of sleep in the morning, I guided while being mindful of that. After lunch in Arashiyama, the guest recovered considerably, and the group showed relatively strong interest in Nijo Castle. On the way to Nijo Castle, the group had apparently already visited Osaka Castle and Himeji Castle, but felt that Osaka Castle was more like a museum than a castle, and that Himeji Castle offered little other than climbing up to the top. In contrast, Nijo Castle features beautiful painted sliding doors, magnificent transom carvings, and displays of figures that evoke the era, and the group was very moved by it. Since the group planned to do some shopping at the Nijo Castle gift shop, we said our goodbyes there.

Since then, I worked as an interpreter or a translator in several companies, secretary at universities, and now work for a company on weekdays at the international dept.I do guiding job only weekend now. I started full swing guiding career after COVID-19 pandemic. I have gotten good review from many of my guests. I love my hometown, Kyoto which has a lot of interesting and historical sites to see. Particularly, I am native to Arashiyama which is famous for bamboo forest. So, I know a lot of places where you can relax yourself around this area. Other than that, Kyoto has many attractive sites which surely interest you. Also, I like meeting many people from different cultural background. I am very happy if I learn about your culture as well. What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Tsukiji, and Asakusa The guests this time were a group of four from Europe, and some of them did not seem very comfortable with English. One member of the group was fluent in English and kindly interpreted my explanations as needed for the rest of the group. The spots they had mentioned in advance by email were Tokyo Skytree, Akihabara, Meiji Shrine, and Asakusa. However, since they told me they had already visited Skytree and Akihabara the day before, I added Tsukiji to the itinerary instead. I had thought we might end up with some extra time, but because we also strolled through the inner garden at Meiji Shrine, we were able to finish the tour almost exactly on schedule. This was the first time I had visited the inner garden of Meiji Shrine during a regular tour. It happened to be the season when the iris flowers were just beginning to bloom, so the timing for a walk was excellent. The sushi restaurant we chose for lunch in Tsukiji was also generally well received. After finishing the tour of Asakusa, we concluded the day and parted ways at Ueno-hirokoji Station on the way back.

Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Meiji Shrine The guests were visitors from North America. They arrived in Japan on the 5th, but had initially thought they would arrive on the 4th. It seems they had not fully accounted for the date change when crossing the International Date Line. Because they had planned to arrive on the 4th, this tour was originally scheduled for the 5th, but it was later changed to the 8th. After Tokyo, they planned to visit Kyoto, Osaka, and Okinawa, staying in Japan for about two weeks in total. We visited Tsukiji, Asakusa, Shinjuku Gyoen, and Meiji Shrine. It was a sunny Saturday with fairly large crowds, but the guests enjoyed the day, taking photos and videos along the way. At Tsukiji they bought a tote bag and T-shirts, and at Senso-ji Temple they purchased amulets. They spent around 10,000 yen in total, including a prayer-bead charm costing as much as 5,000 yen, which surprised me a little. When we reached Shibuya Station, the nearest station to the Hotel, the guests said they could return to the Hotel on their own, so we parted ways there. They seemed very satisfied with the tour, and we said goodbye with a hug at the end.

Title: What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Layover Tour at Haneda? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Asia making use of a stopover at Haneda Airport, on a tour that included a vehicle. Since there was time between their early morning arrival and the start of the tour, I set the meeting point at a coffee shop in the arrival lobby. A family member based in North America had arranged the entire tour. The guests wished to visit Tokyo Skytree, and since it was a Saturday, I explained that without an advance reservation they would have to queue at the ticket counter. As soon as I did, tickets for 10:30 were arranged online, and everything went smoothly. The guests had brought their own food and did not wish to dine out, so we had a light lunch at a park near Tokyo Skytree. They were able to enjoy the main highlights of Tokyo in a short amount of time.

So I might have visited your country and still remember a few words.
