    Family Private Tour in Tokyo from Europe: What's It Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. When they did not appear in the hotel lobby, I was a little concerned, but it turned out they had overslept due to jet lag, so we started about 20 minutes late. It was a very hot day, so walking from Nijubashi Bridge to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace seemed quite tiring for them (Nijubashi Bridge had also been a request). One of the guests seemed to enjoy history and listened attentively, while the rest of the group appeared a little tired.

    What Does a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Asakusa The guests were a group visiting from North America. During the hotel meet-up, we reviewed the itinerary, which included a tea ceremony experience reserved for 3:00 PM. The guests mentioned that they had already visited the main gate of the Imperial Palace and wished to go to Akihabara instead. I happily agreed and we began the tour. It was their second day of the stay, and they had already downloaded Suica. At Shinjuku Gyoen we spent about an hour, and at Meiji Shrine one of the guests wanted a goshuin stamp and waited in line for 10 to 15 minutes. On Takeshita Street in Harajuku, the guests enjoyed Korean snacks. On Cat Street in Omotesando, I recommended matcha drinks. With the temperature and humidity both high, we were able to take a relaxed 20-minute break. Due to time constraints, we skipped Akihabara and headed to Asakusa. We walked through Nakamise Street and the grounds of Senso-ji Temple, then proceeded to the tea ceremony experience. All of the guests seemed intrigued and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and afterward we parted ways in front of the main hall of Senso-ji Temple.

    Title: What Is a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Covering Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America, all for the first time. One of the guests was studying Japanese, mentioning, "I am studying Japanese history and can speak a little Japanese." While walking along Takeshita Street, they said, "We would like to come to a cat café tomorrow." After that, we moved to Shibuya and crossed the Scramble Crossing. They commented, "The whole city is clean and beautiful," and "The subway is quiet, and no one is being noisy. However, it is too complicated and hard to understand. I realized it is far safer than the subway back home." We parted ways at Shibuya Station.

At Meiji Shrine, they asked, "What is this torii gate for?" "What kind of teachings does Shinto have?" and "How is Buddhism different from Shinto?" They also asked, "What was the power relationship between the Emperor and the Shogun?" "Do Japanese people respect the Emperor and the Imperial family?" and "Why did the Meiji Restoration happen?" We took a light meal and rested at the café near Meiji Shrine. We strolled along Takeshita Street. They said, "We'd like to come to a cat café tomorrow." After that, we moved on to Tokyo Tower. They said, "Now I really understand what a vast city Tokyo is." They also commented, "The whole city is clean and beautiful," and "The subway is quiet and no one is being noisy.     What Is a Private Kyoto Garden Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama and Kinkaku-ji The guests were a group visiting from Europe. The instructions had indicated a 9:00 meeting at a guest service center, but it turned out that the guests were actually staying at a Hotel in the Tambaguchi area. On short notice, I had the guests take the JR line directly to Sagano-Arashiyama, and we were able to meet at Saga-Arashiyama Station on the scheduled train as planned. I believe this worked out well because the guests were experienced travelers who followed the instructions, and because we had been in frequent contact through a messaging app. We visited the classic garden route, including the Tenryu-ji garden, Okochi Sanso Villa, Ryoan-ji, and Kinkaku-ji with its garden. I believe they enjoyed themselves. The rainy season seemed about to end, and toward the end I think they were a little tired from the heat.

    What Is a Private Family-Friendly Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private one-day tour of Tokyo for a group visiting from Europe. After meeting the guests at their accommodation, the tour began with a walk through the Yanaka district. The guests were on a stopover in Japan on their way to another destination in Asia, and had very little prior knowledge of Japan. At the request of one of the guests, the guide made a reservation at a character-themed cafe (with payment left to the guests directly after use), where the group spent a little over an hour. The itinerary changed between the initial plan and the actual tour, and at the guests' request we visited Meiji Shrine and Harajuku. In Harajuku, some of the guests enjoyed shopping, and I guided them to a cat cafe, where they stayed for about 30 minutes. One of the guests did not seem particularly interested in Japanese culture and spent much of the time on their smartphone, though they responded when spoken to. I successfully guided the group to a halal BBQ restaurant in Shibuya, where we parted ways.

    What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided the group visiting from Oceania. Since we visited Miyajima early in the morning, there were still few tourists, and the guests enjoyed the sightseeing in a quiet environment. The guests especially enjoyed photography as a hobby, stopping here and there to take pictures. For lunch, we had okonomiyaki at a homey local restaurant near Shin-Hakushima. They liked the family-run atmosphere very much, filming the process of making okonomiyaki and taking photos with the proprietress. At the Peace Memorial Museum, the guests listened attentively to my explanations. This made my explanations very rewarding, and I was able to provide a fulfilling guiding experience.

    What Is a Rainy-Day Private Hakone Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from South America. Due to unfortunate heavy rain, we gave up on visiting Owakudani and focused our sightseeing around Moto-Hakone Port. Lake Ashi was covered in mist and Mount Fuji was not visible, which was a shame, but I shared the legend of the nine-headed dragon and the guests enjoyed the mysterious atmosphere. At the Hakone Checkpoint (Hakone Sekisho), they viewed the exhibits with great interest and climbed up to the distant lookout tower to photograph the scenery of Lake Ashi. I also suggested visiting the Okada Museum of Art afterward, but they were not particularly interested. At Hakone Shrine, after praying at the main hall, they were able to wait in line for about 30 minutes at the torii gate photo spot and take pictures, which delighted them greatly. On the way back, we picked up their luggage at the Hotel and I saw them off at Hakone-Yumoto Station.

    Can You Do a Private Nikko Day Tour in the Rain? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. The original plan was to see Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls before touring the Nikko temple and shrine area, but heavy rain and thick fog set in. When I called in the morning to check the conditions, I was told that Kegon Falls was almost entirely obscured. I explained this to the guests upon their arrival, and we decided not to head to the Lake Chuzenji area and instead to explore the World Heritage temple and shrine district at a relaxed pace. We first visited the Toshogu Treasure Museum, which is not usually part of the itinerary, so that the guests could gain an overview of Tokugawa Ieyasu and the shogunate before viewing Toshogu Shrine, which seemed to make the visit even more enjoyable for them. The guests were also interested in religion, so as we visited all of the two shrines and one temple, I explained the religious background of Japan in detail, and they listened very attentively. Despite the unfortunate weather, the guests were very pleased with the tour.

After touring the wholesale market building and the intermediate wholesaler building at Toyosu Market, the group wished to have sushi for breakfast. After enjoying delicious sushi made with fresh ingredients, they savored grilled squid amid the bustle and energy of the Tsukiji Outer Market. At a long-established knife shop, the group purchased two kitchen knives for home use.
