Title: What's a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests had arrived in Japan the previous day from Europe. The day before, they had visited the Shibuya Scramble Crossing and the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace without a guide. They had found it inconvenient to buy paper tickets each time they transferred trains, so we began by helping them purchase a SUICA card available exclusively for foreign travelers at the station travel concierge. Today was another day of extreme heat. We walked through the shade as much as possible, moving into shaded spots while waiting for the traffic lights to turn green before crossing the streets. Using the SUICA card they had purchased, they bought several drinks from vending machines, and we made an effort to prevent heatstroke.

What Is a Private Sake Brewery and Nunobiki Herb Garden Tour in Kobe Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from Europe, and everything went smoothly. They were very interested in the sightseeing and asked many questions. This was my first time guiding guests from Europe, and I got to hear many fascinating stories about their home region. At the sake brewery, they attentively observed the production process, and at the tasting corner they enjoyed sampling not only the complimentary options but also several varieties of premium sake available for a fee. Because they took their time enjoying the visit, it was a little regrettable that we had to cut Ikuta Shrine from the original plan. At the Nunobiki Herb Garden, they greatly enjoyed the view from the hilltop and took photographs. Since they mentioned feeling a bit hungry and wanted to take a break, we had a light meal at the facility attached to the herb garden, after which we parted ways. It was a very enjoyable group, and it was a tour that I, the guide, thoroughly enjoyed as well.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.
    Doomo Arigato Gozaimasu!

What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, Akihabara, and Koishikawa Korakuen The guests were visitors from Europe who were visiting Japan for the first time. They mentioned that after sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to travel to Kyoto and Osaka. At Meiji Shrine, they listened with great interest to explanations about the differences between Shinto and Buddhism, and seemed deeply impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere. At the Imperial Palace, they listened attentively to explanations about the Edo Shogunate, the Meiji Restoration, and the Emperor. In Akihabara, some of the guests enjoyed browsing bookstores with anime books. At Koishikawa Korakuen, they appeared to be impressed by the beautiful Japanese garden. Since I responded exactly according to the guests' wishes, I believe they were satisfied.

Title: What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. They were staying in the Namba area of Osaka and traveled by Shinkansen to Kyoto Station in the morning. Today was another extremely hot day in Kyoto, so it turned into a tour where everyone was sweating and wiping their brows throughout. I guided them around each site while making use of shade as much as possible, and the guests listened to my explanations with considerable interest. Because of the heat, we inevitably fell behind schedule. After discussing it, we decided to use taxis from Sanjusangendo to the lunch venue, and from Kinkaku-ji to Arashiyama, which saved a great deal of time and allowed us to finish sightseeing at all the planned destinations as scheduled. After Arashiyama, I saw the guests off at Kyoto Station, ending the tour. The photo was taken at the lunch restaurant, including myself.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

Can You Do a Private Walking Tour of Nara in Summer Heat? A Licensed Guide's Report Nara reached over 35 degrees Celsius today, an extreme heat. Normally, on tours in Nara I introduce the shrines and temples while strolling on foot without using a bus, but this time I decided to use a bus out of concern that something might happen to the guests during the tour in such conditions. However, the guests mentioned that they had walked about 30,000 steps on a tour in Kyoto the previous day, and they still seemed to have plenty of energy left today. Without showing any signs of fatigue, they thoroughly enjoyed the tour. They said today's step count was about 25,000. I was glad the guests were so energetic.

Title: What's a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Gion The guests were visitors from North America. Their requested destinations for the day were the Higashiyama district, Kinkaku-ji, Nijo Castle, and Gion, so I built an itinerary that fit Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera into the Higashiyama area. One of the guests loved small items and did a lot of shopping at the souvenir shops around Fushimi Inari, which put us about an hour behind schedule for the second destination, Kiyomizu-dera. At Kiyomizu-dera, the guests enjoyed ringing the bell at the main hall, offering incense, and visiting the Otowa Waterfall, and while browsing the various shops along the approach it came to light that they were fond of Studio Ghibli. After taking photos with the Yasaka Pagoda in the background, instead of continuing down Yasaka-dori, we went along Ninen-zaka to the Donguri Republic shop. It was so hot that I felt spending time shopping was a perfectly good option. We made our way to Gion by way of Yasui Konpira-gu Shrine. Around the time we passed through Hanamikoji, it was nearly the finishing time of 14:00, so we walked together to the Hotel and ended the tour. Since it had been decided at the start that the guests would have a late lunch after the tour, we did not take a lunch break. Both of the guests looked relieved when we arrived at the Hotel. I’m Ryoichi Kazuma and my nickname is “Kazz”. I live in Kyotanabe city next to Kyoto city. I want guests to enjoy Kyoto by seeing and experiencing not only from outside but also from inside. I offer various information from daily matters to traditional cultures. Most destinations in Kyoto are located on the eastern side or the western side. As I want to guide guests to as many destinations as possible, I make an efficient itinerary and recommend a taxi use to save time. Additionally, I take pictures at various spots and finally share the link to my storage. By doing so, guests can download their favorite pictures from my storage. Please enjoy Kyoto night and day!

Title: What Is a Private Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were very lively and asked many questions, which made for an enjoyable tour to guide. They watched the special exhibition screen inside the castle keep with great interest. We proceeded while resting several times at the places where chairs were provided. As they had come from a region with a colder climate, I think it was quite demanding for them. At Koko-en Garden, a staff member called out to us and let the guests feed the carp, which delighted them greatly. Afterward, at their request, we took a break at a café I recommended. They were very fond of the almond toast, a specialty of Himeji.

Title: What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like for First-Time Visitors to Japan? A Licensed Guide's Report After a long-awaited wait, having been interrupted by the pandemic, the guests finally made their dream trip from Europe to Japan. They said the scenery was completely different and the greenery was beautiful. At Owakudani, Mount Fuji became visible for just a moment, which delighted them greatly. The guests had an interest in Japanese culture, so, as on the previous day, I introduced topics such as the connection between Shinto, Buddhism, and lifestyle, the origins of kanji characters, and numbers and how they are read. There was shaved ice at a tea shop at the Hakone checkpoint, and when I asked, they said they had never tried it, so I had them sample it. I bought just one, and everyone shared it together. They also enjoyed a Japanese meal for lunch and, unusually, finished it completely. They enjoyed conversing with Japanese people, and I believe the exchange during the presentation at a local trading company was a valuable experience for them.

Third: I can explain things from a technical point of view.
For example, how the Great Buddha was constructed, because I am a master of engineering graduated from Hokkaido University.
Please enjoy Japan with me. See you soon!!

Title: What Can You Do on a Private Day Tour in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. One of the guests had greeted me only briefly at the Hotel before departing that day, and had asked in advance that I take the group to the specific places below, so I followed that request. Because it was extremely hot that day, I paid close attention to the group's condition and made sure everyone stayed hydrated. At the Imperial Palace, I explained the history of Japan and Tokyo under the eaves of the Sakuradamon Gate. At Rikugien Garden, we strolled while choosing shaded paths. I had not been informed in advance that some of the guests do not eat meat, and others avoid tempura and seafood, so as a last resort we had lunch at a casual restaurant. At Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara, one of the guests, who will begin studying urban planning at university in September, was impressed by the low prices of stationery and bought a lot of drafting supplies. The guests were not particularly interested in anime, so they did not seem to enjoy the Radio Kaikan building. I took them there because I had been asked to, but for those who are not interested in anime, it may be better not to include Akihabara in the itinerary. Hello! My name is Hideki Maruyama. I was born in Osaka and raised in the Greater Tokyo area. I obtained my National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter Certificate in February 2016.
I spent 23 years working at a leading Japanese automotive company, including 7 years posted overseas. I then worked for a German premium automotive manufacturer for 13 years, followed by 6 years as an advisor to a British energy company. Through these roles at global corporations, I developed and refined key skills such as:
    1. Cross-cultural communication
    2. A deep understanding of business elites and affluent customers
    3. The ability to deliver impactful and impressive presentations in English
In addition to my regular duties, I often served as an interpreter for top executives during meetings with foreign government officials. I also had opportunities to introduce aspects of Japan—such as our national character and consumer preferences—to leadership teams in both the German and British companies.
As a tour guide, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding guests from a wide range of countries especially after the pandemic, including the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Romania, Slovenia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, Columbia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Laos, Turkey, Jordan, Kenya and Israel.
When guiding, I always keep in mind to go beyond what guests can find on social media or ChatGPT. I believe my professional background allows me to offer unique insights, and I am encouraged when guests mention this in their reviews

Title: Can You Do a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour of Fushimi Inari and Nijo Castle? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Oceania. It was their first time in Japan, and they wanted to learn about old townscapes and history. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) is one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures. We first visited Fushimi Inari Taisha, and when I gave a detailed explanation, the guests listened attentively. Due to the extreme heat, I think there were fewer people than usual. After that, we went to Nijo Castle, where they also showed great interest in the historical stories. Because it was so hot, we gave up on seeing the Japanese garden and took a taxi toward the Gion area. We stopped at a tonkatsu restaurant, and I believe the guests enjoyed it. They were interested in the Gion district, so we walked around a little, but again, due to the extreme heat, we wrapped up a bit early and returned to Kyoto Station by taxi. Coping with the dangerously high temperatures was a real challenge.
