They had a strong interest in food, so the group sampled items they had wanted to try at Tsukiji, including sweets such as daifuku mochi and smoothies, as well as sashimi. Afterwards, they purchased some plates. Because Tokyo Tower has a connection to structures like the Eiffel Tower, the group requested to visit it, and we did. Since the group planned to travel onward the next day, they wanted to finish the tour early, so we wrapped up ahead of schedule and parted ways in front of Takeshita Street.

    Can You Do a Private Day Trip to Nara from Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. Since meeting at Kyoto Station seemed difficult, I picked them up at their accommodation in the morning and we took a taxi to Kyoto Station. Before the tour, the guests had little prior knowledge of Nara beyond the deer. I introduced them to the classic highlights of Nara Park, Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, and the Naramachi district, though we decided to visit Kasuga Taisha only if time allowed. I guided them to the Naramachi Lattice House, and this seemed to be their favorite spot. Since they had already visited many shrines and temples, a place like this felt fresh and new to them. The Naramachi Lattice House will apparently be closed for renovation from October until February of next year. We had planned to do a sake tasting in Naramachi, but unfortunately it was closed for the Obon holiday, which was a shame. The photo was taken at the yakiniku restaurant where we had lunch.

    What Is a Private Walking Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kenrokuen and the Higashi Chaya District The guests were young visitors from South America. At Oyama Shrine, they purchased a goshuincho (stamp book) and protective charms, and seemed quite interested in Shinto. After viewing the Hishi Yagura turret at Kanazawa Castle, we took a short break at the Tsurunomaru rest area and saw the Ishikawa Gate and other sites. We visited Kenrokuen Garden, and at Seisonkaku they took an interest in the traditional shoin-style architecture. I guided them around the Higashi Chaya District, showing them Shima, and after a brief tour of the area we parted ways. The guests were also interested in kanji characters. As it was a hot day, we took breaks along the way while I guided them.

    I majored in civil engineering at a college and am interested in historical infrastructures. I have also guided foreign people around Ishikawa Prefecture, Toyama Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, and Fukui Prefecture as an international activity of an English circle. I was a volunteer interpreter at the training camp for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021.

    Hokuriku region has a lot of sightseeing spots as follows, beautiful landscapes like Kenrokuen Garden and Tateyama, tasty food like traditional Kaga dishes and fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, traditional crafts like Kaga Yuzen dyeing, Takaoka copperware, and Inami woodcarving. I introduce these spots and historical infra tourism such as Kurobe dam and industrial tourism.

    I also work as a translator. I translated the Japanese firefly squid tourism pamphlet into English in 2020.

    Title: What Is a Private Sendai Tour Visiting Great East Japan Earthquake Memorial Sites Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest initially asked to change the date to a day that did not work for me, but since a substitute guide could not be found, we discussed it and changed the tour to the morning of the same day. As it turned out, this allowed us to avoid the peak heat of the day, which was fortunate. Even so, it was hot throughout and seemed challenging. Sendai exceeded 32 degrees Celsius that day. The guest, who was from North America, found the heat difficult, so we walked while choosing shaded areas as much as possible. The guest had a Welcome Suica, but the balance was quite low, so I helped install a mobile Suica before we set off. The guest's top priority was the coastal earthquake memorial ruins. On the initial plan, the bus connections were poor and I explained that we would only be able to visit that one site, but the guest also wanted to visit the Sendai Castle ruins. So we took the Loople Sendai on the way there, and to reach the earthquake memorial ruins by subway, we went from Sendai Castle Site South to Aobayama Station and transferred. This way, the waiting times were not too long, and although we ran slightly over, we were able to reach the desired destinations. At the Memorial Community Center inside Arai Station, a large map of the tsunami-inundated area was displayed, and the guest viewed it with great interest. Arahama Elementary School has air conditioning in some areas. It is a good exhibit for disaster education and is free of charge. The lives of residents before the earthquake were displayed through videos and photos, including images of the area bustling with beachgoers and photos of the area after the tsunami receded, which the guest studied intently. About a 2-3 minute walk outside there are also post-earthquake housing foundations and Fukanuma Beach, but due to the extreme heat the guest did not want to walk, and since the bus was coming in 30 minutes, we returned in cool comfort. The guest wanted to use up the remaining balance on the IC card, so after leaving the station I helped at a convenience store before we parted ways. The guest said that next time they would avoid August. Having heard that the guest had also spent the previous day cooling off at the hotel without sightseeing, I felt a little sorry for them.

    Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report Because I had heard various requests during our pre-tour communication, I was able to do thorough research and site visits in advance, which made the tour itself easy to conduct. My only concern was how much energy the guests would have left in the heat. Since they had come all the way to Japan, I was determined to fulfill all of their wishes, and by checking in with the guests about how they were doing, I was able to guide them according to plan. At the character goods shop in the Higashiyama area, the guests thoroughly enjoyed their first shopping experience in Japan. Since they had a reservation for the 18:00 Gion Corner performance, I took them there a little early so they could secure good seats, and we parted ways on site. They were very pleased and said it had been truly great.

Although this was a short stay, they shared that they liked Japan very much and would like to take more time to travel around the country on their next visit. As part of staying cool from the heat, [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guided them to the Tokyo National Museum, where they were very pleased to be able to enter for free without lining up at the ticket machine. At the Tokyo National Museum, the exhibits are of course a highlight, but the ukiyo-e stamp-making experience (second photo) is very popular, and most guests enjoy trying it. For lunch, the guests requested Japanese cuisine, with a preference for fish and vegetables as well as meat, so I took them to a Japanese restaurant in the Ueno area, which they also enjoyed.

    Title: What's a Private Family-Friendly Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Akihabara and the Imperial Palace The guests were a family visiting from North America. Their initial requests were Akihabara and Tsukiji, and later they mentioned wanting to visit either Hamarikyu or the East Gardens as well. However, considering time, priorities, and the intense summer heat, I suggested the Imperial Palace Outer Garden instead. They were moved by the contrast between the stone walls, moats, and valuable historic remains and the modern buildings surrounding them, and they enjoyed taking photographs. After arriving in Akihabara, it was memorable to see how some of the guests' eyes lit up. We had planned to part ways at an electronics store, but one of the guests became absorbed in the retro game floor of GIGO, which I had guided them to, and they were happy to end the tour there, so we finished on a very enjoyable note. Some of the guests had been quiet at first, but by the end they came to thank me with big smiles, which made me very happy.

    What Is a Private Nara Park and Temple Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were interested in architecture, so they took their time viewing the temple and shrine buildings, walking slowly and asking many questions along the way. They had been looking forward to seeing the deer, but when the deer came close, they seemed frightened, and they were greatly surprised and moved by the scenery of Nara Park, saying they had never seen deer so accustomed to people. They told me about other countries they had visited. They seemed to have little appetite because it was so hot, but around 14:00 they decided it was time to eat something and had a light snack. Once they started eating, they ordered one thing after another, and by the time they got into the car they were quite full. While eating, they praised this tour very highly. They said that thanks to all the explanations, they had gained a deeper understanding. When we parted, they asked how they could leave a proper review, and I told them to please look at the review card I had given them. I would be delighted if they leave a review as they mentioned.

    What Does a Private Tokyo Tour of Asakusa, Yanaka, and Meiji Shrine Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report At Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa and along Nakamise Street, the guests were amazed by the extraordinary depth of Japanese tradition, learning how the central pillar (shinbashira) seismic-control technology of a five-story pagoda — the same concept behind Tokyo Skytree — has been used for centuries. They seemed to truly understand the meaning of a tradition that has endured for so long, which made me feel deeply proud and pleased as well. After enjoying matcha ice cream, we took a taxi to Yanaka Ginza, where the guests looked for souvenirs at a shop selling tea utensils. After leisurely enjoying tempura and soba at a soba restaurant in Yanaka, we took the train to relax near Meiji Jingumae. At Meiji Shrine, the guests experienced Shinto, and along Takeshita Street they took in the local subculture. Finally, I explained how to get back to the Hotel, and we parted ways at Shinjuku Gyoemmae.

I am a Tokyo Native with viewpoints based on broader local knowledge than anyone else. I have specialised in Japanese history, culture, and architecture since I was an architect.

    What Can You See on a Private Half-Day Tokyo Tour Before a Shinkansen to Nagano? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. After sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to take a Shinkansen bound for Nagano departing in the early afternoon, so at the guests' request, I guided them only to Tokyo Tower and the Imperial Palace before we parted ways at Tokyo Station. At Tokyo Tower, the guests were impressed by the magnificent view of Tokyo from the Main Deck, and they also enjoyed shopping at the souvenir shop inside Tokyo Tower. At the Imperial Palace, they showed great interest in the historical explanations about the role of the Emperor and about Edo Castle and the Edo Shogunate. For lunch, they enjoyed Japanese food such as tempura. Since I responded exactly as the guests wished, I believe they were satisfied.
