Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Walking Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests wished to buy a PASMO or Suica card after we met, so we purchased a PASMO at Tochomae Station before setting off. The weather was fine at the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, and the guests showed great interest in exhibits such as the model of the former castle keep. At Nezu Shrine there was a grand annual festival, and in Asakusa a samba festival was being held, so the guests enjoyed taking photographs. The guests took many photos, including shots around the Nezu area and views of the Tokyo Skytree from Asakusa. At Meiji Shrine, they were delighted to see two wedding ceremonies taking place. I guided them to the entrance of Takeshita Street, and the tour concluded as scheduled. This private one-day walking tour of Tokyo was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides serving all 47 prefectures and a winner of the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Best of the Best.

What Is a Private Historical and Cultural Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nezu Shrine and Shibamata The guests wished to visit historical and cultural sites, so I guided them mainly to Nezu Shrine and Shibamata Taishakuten. When guests request Japanese-style places that are not too crowded, the route of "Nezu Shrine to Yanaka Ginza to Shibamata Taishakuten" is relatively easy to travel and convenient to use. Because the previous day had been a holiday, it was unfortunate that Yamamoto-tei and the Tora-san Museum were closed, but I believe the guests still enjoyed the day fully. For lunch, I guided them to a restaurant in Asakusa as on the previous day, and they said it was very delicious. Although it was a more humid day than before, I believe the guests enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

Hi, I am Nobu, a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (English).
I have been an English guide in Tokyo area since January 2017.
Tokyo is a wonderful city, and you may enjoy this city by yourselves.
Even so, I recommend you go around with a guide, especially if it is your first time visit to Tokyo.
A good guide will help you to understand about Tokyo and Japan as well as how to use convenient but complicated public transportations more effectively.
I am glad if I can help you to make your tour more enjoyable.
I am looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo soon!

Title: What Can You See on a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America on their first trip to Japan. Since they had already visited Senso-ji Temple, Meiji Shrine, and the Imperial Palace the day before, I planned the day to cover as efficiently as possible the places they wished to see, which they told me that morning. The National Museum was closed that day because the previous day had been a public holiday, so I explained this and left it out of the itinerary. At Tokyo Tower, which we visited instead of Tokyo Skytree, the guests had great fun lying on the look-down window and photographing themselves from above along with the ground scenery below. At the Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara, they were impressed by the huge selection of goods, and while calling family in North America from the sales floor, they searched for the items they were interested in. Most unexpectedly, before heading to Nezu Shrine, we tried to pass quickly through Yanaka shopping street, but one of the guests ended up doing some very enthusiastic shopping there. After careful consideration, they purchased vintage kimono, bamboo crafts by a renowned artisan, and power-stone accessories one after another. There was a carved wooden hanging piece they liked, but on checking it turned out to be from Bali, Indonesia rather than from Japan, so they gave up on it. Since they wished to visit as many places as possible even if it meant skipping lunch, I made the Tsukiji area our final destination. Before heading to Tsukiji Market, I took them to Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple, where they gazed intently at the interior of the main hall.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a very close-knit group, and although I had asked about their wishes in advance, some parts of the itinerary had to be changed because it was a Monday holiday: the Tsukiji Outer Market was closed, while the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace were open, so I adjusted the plan accordingly. The weather was mostly cloudy and relatively cool, so we were able to get around without worrying about the heat and humidity. The guests seemed to have studied a great deal about Japan and had considerable knowledge of its history and culture, which made guiding them very rewarding. For lunch, since they had eaten sushi the day before, I took them to a restaurant that has recently become a regular choice, and they were very pleased. Overall, I believe the guests were satisfied.

Title: What's a Full-Day Private Tour from Meiji Shrine to Tsukiji and Asakusa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report For guests visiting Japan for the first time, I explained Japanese history and Shinto at Meiji Shrine in a way that even younger members of the group could intuitively feel and understand. Although there was shade, the shrine's forest was still hot, so we entered from the First Torii, passed through the South Approach and the inner precinct, and exited via the North Approach — the reason being that we could then move efficiently from Yoyogi Station straight to the Tsukiji Outer Market on the Oedo Line. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, the guests thoroughly enjoyed a set meal in the food court, starting with wagyu beef and also featuring bluefin tuna, and were very pleased. On the way to Asakusa, they had fun taking commemorative photos with character statues at a game company's headquarters, and in Asakusa they were also satisfied with shaved ice. We walked while chatting about things designed to spark curiosity, such as why the Skytree appears to look unstable depending on the direction from which you view it. Finally, we parted ways at the basement food floor of a department store, as had been requested. Born and raised in Tokyo a half-century ago, I have lived in Tokyo all my life except for one year in the UK to study for a master’s course. I am a Tokyo Native with viewpoints based on broader local knowledge than anyone else. I have specialised in Japanese history, culture, and architecture since I was an architect.
Also, I am a foodie emphasising Japanese traditional & healthy foods. I’ve been to many countries around the world, such as the US, Central America, Europe, and Asia. As such, I believe I can anticipate the needs of foreign tourists in Japan.

Despite my experience as a guide for just two years, we can make the best out of our tour by travelling from your hotel to spots time-efficiently with my local knowledge, while accommodating your unexpected requests during the tour.
My strong area includes Yanesen; Old Temples in a Quaint Village, Kamakura, Asakusa Sensoji, Meiji Shrine and Imperial Palace. All give you peace of mind.

What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Instagram-Spot Walking Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests arrived in Japan the day before from North America. I told them, "I will make your trip an unforgettable one." We started by taking commemorative photos with ARISA, one of the two robot concierges installed in Tokyo, striking a celebratory pose. After that, we took commemorative photos at various Instagrammable spots. Some of the guests had recommendations from a relative who loves Japan and had visited three times before, so we also visited several of those recommended spots, including a pachinko parlor, the Godzilla Head, and the 3D cat billboard. I am not sure whether this tour became an unforgettable one for the guests, but when we parted in front of the ticket gates at Higashi-Ginza (where I explained how to get to Akihabara), they smiled, said "thank you," and shook my hand.

Can You Do a Private Tokyo Sightseeing Tour with JR Pass and Hakone Free Pass Setup? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from Oceania visiting Japan for the first time. After sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to travel to Hakone, Takayama, Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Osaka. They asked for assistance with the procedures for using their JR Pass, so we first completed the activation at the service center in Tokyo Station. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the Emperor and Edo Castle. At Meiji Shrine, they seemed deeply impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere. They also requested help with activating their Hakone Free Pass, so I provided assistance at the Odakyu Travel Service Center in Shinjuku. After guiding them through Omoide Yokocho in Shinjuku, they expressed a wish to explore Shinjuku further on their own, so we parted ways at the west exit of Shinjuku Station. As I responded exactly according to the guests' wishes, I believe they were satisfied.

What Is a Private Nagoya Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Atsuta Shrine and Osu Kannon The guests were a cheerful group, and it was a pleasure to guide them. They love Japanese food and mentioned that they enjoy going around trying ramen in various places. This time as well, we ate ramen together and they treated me. At Atsuta Shrine, I also guided them behind the main hall, and they took photos with great interest. At Osu Kannon, since they planned to enjoy shopping after we parted ways, we walked around while I explained various shops. It was still quite hot, so we conducted the tour while staying hydrated and taking breaks in the shade.

Hey there, I’m Masami Maeda, and I’m all about guiding you through some incredible adventures! Teaching English at high school was cool and all, but I craved something more exciting. That’s when I discovered my love for guiding.
Traveling is my jam. I’ve spent years soaking up the vibes in the US and the UK. In fact, I even did a stint at Warwick University, where I got totally hooked on Drama and Theatre Education. It was like stepping into a whole new world!
When I’m not busy showing folks around, you’ll find me doing all sorts of things. Ballet classes? Yep, I’m there. And I’m a huge fan of Japanese rakugo – both watching and performing. It’s a blast!
My style of guiding? Think of it as a mix of storytelling and cultural immersion. I want you to feel like you’re really part of the places we visit, not just an onlooker. Let’s dive deep into the heart of each destination and uncover the hidden gems together.
So, if you’re up for an adventure filled with laughter, learning, and maybe a few surprises along the way, then I’m your guide! Let’s make some unforgettable memories together!

What Is a Private Guided Tour of Ouchi-juku and Fukushima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour for the guests, who were visiting Japan for the first time and had chosen to travel around Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Hokuriku to avoid the crowds. The guests had decided to visit Ouchi-juku after seeing photos of it. We visited Takakura Shrine and the Abe Family Residence (Minoya). I believe they enjoyed browsing the various goods in the local shops as well. Although it was their first time in Japan, they had already been traveling for about two weeks and had gained a good deal of knowledge by studying with YouTube beforehand. On the way back, we took a coffee break at the footbath at Yunokami Onsen Station. We were also able to meet the cat stationmaster at Ashinomaki Onsen Station.

Hello, I am Yoko Nemo, happy to be your guide. Fukushima/Tohoku area is full of beautiful nature and traditional culture. There are many unknown charms. Get away from the crowded tourist areas to enjoy the relaxing local atmosphere!
I also can take you to the coastal area of Fukushima. There are several memorial museums related to the Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear power plant accident. You will see how people are working hard for the revitalization of the area.
I love traveling both inside and outside of Japan. So I also look forward to hearing about your hometown. Thank you!

Title: What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests came to Japan from Europe. One of them was not very comfortable speaking English. Since they had visited Paris before, the conversation turned to a comparison between French cuisine and Japanese cuisine, and with everyone joining in, we arrived at Miyajima before we knew it. At Miyajima, I explained Shinto and Buddhism, and one of the guests translated into French. At the museum, the moment they stepped inside, one of the guests listened to the explanation with tears in their eyes. They went into the main building on their own, but said it was very crowded and they had only glanced quickly, returning after about 15 minutes. Thinking that the English explanation might have been difficult to follow, I explained "how the atomic bomb was developed and why Hiroshima was chosen as a target." One of the guests translated skillfully into French, saying, "I did not know the atomic bomb was a test." They listened attentively, remarking that while the temperature back home was 16°C, it was now 34°C in Hiroshima.
