I am NAKAMURA Takao, a retired Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (Army) officer. During my military career, as foreign liaison officer, I was in charge of receiving foreign military officers from various countries. I was assigned to headquarters, units and schools around Japan. Now, I work for the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE), attending foreign government officials and supporting foreign students. I am most interested in Japan’s history in general and temples and shrines in particular. I wish to become a tour guide who can represent Japan’s traditional values, such as respect for others and hospitality.
