Title: What's a Private Osaka Walking Tour Like After Arriving from Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from North America who traveled from Kyoto to Osaka by limited express train, so I met them on the platform. The group enjoyed public transportation with ease and spent time comparing the number of steps they had walked each day since arriving in Japan while exploring Osaka on foot. During my explanations, one of the guests asked me to repeat myself several times, but other members of the group quickly stepped in to help clarify. Since a comment about this was noted in the review afterward, I reflected on the experience and resolved to be more attentive and to tailor my explanations more carefully to each guest going forward.

    Tour Itinerary

    • 8:45 Meet at Shimbashi Blossom Hibiya. 8:55 Take a taxi from Shimbashi to the Arashio sumo stable in Nihonbashi Hamacho. 9:10 Watch sumo practice, take commemorative photos with the wrestlers. 9:45 Hamacho ~ 10:05 Asakusa. Photograph Tokyo Skytree from Sumida Park. Kaminarimon, shopping at Nakamise, commemorative photos with kabuki actor statues. After visiting Sensoji Temple, souvenir shopping. Asakusa ~ 11:50 Tokyo Station, tour of the Daimaru department store basement food floor, tour of the Tokyo Station building on the Marunouchi side. 12:20 Take the Yurikamome from Shimbashi to see the Statue of Liberty at Odaiba. 14:00 After lunch, view the Gundam statue. Odaiba ~ 14:40 Shimbashi Station. Since the husband had urgent work come up, we parted ways at Shimbashi Station near the hotel. A total 5 hour 55 minute tour.

Title: What Is a Private 6-Hour Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests enjoyed watching sumo and taking commemorative photos with the wrestlers. In Asakusa, unlike other guests, they took a particular interest in shopping for souvenirs for family and unique T-shirts for themselves. For the Yurikamome line, we let one train pass and the group sat together in the very front seats of the leading car, enjoying the surrounding scenery. This time we had also planned to visit places like Harajuku, but that is not feasible within 6 hours. Due to the schedule of one of the guests, we ended within the allotted time. In 6 hours it is generally not possible to do proper sightseeing in the city. A minimum of 8 hours is needed for a full day of sightseeing, and it is puzzling that requests for 8 hours are not made. With a 2-hour extension, since there is no established procedure for handling it, it tends to become unpaid volunteer work for the guide. As a souvenir, I presented them with a Mount Fuji glass.

What Is a Full-Day Private Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, and Kinkaku-ji The guests were a group visiting from Europe. We met in front of Fushimi Inari Taisha, where I explained the history of the torii gates and the beliefs surrounding the Inari faith. In Arashiyama, we visited Tenryu-ji Temple and strolled through the bamboo grove, and the guests were moved by the beauty of the Japanese garden. For lunch, we went to a ramen restaurant near Kitano Tenmangu that the guests had reserved, and I was treated to a meal as well. In the afternoon, we visited Kitano Tenmangu and Kinkaku-ji. At Tenmangu, I explained about Sugawara no Michizane, and the guests listened with great interest as I described the differences between shrines and temples, as well as the differences between a Tenmangu shrine and an Inari shrine. Overall, the guests showed a keen interest in history and culture, making it a very fulfilling tour.

What Can You See on a Private 6-Hour Kyoto Tour Focused on Gardens and World Heritage Sites? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They wished to visit as many Japanese gardens and World Heritage sites as possible. Since walking, including stairs, was difficult for one of the guests, they were able to visit Murin-an and Ryoan-ji together, while at the other sightseeing spots the guests waited in the car. As much as possible, I arranged the route to pass in front of World Heritage sites so they could take photos or view them from the car window. They had also booked another tour with a vehicle for a different day, planning to visit sites such as Tenryu-ji and Kiyomizu-dera. It seemed they had mistakenly assumed the one-day course would allow about 8 hours, and when we met in the morning they mentioned that 6 hours felt too short. However, in the end they seemed to become tired, and although they had said they wanted to go shopping and have a meal at the end of the itinerary, they instead asked to return to the Hotel a bit early. I saw them off safely, and the tour concluded.

What Is a First-Time Private Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, and since this was their first time in Kyoto, I guided them along a classic itinerary. A route like today's allows me to explain a wide range of Japanese culture, including history, Zen Buddhism, the tea ceremony, geiko, and maiko, so I feel it is a good itinerary for getting to know Japan and Kyoto. Today's guests already had a certain amount of background knowledge, so they seemed to understand my explanations without any difficulty. As there were not many questions or reactions from the guests, it was a little hard to tell how much they had understood.

Hello, this is Kazu Akiyama, your tour guide. Nice to meet you and welcome to Japan. Thank you for joining me on the tour. Now I am a retired salaried worker, living in Osaka. I have been very much interested in not only learning Japanese history, culture, religion myself, but also talking about them (sometimes going off topics) in English with tourists from all over the world as well. I am so excited being with you as your guide on coming day! I am very much looking forward to you enjoying with me visiting the must-see places and some of the hidden gems. See you soon. Osaka Private Tour Report: What Can a Licensed Guide Cover at Osaka Castle, Shitennoji, and Kuromon Market in One Day? This was a private tour for a group visiting Japan, so we moved around while avoiding stairs as much as possible. One member of the group was cheerful and had no trouble walking, but another member walked slowly and consistently fell behind. Since Osaka Castle has many stairs and the elevator was not available at the time, we decided that this person would wait outside. When we returned, we found them sitting on a chair and sleeping in the shade of Miraiza Osaka-jo. Jet lag seemed to be difficult for them as well. On the way back, to make things a little easier, we used the electric car that runs within the castle grounds. Even so, the group loved taking photos, capturing many shots of Osaka Castle, the surrounding trees, and the five-story pagoda at Shitennoji. They also bought many souvenirs and picked up matcha at Kuromon Market. At the end, I thought about seeing them to their hotel since it was close to Dotonbori, but the group decided to have a meal at a restaurant they liked, so we parted ways in front of the restaurant.

Hi! I’m an official English guide in Wakayama prefecture. I’m also a national guide as well. I’d like to expand my guide area to help tourists.
The town of Osaka offers a different atmosphere than Tokyo. I like both exciting Osaka and nature-filled Wakayama Prefecture.
If you stay in Osaka for 3 days, you can go to Koyasan for one day, or even for a day trip, so I recommend sightseeing at Koyasan.
If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, the nature of Koyasan will relax you.
I will introduce you to the unique culture, history and must-see sights.

Title: What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Arashiyama The guests were a group visiting from Oceania and Asia. Some of the guests had relocated to Oceania more than ten years ago, but originally came from Asia. In addition to Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Arashiyama, the guests had also hoped to visit Kurama-dera, but I explained that it would be difficult time-wise, so we focused mainly on these three locations. Finally, we ended the tour by dropping the guests off at Nishiki Market. As I myself have experience living in Asia for over four years, we enjoyed lively conversations about the region and were able to have a very pleasant tour together.

Hi, every one. How have you been? I am JGA tour guide Kazu. It is my great pleasure that I can introduce myself here. I am already more than 70 years old, but I believe I am still young both mentally and physically. I like walking with my customers very much. I am from Tokyo, but now

I live in Kyoto traditional city and an old capital of Japan. I had worked at electric manufacturing company for more than 40 years. While I was working at that company, fortunately I had a lot of chances to visit many foreign countries.

I lived in Singapore, Malaysia, Poland and Mexico. Also I visited America, Britain, and other countries. Basically I used English to proceed my job there, however I always tried to speak local languages as much as possible. Through staying other countries, I found that there were great differences of the culture or the way of thinking between those countries and Japan. I though I had a valuable experience. After I retired from the company 5 years ago, I began to work as a tour guide although I got the National English tour guide license 7 years ago. Besides English I speak Spanish but I don’t have Spanish tour guide license yet. I belong to the comany JGA and worked around 10 days a month. So far I accompanied with mu customers more than 100 groups. All of my tour was good and lucky as I was always favored with gentle and kind customers.

My hobby is playing the guitar, dancing and learning foreign languages. I sometimes join the concert by playing the guitar, and it is fun for me. Though I like dancing, I can not dance well. I only enjoy dancing here in Japan.

About the tour in Japan, I usually take my tourists to the famous spots in Kyoto like Kinkakuji, Kiyomizu dera, Fushimi inari, Gion area,Nishiki market and Arashiyama area. In Arashiyama area we often visit Bamboo forest,Nonomiya shrine,Togetsukyou bridge and Kimono forest. I will cope with my customers demands as much as possible so that I try to visit any places up to your requests.

I welcome a lot for your coming to Japan. and if possible I would like to help you to visit various kind of spots in Japan especially in Kyoto. JGA is very flexible company so that I have a confidence that you will be satisfied with our attitude and hospitality. I am glad that many of my customers told that it was so nice to travel around Japan. We will and I will expect you come down to Japan any time and we are ready to help your memorable trip in Japan. I can not wait!

What Is a Private Himeji Castle Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were traveling through Japan and stopped in Himeji for sightseeing on their way to Okayama. It was their first visit to Japan, and although there was a little nervousness beforehand, the guests seemed to truly enjoy their first experience of Japan, which made me happy as well. Both showed great interest in the exhibits inside the castle, and we had a very enjoyable time going around. At Koko-en Garden, after I introduced the plant that the Chinese windmill butterfly feeds on, we happened to encounter one flying nearby and were able to take photos of it, which delighted the guests very much.

What Is a Private Tokyo Toyosu Market Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour was originally scheduled to start at 11:00, but an email arrived in the morning and it was changed to 10:00. The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They mentioned they had been to Japan many times, so it seemed they had already visited a variety of tourist attractions. They were interested in the newly opened Toyosu Market and looked closely at the seafood section where the auctions take place. At Senkyaku Banrai, they each got takeout of items they liked and enjoyed them in the plaza. I was surprised to see so many international visitors lined up at the bus stop in Tsukiji 6-chome. From that bus stop, there are buses not only to Toyosu Market but also to the Marunouchi South Exit of Tokyo Station and to Skytree, so I thought it was convenient for moving on after visiting Tsukiji Market.

I’m YUMI. Japan is full of history, nature and culture. I would like to talk about them from many aspects. When you have some questions, don’t hesitate to ask me. There’re many off the beaten paths in Japan. If you want to walk in a hidden local area, I’ll tailor the special course as you wish.
Experiencing new foods is also one of many intriguing things during your trip. I would recommend anything from street foods such as Ramen, Yakitori to authentic Sushi or elegant courses. My policy is to cherish your feelings and time. Let’s enjoy talking and walking with me!

Title: What Is a Private Miyajima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan. Before the tour, I checked the locations of hospitals and emergency services just in case, but this turned out to be an unnecessary worry. Thanks to the guests being very intelligent and great conversationalists, we hit it off from the very beginning, and it hardly felt like we were meeting for the first time. We had a truly enjoyable time together. In Miyajima, we spent our time more leisurely than usual — partly because we walked at a slower pace and partly because we took more rest breaks along the way. As a result, the tour ran over by more than an hour, which may have been an issue in terms of guide operations. That said, I believe the guests felt reassured by having me with them right up until close to the time of their return Shinkansen.
