Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, and Shibuya For guests visiting Japan for the first time, we began with an early-morning visit to Asakusa, where we prayed in the calm, serene quiet. The light rain was not much of a bother, and it was nice that the area was uncrowded. At Hamarikyu, I explained the nature of Japanese civilization in comparison with the West through the characteristics of traditional Japanese houses. We walked to the Tsukiji outer market, where the guests were moved by the deliciousness of the wagyu beef they had been looking forward to. They were also delighted with the lean tuna, which they found exquisite. After visiting Meiji Shrine, we actually crossed the Shibuya crossing and then looked down on it from above, where the guests marveled at the sight.

Born and raised in Tokyo a half-century ago, I have lived in Tokyo all my life except for one year in the UK to study for a master’s course. I am a Tokyo Native with viewpoints based on broader local knowledge than anyone else. I have specialised in Japanese history, culture, and architecture since I was an architect.
Also, I am a foodie emphasising Japanese traditional & healthy foods. I’ve been to many countries around the world, such as the US, Central America, Europe, and Asia. As such, I believe I can anticipate the needs of foreign tourists in Japan.

Despite my experience as a guide for just two years, we can make the best out of our tour by travelling from your hotel to spots time-efficiently with my local knowledge, while accommodating your unexpected requests during the tour.
My strong area includes Yanesen; Old Temples in a Quaint Village, Kamakura, Asakusa Sensoji, Meiji Shrine and Imperial Palace. All give you peace of mind.

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like for First-Time Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Oceania. They had traveled the new golden route from Tokyo and arrived in Kyoto the previous day. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guides lead private one-day tours of Kyoto for guests visiting Japan. I first took them to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, where there were fewer crowds than expected, and they enjoyed the solemn atmosphere and the songs of birds. At Nijo Castle, they thoroughly appreciated the 400-year-old architecture and the Japanese garden. For lunch I took them to a Japanese soba restaurant, and they were very satisfied, saying, "If we could come to this restaurant every day, we would want to try the entire menu." Finally, at Sanjusangen-do Temple, they seemed overwhelmed by the 1,001 Buddhist statues. When I asked them for their impressions of the day at the end, they told me emphatically, "It was very good, thank you."

    • 15:10 See off the World Heritage Route boarding and end the tour

What Is a Private One-Day Hiroshima and Miyajima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe who arrived in Hiroshima the night before the tour. Since they were staying at a hotel near the Peace Park, we met at the Hotel on the day of the tour. Because they did not have a JR Pass and were staying at a hotel near the Peace Park, I recommended using the World Heritage Sea Route for both the outbound and return trips. They had not booked the boat in advance, so we purchased the tickets right after starting the tour of the Peace Park. When I passed by later, it was already fully booked, so I was glad we bought them early. The guests loved to talk and asked many questions inside the park, which put us quite behind schedule, so we only had a little over 30 minutes for the Peace Memorial Museum. Still, they told me it was a very meaningful tour. For a typical one-day tour, we usually have lunch before crossing over to Miyajima, but this time we started at 8:00 in the morning, so we decided to have lunch on Miyajima. Since they were not very fond of oysters or conger eel, I took them to an okonomiyaki restaurant on the island. Personally, I would not say the okonomiyaki on the island was particularly delicious, but the guests seemed satisfied, so that was good. This time, I saw them off at the boat on Miyajima to end the tour, which meant we had a full four hours of guiding time on Miyajima, allowing us to take our time visiting Daisho-in Temple, Senjokaku, and more. The guests were friendly and loved to chat, so I enjoyed guiding them, and they were very satisfied. They said that one of their relatives would be coming to Hiroshima next year and that they would like to ask me to be the guide.

Title: What's a Private Kyoto Tour with Temple Experiences Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Initially, the accommodation had reportedly been changed to one that could store luggage, but when we arrived today, it turned out they would not hold the luggage, so we managed to load everything into the vehicle. Communication did not flow smoothly, and some parts of the itinerary had not been shared with the actual guests beforehand (such as the sutra-copying experience at Daikaku-ji Temple). However, the guests expressed satisfaction with the activities that were carried out (the sutra-copying experience), and no problems arose. This private tour was arranged through [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures.

What Is a Private Day Trip from Tokyo to Kyoto Like for Photography Fans? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were from Oceania and came to Japan as part of a photography enthusiasts' group tour, then separately booked a Kyoto tour. They visited Kyoto on a day trip from Tokyo. Both were photography enthusiasts and booked the Kyoto tour hoping to see the autumn foliage at Tofuku-ji Temple. The autumn foliage at Tofuku-ji was only about 30% at its peak, but perhaps because of that there were fewer visitors than expected, so we were able to view it comfortably. In addition to Tofuku-ji, I took them to Sanjusangendo, Gion, Yasaka Shrine, and Nishiki Market. The autumn foliage at Tofuku-ji was a little disappointing, but both of the guests said they were overwhelmed by the 1,001 statues of the Thousand-Armed Kannon at Sanjusangendo. One of the guests had brought a high-end professional camera, so while explaining the Kannon, I also shared the origin of the camera brand's name.

    • 9:30 Meet at Hotel New Otani (travel by private car) – Odaiba – Asakusa – Gaienmae – Omotesando – Harajuku – Meiji Shrine – Disband at Shibuya 15:50

What's a Private Car Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Odaiba, Asakusa, and Shibuya The guests were visiting Japan for the first time, and I proposed a tour covering the basic highlights along with places that are easier to reach by car, arranged with the help of driver Makita. The route covered Odaiba, Asakusa, Gaien-dori, Omotesando, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya. At Odaiba, we were blessed with good weather and enjoyed a pleasant stroll, and the guests were delighted by the Rainbow Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, and the Gundam statue. In Asakusa, they enjoyed the atmosphere of the town and were charmed by the women in kimono, calling everything "beautiful," and they also bought some souvenirs. Along Gaien-dori, they took photos of the beautifully colored ginkgo tree-lined avenue, and enjoyed the National Stadium from the car window. After that, we walked along Omotesando and entered Meiji Shrine. Since we also had lunch there, we used up all our time, so we let the driver head back and I traveled together with the guests by taxi to Shibuya, which was on my way home as well. From Parco we walked through Spain Slope and Center Street into the Shibuya crossing, and just as the guests' excitement reached its peak, we ended the tour. I believe they enjoyed it.

Hello! I am Kyoko who has been working as a guide since 2017. I was born in Kyoto. So, my name comes from Kyoto which is Japan’s beautiful ancient capital . And “ko” literally means child in Japanese. Thus, my name Kyoko means Kyoto’s child, Kyoko. But some guests call me Kyoto. It’s okay, not a big problem.
But to say the truth, I feel like this, ” Am I like an ancient person? No way~!!…” I am mainly guiding in and around Tokyo. Tokyo has two faces of well-advanced and old-fashioned. So, you can enjoy both high-tech technology and historical culture plus delicious food and drinks, too. You will surely be inspired in this city with me. Anyway, looking forward to meeting you in the near future. Thank you in advance!

What Is a Private Kyoto Walking Tour Like in November? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They had expected mid-November in Japan to be much colder, and were surprised at how mild it actually was when they arrived. As you can see in the photo, one of them was wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt. Even so, the guests walked at a good pace, which allowed the tour to proceed on schedule and was a great help to me. Although it rained lightly during the tour, I believe the guests enjoyed themselves. They plan to visit Mount Koya the next day.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Shitennoji, and Dotonbori The guests preferred a brisk pace and wanted to see as many places as possible in a short time. Shitennoji Temple was not originally part of the plan, but since the guests had traveled to Koyasan the previous day and were from Europe, the conversation about temples became lively. As Shitennoji was on our route, the guests decided they wanted to visit, so we toured the temple grounds and enjoyed the Buddhist statues and paintings. The guests watched the monks chanting sutras with great interest. At Osaka Castle we came across two wedding couples and children dressed for Shichi-Go-San, and at Shitennoji as well the guests were delighted to see charming children celebrating Shichi-Go-San. The guests enjoyed Osaka's local cuisine at Kuromon Market and Dotonbori, and by the time we took photos at the Glico sign, the guests were smiling broadly and seemed to be truly enjoying Osaka. I saw the guests off at their hotel, and we parted ways.

Hi! I’m an official English guide in Wakayama prefecture. I’m also a national guide as well. I’d like to expand my guide area to help tourists.
The town of Osaka offers a different atmosphere than Tokyo. I like both exciting Osaka and nature-filled Wakayama Prefecture.
If you stay in Osaka for 3 days, you can go to Koyasan for one day, or even for a day trip, so I recommend sightseeing at Koyasan.
If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, the nature of Koyasan will relax you.
I will introduce you to the unique culture, history and must-see sights.

Title: What Is a Private Guided Tour of Himeji Castle and Engyoji Temple Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group who moved smoothly throughout the tour. Both were very interested in each spot and looked around with great curiosity. One of the guests took many photographs enthusiastically. I also received a great many questions from the group, which showed their high level of interest. Both had already visited Japan several times before, and I felt they were very fond of Japan. At Engyoji Temple, various events (such as an autumn leaves festival and Japanese taiko drum performances) were starting from that day, so preparations were being carried out actively. In addition, the "Great Lecture Hall," which is normally closed to visitors, was open that day, so we were able to go inside. At Himeji Castle as well, they toured very enthusiastically. At Mikuni-bori, we were able to see the very rarely observed "white heron," which is the origin of Himeji Castle's alternate name, "White Heron Castle." As they wished to have a meal, I guided them to a restaurant on Miyuki-dori, where we parted ways. This was my first time guiding guests from Europe, and I was able to hear many interesting stories, making it a very meaningful experience as a guide.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.
    Doomo Arigato Gozaimasu!

What's a 4-Hour Private Osaka Tour Like With a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report The travel agency acting as intermediary had specified several sightseeing spots to visit, so we had to cover all of them even though it took time. Since the group included a very young child with a stroller, we had to take detours to use elevators even in the subway, which added extra time. I initially suggested extending the tour, but since their tours in other locations had already run considerably over, they asked that the Osaka tour be completed within 4 hours. Even so, they were a lovely group, and they enjoyed the history of Osaka Castle, takoyaki in Dotonbori, and the refined atmosphere of the office district at the Umeda Sky Building. I feel they were able to experience three different sides of Osaka. In the end, the tour ran over by more than an hour, but I did not charge an extension fee, offering it as a gift to the guests who were working hard to raise their child.
