What Is a Private Day Trip from Tokyo to Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private day trip from Tokyo to Kyoto for a group visiting from North America. At Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, one of the guests nearly bumped their head on the low torii gates. At Nishiki Market, the guests enjoyed small cups of sake for a hundred yen each, tempura, and other treats. They mentioned that they wanted to have sushi at a restaurant before taking the Shinkansen, since they had not yet eaten sushi during their trip to Japan, so I guided them to a restaurant. Luckily, the restaurant, which is usually crowded, happened to be open, and we were able to be seated right away, which was fortunate.

Hello! I’m Emi (meaning “smile” or “laugh” in Japanese) , born, raised, and living in Osaka for more than half a century. What Is a Private Kyoto Tour with a Licensed Guide Like? Fushimi Inari, Nijo Castle, and Kinkaku-ji: A Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. At Fushimi Inari in particular, we made use of the wheelchair-accessible ramps and elevators so that the group could see as much of the Senbon Torii (Thousand Torii Gates) as possible. At Nijo Castle, we arranged for a rental electric-assist wheelchair to make moving around easier, and at Kinkaku-ji we kept the route to flat areas only. We took every measure to ensure smooth accessibility throughout. I was a little concerned about whether we could keep to the schedule on time, but we were able to finish exactly as planned. At Kinkaku-ji, our final stop, it began to snow, but the weather was not too severely cold. Regarding the tour, some of the guests said they most enjoyed the torii gates at Fushimi Inari and Kinkaku-ji, others enjoyed Kinkaku-ji, and others found Nijo Castle and Kinkaku-ji the highlights.

What Is a Private Tokyo Group Walking Tour Like in Winter? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a lively group visiting from North America. Some of the guests spoke Japanese and kindly shared memories with me. Since some members of the group had difficulty walking and some needed smoking breaks, we toured at a relaxed pace with frequent rest stops. As lunch ended up being rather late, I felt I should plan the pacing more carefully next time. It was a cold day with light snow flurries, but the guests had come well prepared with warm clothing. In the photo, some of the guests were resting during a break, so only part of the group appears.

Hi! Thank you for choosing us. I am very glad to be assigned as your guide, and to help you have a good time in Japan. While you are in Japan, I would like you to try some sweets (if you are allowed by the doctor, of course). There are so many kinds, but among them, I would like to recommend Ice cream, even in autumn or winter (enjoyable in a warm room). Have you ever tried a kind of ice cream, which is called Soft Cream in Japan? It’s much softer and creamier than usual ice cream, and sold in many varieties of flavor. Matcha flavour ones are easily found, or chocolate ones, but also they sell local flavors to boost the sales of their local products. To name some, delicious fruit flavours such as yuzu (citrus) or grapes, or strange ones with wasabi (a bit spicy and fragrant) or miso (usually used for salty soups, but tastes like caramel when it is sweetened). Shaved ice is good, too. I have an ice shaving machine in my house, but I wouldn’t bring it to a tour. I look forward to seeing you and helping you enjoy your day in Japan!

Title: What Does a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, and Meiji Shrine The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guided them to classic Tokyo sightseeing spots, including Asakusa, the Imperial Palace, and Meiji Shrine. In Asakusa, the guests tried strawberry daifuku, and at the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace they enjoyed the plum blossoms and winter cherry blossoms. Along the way, we stopped at Tokyo Station, where I helped with purchasing Shinkansen tickets. For lunch we had ramen at the Marunouchi Building before heading to Meiji Shrine. I guided them as far as Takeshita Street, explained how to get back, and we said goodbye. I took photos of the guests at each place we visited. Since we were able to cover Tokyo's sightseeing spots during the tour, they planned to make the next day a shopping day. I hope this trip to Japan becomes a wonderful memory for the guests.

While I was waiting on the platform, I could not find them, so I gave a call and learned that they had become confused by a train delay and had missed one train. Since one of the guests could not eat vegetables, I thought okonomiyaki might be difficult, so I recommended ramen instead. But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.

Although it was not their first time in Japan, it was their first visit to Osaka, and they enjoyed themselves throughout the day. At Osaka Castle, they were amazed, saying they had never seen such a large castle before. They were especially fascinated by the stone walls built from massive boulders. Inside the castle grounds, a high school student who said they came from Okinawa struck up a conversation with the guests, and they enjoyed chatting together for a while. Lunch was arranged with plenty of time set aside. I took the guests to a set-meal restaurant in the Tenroku shopping street, where they were delighted with the grilled fish and the side dishes.

Title: What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Tour Like with a Licensed Guide? The guests booked an earlier bullet train in case of delays due to heavy snow, but in the end they arrived right on time. Since they had brought a stroller, I suggested skipping Daisho-in Temple in Miyajima, which has many stairs, and we spent our time more leisurely at other places instead. They enjoyed taking photos of the deer, and along the main approach they tried various foods such as oysters and deep-fried momiji manju. Just as I had warned them to be careful with the momiji manju packed in the stroller, a deer followed them, but this little mishap turned out to be an enjoyable experience as well. They had already reserved their return bullet train, but since they wanted to briefly see the Peace Park, we took the World Heritage Sea Route to the Peace Park and then returned to the station by streetcar.

Hi, I’m Kahori, a nationally licensed tour guide, and delighted to show people around this area. For the past almost 10 years, I have mainly guided foreign medical professionals around Hiroshima City and Miyajima, gaining a deep understanding of the effects of radiation and the support for A-bomb survivors.
Hiroshima is a city of rivers and the sea. Along the rivers Cherry trees line, and the calm Seto Inland Sea, dotted with islands, creates a stunning landscape. Also, the sea has many islands called “art islands” which have fantastic arts relating to the art festival “Setouchi Triennale”. In addition to our two World Heritage Sites, this area is rich in attractive resources. I hope many of you will come and experience this fascinating land. Personally, I am very passionate about modern art and enjoy sports like stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) on our rivers.
I look forward to meeting you, interacting with you, and also, learning from you!

What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests visited Japan from North America and were staying in Tokyo before returning home. They were very interested in Japan and asked a wide range of questions, from politics (the differences between the U.S. president and the Japanese prime minister, the number of political parties, the electoral system, and alternative energy policy) to TKG (whether the raw egg used in "tamago kake gohan" is safe to eat, and whether there is any concern about salmonella). During our conversation, I learned that the guests love cats, so we made a small detour to show them the "Shinjuku East Exit Cat" (commonly known as the 3D cat). Unfortunately, due to what seemed to be a monitor malfunction, the screen was completely dark, but despite this hiccup we were able to complete the tour along the planned route.

Title: What Is a 6-Hour Private Kyoto Tour Like in Winter Snow? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. Although they had previously experienced transferring at airports in Japan, this was their first time doing proper sightseeing here. As predicted by the forecast, it was a cold day, with snow repeatedly falling and stopping. At times the snow fell quite heavily, but not enough to remain on the roads. Still, a little snow had accumulated on the rooftops of places such as Kinkaku-ji. We visited four locations in six hours and also sat down properly at a restaurant to eat, so it became a somewhat busy tour. The guests got along very well together, and while one of them seemed a little tired and fussy in the latter half, there were no major problems. The photo was taken at Kinkaku-ji.

I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

Title: What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like from Haneda Airport? A Licensed Guide's Report I had visited Terminal 3 of Haneda Airport several times before for pickups, but this was my first time at Terminal 2. I had designated a waiting lounge as the meeting point, but the guests were waiting near a different lounge inside the security area, so it took some time to locate each other and meet up. Since we were able to meet at 09:20, we shifted the tour one hour later. I reflected that at the airport I should have chosen a meeting point near the train station. Despite my oversight, the guests appeared to enjoy the tour throughout. As they preferred taking photos and shopping over visiting historical sites, at the Imperial Palace I limited the guidance to the area around Wadakura Fountain Park. On the other hand, since everyone had a hearty appetite, we spent more time than usual at Tsukiji. As they wished to shop at a store dealing in secondhand brand-name goods in Shibuya, after guiding them at the Scramble Crossing I took them to a well-known store on Center Street before we parted ways.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.
