    Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Nikko Like in Winter? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests chose Nikko as the first destination of their trip to Japan after completing the Tokyo Marathon. The temperature that day was low (0 to 2 degrees) and it was very cold, which was tough, but on the other hand there were few travelers, so we were able to sightsee smoothly. Nikko is currently in its off-season, so a sweets shop we had planned to visit was closed and we could not follow the itinerary exactly, but the guests understood, and I was able to finish the work pleasantly. Along the way, the guests enjoyed the history and anecdotes of Nikko, and I connected these to various everyday topics, so we spent an enjoyable time together. One of the guests said they were addicted to coffee, and since I have a similar tendency, our conversation about coffee blossomed. The guests had visited many temples across Asia before, but they were especially surprised by the explanation of the difference between Shinto and Buddhism, and by the fact that Shinto was not originally something called a religion. At the end, I asked about their upcoming travel plans in Japan and provided recommendations for those places (suggestions for food and sightseeing times) before finishing the tour.

    Can You Do a Private First-Time Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report from Yanaka to Harajuku The group visiting Japan for the first time were guests from Europe and North America. We started the walk from Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi, an area that is not a major tourist destination. While walking along Yanaka Ginza, the guests soon purchased dried fruits, nuts, dango, and dorayaki. Having begun to enjoy the flavors of Japan, we continued walking toward Nezu Shrine. Next we headed to a sushi restaurant in Ginza. The guests savored authentic sushi and were delighted. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, since it was raining and cold, we limited our visit to the area around the Ninomaru Garden. At a rest area, I explained about Edo Castle and the Imperial Palace, and then we moved to Harajuku. After strolling along Takeshita Street, we parted ways.

    What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest joined solo from North America. They had also taken a tour the previous day and wanted to decide on the destinations after we met, which made me a little nervous, but we chose the places together while they showed me photos from their visits. First, they wanted to casually enjoy some delicious wagyu beef, so we went to Tsukiji. It was a pleasure to see them generously savoring everything they wanted to eat. In Akihabara, when I introduced the home appliances and the plastic model section at Yodobashi Camera, they looked at everything with intense interest. After passing through Ueno, we visited a small tea house near the Sakuragi area. It was beautifully preserved as a traditional old house, and in the tatami room they were able to listen to the shamisen, which they found deeply moving.

    Title: What's a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like in Winter? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting from North America. At the Imperial Palace, we entered through Otemon Gate and took our time viewing the Fujimi-yagura Keep, the orchard, the Tenshudai (former castle keep foundation), Bairin-zaka slope, and the Ninomaru Garden. They took great interest in the plants and stone walls and asked many questions. Because it was so cold, they said they wanted to stop at a cafe, so we took a break at a Starbucks near Wadabori Park before walking to the Nijubashi Bridge. Going directly from the East Gardens to Nijubashi is demanding, but taking a break along the way helps relieve fatigue, so I would like to do it this way from now on. They were delighted by the scenery of the moat, the keep, and Nijubashi Bridge. At Tsukiji, since it was cold outside, we went into a soba restaurant and they enjoyed shrimp tempura soba. It was a cold day, warm enough to make hot food especially welcome. At Meiji Shrine, they seemed very satisfied with the quiet, serene atmosphere, and it was memorable to see them bow deeply as they passed through the torii gate on the way out. After briefly walking along Takeshita Street in Harajuku, we headed to Shibuya and parted ways just after crossing the scramble crossing. I had been worried about rain or snow, but we were able to finish just before it started, which was fortunate.

    Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour by Car Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. One of the guests had previously worked at a university, and since I myself had once taken part in a two-week English teaching training program at that same university, we enjoyed talking about it for a while. One of the guests mentioned that their hometown had changed quite a lot, with many buildings now going up. Indeed, my own image of the area was of open countryside, so it does seem to have changed considerably. Unfortunately it rained, but since we used a private car, I gave introductions to the places we would visit in the car beforehand and then explained the things we could see once we arrived on site. One of the youngest members of the group fussed from time to time, but there were no problems with the progress of the tour. Previously I had received a request from [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) regarding covering the admission fee for Todai-ji in Nara, so in the same way for Kyoto I paid the admission fee for Kinkaku-ji in advance and have attached the receipt. The photo was taken at the sushi restaurant where we had lunch.

Although it turned out to be a rainy day, the rain was not as heavy as expected, and we were able to proceed with the tour smoothly. During the tour, one of the guests especially enjoyed Kiyomizu-dera Temple, while another was fond of Koshin-do. After the tour ended in Gion, I wrote down and handed over directions for their return route to the Hotel. Since they would be staying in Kyoto for two more days, I provided information about the free English guide service at the Imperial Palace in front of the Hotel, introduced Sanjusangen-do Temple, and recommended okonomiyaki for a meal.

    What Is a Private Car Tour of Kyoto Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. This tour was originally planned to use public transportation, but because walking was slow for the guests and rain was forecast on the day of the tour, we switched to traveling by car. However, on the day of the tour, in addition to rain there was strong wind, and all of the guests were shivering. After Nijo Castle, the plan had been to take them to Kinkaku-ji and Gion, but they said they would like to skip Kinkaku-ji and eat warm ramen in Gion, so I took them to a ramen restaurant in Gion. This was two hours earlier than scheduled, but with the guests' agreement we parted ways there.

    What Is a Private Tokyo Tour Like After the Tokyo Marathon? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were runners who completed the Tokyo Marathon in March. Many participants in the Tokyo Marathon come to Japan as international visitors, and during the tour we happened to meet several people the guests knew. Some visitors come to Japan combining work with sightseeing through related organizations. As the Tokyo Marathon has become a major international race, many runners come to Japan, and I am grateful that they choose to book a private tour. The guests showed genuine interest in everything they saw and heard, and as a guide it was a pleasure to share a full itinerary with them. In Shibuya we enjoyed ramen together, which was a favorite of theirs. Since I had been informed in advance about a dietary preference, I ordered a salt-flavored ramen, but we realized the broth contained pork, which momentarily concerned me. The shop owner kindly offered to make it using only salt without the broth, and as a result the guests happily enjoyed it, saying it was delicious. I am grateful to the ramen shop in Shibuya. It was a great learning experience.

    Welcome to Japan. I hope you are going to enjoy your stay.

    Who am I?
    I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
    I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.
    I hope I can attend to you with the Japanese politeness, hospitality and smile.

    What can I be expected?
    I would like to introduce the photogenic sites, the indigenous experiences
    and good Japanese local food around Tokyo, Hakone/Mt Fuji.
    I might be able to show you the features of shrine and temple with a religious manner if you’d like.
    As a matter of fact, I don’t have a specific religion to believe, though.
    I love Japan and that’s why I started a new career as a guide.

    What do I love?
    Most of all, my family. I have a wife 56 yrs old, a son 28 yrs old and a daughter 25 yrs old.
    I like eating raw fish and sushi, buckwheat noodles and curry rice.

    How do I spend my spear time?
    I run for 5 km in the morning listening to my favorite music.
    I might have a chance to go to a studio program in the fitness club nearby once a week.

    8:20 Waiting at the Hotel. 8:40 Met the guests. The guests were visiting Japan for the first time, currently residing in South America. After a brief discussion, we set off with a plan to visit the Imperial Palace, the Shibuya area, and Asakusa. The guests had arrived in Japan the previous day and were planning to stay in Tokyo. I helped them work out their sightseeing plans. 9:00-10:00 From Sakuradamon to the Nijubashi bridge area of the Imperial Palace. Explained history centered on the imperial family, the samurai governments, and the Tokugawa. 10:00-11:30 Moved to Shibuya Station. Obtained materials at the tourist information center. Took a break at the Starbucks by the Hachiko crossing while reviewing the sightseeing plan. 11:30-13:00 Walked through Center-Gai, Mega Don Quijote, the Pokemon Center inside PARCO, Koen-dori, Yoyogi Park, and up to Meiji Shrine. 13:00-13:30 Explanation at the entrance of Meiji Shrine. Strolled along Takeshita Street. 13:30-14:30 Had lunch on Takeshita Street, at the conveyor-belt sushi restaurant they requested. After the meal, we strolled a little around Ura-Harajuku and parted ways at Omotesando. The guests had already selected several places to visit during their stay in Tokyo based on reviews. From these, we initially considered a plan to visit both the western and eastern areas, but later revised it to focus only on the western area. I received many questions from one of the guests in particular. As the tour progressed and our conversation deepened, the guests also shared things about their family and some small concerns they had.
