    Title: What's a Rainy-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, and Fukagawa Body: The guests were visitors from North America. Initially, they had asked for help buying tickets to Kyoto, which is why I understood the early 8:00 start, but when we met they told me they had already purchased the tickets the day before. What they wished to see were the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, and Harajuku's Takeshita Street, along with lunch. The forecast said the rain would stop around 11:00, but it was raining quite heavily. As a rainy-day alternative I had also considered the Fukagawa Edo Museum, but since the ticket purchase was no longer needed and it was too early to go there, I headed to Nijubashi, hoping the rain would ease. When we arrived it was indeed raining, and quite hard at that, so I gave my explanation of the Imperial Palace at the Nanko Rest House. (It had just opened, so we were lucky.) I gave a broad explanation of the history, the appearance of the outer gardens in the Edo period, and Edo Castle, and they listened very attentively. After taking photos of the Kusunoki statue and Nijubashi in the rain, we had planned to go straight to the East Gardens, but as the rain turned to sleet and it grew colder, and the timing was just right, I suggested the Fukagawa Edo Museum and we headed there. At the museum they were delighted, saying they had never seen a museum like it and that it was very interesting, which was a relief. On the way back, it had even turned to snow! After that we walked briefly along Omotesando to reach the lunch they had been looking forward to. They had found a gluten-free udon restaurant themselves, so I took them there. It was delicious! After that the rain eased just at the right time, and by the time we went around Meiji Shrine it had stopped, and we said goodbye, with me telling them to enjoy the rest of their time at their leisure. I handed them a paper with the return station and how to transfer on the subway written on it. They both said it was a very memorable tour because of the rain and that the conversation had been interesting, which was a relief.

    Title: What's a Private Snowy-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Nezu Shrine, and Ueno The guests were visitors from Europe. It was their first visit to Japan, and after Tokyo they planned to travel to Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Osaka before returning home. Until the day before, the travel agency had not shared the guests' contact information, and it turned out that neither the messages from [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) nor those from me, including via messaging app, had reached the guests at all. We met in the morning, reconfirmed the itinerary, and set off. It had been snowing since morning and the temperature was low, making it the worst possible conditions. Along the way I offered a disposable hand warmer to one of the guests. At Tsukiji Market, the guests thoroughly enjoyed hopping between stalls, savoring sea urchin and tuna. Seeing both the main hall and the torii gate of Nezu Shrine amid the falling snow had a special charm. As the snow grew heavier, we took shelter at Cafe Nezu. After purchasing flower seeds at Hanashige, we tried to head to Asakusa by taxi, but in this weather we could not catch one, so we walked to Ueno Station. A pleasant reward was seeing early-blooming cherry blossoms in Ueno Park. Since the guests liked Tsukiji and wanted to return in the evening, I recommended three sushi restaurants, and we parted ways.

    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good

A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, and Nihonbashi The guests were a group from North America and Europe who had gathered in Tokyo the day before, originally connected through a shared background. This trip was arranged as a memorable getaway with friends. One member of the group had visited Japan a few years earlier, had loved it, and recommended it as a travel destination. For the others, it was their first visit to Japan. One member of the group was in charge of video recording and planned to create a commemorative video of the trip. They seemed to enjoy every place we visited, taking commemorative photos against many backdrops: the torii gate and sake barrels at Meiji Shrine; Sakuradamon Gate, the Nijubashi Bridge, the pine trees, and the moats at the Imperial Palace; the Kaminarimon Gate, Nakamise shopping street, and the five-story pagoda at Asakusa; the early-blooming cherry blossoms at Sumida Park; and the view of the Tokyo Skytree from there. They also had a lively time at the food floor in the basement of the Nihonbashi Takashimaya department store. I pointed out and introduced Japanese daikon radish and bananas imported from abroad, and they were amazed to see white strawberries unique to Japan for the first time, taking photos in surprise. For lunch, they each ordered their favorites — sushi, tempura, soba, simmered fish, and fried chicken — and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. At the table, some of the guests proudly shared with me, a Japanese guide, a couple of Japanese phrases they had been taught back home, which turned out to be quite rude. While cautioning them, "You absolutely cannot say those out loud during a meal!", we all burst out laughing together. At "Kaminari Issa," located just past the Nitenmon Gate of Sensoji Temple, everyone tried matcha beer and liked its refreshing taste. At first I had thought that guiding this energetic group might be quite demanding, but everyone was so cheerful and easygoing that, strangely, I felt no fatigue at all after the tour ended.

    Title: What Is a Private Guided Day Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The day was unseasonably cold and rainy, so I chose a route that used buses as much as possible for getting around. At the start of the tour, the guests mentioned that a travel agency had not explained the JR PASS to them in advance, and they had not known that a voucher needed to be exchanged. Since they had purchased extra tickets for the Tokyo to Kanazawa section, they wanted to exchange them, and as the ticket counter was relatively empty, with the guests' consent we decided to handle the issuance of the JR PASS and the reservation for the Kanazawa to Kyoto section for the following day during the tour. Regarding the extra tickets they had purchased, they said they would negotiate directly with the local travel agency. We ended up starting the tour about 50 minutes late, but by focusing on the key highlights we were able to cover as much of the planned route as possible, though we ran about 40 minutes over. Since I had heard that fresh raw fish was not to their liking, at Omicho Market I guided them to a restaurant serving grilled dishes to their taste, and the tour concluded there. The guests enjoyed the tour itself.

    Title: What's a Private Osaka Walking Tour Like in Winter? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Oceania. They had spent time in Tokyo and Kyoto before arriving in Osaka the previous day. It was their second visit to Japan, but their first time in Osaka. The weather was very cold with light rain and wind, which felt unfortunate, but the guests mentioned that they would soon travel on to other destinations and that today would be their last cold day, so we carried out the itinerary as planned. To avoid climbing stairs, we kept the visits light and focused on enjoying the atmosphere of each place, then returned to the Hotel early. In the warm lounge, we finished the tour by talking about shops where they could buy the souvenirs they were planning for their grandchildren, such as a basketball uniform and a kimono.

    What's a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like Before a Baseball Game? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were friends visiting Japan to watch a Major League Baseball opening game. As they were on a short trip and wanted to see both Tokyo and Kyoto, I guided them around Tokyo's main highlights, helped them purchase Shinkansen tickets, and took them to Suidobashi Station, the nearest station to Tokyo Dome, to conclude the tour. At Ueno Park, they were delighted to see the early-blooming cherry blossoms. They also mentioned that they really wanted to see a panda if there was one, so I took them to Ueno Zoo as well, where they were very satisfied to come face to face with Xiang Xiang. Although it was a little cold, the weather was fine, and I believe they were able to fully enjoy their day.

    Title: What's a Two-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tokyo Station, Ueno, and Tsukiji Continuing from the previous day, I attended to the group visiting from North America over two consecutive days in March. In addition to Japanese culture and history, the guests had a strong interest in art and architecture, and they thoroughly enjoyed the architecture of Tokyo Station and the art at the Tokyo National Museum. They were also delighted by the food tasting at Tsukiji, and mentioned they would like to visit again on a separate day. Likewise, they said they would come to Ueno Park to coincide with the cherry blossom festival. As they planned to leave Tokyo for a time to visit Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Hiroshima before returning to Tokyo, they asked for recommendations on places to visit, which I provided. Since we had exceeded the scheduled time at the museum, I adjusted the plan and guided them through the basement food floor of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi department store before taking my leave.

    Who am I?
    I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
    I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.
    I hope I can attend to you with the Japanese politeness, hospitality and smile.

    What can I be expected?
    I would like to introduce the photogenic sites, the indigenous experiences
    and good Japanese local food around Tokyo, Hakone/Mt Fuji.
    I might be able to show you the features of shrine and temple with a religious manner if you’d like.
    As a matter of fact, I don’t have a specific religion to believe, though.
    I love Japan and that’s why I started a new career as a guide.

    What do I love?
    Most of all, my family. I have a wife 56 yrs old, a son 28 yrs old and a daughter 25 yrs old.
    I like eating raw fish and sushi, buckwheat noodles and curry rice.

    How do I spend my spear time?
    I run for 5 km in the morning listening to my favorite music.
    I might have a chance to go to a studio program in the fitness club nearby once a week.

A Licensed Guide's Report The meeting point was listed as a hotel, so I searched the area around the address, but it turned out to be a small accommodation tucked inside a residential neighborhood, and I had some difficulty finding it. The guest was visiting from North America and was on their first trip to Asia. The guest had previously run a small advertising agency, and since I had once worked at an advertising agency as well, they were familiar with my former company. Because of this, we communicated very easily. I believe I was able to show them both the traditional and the ultra-modern sides of Tokyo. They were impressed that the streets of Tokyo were clean and free of litter, and that the city was so quiet. They mentioned that infectious diseases were still a serious problem back home. The tour ended after six hours, and since the guest wanted to visit Akihabara, we purchased a ticket at JR Yurakucho, I explained how to get there, and we parted ways.
