    What Is a Private Osaka Day Tour Like for Guests Who Prefer a Slow Pace? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe traveling as part of a longer cruise journey, planning to return home the following week. They requested to walk as slowly as possible, and stairs were particularly difficult for some of the group, so they held hands whenever walking. They managed well around Osaka Castle and the Shinsekai area, but by the time we reached Dotonbori, signs of fatigue could be seen on their faces. Many of the subway station exits did not have escalators or elevators, which unfortunately meant they had to go up and down stairs several times. Even so, they seemed to make new discoveries at each place we visited, and I believe it was a good opportunity for them to get to know Osaka.

While riding the subway, I overheard a young child telling their parent how cool the guests looked. When I shared this with the guests, they seemed quietly pleased and delighted. At Miraiza in Osaka Castle, they enjoyed throwing shuriken, and they bought a soft sword and a kokeshi doll as gifts. At the next stop, Shinsekai, they also tried archery. Since they planned to visit Dotonbori at night, they decided to return to the hotel, so although it was a little early, I saw them off at the hotel.

    Bye bye smart phone!! Let’s enjoy Japan without bothering to check up your phone all the time with not AI but a local guide like me. Hi, my name is Mimmy. You may think this sounds like a kitten’s name.
    I use this nickname because it sounds cute and easy to remember. However,
    I actually look rounded, a middle aged woman more like a yellow character of M&Mchocolate, which reminds you of my name easily when you see me.
    I was born in Osaka, went to school in Kobe, went to work in Kyoto and married but still live in Osaka. I am a local, native Osakan. My 3 children are all grown up and live separately except one son. Now I live with one son and a husband in suburbs of the Osaka city.
    I like travelling, walking around the town and anything new.
    I got my guide license in 2017 and started guiding after that. I wasn’t able to work during Covid period but start guiding in 2022 again. I guide Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe and have experienced more than100 tours including bus tours.
    I would like to tell you about the itineraries I usually have in each area.
    In Osaka, we usually go to Osaka castle, Shinsekai and Dotonbori Namba area.
    I think most important part you should see is Dotonbori Namba in Osaka.
    This place is vibrant , energetic, full of 3D signs and different from any other place in Japan.
    In Kyoto, we cannot see all famous sightseeing spots in one day.
    It will be better to visit each area respectively. I recommend guests who come to Kyoto first time to visit East area, Kiyomizu Temple>Sannenzaka>Ninenzaka>Ishibeikouji>Yasaka shrine> Gion area. This area has an atmosphere of traditional old Kyoto. The most Kyoto like places which suit Kimono. You can rent Kimono in a lot of places around here.
    The second place I recommend you is West area: Golden temple and Arashiyama area where Bamboo forest , Tenryuji temple, mountains and a river. There are several nice gardens in this area. If you want to enjoy the nature quietly, you
    should come here when it is not crowded (Winter is the most quiet)
    In Nara which used to be a capital even older than Kyoto, we visit Todaiji Temple where a huge Buddha is sitting inside of one of the largest wooden hall and you can play with deer everywhere in Nara. Naramachi: a small town in this area is a local place where small interesting shops are.
    In Kobe, a port city, you can visit Japanese Sake breweries, Herb garden and the top of Mt.Rokko for viewing Kobe city. A small China town is there, too.

    Now I bet you want to leave home to explore somewhere else you do not know.
    Not only going to somewhere else, we can help you to do several experiences: making tea, making Japanese sweet, making Takoyaki(food), wearing Kimono, making food samples, attending a tea ceremony, throwing Shriken like Ninja, Using bow and arrow like Samurai, , , ,

    What Does a Private Kyoto Day Tour with a Licensed Guide Include? Arashiyama Cherry Blossom Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. I took them to the Monkey Park, Okochi Sanso Villa, the Bamboo Grove, Tenryu-ji Temple (Sogenchi Garden and the Hyakka-en flower garden), the Kimono Forest, and Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple. At the guests' request, the tour was ended one hour earlier than planned. (The request to end the tour one hour earlier, canceling the originally planned lunch time and the visit to Gio-ji Temple, came in the day before the tour.) A change to the tour itself is fine, but having to cancel the restaurant reservation the day before left me feeling very apologetic toward the restaurant that always takes good care of us. As it happened, I had no tour scheduled the previous day, so I was able to handle it. Today's tour enjoyed fine weather, and it coincided with the peak of the cherry blossom season, so I believe the guests were able to fully enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto. It seemed that the Hyakka-en flower garden at Tenryu-ji Temple, where many flowers were in full bloom, was a particular highlight for one of the guests, while the Monkey Park was the favorite for the other.     What Is a Private Kamakura Day Tour Like Before a Cruise? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests arrived in Japan for the first time and spent the day sightseeing in Kamakura, with a cruise departing from Yokohama planned for the following day, making for a full and active schedule. They were traveling at a relaxed and leisurely pace. On their first visit to Japan, they were impressed by how different the scenery was from their home region in North America, and especially by how little litter they saw. They were very interested in the differences between Shinto and Buddhism and in the daily customs of Japanese life. The main goals of the Kamakura tour were the Great Buddha of Kamakura and the bamboo grove at Hokoku-ji Temple, but they also showed great interest in the beauty of Hase-dera Temple and in a wedding ceremony that happened to be taking place at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. As the first day of a journey that will take them around various parts of Japan, I hope their experience in Kamakura will prove very useful going forward.

    **Title:** What's a Private Group Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report **Body:** This was a combined tour handled by two guides at the guests' request, covering a total of 14 people (a group of 9 and a group of 5). The day before the tour, the tour coordinator informed us that the arrival time at Kanazawa Station would be 10:46. Including dropping off luggage at the hotel, we decided to travel to Myoryuji Temple by taxi in separate vehicles. All of the guests were from Europe, and there had been a prior request that explanations were not necessary and that they wanted to see as many places as possible, so we arranged the tour accordingly. On the day, the coordinator asked us to divide the tour into groups of 7 each, but following the guests' instructions, after the Myoryuji Temple tour, some of the guests who had difficulty walking would move by taxi, so the tour was divided into a group of 11 (handled by YOSHINO) and a group of 3 (handled by SASAKI). During the tour, some members moved about freely, and at one point one of the guests was feeling a bit under the weather, so we took them to a pharmacy along the way. However, following the schedule, the guests were able to enjoy the Myoryuji Temple tour, the cherry blossoms in full bloom, a meal at the food stalls, and shopping at a gold leaf shop.     What Is a Private Himeji Castle Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. After meeting at Himeji Station, we visited the Castle View spot, Himeji Castle, Koko-en Garden, and the rooftop of Egret Himeji, ending the tour back at Himeji Station. This day was a Saturday with the cherry blossoms in full bloom and pleasant weather, so Himeji Castle was very crowded with many visitors, and there was quite a wait to purchase entrance tickets. The interior of the main keep was also crowded, and it took a considerable amount of time to complete the visit. Koko-en Garden was busy with visitors as well, but the cherry blossoms were beautiful and various other flowers were beginning to bloom, which was lovely. The tour ran a little longer than planned, but the guests enjoyed the experience.

    What's a Private Full-Day Cherry Blossom Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America on their first trip to Japan, having arrived the previous day and scheduled to depart on a cruise the following day. Before their arrival, we had agreed to visit Senso-ji Temple, Nezu Shrine, and one cherry blossom spot, but during lunch they mentioned they wanted to extend the time and add one more destination, so we discussed it and decided to go to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. Anticipating the crowds, we went to Ueno Park first, which turned out to be the right choice. In addition to the cherry blossom avenue, the cherry blossoms around Shinobazu Pond were also in full bloom today, so we made our way there as well. Asakusa was crowded with many domestic tourists, and since the guests preferred to avoid the crowds, we saw Senso-ji Temple and then quickly took a taxi to Nezu. Not expecting much, we dropped by a 100-year-old coffee shop, and miraculously there was one seat available. Thanks to that, the guests were very pleased. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, they were impressed by the contrast with the surrounding business district. Considering the guests and the fatigue from arriving the day before, we walked slowly, but even so they walked a great deal. I would give them full marks.

As a Japanese person who is no slouch when it comes to wit and dry jokes, I spent a truly enjoyable time with them.

    What's a Private Anime-Themed Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Akihabara, Shibuya, and a Costume Photo Shoot 1. The Tour and the Guests' Reactions (1) Anime Costume Photo Shoot The guests were a group visiting from Europe. In advance, they had expressed via email a wish to have photos taken in anime costumes, so I arranged with Studio ICHI, which offers services such as samurai photo shoots, to prepare a costume of a "Demon Slayer" character (Nezuko) and we did a photo shoot in a traditional Japanese house-style studio. The guests were delighted and took many photos in a traditional Japanese house (over 100 years old). We also went, still in costume, to nearby Ishikawajima Park (along the Sumida River), where they enjoyed a photo shoot under the cherry blossom trees. (2) Shopping in Akihabara At TAMASHII NATIONS (the Bandai shop), they bought a figure of Yuji Itadori, the main character of "Jujutsu Kaisen," available only at that store, and at a small shop under the railway tracks they also found figures of Nobara Kugisaki and Satoru Gojo from "Jujutsu Kaisen." The guests were thrilled. Since "Jujutsu Kaisen" has finished its serialization and has become somewhat less popular in Japan, finding the figures was quite challenging. Even so, when we found the desired items and they thanked me with a beaming smile, it was truly rewarding as a guide. In particular, when I explained that the figure purchased at TAMASHII NATIONS was a store-exclusive item that could not be bought elsewhere, they looked genuinely happy. (3) Shibuya Crossing First, I had them watch the many people crossing the intersection from a high point along the passage toward the Inokashira Line. On the opposite side of this Inokashira Line passage is the Taro Okamoto mural depicted in "Jujutsu Kaisen," and we took photos in front of it. After that, they actually crossed the intersection, then turned back to look at Shibuya 109, and when I told them that this too appears in a scene of "Jujutsu Kaisen," the guests immediately understood and had an "Aha!" moment. The guests were amazed at how so many people cross the intersection in such an orderly manner, saying it was "Amazing." (4) Other The guests mentioned that they were tired from jet lag and wished to return to the hotel by taxi, so I guided them to the taxi stand, saw them off, and ended the tour. (5) Guide's Impressions The guests came to Japan together as a reward for good school results, combined with a Christmas present. Seeing the smiling faces of the guests, who dedicated the whole day to an "anime day," and the excitement that filled the day was truly heartwarming and wonderful. It was a happy four hours in which I too was smiling throughout. 2. Special Notes I learned this time that there can be a time lag between the anime popular overseas and the anime currently popular in Japan, and that the selection available in Japan may not match the wishes of overseas guests. "Demon Slayer" and "Jujutsu Kaisen" are said to be very popular in Europe right now. However, in Japan, because a new "Demon Slayer" movie is scheduled to be released soon, items from the older works are no longer being sold, and since it was the timing just before the products for the next movie were released, it was hard to find a studio that could handle a shoot with the Nezuko costume. I consulted Studio ICHI, which offers a samurai costume photo shoot service, and it was made possible thanks to the cooperation of the owner, Mr. Mizuno. I am grateful for Studio ICHI's cooperation. As for the "Jujutsu Kaisen" figures, I inquired at several shops in advance, but since "Jujutsu Kaisen" has finished serialization and the boom in Japan has settled down for now, these too were in short supply and hard to find. I knew that TAMASHII NATIONS had exclusive items, but the others were difficult to locate, and I was fortunate that a small shop under the railway tracks that I visited on a whim had them in stock. 3. Notes I received notice that the guests posted a review. Please check it.

    What's a Relaxed Private Cherry Blossom Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had requested a relaxed itinerary that would not feel rushed, so incorporating the four locations they had originally specified, I planned a leisurely route: Hotel → Ginkaku-ji → the Philosopher's Path → Nanzen-ji → lunch (a soba restaurant) → Nijo Castle → Nishiki Market (Gokomachi-dori), where we parted ways. The guests were very much looking forward to seeing the cherry blossoms. This year the cherry blossoms in Kyoto bloomed slightly late, and on the day the city was on average about 70 percent in bloom, but along the Philosopher's Path, where the cherry trees are densely planted, the blossoms had reached full bloom. We proceeded at a pace of walking and stopping, and the guests took many photos from various angles. They also pointed their cameras at the magnificently blooming cherry blossoms in the gardens of Nanzen-ji and Nijo Castle. The guests already had enough background knowledge to be familiar with the word "shogun," so they seemed to understand well my explanation of the flow of events from the beginning to the end of the Edo period. As they had requested a soba restaurant for lunch, I guided them to a soba place where they enjoyed a high-quality soba set meal and were very pleased.
