The weather was clear and pleasant on the day, and the places we visited were not very crowded, so I think it made for a smooth tour. The guests had originally wished to visit the Historical Village, but since it was closed on Mondays, I recommended Hoheikan instead. As we had extra time, we visited Tanukikoji and Nijo Market, and then, since the guests seemed interested in anime, I introduced them to the Marudai Building. I believe they enjoyed it. We started at 10:00 in the morning and parted ways at 14:00, but since the guests did not stop for lunch, I did not ask about it. They seemed to really enjoy the hangan mochi they had at Hokkaido Shrine.

What Is a Private Half-Day Family Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, and Shibuya
I guided a group visiting from Europe. The booking was made through a travel agency, but almost no information had been shared with the guests. Some of the guests were interested in a prayer ceremony, so I thought of taking them there, but it turned out this was simply a recommendation from the travel agency, and since it involved a cost, they were unsure whether to go. When I explained again that the price was per wish rather than per person, they happily decided to take part. They chose "Good Health" and enjoyed the uniquely Japanese prayer ceremony lasting just under 30 minutes (purification, the recitation of prayers, and a sacred dance performed by a shrine maiden). It was lovely that a commemorative gift and souvenirs were also included. At Meiji Shrine, they were also delighted to see a wedding couple. After that, it turned into a shopping tour from Takeshita Street to Shibuya. One of the guests hardly spoke but loved shopping and took time to buy only carefully chosen items, so we stopped by many shops. During this time there was not much for me to do as a guide (I know very little about fashion), but we took a commemorative photo in front of the last shop, BAPE, before parting ways. At Tokyo Station, it was my first time being asked to issue tickets from a QR code (I have handled JR railway passes many times), so I struggled quite a bit. In the end, I learned that the ticket machines cannot process it unless it is within three days of travel, so we had to give up, which I felt bad about for the guests (it seems possible at the counter, but there was a long line so we gave up on that as well). It was a rather interesting and enjoyable half day, and although I had said nothing about it, they told me they would write a review, so I believe they were satisfied.

The guests were visitors interested in Akihabara, the anime town. First, we went to Tokyo Tower, and since the guests were interested in cherry blossoms, we walked from Tokyo Tower to the nearest station, Daimon, passing through Zojoji Temple. Along the way, a flower festival was being held, so we took some photos. After arriving at Tsukiji, we strolled through the streets and eagerly sampled tuna, dango, yakitori, grilled scallops, and rice crackers. Once the guests were satisfied, we moved on to Hamarikyu Gardens, where they thoroughly enjoyed the cherry blossoms they had been looking forward to. We arrived at Akihabara, the final destination, and after some explanation, the tour concluded.

Today I guided a group visiting from North America on a private one-day tour of Kyoto. They had researched their trip thoroughly and chose to start early, so most places were relatively uncrowded, which was wonderful. We strolled from the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove to the garden of Tenryu-ji Temple, and when we climbed up to the higher part of the garden, the cherry blossoms were exceptionally beautiful, and the guests were delighted. Kinkaku-ji Temple was also not too crowded, which was a pleasure. We went to Nishiki Market for lunch, but since the guests really wanted to have ramen, we headed to Ichiran near Shijo. They enjoyed it very much, and one of the guests even bought some ramen as a souvenir. Finally, we visited Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, which was also not too crowded, which was great. The guests were planning to watch the Miyako Odori in Gion, so we parted ways at the Gion Kobu Kaburenjo Theater.

What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Before a Cruise? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were travel-loving visitors from North America who had arrived in Japan the previous night and were set to depart on a cruise around Japan from Yokohama that evening, so precise time management was essential for this tour. Since they had reserved Skytree before arriving in Japan, we went up to the observation deck smoothly. In Asakusa, the flower festival happened to be taking place, so we were able to visit an especially special Sensoji Temple. In Shibuya, they experienced actually crossing the Scramble Crossing. As it was the 90th anniversary event of Hachiko's passing, we took a commemorative photo with the Hachiko statue adorned with a floral wreath. Since they said they wanted to try a strawberry fruit sandwich recommended by a friend, we bought some at a shop in the basement of Hikarie. As we had time to spare, we had a light snack at the eat-in space beside it. We returned to the Hotel a little ahead of schedule and finished the tour safely. It was a short time, but the guests seemed to have enjoyed a rich taste of Tokyo.

The guests visited from North America as part of a cruise. Some members of the group had difficulty walking, so moving between locations took extra time. One person always attended to another throughout the visit. It was not that they could not stand on their own, but walking was difficult. In addition, arranging lunch took some time because the group had a variety of preferences. At the Hakodate Magistrate's Office in Goryokaku Park, many staff members kindly helped so that the guests could enjoy the visit comfortably. I was very grateful for their support. Although it had rained the night before, today there were many clear skies, making it a comfortable and pleasant day for the tour. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guided a private one-day tour of Tokyo for guests visiting Japan for the first time from Europe.
The guests had arrived at Narita Airport the previous day and taken the Narita Express to Shinjuku. The main purpose of their visit to Japan was a cruise around Japan departing from Yokohama Port, starting the following day. They said they were looking forward to stopping at various regions across Japan. Their stay in Tokyo was only for this single day.
Aside from one brief rain shower, the tour took place under pleasant, clear skies.
We first went to Asakusa. Despite the early morning hour, it was very crowded. I explained about Senso-ji Temple and the history from Edo to Tokyo, what a five-story pagoda is, what Buddhism is, and the difference between Buddhism and Shinto. There was a question asking whether all Japanese people believe in Buddhism. The guests drew an omikuji fortune, got a "good luck" result, and were delighted. We strolled slowly along the Nakamise shopping street.
We then moved to Tsukiji, which was full of people. I explained the history of the fish market since the Edo period and the difference between Toyosu Market and the Tsukiji Outer Market. We looked around various shops, and the guests took a liking to shumai, which they purchased and tasted. There were also questions such as "Why are there so many people here?" "This is the first time seeing real wasabi," and "Do all people in Tokyo come here to buy fish?"
After this, we moved to Harajuku, first visiting Meiji Shrine. I explained about torii gates, Emperor Meiji, the history of Edo and Tokyo, the Meiji Restoration, and more. There was also a question about how many Christians there are in Japan. We took a short break at the café at Meiji Shrine. We then strolled along the crowded Takeshita Street, Cat Street, and Omotesando.
We moved to Shibuya, which was crowded despite it being daytime. I explained the history of Shibuya. We walked across the Scramble Crossing and took commemorative photos in front of the Hachiko statue. There were questions such as "Why are there so many people at the Scramble Crossing?" and "Are they all locals?"
After this, the guests wanted to have ramen for lunch, so we went to a casual noodle restaurant, where they ordered yakisoba. They noted that this menu item is not available at Japanese restaurants in their home city.
The guests commented that the whole city was very quiet and that everything seemed to run in an orderly manner, that there was no litter on the streets, and that they saw no homeless people. They also remarked that the trains and subways were clean and quiet, with no one chatting, which was completely different from where they live, and that the public restrooms were plentiful and clean.
After this, the guests really wanted to visit Rikugien Garden, so I saw them off at Komagome Station and we parted ways.

Masa was our tour guide. Masa was an amazing tour guide that communicated extremely well ahead of time about the sites we would like to see in Tokyo, picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, was very friendly and well prepared and finally but most importantly made our day in Tokyo very memorable.
We went to the Buddhist temple in Asakusa, Meiji Shinto Temple, imperial Palace, Shinjuku Gyoen National Gatden, and Shibuya Crossing. All were great and amazing suggestions by Masa.
Would highly recommend this tour as it was a private tour guide for a full day and provided discretion on which 5-6 sites you want to see. Also highly recommend our tour guide Masa who was a wealth of knowledge and very friendly and charming.
15/10 would do again.

We loved that we were able to choose 3-4 sites from a large selection and really spend enough time at each spot. What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Walking Tour of Hamarikyu, Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Yanaka? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from North America. They talked a great deal throughout the day and asked many questions. At Hamarikyu Gardens, they were drawn to the various flowers and took many photos. At the Tsukiji Outer Market, since it was still early for lunch, they ate very little and only bought a single shrimp tempura. In Asakusa, they eagerly shopped for souvenirs, and after stopping at a cafe, they liked the coffee drip there so much that they purchased a full set. They seemed very interested in Nezu Shrine, going out of their way to receive a purification ritual and to view the inside of the main hall. They were delighted to visit the so-called "Yanesen" area, where there were few tourists, saying it was a rare chance to see places that ordinary travelers do not usually go.
Before I started the guiding job in 2022, I had worked for private companies and been engaged in overseas business, which led me to be stationed in various English-speaking countries. Taking advantage of such experiences and also wishing to reciprocate the kindness extended to me during my career, I have decided to help visitors to Japan enjoy their stay and obtained a national guide license.
I am very honored and pleased to assist guests from overseas and enjoy seeing them having a great time visiting interesting spots in Japan and learning about the country. I look forward to serving more new guests and seeing them smile at the end of my private tours.

For those not wanting to read my entire post, let me say if you are going to Hakone, consider hiring Shinji. He is marvelous!
We went to Hakone, a notable spa town and a popular tourist destination due to its many hot springs being within view of nearby Mount Fuji, the most visited mountain in Japan. With our guide Shinji we visited the Hakone open air Museum, Hakone Shrine, Lake Ashi, Hakone, Japan, and took the Lake Ashi Cruise. Shinji’s knowledge about the sites, trains, cable cars, cruise, history, culture and languages (Japanese and English) made for a most efficient and memorable experience. Lastly, Shinji was very patient, as our getting to Hakone took more time than we expected, and adaptable, as we made the necessary adjustments to visit every relevant site we had hoped for. Great trip with a great guide!
Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report on Cherry Blossom Season
The guests were visitors from Europe, visiting Japan for the first time. They had arrived at Narita Airport the previous day via a connecting flight, then taken the Narita Express to their Hotel. The night before, they had strolled around Ginza and enjoyed dinner at an izakaya. The purpose of their visit to Japan was a cruise around Japan departing from Yokohama Port the day after next. They were also planning a day trip to Mount Fuji the following day. They mentioned they had been surprised by how cold it was after arriving in Japan the previous day.
Unlike the day before, the tour took place under clear, pleasant weather.
We first went to Shinjuku Gyoen. Since admission required advance reservation that day, I had booked entry in advance. Despite the early hour, it was very crowded with many tourists. With quite a large crowd, the cherry blossoms were nearly in full bloom. I gave a brief explanation of "the history of Shinjuku Gyoen." We strolled leisurely, taking photos here and there. There was a question about "how many types of cherry trees there are."
From here we moved to the Imperial Palace. We strolled through the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. The cherry blossoms ranged from nearly full bloom to just beginning to fall. We took commemorative photos in front of several cherry trees. I explained about "the history from the Edo period to the Meiji era," "the Meiji Restoration," "why Edo Castle became the Imperial Palace," and "an overview of the current Imperial Family." They remarked, "The pine trees are beautiful," and asked, "Does the Japanese Emperor hold political power?"
After this, the guests said they really wanted to try ramen, so we went to a ramen shop in Shimbashi. Both ordered miso ramen.
We then moved to Tokyo Tower. Inside it was extremely crowded with visitors. We went up to the main deck for a panoramic view of Tokyo. I explained about "the formation of Edo and Tokyo" and "Tokyo Tower and the Skytree." They commented, "Now I really understand how vast and sprawling a city Tokyo is."
We moved to Shibuya. Despite it being daytime, there were huge crowds. I explained about "the history of Shibuya." We walked across the Scramble Crossing and took commemorative photos in front of the Hachiko statue. There were questions such as "Why are there so many people at the Scramble Crossing?" and "Are they all locals?"
They commented, "The people crossing all walk in such an orderly and quiet way," "The whole city is so well planned and maintained, and everything runs in an orderly manner," and "There is no litter on the streets." They also remarked, "The trains and subways are clean and quiet, and no one is chatting," and "The public restrooms are plentiful and clean."
I saw them off at Shimbashi Station, ending the tour.

Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

What Is a Private Day Tour of Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a friendly and wonderful group visiting from North America. They were very interested in Japanese culture and religion, and had also visited Kyoto before coming to Hakone. In Kyoto, they told me they had visited temples and shrines and enjoyed shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) for their meals. In Hakone as well, they asked about the origins of Hakone Shrine and, at the Narukawa Art Museum, about the pigments used in Japanese-style paintings. At Lake Ashi, they also asked what kinds of fish live there, whether many people go fishing, and about the relationship between the Hakone Tozan Railway and a Swiss railway company.
In February 2017, I registered with Kanagawa prefecture as a National Interpreter Guide in English. Since then, I have guided mainly in Tokyo and Kamakura and Hakone in Kanagawa Prefecture, except during the corona virus epidemic. In addition, in February 2022, I became a Hakone Adventure Travel Guide certified by the Hakone DMO. I am especially good at walking and hiking tours. Here are my recommendations for Tokyo and Hakone.
Tokyo – Imperial Palace
The Imperial Palace is formally known as the Edo castle, the stronghold of the Tokugawa Shogunate. This place has been the residence of emperor of Japan since after the Meiji Restoration in 1868. The palace with a compound of 1.15 million square metere consists of the main palace where ceremonies and functions are held, the resindence of the Emperor and Empress, and the East Garden containing the ruins of Tensyukaku Donjon. The Chowadn Hall, located in the main Imperial Palace, is noted for the New Year’s visit by the general public to the Imperial Palace.
Tokyo – Asakusa
Asakusa is a famous sightseeing spot in Tokyo, which is reminiscent of the Edo period. This district has been flourishing as a temple town of Senso-ji, the oldest and the largest temple in Tokyo, Kaminarimon, or “Thunder Gate,” the outer gate of the temple is very famous as a landmark of Asakusa for its huge red lantern. Both domestinc and foreign tourists flock to thie venerable temple and the shopping arcade called “Nakamise” in the compound, the best place to buy traditional Japanese souvenirs in Tokyo.
Hakone – Owakudani Valley
One of the most popular sightseeing spots in Hakone. There are exploded craters, which were formed by the last phreatic eruption of Hakone Volcano about 3,000 years ago, and activer sulfur and hot stream vents. White smoke envelops the desolate ground to this day, and you can feel the intensity of a active volcano. This place is also a popular viewing spot for Mt. Fuji.
Hakone – Jinja Shrine
Hakone Jinja Shrine is famous for its Shinto shrine archway of Peace, which was founded in its current location in 757 based on a revelation of the priest Mangan. Manga was famous priest who trained in strict ascetic practices and pacified the nen-headed dragon that lived at the bootm of Lake Ashi, and history is still handed down to people today.
Hakone – Check Point
Tokugawa shogun placed 53 sekisy (facility of inspection) on major roads across the nation to defend Edo (current Tokyo). Hakone Sekisho was one of the largest and was thought to be important among them. Hakone Sekisyo was placed on the current location in 1619, during an early period of Edo Era. One of the main roles of sekisho was to control “incoming guns and outgoing women”, which means to prevent wapons from being brought into Edo and wives and children of feudal lords from fleeing from Edo. However, Hakone Sekisho did not inspect “incoming guns” andseverely inspected “outgoing women”. Sekisho which operatef for about 260 years furing Edo Era, was dissoloved in the next years of 1868, when government changed.

Great way to see Hakone and all its hidden gems. Our guide Sho was very nice and very helpful in navigating and ensuring we had the best experience. We went on the ropeway, owakudani valley, saw Mount Fuji, pirate ship across lake ashi, hakone checkpoint, cedar stree and hakone shrine.
