    Tour Itinerary

    • 9:00-9:45 Nagoya Castle – 10:45 – 11:30 Osu Kannon – 13:30 Osu Kannon Shopping Arcade (including lunch)

Title: What Is a Private Nagoya Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nagoya Castle and Osu The guests were friendly and easy to talk with, and the conversation flowed well. The group moved mainly using a stroller. They were especially interested in Nagoya Castle, listening attentively, and showed particular curiosity about how Japanese culture differs from what they were used to, along with its long history and the historical role of the shogun. There was a fair amount of walking involved during the day. Since the group preferred not to visit Atsuta Shrine and wanted to relax at the Osu shopping arcade instead, we headed to Osu Kannon after Nagoya Castle. We first visited the temple and then strolled leisurely through the arcade. As the group wanted to eat sushi, we stopped at a sushi restaurant, and they seemed refreshed afterward. They then wished to do some shopping on their own and return to the cruise ship early, so we parted ways.

Hey there, I’m Masami Maeda, and I’m all about guiding you through some incredible adventures! Teaching English at high school was cool and all, but I craved something more exciting. That’s when I discovered my love for guiding.
Traveling is my jam. I’ve spent years soaking up the vibes in the US and the UK. In fact, I even did a stint at Warwick University, where I got totally hooked on Drama and Theatre Education. It was like stepping into a whole new world!
When I’m not busy showing folks around, you’ll find me doing all sorts of things. Ballet classes? Yep, I’m there. And I’m a huge fan of Japanese rakugo – both watching and performing. It’s a blast!
My style of guiding? Think of it as a mix of storytelling and cultural immersion. I want you to feel like you’re really part of the places we visit, not just an onlooker. Let’s dive deep into the heart of each destination and uncover the hidden gems together.
So, if you’re up for an adventure filled with laughter, learning, and maybe a few surprises along the way, then I’m your guide! Let’s make some unforgettable memories together!

What Is a Private Kyoto Tour Like on an Extremely Hot Summer Day? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour began with a meeting at the Hotel. Before departure, I informed the guests that the temperature was expected to reach 38°C that day and asked them to take great care of their health, and then we started the tour. Since it was the first time I would be guiding in temperatures exceeding body heat, I made sure to stay cautious myself. The group had originally been scheduled with more participants, but one of them was unable to join due to feeling unwell. Some of the guests enjoyed jokes but had little interest in shrines and temples, and given the heat, mainly wanted to go somewhere cool. As some of the group had shown a bit of interest in Japanese culture and had specifically requested Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari, I felt sorry that these plans had to be adjusted. After visiting Kiyomizu-dera, the group requested to have lunch somewhere cool, so we moved to Kyoto Station by taxi. I guided them to a place for lunch, and the tour concluded at 14:10.

What's a Private Day Tour of Tokyo Like for a Family from Europe? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group visiting from Europe on a private day tour of Tokyo. I was worried about the overwhelming heat and humidity, but the guests were energetic and we finished safely while staying hydrated, which was a relief. First, at the initial station, we purchased PASMO cards for two of the guests. At Ameyoko they enjoyed fruit stick candy, and at a confectionery shop they bought Japanese sweets such as gummies. We issued the JR Pass at the Asakusa exit of Ueno Station. When I took them to Akihabara, it turned out they were not particularly interested in anime, so we wrapped up early and, at their request, added Shibuya Crossing. They loved the solemn atmosphere of Meiji Shrine. When I explained omikuji fortunes, all of them drew one and carefully read the advice. At a shop in Meiji Shrine, they bought small, cute lucky cat figurines. On Takeshita Street I introduced a sock specialty shop, and since one of the guests liked socks, they bought three pairs. Since different things appeal to different guests, I realized it is worth introducing all kinds of things. They told me they enjoyed the tour, and we parted ways.

    • (Guest was late) 9:20 Meet in front of Kinkaku-ji entrance 9:25 Kinkaku-ji 10:10 (Joined by the second son who arrived late) 10:20 Ryoan-ji 11:15 Ninna-ji
    • 12:10 Lunch at a ramen shop near Kitano Tenmangu 12:50 After lunch, the guests headed to the hotel by taxi.

Title: Can You Do a Private Kyoto Temple Tour by Taxi? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, and Ninna-ji The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. Some of the group had visited Japan about eight years earlier and had also been to Kyoto before. The plan was to meet at Kinkaku-ji at 9:00, but due to circumstances at the Hotel where taxis could not easily enter or exit, the guests had trouble catching a taxi and arrived about 20 minutes late. The temperature that day reached close to 37 degrees Celsius, and since the three planned destinations (Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, and Ninna-ji) were located close together, we decided after discussion to travel by taxi. The guests covered all the taxi fares (which ended up being cheaper than the bus fare). At Ninna-ji, because of the heat, we limited our visit to the interior of the Omuro Garden buildings and did not walk around the temple grounds. Originally, I had heard from the guests that they wanted to visit Otagi Nenbutsu-ji after Ninna-ji, so I had planned to travel to Arashiyama. However, this was a misunderstanding, as the guests had already visited it the previous day. As it was lunchtime, we decided to have lunch and took a taxi to a ramen restaurant near Kitano Tenmangu. After that, the guests returned to the Hotel by taxi, ending the tour. The photo was taken at Ninna-ji. I felt it was a little unfortunate about Ninna-ji, but there was little shade and the weather was not something I could recommend for a full walk.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

What Is a Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, and Akihabara The guests were a group from North America visiting Japan for the first time. They planned to go to Kyoto after sightseeing in Tokyo. At Meiji Shrine, the guests listened with great interest to the explanation about the difference between shrines and temples, and seemed impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. On Takeshita Street, some of the guests showed interest in the accessory shops and animal cafes. They enjoyed sushi for lunch. At the Imperial Palace, the guests listened with interest to the historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo Shogunate. In Akihabara, some of the guests showed interest in the anime shops. Since I responded according to the guests' wishes, I believe they were satisfied.

What's a Private Osaka Day Tour Like with a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report Today I guided a group visiting from North America. Since the group included several members, I paid close attention to make sure no one got lost. First, we passed through the Umeda underground area and moved from Osaka Station to Higashi-Umeda, then headed to Osaka Castle. It was a little more crowded than the previous week, but we still managed to look around at a relaxed pace. As it was hot, the guests took a break and enjoyed ice cream at Miraiza. After that, we took the subway to Kuromon Market. We had originally planned to visit Shinsekai before going to Kuromon Market, but there was not enough time, so we visited only Kuromon Market. I believe everyone enjoyed themselves in their own way.

Title: What Is a Private Full-Day Tokyo Tour Like for a Group? A Licensed Guide's Report This was a tour confirmed on July 1, two days before the tour date. Given the short lead time, I was a little concerned about whether I would be able to communicate sufficiently with the guests, but the representative of the group contacted me early so I could hear the details, and on the day everyone arrived early at the meeting point in the hotel lobby. From the advance emails, I had learned that the itinerary should be kept short, so I took care to shorten the course. Nezu Shrine was among the requested spots, but I limited the guiding to the East Gardens and Sensoji Temple. Even at the East Gardens, I did not go into the main keep area and focused the guiding mainly on the Ninomaru Garden. At the final stop, Shibuya Station, some had trouble getting the Suica to respond properly, so it took time to exit the station, but despite the heat I was able to safely see the group to the hotel.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

Hakone Customized Private Tour in 1 Day

    Tour Itinerary

    • 10:10 Meet. From Gora Station by train at 10:40. Hakone Open-Air Museum. After eating breakfast substitute meal at convenience store, 11:40 Hakone Open-Air Museum. After strolling, train from Hakone Open-Air Museum at 13:46. Cable car from Gora. Ropeway from Sounzan. There was an announcement about the possibility of the ropeway being suspended due to a thunder warning. Went almost directly to Togendai. 15:10 pirate ship. 15:35 disembark at Hakonemachi Port. After a light meal, Maruyama Bussan. After the presentation, shopping.
    • 16:46 by bus from Sekisho-ato. 17:35 Hakone-Yumoto. Got off and dispersed at Onsenba-iriguchi. The customer said they would move to a hotel near Haneda tonight and return home tomorrow.

What Is a Private Day Trip to Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Open-Air Museum, Ropeway, and Lake Ashi As it was the final day of the group's trip to Japan, I planned the tour so they could return home feeling satisfied. At the Hakone Open-Air Museum, some of the guests became completely absorbed in the jungle gym, and the group had a hard time getting them to move on. They also thoroughly enjoyed the foot bath. Since the ropeway looked likely to be suspended due to a thunderstorm warning, we kept it brief, but the group cheered at the natural scenery. On the pirate ship, everyone went up to the top deck, and I was a little worried someone might get lost. The presentation at the local shop was met with applause and cheers of delight. The guests bought a variety of souvenirs. Although the tour ran to seven and a half hours, we carried it out with almost no wasted time and had a pleasant day. In the photo, a building happens to appear in the background simply because it was near the bus stop; the actual accommodation was a Hotel.

I am Hiroki Morikawa :Hiro:, English guide living with my wife ,just a hop skip and jump from Hakone, Kamakura, Tokyo and the Mt. Fuji.
I am a friendly grandfather of 4 grandchildren.
I would love to help you enjoy Japan, using my 3 strong points.
First: I am used to dealing with any kind of matters. I have experienced various situations in the 40 years of my working life.
Second: I am good at making a friendly atmosphere between you and local people to help you enjoy Japan. I was raised in western Japan, studied in northern Japan and now live in central Japan. So I know various local cultures and dialects to communicate with a wide variety of people.
Third: I can explain things from a technical point of view.
For example, how the Great Buddha was constructed, because I am a master of engineering graduated from Hokkaido University.
Please enjoy Japan with me. See you soon!!

Title: What's a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. Since they wanted to make the most of their sightseeing time, they used a high-speed boat from Ujina Port to Miyajima and from Miyajima Port to the Peace Memorial Park, and took a taxi from the Peace Memorial Park to the cruise terminal. For lunch on Miyajima, they avoided restaurants that would take a long time and instead bought and enjoyed items such as fried oysters from food stalls and vendors. The day was extremely hot, so throughout the tour we made sure to stay well hydrated, and outdoor guiding was always done in the shade, which allowed the tour to proceed without any problems. The guests appeared to be very satisfied.

Hi! My name is Kazuhisa To. After completing graduate school, I moved to Hiroshima—and have now lived here for over 42 years. I earned a Ph.D. through a national university’s professional program while working at Mazda Motor Corporation. Five years before retiring from the company, I was seconded to Hiroshima University, a national university, where I served as a specially appointed professor. In addition to my domestic career, I spent a total of about five and a half years living and working abroad. These international experiences have given me valuable cross-cultural understanding and the ability to connect comfortably with guests from around the world. Currently, as a Hiroshima Prefectural Government Licensed Guide Interpreter, I introduce visitors not only to famous attractions such as Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima, but also to the local lifestyle, culture, and culinary delights, tailored to your interests. I hope to provide each guest with a memorable experience that stays in your heart.
I look forward to meeting you here in Hiroshima!
