What's a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shinjuku, Harajuku, Asakusa, and Akihabara The guests were visitors from North America who spoke English very well. As requested, we walked mainly around Shinjuku, Harajuku, Asakusa, and Akihabara. We took photos at the observation deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and at Meiji Shrine the guests asked many questions. In Asakusa they enjoyed a tonkatsu lunch, bought souvenirs such as charms and incense, and tried a matcha drink they had found on social media. In Akihabara they took their time looking at watches and eyeglasses, and I believe they enjoyed the day. Since they planned to head back to Shibuya at the end, we said goodbye at Akihabara Station. They were lovely to be with, and I truly enjoyed guiding them.

Hello! I am Kyoko who has been working as a guide since 2017. I was born in Kyoto. So, my name comes from Kyoto which is Japan’s beautiful ancient capital . And “ko” literally means child in Japanese. Thus, my name Kyoko means Kyoto’s child, Kyoko. But some guests call me Kyoto. It’s okay, not a big problem.
But to say the truth, I feel like this, ” Am I like an ancient person? No way~!!…” I am mainly guiding in and around Tokyo. Tokyo has two faces of well-advanced and old-fashioned. So, you can enjoy both high-tech technology and historical culture plus delicious food and drinks, too. You will surely be inspired in this city with me. Anyway, looking forward to meeting you in the near future. Thank you in advance!

What Can You See on a Private Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Ueno, and Asakusa The guests were a group visiting from North America who had just arrived in Japan the day before. At Tsukiji Outer Market, they enjoyed seeing the wide variety of seafood, wagyu beef, and sweets on sale, along with the many people eating there. They purchased tea-flavored and wasabi-flavored beans. One of the guests said they wanted to return to Tsukiji again. We visited Ueno Toshogu Shrine in Ueno Park, where they remarked on the beauty of the five-story pagoda. We then walked along Kappabashi Street, and since they wanted to try monjayaki, we went to a monjayaki restaurant where they enjoyed monjayaki, okonomiyaki, and more. The way to eat monjayaki was a little tricky, but they said it was delicious. Since they wished to explore Senso-ji Temple on their own, I took them to Kaminarimon Gate, explained how to get back, and said goodbye. They were a truly wonderful group.

Title: What Is a Private 8-Hour Hiroshima Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe, and Hiroshima was their first sightseeing destination after arriving in Japan. The temperature was considerably higher than in their home region, so to guard against heat exhaustion I adjusted my usual approach and gave explanations that are normally delivered in front of the sightseeing spots indoors in air-conditioned spaces instead. Thanks to these heat countermeasures, we completed the 8-hour tour safely. Since the guests came from Europe, they showed great interest in the Denmark-related bakery "Hiroshima Andersen," and they kindly taught me a great deal about Denmark and Andersen. I am grateful to the guests. At the end, I took them to the main branch of "Hiroshima Andersen," which was originally an atomic-bombed building, and we parted ways there.

Hi! My name is Kazuhisa To. After completing graduate school, I moved to Hiroshima—and have now lived here for over 42 years. I earned a Ph.D. through a national university’s professional program while working at Mazda Motor Corporation. Five years before retiring from the company, I was seconded to Hiroshima University, a national university, where I served as a specially appointed professor. In addition to my domestic career, I spent a total of about five and a half years living and working abroad. These international experiences have given me valuable cross-cultural understanding and the ability to connect comfortably with guests from around the world. Currently, as a Hiroshima Prefectural Government Licensed Guide Interpreter, I introduce visitors not only to famous attractions such as Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima, but also to the local lifestyle, culture, and culinary delights, tailored to your interests. I hope to provide each guest with a memorable experience that stays in your heart.
I look forward to meeting you here in Hiroshima!

Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Cruise Shore Excursion Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests visited Japan from Europe as part of a cruise. The day was clear and extremely hot, but the guests were in good spirits and fully enjoyed the tour. On this occasion, I guided them through Shukkeien Garden and the Peace Memorial Park. Although it was not the flower season, the guests seemed to enjoy the scenery of Shukkeien Garden. At the Peace Memorial Park, there were moments during my explanations and while visiting the museum when the guests became tearful, and it was clear that they were deeply moved and saddened when confronted with the tragedy that Hiroshima had experienced. Throughout the entire tour, the guests appeared very satisfied.

What Is a Private Miyajima Walking Tour Like from a Cruise Ship? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were friends visiting from North America. We had planned to meet at the Miyajima ferry pier, but since I heard they were arriving by cruise ship, I went to meet them at the port, and they told me it was very helpful because they were not sure how to get to Miyajima. Although it was a very hot day, the guests were deeply impressed by the scenery of Miyajima and the deer, and they enjoyed taking many photos. Since Daishoin Temple involves an uphill path, I first guided them to the 500 Rakan statues near the entrance and then asked about their preferences. One of the guests preferred not to climb and wanted to relax, so I showed them to a cafe, while the other wished to go all the way up, so I accompanied that person to the Henjokutsu Cave at the top. The guests mentioned they love souvenir shops, and since they planned to have lunch later on the ship, they wanted to spend more time exploring the shopping street. After they enjoyed a leisurely time shopping, we returned to Ujina by high-speed ferry, and I saw them off at the cruise ship, ending the tour.

What Is a Private Afternoon Tour of Kanazawa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They were taking part in a group tour traveling around Japan, but since they had a free afternoon in Kanazawa, they joined a private tour. As I had heard they signed up hoping for insights that only a local guide could offer, I tried to explain a wide range of topics and connect them to one another. They had already visited Shima in the Higashi Chaya District and Kenrokuen on their group tour, but since we had a little time before the Myoryuji Temple tour, I explained the rooms at the Nishi Chaya Museum in the Nishi Chaya District, which they were delighted by.

What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Yanaka Ginza, and Meiji Shrine The guests were visitors from North America. After discussing carefully in advance and taking into account the places they planned to visit on other days, we visited Asakusa, Yanaka Ginza, and Meiji Shrine. They were very pleased with the goshuincho (temple seal book) they purchased at a shop I recommended in Asakusa, and they were delighted to receive seals at Senso-ji and Meiji Shrine. For lunch, they said they wanted somewhere the locals go, so we went to a soba restaurant. They loved the oroshi soba and tempura soba they tried for the first time, and were amazed by the great value for money. During the tour, one of the guests mentioned they wanted some Japanese incense that an acquaintance had once given them long ago. The exact brand name was unclear, but I managed to track it down and finally guided them to Aoyama, where the only shop in Tokyo is located, which made them very happy as well. I was pleased to hear the words, "I felt so relaxed being with you."

What Is a Private Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shibuya, Meiji Shrine, and Asakusa The guests were a group from Europe visiting Japan for the first time. Before coming to Tokyo, they had already visited Kyoto and Hiroshima, and had traveled from Kyoto to Tokyo this morning. In Tokyo, in addition to sightseeing, they planned to watch the World Athletics Championships at the National Stadium. At Shibuya, because it was a public holiday, many people had gathered at the Scramble Crossing, and the guests showed great interest in the lively atmosphere. At Meiji Shrine, the guests seemed impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. At Shinjuku Gyoen, the guests appeared impressed by the beautiful Japanese garden. At the Imperial Palace, the guests listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo shogunate. At Senso-ji Temple, the guests listened with interest to explanations about the difference between temples and shrines, as well as the Kaminarimon Gate. I responded to the guests' requests as they wished, so I believe they were satisfied. Regarding the accommodation, the guide request (confirmation) email listed the Hotel, but when I checked at the Hotel on the day, the guests' reservation was not found. After confirming again by phone with the guests, I learned that a different Hotel was the correct one, and we had to relocate. Since both the car and the guide had arrived at the originally scheduled Hotel more than 30 minutes early, we were able to start on time; however, under normal circumstances the start would have been delayed. I keenly realized that when there is a Hotel with a similar name nearby, it is necessary to reconfirm with the guests.

I am Seizo Kamiuto, National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (English). I was born in Kagoshima City in Kyushu (Southern part of Japan) and grew up there until the graduation from a high school. I came to Tokyo to enter a University in Tokyo and since then, I have lived in Tokyo for more than 40 years and therefore I know Tokyo and its suburbs and Kagoshima City very well. After retiring from an IT company, I have been working as a Guide Interpreter of English since March 2018. I have guided many overseas guests to the popular sightseeing spots in Tokyo, Kamakura, Mt. Fuji area (Kawaguchiko Lake etc.), Hakone, Nikko, Yokohama, Kawagoe and Kagoshima and so on. I have received good reviews from many guests. I can explain the history and the culture of Japan in detail. I look forward to an opportunity to guide you in Japan. Thank you. Seizo Kamiuto

Title: What Can You See on a First-Day Private Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report This was the first day of a first-visit private tour of Tokyo for guests from North America. Since the guests would be in Japan for about a week, we started by purchasing PASMO cards at a subway station. Because they wished to get an overview of Tokyo first, we went to Tokyo Tower. Unfortunately it was cloudy, so Mount Fuji was not visible, but on the souvenir floor the guests purchased items such as sake cups featuring Japanese designs. After strolling along Takeshita Street in Harajuku, one of the guests had vegan ramen while the rest of us had tonkotsu ramen, and then we headed to the Nike store in Omotesando. The guests enjoyed themselves mainly through shopping.

    Nagoya Customized Half-Day Tour

    Tour Itinerary

    • 1.Meeting point: Nagoya Port, Garden Pier, 8:30
    • 2. : Nagoya Castle, Honmaru Palace, around the castle keep, Nishinomaru Ozone Storehouse Museum, 9:10-11:00
    • 3. : Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER, observation deck, 11:30-11:50
    • 4. : Osu Shopping District, 12:05-12:45
    • 5.Dispersal: Kamimaezu Station platform, 13:00
    • The guests were a married couple living in Washington D.C. In our prior email exchanges, I had informed them that the day's high temperature was a concern, so we started the outdoor activities a little earlier. We met taking into account Nagoya Castle's opening time. It was fortunate that the cruise ship's arrival time was as early as 6:30.
    • At Nagoya Castle, the wait to enter Honmaru Palace was not very long, and we were also able to quickly enter Kuroki Shoin and Yudono Shoin, which are handled for small groups at a separate entrance. They were able to understand the power of the Tokugawa family at the time, the high rank of the shogun, and so on. They also sensed the castle's role as a fortress from the height of the walls, the masugata gates, and the depth of the moat.
    • We moved to Sakae by city bus, and looking down over Nagoya City from the Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER observation deck, they remarked that they were impressed by how beautiful and safe Japanese cities are. In the course of talking about the width of the roads, I learned that they themselves own a Toyota vehicle.
    • We moved to Osu by subway, where the plan was to have lunch if there was a shop they liked. The wife showed interest in matcha soft-serve ice cream, and after she ate it, since they could have lunch aboard the cruise ship, I informed them of the direct subway at Kamimaezu Station, and we dispersed on the platform

Hello, I’m Takaaki Nagase, a national licensed tour guide. This is a greeting to the foreign tourists going to explore Japan. I don’t have a long career of attendant, but I know well about Chukyo Area. It consists of urban cities like Nagoya and mountainous region in Gifu. When you come to Japan, you can’t miss this area. Would you come and experience this area on your way to Kyoto from Tokyo. In the urban area, I will recommend Nagoya taste restaurants and national treasures like “Inuyama Castle”. In the country side, I will give you a chance to relax in the exquisite sound of the creek.
I’m sure I can take you to the impressive part of Japan.
