Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji and Meiji Shrine The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They had arrived in Japan the day before, and after Tokyo they planned to visit Kanazawa, Kyoto, and other destinations during a stay of about two weeks. The original plan for the day was to have their JR tickets for the rest of their itinerary issued at JR Shinjuku Station, and then to visit Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya. After meeting at the hotel and arriving at the JR East Travel Service Center (East Exit) at JR Shinjuku Station, it turned out that the guests had left the voucher needed to issue the tickets back at the hotel. We returned to the hotel once by taxi to pick up the voucher, and then went back to the JR East Travel Service Center (East Exit) at JR Shinjuku Station again. Partly because this counter was crowded, it was around 11:30 by the time we finished issuing the JR tickets and purchasing the Welcome Suica cards. The guests felt that forgetting the voucher was their own responsibility and did not express any particular complaint, but I reflected that I should have checked the voucher and other documents at the time we met. At Tsukiji, we had sushi for lunch, and the guests were delighted, saying it was very delicious. Afterwards, while we were touring Meiji Shrine, they said, as mentioned earlier, that they would like to head back to the hotel after this. I confirmed that it would be no problem to end the tour a little early without going to Shibuya, so we returned to the hotel and parted ways there. Although we had spent extra time on the ticket issuance at JR Shinjuku Station and the tour ended early, the guests seemed satisfied with the tour and kindly gave me a tip at the end. Also, at the guests' request, all transportation today was by taxi, so there were no transportation expenses.

What Is a Private Tour of Rural Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were repeat visitors who had come to Japan several times and were fond of the country. However, they had rarely been outside the so-called Golden Route, and were looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere of Japan's regional and rural areas. None of the destinations were crowded with tourists, and the guests were very pleased with this. They were also delighted when I introduced the mythological stories unique to this region, and felt satisfied that they had touched the origins of Japanese culture. In addition, the guests had visited the Adachi Museum of Art the previous day and had been deeply impressed by it, and I was reminded once again that this region offers a great deal of material to satisfy people with such diverse interests.

I started as a volunteer guide for foreign tourists at Matsue Castle in Shimane Prefecture when I was in my 40s, and after retiring at the age of 60, I became a certified interpreter guide and expanded the scope of my activities to include all of Shimane Prefecture, as well as Tottori and Hiroshima Prefectures.
I was born and raised in Matsue City in western Japan. Matsue is a medium-sized city and the capital of Shimane Prefecture. It is a quiet town that retains the old atmosphere with Matsue Castle, which was built over 400 years ago, and is known for its culture of drinking matcha green tea frequently. I would like to share with you the charm of a regional city like Matsue. Near Matsue, there is a shrine called Izumo Grand Shrine, one of the largest, oldest and most venerated shrines in Japan. The origin of this shrine is written in the Japanese myths, and its precincts are very mysterious. Shimane Prefecture and the neighboring prefecture of Tottori were the setting of Japanese mythology and have well preserved Japan’s historical heritage and traditions. Shimane and Tottori prefectures are not on the so-called “golden route” frequented by foreign tourists, but I hope they will be included in your sightseeing route because they are full of Japan’s unique charm. From its beginnings to the present day, Japan has weaved a long history without being dominated by any other country or, conversely, without advocating hegemony over neighboring countries – although, unfortunately, it did invade Asian countries for a period of time in the 20th century. It is my great pleasure to introduce you to a part of Japan’s culture, which is diverse and peaceful. I am also a guide in Hiroshima Prefecture, the southern neighbor of Shimane Prefecture. I mainly guide visitors to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where I try to convey the tragic event of the atomic bombing based on the testimonies of those who suffered as much as possible. It is a place that you should definitely visit at least once.
Furthermore, I hope to convey the Japanese way of thinking and lifestyle through various conversations during the guided tour. This is also one of my joys.
I myself often travel, and I always make sure to have a guide with me. This is because the quality of the trip is greatly enhanced by the guide’s explanations. I also make an effort to make travelers feel that way. Enjoy your trip!

What's a Private History-Focused Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a cheerful group visiting from North America. It was a fun tour to guide. We had exchanged messages nearly ten times by email and messaging app before the day, so both the itinerary and the meeting point (not at a hotel) went smoothly. Having watched "Shogun" and "The Last Samurai" several times, the guests were very interested in history, politics, and culture. I deliberately arranged an itinerary focused on the Tokugawa shoguns, and as a result they were very pleased. On the other hand, even though it was late September, it was a hot day for the tour, and the cooling sweat-wiping sheets I prepared for the extreme heat were greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Japan. I hope you are going to enjoy your stay.

    Who am I?
I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.
I hope I can attend to you with the Japanese politeness, hospitality and smile.

    What can I be expected?
I would like to introduce the photogenic sites, the indigenous experiences
and good Japanese local food around Tokyo, Hakone/Mt Fuji.
I might be able to show you the features of shrine and temple with a religious manner if you’d like.
As a matter of fact, I don’t have a specific religion to believe, though.
I love Japan and that’s why I started a new career as a guide.

    What do I love?
Most of all, my family. I have a wife 56 yrs old, a son 28 yrs old and a daughter 25 yrs old.
I like eating raw fish and sushi, buckwheat noodles and curry rice.

How do I spend my spear time?
I run for 5 km in the morning listening to my favorite music.
I might have a chance to go to a studio program in the fitness club nearby once a week.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
    Thank you.

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, on their first trip to Japan. They had traveled from Tokyo to Hida-Takayama and had arrived in Kyoto the day before. Initially they gave me a long list of places they wished to visit, so I built an itinerary mixing famous highlights with quiet, calm spots where I could explain Japanese cultural elements at a relaxed pace, and guided them accordingly. They were very interested in Japanese history and culture and listened intently to all of my explanations, so much so that I feel I talked so much today that my head was completely emptied. They were wonderful listeners. As an extra, at a tea shop (a matcha café) within the grounds of Daitoku-ji Temple, we enjoyed a set of matcha and three kinds of wagashi in place of lunch. While whisking the tea ourselves, I explained the etiquette of the tea ceremony and the world of wabi-cha, talked about Japanese cuisine, Japan as a country of longevity, and even discussed politics abroad. They were a truly delightful group to talk with.

Hello, this is Kazu Akiyama, your tour guide. Nice to meet you and welcome to Japan. Thank you for joining me on the tour. Now I am a retired salaried worker, living in Osaka. I have been very much interested in not only learning Japanese history, culture, religion myself, but also talking about them (sometimes going off topics) in English with tourists from all over the world as well. I am so excited being with you as your guide on coming day! I am very much looking forward to you enjoying with me visiting the must-see places and some of the hidden gems. See you soon. What Is a Private One-Day Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Ueno Park, and Yanaka The guests were visitors from North America, and this was the first day of about a week-long tour of Japan. They arrived in Tokyo this morning from a major city in Oceania, and since they could not yet check in at their hotel, they left their luggage there and we began the tour. They had originally expressed a wish to slowly explore places connected to Japanese history and culture on foot, so we first headed to Asakusa. Having gone straight to the hotel after arriving at the Tokyo airport, they had not yet eaten breakfast, so we took in a view of Asakusa from the observation deck of the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center, where I gave an explanation of its history and culture, and then went for lunch. The guests enjoyed a leisurely stroll through Ueno Park and the Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi area, and the tour came to a close.

What's a Private Tokyo and Mount Fuji Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They mentioned that they had work plans in the Tokyo area the following week, and that this trip would focus only on sightseeing in Tokyo and at Mount Fuji, without visiting places such as Kyoto. At Meiji Shrine, they appeared impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. One of the guests purchased a lucky charm as a souvenir. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo shogunate. At Senso-ji Temple, they listened with interest to explanations about the difference between temples and shrines, as well as about Kaminarimon Gate. Since I accommodated the guests' wishes throughout, I believe they were satisfied.

What's a Private Day Tour of Himeji Castle Like from Osaka? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were visitors from the Middle East. It was their second visit to Japan. They came from Osaka today and planned to return to Osaka after the tour. We met in front of the central ticket gate at Himeji Station, then visited Castle View (an overview explanation of Himeji Castle) and the Shinki Bus Center (where we purchased discounted round-trip tickets for the bus and ropeway between Himeji Station and Mount Shosha Ropeway), and then walked to Himeji Castle. After sightseeing at Himeji Castle, we took a break at a teahouse near Koko-en Garden. Here the guests mentioned that they wanted to stop in Kobe on the way back to Osaka to eat Kobe beef. So I introduced a restaurant in Kobe, and the guests made a reservation there. After the break, we visited Koko-en Garden, Engyo-ji Temple on Mount Shosha, and then Himeji Station, ending the tour on the special rapid platform (bound for Kobe) at Himeji Station. When I asked the guests for their impressions of the tour, they said it was great.

One of the guests spoke Japanese very well, so I was able to communicate in Japanese with that person, and in English with the rest of the group. It was one of the most enjoyable tours I have had. What's a Private Kyoto Family Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. That region is a place I have visited many times, so in the morning we found ourselves chatting more about their home region than about Kyoto. Gradually, the conversation turned to Kyoto. The morning tour took place under a light drizzle, but by the afternoon the weather cleared up completely, and we enjoyed a pleasant tour with a gentle breeze. We had planned to visit the bamboo grove, but things did not go entirely as scheduled, so we parted ways at the entrance to the bamboo grove.

Title: What Do Guests Ask a Licensed Guide on a Private Tokyo Tour? A Guide's Report Below are some of the questions and topics the guests brought up during a private tour in Tokyo. 1. Are the Japanese a nuclear family? 2. Someone in the group shared that household chores like cooking and laundry are shared at home. 3. It's so clean. Crime rates are low in Japan. Oh, are they increasing? I don't see many policemen. In North America there are also scams. 4. North America feels divided between regions now. 5. What do Japanese think about Trump? He is too extreme. 6. Are cars electric? I don't see many power stations or gas stations. Tesla is more popular. 7. It was 5 o'clock. The group used a taxi to Toyosu for the tuna lottery yesterday. 8. Some of the guests talked about their work, describing legal matters such as injuries and traffic accidents and how fault is assigned, rather than criminal cases, and how remote work became common after Covid-19. 9. The group mentioned speaking several languages and coming from a diverse, multicultural community with many immigrants. 10. Japan relaxes immigration laws and brings in migrants from Asia to make up for manpower shortages. 11. What's the retirement age in Japan? 12. The group mentioned that some relatives plan to visit Japan in February for skiing, and said they would share information about the guide with others seeking these services.

Hello, welcome to Japan you all.

I’m a resident of Ebina, Kanagawa, and am a national government licensed guide and interpreter.
I enjoy showing travelers both the new and old of central Honshu, primarily Tokyo and Kanagawa, ranging from Meiji Shrine, Edo Castle, Tsukiji Outer Market, Ueno, Asakusa, Ginza, Ginza Sky Farmstead, Shibuya Zebra Crossings, Yokohama, Kamakura, to Hakone, not to mention Mt. Fuji, and sharing views with my guests on Japanese homes and their surroundings, Japan’s labor productivity and labor market, among others.

I also enjoy introducing travelers to Japanese culture through home visits with Japanese families, touring Zen temples, and explaining the intricacies of Japanese culture.

I am happy to arrange personalized tours to other places of your interest.
I am making the most of my long experience as a foreign language education service, escorting VIPs at the Sony showroom in Ginza, Tokyo.
I also offer services to help families and individuals relocating to Japan with immigration VISA applications.

My hobbies are movies, strolling along the river in my neighborhood and am a novice at la lingua Italiano.
Let’s enjoy touring together, shall we?
