What Can You See on an 8-Hour Private Kyoto Tour by Taxi? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from Europe. Because they wanted to visit as many spots as possible within 8 hours, they offered that we could use taxis for getting around the city, so we visited the popular spots mentioned above. The weather was not too hot, and since they walked relatively quickly, the tour progressed efficiently. They did not buy souvenirs or stop for lunch, simply focusing on enjoying the sightseeing. By the time the tour ended, I was the one who was completely worn out.

  • Tokyo in 1 Day from Yokohama: Private Tour

Tokyo in 1 Day from Yokohama: Private Tour

    Tour Itinerary

    • Guests disembarked around 08:10, walked to Bashamichi Station and headed to Shibuya, arriving around 10:30. After seeing the Scramble Crossing and Hachiko, took the Hachiko Bus to Meiji Shrine, arriving at 11:10. Rented a wheelchair for the guest who uses a walker and toured the shrine. Around 12:50, went to Asakusa via Takeshita Street, arriving at 13:30, and after lunch visited Senso-ji Temple. Around 15:30, took a taxi to Nijubashimae, arriving at 16:00, strolled around the Imperial Palace Outer Gardens, then around 16:40 headed to Yokohama from Sakuradamon Station, arriving at Bashamichi Station around 17:30. Since the guest said they would take a taxi from Bashamichi Station back to the ship, saw them off at the station and concluded the escort duties. As expected, travel took a lot of time, so we had no choice but to skip Tsukiji Market and Koishikawa Korakuen Garden. The guest understood that the number of sightseeing spots was small, saying the original plan was a "wish list."

Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Sightseeing Tour Using Public Transport Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Tokyo. According to the advance information provided, one member of the group could walk with support but not for long distances, and going up and down stairs many times was not feasible. Because walking pace was slow and finding elevators at subway stations took extra effort, moving between locations required more time than expected. Even so, everyone made their way through the itinerary without complaint, and although they may have gotten tired, I believe they were able to see as much as possible within the given constraints. I think it should be communicated in advance that sightseeing in Tokyo using public transportation requires a fair amount of walking.

I have worked as a diplomat for 48 years until last year(2024), so I think I am good at explaining anything about Japan in English. Though I’m a novice as tour guide, l promise that I will make detailed and thorough preparations for guiding you and to make your trip smooth and enjoyable. I myself like to experience various means of transportation and interested in local culture, history and food. You may be a bit concerned about my age(71 years old), but I am quite fit for work. Just to prove this I wish to say that I played 5 rounds of golf this summer month of August, 2025.

What Is a Private Nikko Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Toshogu, Rinnoji, and a Local Ramen Lunch The guests were visitors from North America, and this was their second time in Japan. Thanks to their calm and cheerful nature, I too was able to relax and speak slowly, and we spent the entire day in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Because the guests had stayed at a hotel from the previous night, we were able to start early. This allowed us to visit the Shinkyo Bridge, Shoyoen Garden, and Rinnoji Temple in a quiet atmosphere before the crowds arrived. Toshogu Shrine was also not yet very crowded, so we were able to move around smoothly. The autumn leaves had just begun to turn, and the guests enjoyed the early signs of fall. The restaurants where I had planned to have lunch were crowded and we could not get in, but since the guests liked ramen, I decided to take the bus back toward the station area to visit a popular ramen shop. That shop was crowded too, but we managed to get seats at just the right time. The guests liked miso ramen, and since miso ramen is also the shop's specialty, it matched their preference perfectly. Because the guests were staying in Nikko and we were able to start early, we could enjoy the day at a relaxed pace, making it a wonderful day. The guests were very pleased as well.

What's a Private Day Tour Near Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Everyone was able to move smoothly throughout the day. The weather was good today, and the guests thoroughly enjoyed visiting each spot. I received many detailed and thoughtful questions, which showed a high level of interest. For some reason, there were few visitors at each spot today, so we were able to move around very smoothly. After the tour, the guests planned to return to Osaka, and since they were a little hungry and wished to have lunch before that, I introduced a restaurant in the local shopping district, and we parted ways with about 30 minutes remaining.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.

What's a Private Day Tour of Tokyo's Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, Shibuya, and Golden Gai Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. They had also visited Japan the previous year and wanted to go to Meiji Shrine, Takeshita Street, Shibuya, and Golden Gai, which they had not been able to visit last time. They were very energetic, choosing to take the stairs even when escalators were available. They said Meiji Shrine was very beautiful. They had been asked to pick up some cosmetics, so we went to a cosmetics store in Harajuku, where they did quite a lot of shopping, and then headed to Takeshita Street. They said the ramen we had for lunch was delicious. In Shibuya, we went to the crossing, and since they wanted to visit the Disney Store, we went there as well, and finally we visited Shinjuku Golden Gai before returning to the Hotel. I had been worried about a typhoon, but the weather turned out reasonably good and we were not caught in the rain, which was fortunate.

What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Senso-ji The guests were visitors from North America who were visiting Japan for the first time. After sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to depart from Yokohama on a 12-day cruise. At Meiji Shrine, they appeared to be impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo Shogunate. At Senso-ji, they were interested in explanations about the differences between temples and shrines, as well as the Kaminarimon Gate. They also purchased a T-shirt as a souvenir at a shop near Senso-ji. Since I responded according to the guests' wishes, I believe they were satisfied.

What Is a Private Toyosu and Tsukiji Fish Market Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time, arriving from Oceania and planning to stay for about two weeks. On the way to Toyosu by taxi, I explained Japan's food culture to them. After exploring Toyosu Market, they chose coffee and sandwiches for breakfast — which made sense, as they had booked a sushi-making experience tour for late morning. At both Toyosu and Tsukiji, the guests were able to understand the traditions and workings of Japan's fish markets. We traveled from Toyosu to Tsukiji on the "Yurikamome" line. Luckily, we were able to get seats in the very front row, and the guests thoroughly enjoyed the views of Odaiba.

タイトル欄: What Is a Private Foodie Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Kagurazaka 本文欄: The guests were visitors from North America. Since they had introduced themselves during our earlier exchanges as foodies who love to eat, I suggested Tsukiji. Along with that, they had requested a mix of major sightseeing spots and lesser-known places for shopping, so I guided them to Meiji Shrine and Kagurazaka. Originally we had planned to visit the Shibuya Scramble Crossing as well, but after enjoying a lot of food sampling around Tsukiji, we ran over time. I suggested we choose either Shibuya or Kagurazaka for the rest of the day, and we decided on Kagurazaka. In the past I might have tried to force both into the schedule and gone over time, but I reflected on that, and I feel I have grown a little as a guide. In particular, the guests had signed up for a chopstick-making class in Ginza at 5:00, so I needed to finish on time. They were very easygoing and kind guests, which was wonderful. We had a late lunch in Kagurazaka, wandered the back streets while shopping, and I wrote down directions to Ginza on a piece of paper to hand over before seeing them off at Iidabashi Station. Later, the guests sent me photos of the chopstick-making session via a messaging app. I was glad they were able to take part without any trouble.

Title: What Is a Private Car Tour with a Licensed Guide in Japan Like? A Guide's Report The guests had arrived at Haneda the previous day, and customs had been crowded, taking about an hour and a half, but they did not seem tired. The guests appeared to be the type who do not show much emotion, and they did not offer many comments or ask many questions in response to my explanations, but they took a lot of photos with their smartphones, so I believe they enjoyed themselves in their own way. Due to the effects of a typhoon, the cruise ship they were supposed to board had not yet arrived in Japan, and they were disappointed that they would miss one port of call (Nagasaki?). Sightseeing with a car really is easier for the guide as well.

Title: What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from Europe, very friendly and easy to talk with. On Miyajima, as on the previous day, Itsukushima Shrine had restricted entry for about two hours due to high tide, so we were unable to enter upon arrival today. Since there had been an entry restriction the day before as well, we followed the alternate route I had prepared in advance for such restrictions. Just as we finished seeing all the other spots, the restriction was lifted, and because I had arranged the shrine tickets in advance, we were able to enter immediately, which delighted the guests very much. They said it was wonderful to see the beautiful shrine at high tide, and that they might have felt some regret if they had not been able to see it, so I was truly relieved that we made it just in time. We had to walk quickly to catch the ferry, but the guests were used to walking and did so with smiles. They also greatly enjoyed the okonomiyaki for lunch, and one of the guests said it was the most delicious thing they had eaten in Japan. At the museum, they found the graphic photographs difficult to look at and moved through quickly, but at the final section about Sadako Sasaki, we had visited the Children's Peace Monument beforehand and I had explained its story, and we had folded and offered paper cranes before coming, so the guests viewed it carefully with tears in their eyes. At the end, the guests kindly told me that being guided by someone born and raised locally allowed them to learn many things they would never have noticed on their own, which made me very happy.
