What Is a Private Nikko Day Tour Like in Autumn? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. Before coming to Japan, they had spent time in Asia, and after Nikko they planned to continue to Hakone, Kyoto, Nara, and Kanazawa. The first communication was information sharing through the guests' travel agency. The agency mentioned that they wanted to visit Kegon Falls, but during the autumn foliage season it was difficult to judge how crowded it would be, and taxi reservations were fully booked, so my proposals changed several times, which caused some inconvenience. In the end, it turned out to be faster to discuss directly with the guests themselves, so after that I proceeded with the plan while listening to their wishes. The guests said that they had already seen many waterfalls in Asia before coming to Japan, so they were not particularly set on visiting Kegon Falls and were happy to focus on the World Heritage area instead. In the end, I suspect it was the travel agency that had been insisting on the waterfall. Even without going to the falls, the autumn foliage was gradually beginning in the World Heritage area, and the guests were delighted. While I explained the historical background of when Toshogu Shrine was built, the meaning of the Buddhist statues at Rinnoji Temple, and the original significance of the Jizo statues at Kanmangafuchi, one of the guests listened intently, taking in the stories of people's lives and the long history nurtured in Nikko over the years, and said they were glad to have learned such things. Both guests were very calm and kind, and it was very smooth to proceed while consulting about the itinerary at each step, resulting in a form that both sides were satisfied with, which was wonderful.

What's a Private Walking Tour of Northern Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were cheerful visitors from North America. In advance, the travel agency requested that I plan a route in the northern area of the city, since the group would be visiting Osaka Castle and the sightseeing spots of the Minami district the following day. I was a little unsure about Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street because it has a strong local character, but the guests enjoyed shopping there, and I also showed them the drinking-alley area behind Tenma, which drew the comment that they were glad to see the real Osaka and had a great time. This time I guided them through Nakanoshima Park for the first time, and we went inside the retro-style Nakanoshima Public Hall and the Nakanoshima Library, which they viewed with more interest than I had expected. We also passed through the interior of Osaka City Hall, and finally I guided them to the Umeda Sky Building, a classic northern landmark. As it had grown dark by then, we enjoyed the night view with its beautiful illumination, and then parted ways.

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like for Guests from North America? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. They were very interested in everything, asked many questions, and walked energetically, though they had some difficulty with stairs and slopes. At Fushimi Inari, we used the elevator and skipped part of the route. At the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, we took the flat path to avoid the slopes. At Kinkaku-ji, we unfortunately had to turn back partway, but a staff member kindly guided us through a shortcut to the exit. The photo was taken at the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Thanks to the driver, we were able to finish within the scheduled time.

What Is a Private Day Tour of Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. In light rain, we first visited the Hakone Open-Air Museum. The guests were surprised, saying that although there are many art museums back home, this was their first time visiting one dedicated entirely to outdoor exhibits. After I explained the main sculptures, the guests freely explored the Picasso Pavilion and enjoyed it. Next, we took the ropeway from Sounzan and explored Owakudani, where they enjoyed eating black eggs and were delighted at the idea that their lifespan would be extended by seven years. After that, we boarded the pirate ship and headed to Moto-Hakone. When we tried to have lunch, even though it was past 2:00, an awkward time, the restaurants were full and we faced overtourism firsthand. Since I had told them in advance that it might be crowded, there were no complaints, and we had a light lunch at a bakery, visited Hakone Shrine, and then parted ways.

Title: What's a Private Sake Brewery Tour of Nada Gogo and Kobe Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. They were remarkably strong walkers, among the most active guests I have ever guided, which allowed us to move through the itinerary very smoothly. As a result, we finished so quickly that we even had time to spare, which was a new experience for me. This was a sake brewery tour of Nada Gogo. The guests clearly enjoyed sake, and at each brewery they tried both the free tastings and the paid tastings, and purchased many souvenirs. Because everything went so smoothly, we finished visiting the originally planned spots about two hours early. After asking the guests what they would like to do, we added visits to "Nankinmachi" (Kobe Chinatown) and "Ikuta Shrine." At Nankinmachi, they enjoyed pork buns at "Roshoki," said to be the birthplace of the pork bun, and then tried "akashiyaki" (octopus dumplings eaten with Japanese dashi broth), which I recommended as a guide located nearby, and they were very satisfied. At Ikuta Shrine, they experienced a proper visit, and within the grounds I introduced a monument said to have been erected by Kobe's food-related businesses, restaurants, and cooking schools to express gratitude to their kitchen knives, which they found very interesting. Incidentally, the guests work in the restaurant field. Since they were a little tired and their hotel was near Ikuta Shrine, we parted ways with about an hour of the scheduled time remaining. The guests were very kind and friendly toward me throughout, and we were even able to joke around with one another, so I was grateful for how enjoyable the guiding experience was.

I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some

explanation for these three foods.

1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

What's a Private Cruise Day Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe on a cruise ship stopping in Hiroshima. They had visited Tokyo a few times for work over a decade earlier, but this was their first time visiting Japan for sightseeing, and both of them gave the impression of thoroughly enjoying Japan. They were also struck by how much Tokyo had changed since then. The tour began with a visit to Miyajima, and we were very fortunate: at Itsukushima Shrine we were able to see a local tutelary deity festival, and along the main approach we saw a festival parade centered on young children. The Great Torii Gate was at low tide, so we were also able to walk down beneath it and enjoy taking photographs. Afterward, they enjoyed okonomiyaki for lunch, and then I took them to the Peace Memorial Park, where we walked around the monuments and visited the Peace Memorial Museum. Both guests were especially interested in World War II, including the atomic bombing, and during the high-speed ferry ride from Miyajima to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park we were able to talk at length about topics such as why Japan entered World War II. At the end, they said they would make their own way back to the ferry terminal in Ujina, so we finished the tour ten minutes ahead of schedule. They appeared to have enjoyed the tour, and it was an enjoyable tour for me as well.

Can You Do a Private Day Trip to Hiroshima by Taxi? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from Oceania and Asia, along with a young child. A phone call came in the previous evening, and it was suddenly decided that we would travel by taxi. One of the guests was interested in samurai, so we went to see Hiroshima Castle. The group also showed interest in photographs of Hiroshima before and after the atomic bombing, and looked carefully at pictures showing the reconstruction of the city. After that we had an okonomiyaki lunch (the portions seemed quite large), and then visited the Peace Memorial Park and the museum. Since it was a larger group, everyone viewed the exhibits at their own pace, and it took some effort to keep the group together, but I believe everyone felt it was worth coming to Hiroshima. Another good point was that it was less crowded compared to a holiday weekend, so we were able to take our time looking around. We parted with smiles at the end, and the tour concluded.

My name is Yuka Yoshida. I am a Hiroshima Government Licensed Guide Interpreter. I was born and raised in Tokyo. I lived in the U.K. and the U.S. for 10 years, when I had chances to travel different cities in those countries, as well as India, Ghana, Canada. I had wonderful experiences in different cultures and environments there. Since I moved to Hiroshima 18 years ago, I was intrigued by this city, especially Miyajima Island. I love outdoors and playing tennis. I started working as a tourist guide in 2024. I am passionate and enthusiastic about working as a guide, because it gives me enjoyable opportunities of meeting and talking with people and learning new things. I used to work in an elementary school for 13 years as an English teacher. It was a wonderland where classroom atmosphere changed every year so much. With this background, I am versatile to adapt myself to any situations and flexibly accommodate guest’s requests. As a guide, I frequently visit monuments in the Peace Memorial Park, including the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Museum, and the magnificent Itsukushima shrine on Miyajima Island.

Let me tell you briefly about Hiroshima. Hiroshima prefecture is located in western Japan, facing the Seto Inland Sea to the south. There is a famous Japanese garden, Shukkeien Garden in the middle of the city. It was built as a garden for the villa of Nagaakira Asano, the lord of Hiroshima Castle during the early Edo period (1603-1868). You will be surprised to see how peaceful and relaxing the garden is when you browse there. It’s not a huge garden, but it presents a wonderful landscape of a traditional Japanese garden and different beautiful colors every season.

Hiroshima prefecture is unique, having two World Heritage Sites.

One of them is the Atomic Bomb Dome. As you can see, Hiroshima is a city of many attractions today, but it is also the place where the world’s first atomic bomb was used on August 6, 1945, near the end of the World War II. The atomic bombing destroyed Hiroshima City completely, killing approximately 140,000 people that was about 40 percent of Hiroshima’s population at that time by the end of 1945. You will be amazed at how the city of Hiroshima has been rebuilt since then. Our tour will visit the monuments in the Peace Memorial Park and provide you with rich information that you cannot find in any guidebook.

By joining this visit, I am sure that you will better understand why the people of Hiroshima hope for the peaceful world so fervently.
The other World Heritage Site is Itsukushima Shrine. The entire island of Miyajima is one of the three most beautiful scenic spots in Japan. It is a very popular tourist attraction in the Seto Inland Sea area which is also designated as a national park for its beauty. Itsukushima Shrine has a long history going back to the 6th century. It is very unique and outstanding architecture which attracted people from the ancient time. The shrine and the Big Gate, O-torii, are must-sees.

Regarding food, Hiroshima offers delicious oysters. On Miyajima Island, you can enjoy shopping on the Omotesando street (a main street) which gives you opportunities to eat out, not only grilled oysters but also some local sweets, such as Momiji-manju (that is like a sponge cake sweets with a shape of maple leaf), lemon beverages and so on. Another delicacy is Okonomiyaki, savory pancakes with a lot of vegetables with your choice of numerous toppings which you should definitely try.

Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Tour with a Licensed Guide Like? A Guide's Report on Arashiyama and Beyond Because the schedule was tight, I recommended using a taxi in advance. The tour was joined by guests visiting from Europe. At first one of the guests interpreted as we went along, but partway through another of the guests also joined the conversation using simple English, adding jokes and enjoying the experience. This is aside from the tour itself, but at the Bamboo Grove Path I found graffiti carved into the bamboo, which made me feel very sad. Because shrines and temples can often be entered for free, poor manners among some foreign tourists stand out, such as eating and drinking within the precincts or sitting on the ground. When people sit on the ground and then use taxi or restaurant seats, it can feel unhygienic and unpleasant. The driver also expressed frustration about passengers who drink and eat in the car and leave trash behind. I strongly felt that improving awareness of good manners will be necessary so that Japan's beautiful sightseeing spots can be protected in the future.

What Is a Private Day Tour from Niigata East Port to Tsukioka Onsen Like? A Licensed Guide's Report It had been raining right up until the tour began, so I was full of worry, but miraculously it did not rain during the six hours of the tour, and I felt truly relieved. Since I had learned from the country code that the guests were visiting from Europe, I prepared in advance some materials showing the relationship between Japan and Europe, as well as Japanese words derived from that region's language that are still in use today. Thanks to this, our conversation flowed nicely while we were on the move. I thought that the famous sightseeing spots would be crowded on the day a cruise ship arrives, so this time I chose a slightly less well-known route to Tsukioka Onsen. The guests tried the foot baths and took a leisurely stroll, and they were very pleased. This was my third time going to pick up guests at Niigata East Port. This time it was far more crowded than on the previous two occasions, packed with tour buses and taxis waiting for passengers. I understand that [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) now has a policy that, for assignments at Niigata East Port, the guide does not ride along to the port and only the driver goes there. However, I felt that this arrangement may be quite difficult to carry out in practice. This time, because I was connected with the guests via a messaging app, I was able to meet them successfully at the port by frequently sending updates such as "I am now standing next to the flag of this color." But if it were only the taxi driver alone, I felt that meeting up would be very difficult.

What's a Private Miyajima and Itsukushima Shrine Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan from Oceania. They kindly let me know in advance that they had arrived in Hiroshima the previous day and had already visited the Peace Memorial Museum, which was very helpful. The group had made the trip all the way to Hiroshima out of a strong interest in education and a wish to learn about peace. On this day, we happened to encounter an unusually high tide, which occurs only a few times a year, and there was just a 15-minute window during which we could enter Itsukushima Shrine. Thanks to catching an earlier ferry, we did not have to wait one to one and a half hours for the tide to recede, and we were very lucky to witness the thrilling sight of the seawater rising almost to the level of the shrine's floor.
