Title: What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Hamarikyu, Tsukiji, Shibuya, Meiji Shrine, and Shinjuku The guests were from Oceania and were visiting Japan for the first time. They had arrived the day before and, after staying in Yokohama for a few days, planned to board a cruise, with the overall stay in Japan lasting about two weeks. On this tour, I guided the guests through Hamarikyu Gardens, Tsukiji, Shibuya, Meiji Shrine, and Shinjuku. From the itinerary planning stage, the guests had expressed a wish to eat wagyu beef and sushi at Tsukiji, so we did not set aside a separate time for lunch and instead kept moving through the itinerary. As requested, they enjoyed wagyu beef and sushi at Tsukiji and seemed very satisfied. Since we had not taken a settled lunch break, we stopped for a short rest at the café at Forest Terrace Meiji Jingu in the afternoon. At the end, I saw the guests off at their hotel, where we parted ways.

Title: What Is a Private One-Day Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Zojoji, the Imperial Palace, and Meiji Shrine The guest was visiting Japan for the first time from North America. The tour had been booked on their behalf by one of the guests. The plan was to meet up with some family members the day after next for sightseeing in Kyoto, and then to continue to another destination in Asia after Japan. For the following day, a bus tour to Mount Fuji had already been reserved, so we first walked to the meeting point, Cocoon Tower, to confirm the location in person before boarding the subway. Throughout the tour, the guest took many photos, including the Grant pine at Zojoji Temple and the main hall with Tokyo Tower in the background. I was happy to help take photos of the guest with these scenes as a backdrop. The guest appeared to travel all over the world and enjoys reviewing travel memories using a smartphone app that compiles each trip into an album. They kindly introduced it to me as a convenient app. The guest was moved by the beauty of the pine trees at the Imperial Palace Plaza and the solemn atmosphere of the forest at Meiji Shrine. Since the guest does not eat pork but wished to try something typically Japanese, and sushi had already been reserved, I recommended tempura. The guest thoroughly enjoyed tempura at a tempura restaurant near Tokyo Station. Freshly fried tempura was served each time, and when this happened three times over, the guest was delighted and pleasantly surprised. The sky was cloudy and looked like rain, but it never truly began to pour, and we were able to finish the tour. The guest felt reassured knowing the meeting point for the early-morning Mount Fuji tour the next day, and we said our goodbyes at the hotel.

What Is a Private Day Trip in Kochi Like from a Cruise Ship? A Licensed Guide's Report It was a hot day blessed with fine weather. The guests were visitors from North America. They had originally hoped to visit Nakatsu Gorge, which takes about 80 minutes each way, but because the ship's docking time was short, I recommended the yakatabune (traditional roofed boat) route, which takes about 50 minutes each way. Since the guests had dietary considerations, I suggested they eat a late breakfast on the ship, and for lunch they bought rice balls at a convenience store and enjoyed them on the yakatabune. Considering the situation, even though there are two dedicated shops in Kochi, I felt that simple salted rice balls were the option one could feel most confident about.

    Hi! I’m Kay.
It’s my pleasure to be your guide.
I was born and raised in Kochi city, and I worked for Kochi City Hall for nearly 30 years, so I think I know a lot about Kochi.

Firstly, I can guide you to the Kochi castle. Most castles you can find in Japan have been rebuilt after fires, wars, or natural disasters. However, Kochi Castle is one of the very few castles that still have the whole structure of its original tower and the mail palace from the Edo period (1603–1868). This makes it especially valuable for understanding Japan’s history and traditional architecture. You’ll like it!

Other major tourist sites are adventurous Ryugado limestone cave, Makino botanical garden, Chikurinji temple with historical stonesteps, Zenjibuji temple with the spectacular panoramic view, paper-making activity, Oboke gorge, Nakatsu gorge, Niyodo river with a historical bridge and so on.
If you like sake, you can visit sake brewery, and if you are interested in walking local streets, you can stroll my neighborhood.

Kochi is a small city, but it’s very popular among tourists for its beautiful nature and good food. I took my kids to rivers and mountains when they were little. If you are interested in those places, please ask me. And I know many good restaurants, too.
I’m looking forward to enjoying them together with you!

What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Oceania who had arrived in Japan early this morning. They were on the return leg of a trip that had included Italy, and planned to visit Disneyland the next day, with the day after that still undecided, before returning home the following day. Their luggage had been lost during a transfer in Europe, and since it would likely arrive the next day at the earliest, they wanted to buy some clothes to wear the following day. As Shibuya, our final stop, has many options, I offered to introduce some shops there. At first, jet lag made things a bit challenging, but around Akihabara the guests began to feel more energetic. They did not buy anything in particular at Nakamise, but on Takeshita Street they were delighted to find clothes for pets (they mentioned having a dog at home) and did some shopping. I explained the route to Disneyland for the next day, described where to shop in Shibuya, and we parted ways. During the pre-tour coordination, it had already been understood that with a 12:00 start, many shops at the Tsukiji Outer Market would be closing, and that Meiji Shrine would likely be reached after its gates had closed.

I had worked in the international business scene for over 40 years and traveled to North America and European countries over 1000 days.
After I retired from the business, I traveled to most of the major sightseeing spots in all 47 prefectures in Japan.

My guide is starting from a brief history of the site where I am going to guide. I usually add a briefing about Japanese culture based on religions, such as Shinto Shrine and Buddhist temples. A geographic background behind the history is also important.
    My course includes 4 to 5 (in 6 hours) sites from the following depending on where I will pick the guests up;
    – Senso ji Temple
    – Kappabashi Kitchenware Market
    – Tokyo Skytree
    – Ueno Park
    – Nezu Shrine
    – Imperial Palace outer park
    – Tokyo Central Station, Marunouchi historic district
    – Tsukiji Fish Market
    – Koishikawa Korakuen Garden
    – Ginza
    – Odaiba
    – Hama Rikyu Garden
    – Shinjuku Gyoen Garden
    – Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building
    – Roppongi
    – Meiji Shrine
    – Harajuku & Takeshita Street
    – Shibuya
    – and Any of your interest.

I am happy to introduce Japanese Manga/Anime cultures such as Akihabara, Nakano Broadway and Ghibli related sites.
Travelling along the JR central line where guests can stopover at major animation studios (it is not accepted to visit the inside). The majority of animation studios such as TMS Entertainment, SUNRISE, A1 Pictures etc. are located in this area. Suginami Animation museum, Studio Ghibli and Ghibli Museum are also located.
Guests can feel old houses in the Spirited Away scene in the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum.

I can also provide a pilgrimage to the sacred place (shooting location) for the Shinkai Makoto animation movies such as Your name, Weathering with you, and Suzume.

Another interesting feature is to visit authentic Japanese style pub meals such as Yakitori, Karaage, and Sushi etc.
Asakusa Hoppy Street, Ameyoko Street, Yurakucho, Shimbashi, Shinjuku Golden gai, Shinjuku Omoide Yokocho are nice to visit.

A Sake tasting at Sake Cellar can be an option.

In addition to the above, I am available in the neighboring cities.

Kawagoe is an old town developed in the 17th century. It has very close relationship with the Edo central government. Kawagoe castle ruins, Kitain temple and 500 Buddha statues will welcome the guests.
These areas are renovated and provide an old days atmosphere.
Japanese style sweets food stands will fascinate the guests.
Kawagoe is about 1 – 1.5 train trip from Tokyo.

Kamakura is the first Samurai worriers government established in the late 12th century.
The Buddhism are introduced to Japan in the 6th century, and flourished at Nara and Kyoto later. A newer Buddhism sect such as Zen has well developed at Kamakura area.
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Gigantic Buddha statue at Kotokuin Temple and the flower temple Hasedera Temple are must-see.
Kamakura is about 1 – 1.5 train trip from Tokyo.

I am also happy to develop any other site the guests have interest.

    • 14:45 Depart Sakurajima, ferry to Kagoshima City
    • 15:30 Disband in front of the Sheraton

What Is a Private Sakurajima Tour Like in Kagoshima? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was an energetic visitor from North America who walks 10 km every day. Since it was a one-on-one tour, I was asked about all kinds of topics, including history, immigration, religion, real estate, and declining birth rates. The guest shared stories about their home region as well as asked many questions about Japan. The guest had a great love for Japan and other parts of Asia, and talked endlessly about beauty topics, cosmetics, and dramas, so the focus was more on letting the guest speak comfortably than on formal sightseeing commentary. This was the guest's second visit to the Arimura Lava Observatory, having also come the previous year, and they murmured how beautiful it was many times, clearly moved by the view.

I’m a national government licensed tour guide. I moved to Kagoshima from Osaka four years ago because I was amazed by its perfect blend of stunning nature beauty and rich culture. We can see the majestic Sakurajima volcano from the city, which reminds us the powerful natural forces. Kagoshima was home to major Meiji Restoration figures, so history lovers will find plenty to explore. And of course, the food is incredible—famous for Kurobuta (Berkshire pork), Satsuma-age (fried fish cakes), and Shochu (a local distilled spirit).

I’m passionate about history and love visiting historical sites all over Japan. I also like outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and camping. Kagoshima’s natural landscape is perfect for these adventures, so there’s always something new to discover.

I look forward to sharing wonderful Kagoshima with you and making unforgettable memories together!

What Is a Private Nikko Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kegon Falls and Chuzenji According to the website, Akechidaira was covered in heavy fog with no visibility, so we skipped it. After confirming by phone that Kegon Falls could be seen at the time, we decided to go. The water volume was 0.3 tons, which was on the lower side, but the autumn leaves had begun to turn and matched the surrounding scenery beautifully, and the guests were delighted. Chuzenji was almost entirely hidden by fog. On the way back, the first bus was crowded so we waited for the next one, but we were able to board with almost no wait, which was fortunate. One of the guests had requested gluten-free options, so I had confirmed the day before with a restaurant we had in mind that it would be open today, but when we arrived it was actually closed. There were no other gluten-free restaurants nearby, so we had to move on again. The guests were understanding, which was a relief, but I realized that when specific menu requirements are involved, it is best to confirm again on the day before heading out. The guests seemed to enjoy nature and places with strong local character, and I was glad they enjoyed Nikko.

What Can You See on a Private One-Day Osaka Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report At Osaka Castle, the guests wished to reach the top floor, and despite the crowds, everyone was able to make it up while taking their time to look around, which they were delighted with. As they had requested a tea ceremony set, I took them to a shop in the area that sells tea items. They purchased all the tea bowls and utensils they liked, so I was glad I could bring them to a good shop. In Dotonbori, I also guided them to Ukiyo Koji and Hozenji Yokocho, and they very much enjoyed the unique atmosphere of those places. At Shitennoji Temple, a flea market happened to be taking place, and they did some shopping there as well. They told me it had been a wonderful day, which made me very happy.

At Rikugien Garden, which was quiet and uncrowded, they strolled leisurely and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the peaceful scenery. At Meiji Shrine, I explained Japanese history, the difference between shrines and temples, and the significance of Meiji Shrine, and the guests took photos at key spots, prayed at the main hall, and drew omikuji fortunes. On Takeshita Street, after enjoying a parfait, they took in the open views from the rooftop garden of Harakado. We then moved to Gotokuji Station, had lunch at a shop in the shopping street, and arrived at Gotokuji Temple. At Gotokuji, I explained the origin of the beckoning cat (maneki-neko) and the relationship between the Ii family and the shogun, after which they took commemorative photos with the many beckoning cat figurines in front of the Shofukuden hall. The tour concluded at Gotokuji Station.

What Is a Private Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park Tour from the Cruise Terminal Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from North America, and I welcomed them at the cruise ship terminal at Ujina Port in Hiroshima. After exchanging the itinerary several times beforehand, the plan was to visit Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Castle, Shukkeien Garden, and then a restaurant. However, after meeting the guests on the day, we adjusted part of the plan, and the flow became a guided visit to Peace Memorial Park followed by parting ways. At the Peace Memorial Museum in particular, the guests asked many earnest questions, and their attitude toward learning the history of this place was truly moving. They said they would love to return and visit again in the future.

    Welcome to Hiroshima.
My name is Hiroshi Tsuji, a licensed guide based in Hiroshima and Miyajima. My family has been connected to Miyajima for more than 300 years, and I am pleased to share the history, culture, and daily life of this unique island with visitors from around the world. Please feel free to call me Hiroshi.
With a background in outdoor sports—including rock climbing, scuba diving, and long-distance triathlons—I have completed several Ironman races abroad. I studied in Kyoto and later worked in management at a publicly listed company, which allowed me to live in many different regions of Japan and develop a deeper understanding of the country’s diverse culture and history.
In Hiroshima, I guide guests through the Peace Memorial Park, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, and share perspectives on the history of Hiroshima and modern Japan.
In Miyajima, I introduce Itsukushima Shrine, Mount Misen, the island’s beautiful scenery, and its local cuisine. As someone whose family has been connected to Miyajima for generations, I also enjoy sharing local insights and experiences that offer a more personal connection to the island’s culture and way of life.
I look forward to welcoming you to Hiroshima and Miyajima.
    Hiroshi
