    What's a Private Sapporo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Hokkaido Jingu, a Knife Shop, and Otaru The guests were a group visiting Hokkaido for the first time from Europe. They had visited Japan two years earlier, when they experienced a pilgrimage in Shikoku and traveled to Kyoto. One of the guests had studied Japanese at university and had planned to come to Japan as an exchange student, but was unable to do so, and is a great fan of Japan. Their Japanese was excellent, another of the guests loved Japanese manga, and one more knew a little Japanese as well. Because the guests were interested in old and traditional things in Japan, they were very pleased to visit Hokkaido Jingu. They did not seem particularly interested in food, so we skipped lunch. They were heading to Otaru next, so I explained how to get there and shared some sightseeing tips for Otaru. One of the guests wanted to buy a Japanese knife that had been requested, so I took the group to a knife shop, where they purchased a santoku knife and a nakiri knife. They were also interested in Ainu culture and mentioned that they were planning to visit a museum. The guests were very much looking forward to experiencing an onsen and riding the Shinkansen.

    Title: What's a Private Family-Friendly Day Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group from Asia, and I met them at the Hotel as scheduled and explained the itinerary. Since they planned to visit the Metropolitan Government Building on their own, we strolled through the Kabukicho area. They planned to return on their own to the discount store as well. They were delighted by the Godzilla Head. At Meiji Shrine, I gave explanations using simple, easy-to-follow logic to suit the interests of the group. As expected, the group grew especially lively along Takeshita Street. They stopped at several shops for their own purchases and souvenirs and seemed very satisfied. After receiving feedback that they were not particularly interested in things like Pokémon in Shibuya, I introduced them to a lifestyle goods store and the Disney Store. I took my leave in front of the lifestyle goods store.

    I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
    I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.
    I hope I can attend to you with the Japanese politeness, hospitality and smile.

    I would like to introduce the photogenic sites, the indigenous experiences
    and good Japanese local food around Tokyo, Hakone/Mt Fuji.

    What do I love?
    Most of all, my family. I have a wife 56 yrs old, a son 28 yrs old and a daughter 25 yrs old.
    I like eating raw fish and sushi, buckwheat noodles and curry rice.

    How do I spend my spear time?
    I run for 5 km in the morning listening to my favorite music.
    I might have a chance to go to a studio program in the fitness club nearby once a week.

    Title: What's a Rainy-Day Private Walking Tour of Yanaka, Nezu, and Kappabashi in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. About a week before this tour, they had arrived at Haneda Airport and immediately traveled to Sapporo, spending a week in Hokkaido, where they enjoyed the autumn foliage, hot springs, and fresh seafood. They came to Tokyo the day before and strolled around the Asakusa area the previous evening. They planned to stay in Tokyo until the following day and return home the day after that. This was a tour held in rainy weather. We first headed to the Yanaka-Nezu-Sendagi area. The guests had requested to see "the old streetscapes of Tokyo." They were all very fond of cats and mentioned that they had learned about the Yanaka-Nezu-Sendagi area through social media. We strolled slowly through the streets, and they purchased a stuffed-cat toy, saying, "We love this kind of townscape." We also took our time walking through Yanaka Cemetery. We then moved to Nezu Shrine. Within the grounds, many families were visiting for the Shichi-Go-San ceremony. I explained about Shinto, torii gates, the history of Edo and Tokyo, and Inari shrines. There were questions such as "What kind of religion is Shinto?" and "Why did Shinto arise?" Everyone bought omikuji fortunes, drawing "great blessing" and "small blessing." We took a break at a coffee shop along the way. Next we moved to the Kappabashi kitchenware street. Their goals were kitchen knives and plastic food samples. They browsed each shop slowly, checking the items again and again, and each person purchased a knife and food sample they liked. They said, "We've achieved the goal of our trip to Japan." They also made comments and asked questions such as "The city is so clean and there's no litter," "We don't see any homeless people," and "Why are there no trash cans on the streets?" I saw them off at Asakusa Station, and we parted ways.

    Self-introduction:
    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity.     What's a Private Tokyo Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Ginza The guests were a friendly group visiting from Oceania. One of the guests especially loved Japanese food, so they purchased otoro (fatty tuna) and enjoyed it at a rest area. Since it was close to their hotel, they mentioned they would like to return on Wednesday. Afterward, we went to Asakusa and offered prayers at Kaminarimon, Hozomon, and the main hall. When they drew an omikuji fortune, they got "daikichi" (great blessing), which delighted one of the guests. They wanted to purchase Shinkansen tickets from Tokyo to Kyoto, so we made a reservation and bought the tickets at the ticket office in Ueno, and then headed to Ginza. From the rooftop garden of Ginza Six, they took in the cityscape and were amazed by the Uniqlo building. At Ramen Street, at the request of one of the guests, we went to a shio (salt) ramen shop called Hirugao, and they said it was delicious. Afterward, they wanted to return to Ginza, so I took them to Kyobashi Station and ended the tour. It was fortunate that there was almost no rain.

    Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? Tsukiji, Shinjuku, and Shibuya with a Licensed Guide The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. This was their first visit to Japan, part of a celebratory trip lasting eight days, with only three days spent in Tokyo. After Tokyo, they planned to visit Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka, then return to Tokyo before heading home. They had arrived at Haneda Airport a couple of days earlier. The previous day, they visited Asakusa and the Imperial Palace, and strolled around Ginza in the evening. Today, their request was: "We'd like to visit different spots in Tokyo from yesterday, while also learning how to use the subway." It was a cloudy day, with occasional light rain during the tour. First, we headed to Tsukiji. ("We haven't had breakfast, so we'd like to eat something at Tsukiji.") Despite it being a market holiday, the area was crowded with tourists. I explained "the history of Tokyo's fish markets since the Edo period" and "the difference between Toyosu Market and the Tsukiji Outer Market." There were questions and comments such as "Do all Tokyo residents come here to buy fish?" and "It's crowded, but it seems there are a lot of tourists." The guests purchased and sampled "grilled Kobe beef skewers," "tuna sushi," and "melon." Since they wanted to see a Japanese garden, we walked to Hamarikyu Gardens. I explained "the history of the garden," "the history of Edo to Tokyo," and "the Meiji Restoration." There were comments and questions such as "Japanese gardens really are wonderful, especially the pine trees," and "We have maple trees planted in our garden at home. Can we not see autumn maple leaves yet?" We walked back to Tsukiji Station and headed to Shinjuku. I explained "the origins of Shinjuku," "the difference between the east and west sides," and "the history of Kabukicho." We strolled through "Omoide Yokocho," "Kabukicho," and "Shinjuku Golden Gai" in turn. The guests seemed to like the "cat billboard" and took photos enthusiastically. There was a comment: "This place (Kabukicho) has a different atmosphere from the others. There's some litter scattered around." Almost all the shops in Shinjuku Golden Gai were closed, but several groups of tourists were walking around. We also looked at the underground food floor inside Isetan. We moved on to Shibuya. We actually crossed the Scramble Crossing. There were questions such as "Why do so many people gather here?" and "Why did it become so famous?" We also took photos in front of the Hachiko statue. Since they wanted to have sushi, we went to a sushi restaurant. They remarked, "There are many sushi restaurants in North America too, but the ones where you can eat with peace of mind are very expensive." There were also comments and questions such as "There are hardly any homeless people on the streets. Why is that?" "The streets are clean and there's no litter." and "Why are there no trash bins on the streets?" There was also a question: "The public restrooms are clean and wonderful, but there are no hand dryers. Why is that?" I saw them off at Hibiya Station, where we parted ways.

The whole group enjoyed Senso-ji Temple together and did some shopping, buying souvenirs and a matcha latte. For lunch, we went to a ramen restaurant along Kaminarimon-dori. During the day we traveled by taxi, which the guests arranged through their own app. The guests wanted the younger members of the group to experience Japanese culture, and it was memorable to see them checking in a quiz format whether the guide's explanations along the way had been remembered. The guests were staying at a Hotel, and they were planning to visit Tokyo Disneyland the following day. As some of the guests were tired, we wrapped up a little earlier than planned.

    What Is a Private Kanazawa Cruise Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kenrokuen and Higashi Chaya The guests were a group visiting from a cruise ship, coming from North America. Some of the guests required extra consideration, so when explaining things I made sure to let them see the movement of my mouth. At Kenrokuen Garden, one of the guests needed to rest for a while and had some light food they had brought along, so during that time I guided the rest of the group around the garden. The weather that day was cloudy with a temperature of 16 degrees, which felt chilly, so the guests requested something warm to eat at Higashi Chaya District. I guided them to a soba restaurant, and the tour ended there. I believe everyone enjoyed themselves. Regarding the meeting at the Kanazawa Cruise Terminal, public transportation other than taxis (about 2,000 to 3,000 yen from within Kanazawa city) is extremely limited in frequency, so going by private car is essentially the only option. Therefore, when a tour ends within the city, I would like to request the minimum actual bus fare (this time from Hashiba-cho / Kanazawa Station, and Kanazawa Station / Kanazawa Port Cruise Terminal), which was 210 + 300 yen. In fact, the number of buses to the Kanazawa Port Cruise Terminal is also extremely limited, and the only option was the bus departing Kanazawa Station at 15:00 and arriving at the Cruise Terminal at 15:30.

A Licensed Guide's Report At 11:00 I attempted to pick up the guests at their accommodation, but their check-out was not yet complete. The guests asked whether nine suitcases could be loaded onto the vehicle, as they would be moving to Osaka Umeda that evening. I confirmed by phone with the driver, who said it was fine, but the microbus could not stop directly in front of the accommodation. The guests said they would wait on Kawabata Street. In the end, the accommodation staff worked together to carry all nine suitcases to the bus, and the tour started at 9:35. Because the tour started late, I adjusted the schedule with the guests. We decided not to visit Kinkaku-ji, and they said a light lunch would be fine. At Kiyomizu-dera the guests bought a charm, ate ice cream on Kiyomizu-zaka, and purchased chopsticks. The guests had already reserved assigned seats on the Hankyu Prime Car (17:35). I guided the guests to the platform at Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station, and the tour ended there.

A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji and Historic Sites Body: The guests were a group from North America who came from the Kansai area together with other members of their party, who went to Disneyland on the day of the tour. The guests preferred not to join the Disneyland outing and signed up for the [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) tour instead. On the day of the tour, the Saikyo Line was suspended and the Yamanote Line was extremely crowded. The nearest station to the guests' hotel was Shin-Okubo Station on the Yamanote Line, but I explained the situation and we decided to start from Okubo Station instead. The guests did not do any street-food snacking, but they love cooking and toured the Tsukiji Outer Market with great enthusiasm. They had visited many temples and shrines in the Kansai area, but since they had been sightseeing without a guide, they were not familiar with Japanese history, the differences between Shinto and Buddhism, or the proper way to pray, so I explained these things during the tour. The guests had requested in advance that we include some rest breaks along the way, but they pushed on without taking dedicated break time, resting instead by sitting down on the trains. I was glad we managed to complete the tour without any rain.

    Title: What Is a Private Nikko Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour was for a group of guests who had connections to one another from before, which created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere throughout the tour. Some of the guests had visited Nikko three times before and were also living in Japan, so they were quite familiar with Japanese customs. Another of the guests, visiting for the first time, purchased a heart-shaped ema votive plaque, intending to hang it on a Christmas tree, which I thought was an interesting and creative way to use it. When we were about to head to Kanmangafuchi Abyss, I noticed that one of the guests was wearing shorts, and I became a little concerned about the possibility of being bitten by land leeches. However, one of the other guests reassured me that it would not be a problem, and so we decided to proceed. Fortunately, they had properly prepared insect repellent spray, and since the temperature had suddenly dropped, there was no issue at all, which put me at ease. The guests were very natural and easygoing, and the time flew by as we chatted and enjoyed ourselves. At the end, we said goodbye with a firm handshake.
