Title: What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kinkaku-ji, Arashiyama, Fushimi Inari, and Kiyomizu-dera The guests this time were a group visiting from North America. Regarding the destinations, I coordinated the plans in advance through one of the guests. From the very beginning, their wishes about where to visit were extremely clear, and the itinerary was fixed as "Kinkaku-ji ⇒ Arashiyama (Bamboo Grove) ⇒ Fushimi Inari ⇒ Kiyomizu-dera," with all travel between the sites planned to be by public transportation (subway, bus, and JR). The guests had already traveled through Tokyo and other areas, and were planning to finish their trip in the Kansai region (Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara). They had arrived in Kyoto the previous day, and this tour was their first day in Kansai. The day was blessed with clear autumn skies and pleasant weather that was perfect for sightseeing. It was the guests' first trip to Japan, and everything they saw and heard at each place they visited seemed fresh and new to them. However, perhaps because the fatigue of a long trip was setting in, although the plan had been to use public transportation for all travel, the guests requested to "use a taxi" for the trips from Kinkaku-ji to Arashiyama and from Fushimi Inari to Kiyomizu-dera, so we changed the mode of transportation to taxi. At the final destination, Kiyomizu-dera, we took a taxi partway up the long approach, then walked about ten minutes through the very crowded path before finally entering the temple grounds. Proceeding from the main Nio-mon Gate while explaining the key points along the way, we passed the three-story pagoda and the Naka-mon Gate, and just as we reached the ticket counter to enter the main hall, the guests expressed, "We are a little tired from walking. We would like to end today's tour here, so there is no need to go into the main hall of Kiyomizu-dera." I said, "There are still thirty minutes left, so I would like to guide you all the way to the end…," but the guests replied, "Don't worry about the remaining time. From here, we would like to slowly walk back down the approach and buy some souvenirs." In the end, I respected the guests' wishes and concluded the guiding at that point.

Hi, everyone! I’m Norifumi Kamon, a government registered guide interpreter. Please call me “Nori”, or “Kamon-san”.
Let me introdece myself. I was born on April 17th in 1952 in Miyazaki prefecture in Kyushu island. I used to be an English teacher of Osaka Prefectural high school. When I retired from a teacher ten years ago, I decided to get a professional guide license. I wanted to play a role of the bridge between Japanese people and the people from all over the world as a second life of mine. After two years efforts, I finally got the guide license. Since then, I have guided several handreds of foreign people mainly in Kyoto and Nara for about five years except Corona Pandemic period. Almost all the tourists were deeply impressed by the beauty of nature, traditoin, culture, and art of Japan. I can surely help you enjoy and be satisfied with the sightseeing in Japan. And I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.

    Tour Itinerary

    • 10:20 Ueno (Kiyomizu Kannon-do, Toshogu Shrine, Hanazono Inari
    • Shrine)
    • 11:50 Tsukiji Sushi Lunch
    • 14:20 Meiji Shrine
    • 16:00 Dismissal @ Shibuya Crossing

What's a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Ueno, Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya The guests were a group visiting from North America. Since they had already visited the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace on their own the day before, we toured Ueno, Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya. At Ueno, they listened with great interest as I explained the difference between shrines and temples and shared some Japanese history. At Tsukiji, they enjoyed a sushi lunch together with some drinks, and also had a great time shopping. At Meiji Shrine, the rain held off and they seemed to walk very comfortably and enjoy the atmosphere. In Shibuya, it started to rain, and at the Shibuya Scramble Crossing there were many police officers on duty in preparation for Halloween. The observation spot at Mark City was also closed, which was a little disappointing.

    • 10:10 Kinkaku-ji
    • 10:50 Kyoto Imperial Palace (including cafe and lunch)
    • 14:00 Shopping at Ippodo
    • 15:45 End at Gion bus stop

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest joined the tour alone. Since the guest left the choice of destinations up to the guide, I selected three places as an introduction. As the guest enjoyed nature, they were deeply impressed by the Japanese garden and the large trees at the Imperial Palace grounds. Although it was a rainy tour, the guest agreed with my explanation that rain is the best condition for viewing the trees. Away from the bustle of Kinkaku-ji, the guest enjoyed matcha at a tea house within the Imperial Palace grounds. As the guest wished to buy some matcha, we walked from the Imperial Palace grounds to a shop. Afterward, I guided the guest through Gion, and we concluded the tour at a bus stop.

Hello, my name is Mizuho Yoshikawa. Please call me Mizu and my name means rice and water in Japanese.
I’ve been a tour guide more than 200 times since the spring of 2023 in Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Wakayama and Kochi. My tour is always original and new, depending on the guest’s preferences, encounters, seasons and weather.
In Kyoto, one of my tours is to climb Mt. Kurama. It is about 1 hour from the city of Kyoto by train, it is a very quiet and beautiful mountain.
In Osaka, which is called the kitchen of Japan, I am also in charge of food tour.
In Nara, in addition to the Great Budda Hall, I guide guests to the temple with a really great view and Japanese wine, sake tasting.
Every city has a unique charming point.
The motto of my guiding is ” Ichigo Ichie” Once in a lifetime or seize the day. I learn this concept that the moment will never be the same again through tea ceremonies.
I like a tea ceremony that is part of the traditional Japanese culture and embodies the spirit of “omotenashi” or hospitality. Through the tea ceremony, we can feel the spirit of “omotenashi” that has been passed down to us from ancient times.
And I like to travel abroad and domestically, and I have been to 13 overseas countries and most of the prefectures in Japan. Traveling always gives me a new perspective, which is exciting and thrilling. Nowadays, we can learn a lot from the Internet, but traveling teaches us that it is important to have direct experience. When I travel, I feel that my five senses are infinitely expanded, and through my tour, I help all guests to have the same feeling in Japan.
I was born and raised in Kanagawa Prefecture, which is next to Tokyo Prefecture in eastern Japan. When I was little, I could see Mount Fuji from my backyard. There was also a rice field nearby, and I grew up listening to the croaking of frogs. Listening to the frogs and seeing the mountains made me feel very calm.
I moved to the city of Kobe, one of the Kansai areas in western Japan, which includes Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and so on. I’m not from the Kansai area of western Japan, but I think that makes me sensitive to the differences between that area and the Kanto area, Tokyo, where I grew up.
Speaking of Kobe, you might be thinking of Kobe beef. Of course you do. There are also other sake breweries in Nada in Kobe. You can also go from Kobe city to Himeji Castle, also known as the White Egret Castle, which was the first in Japan to be listed as a World Heritage Site in 1993.
Let’s meet and enjoy Japan together!

What Is a Private Kagoshima Tour to Sakurajima and Sengan-en Like? A Guide's Report We departed on time. It was already raining, and only a faint silhouette of Sakurajima could be seen, but by the time we reached the Sakurajima Ferry Terminal the rain had eased and Sakurajima gradually came into view. On the ferry, the guests were so busy taking photos they could have lost track of time. For lunch, at their request, we had a Japanese black wagyu beef lunch, and since it was the first time for many of them to grill their own yakiniku, there was a lot of excitement. Afterward everyone was very pleased. At Sengan-en we strolled through the garden and, near the cat shrine, took a group photo with a stone lantern and the pond as the backdrop, which I sent to them after the tour. It was a pleasant group, and as requested I delivered them to the ship at 15:50.

    Dear Guest

I am Guide for your Kagoshima Tour.
My nickname is Tachi, short hair, 69 years old, wearing glasses and quite small.

In Kagoshima, we can see many things in “What to expect”, like Sengan-en, Reimeikan, Terukuni Shrine, etc.
Could you please select must-see spots from the list and let us know, we will create your customised itinerary.

in addition, Could you please advise what kind of food/materials you want to eat for lunch?
and also if you have, what food/materials you can not eat, or what food/materials are prohibited to eat ?

    thank you for your request

What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like in the Rain? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who are now retired. In the morning it looked like the rain might hold off, but it began to rain at our first destination, Fushimi Inari. At Sanjusangendo and Kinkakuji it was only a light drizzle, but at the Sagano Bamboo Grove, Tenryuji, and Arashiyama the rain came down heavily. Since they needed to return to their cruise ship in Kobe on the 3:30 Shinkansen, we did not push ourselves and arrived at Kyoto Station a little after 14:00, where I guided them to the central Shinkansen entrance. As there was some time to spare, I thought of taking them to a department store, but they said they wanted to have coffee inside the station, so we parted at the central Shinkansen entrance.

I’m Ryoichi Kazuma and my nickname is “Kazz”. I live in Kyotanabe city next to Kyoto city. I want guests to enjoy Kyoto by seeing and experiencing not only from outside but also from inside. I offer various information from daily matters to traditional cultures. Most destinations in Kyoto are located on the eastern side or the western side. As I want to guide guests to as many destinations as possible, I make an efficient itinerary and recommend a taxi use to save time. Additionally, I take pictures at various spots and finally share the link to my storage. By doing so, guests can download their favorite pictures from my storage. Please enjoy Kyoto night and day!

We had exchanged messages beforehand through a messaging app, including the proposed itinerary, so the tour went smoothly. Since the guests mentioned that we shared several things in common, our communication was lively and we spent the time laughing and joking throughout. The guests were traveling around Japan and planned to return to Tokyo at the end of their trip, so they were checking out Tsukiji and the Kappabashi kitchenware district with a view to revisiting them later. As one of the guests was passionate about cooking, they were delighted to explore these areas.

What Is a Private Sapporo Walking Tour Like in Autumn? A Licensed Guide's Report Sapporo had seen snowfall a few days earlier, but the weather during the tour was relatively mild with almost no rain, and the guests were amazed by the autumn foliage. The guests traveled to and from Tokyo by train and were pleased to move around using public transportation. Since walking was difficult for the guests, I slowed the pace and guided them along a route that avoided stairs. The group was very close and full of curiosity, actively asking questions about history and culture, about the Ainu, and about present-day Japan. They listened with great interest to stories about the pioneering history of Hokkaido and the history of Japan as a whole. The hotel where the guests were staying had been changed to a different hotel, but since we had been in contact beforehand through a messaging app, there were no particular problems.

What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like for a First-Time Visitor? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guided a first-time visitor to Japan from Europe on a private one-day tour of Tokyo. The guest had been traveling around Japan for about three weeks together with other travelers from Europe, visiting Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto, and Mount Fuji, and this stay in Tokyo was the final part of the trip. The guest had admired Japan since childhood, and this visit was the fulfillment of a long-held dream. At Fukagawa Fudodo, the guest was surprised by the thunderous drumming and the rituals of the goma fire ceremony, and enjoyed the atmosphere of the old downtown area before moving on to Meiji Shrine. The guest remarked that it was hard to believe such a large, mature forest could be part of a huge metropolis. At a department store in Nihonbashi, the guest purchased lacquered chopsticks, and enjoyed a full and satisfying day.

What Can You Do on a Private Tokyo Day Tour to Akihabara and Sunshine City? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour was for a group visiting Japan. The weather was good, but rather than following a typical sightseeing course, it turned into a tour focused on shopping, playing, and scouting locations. In Akihabara, we scouted a cat cafe, went through every floor of the Taito game arcade trying various games, and looked at a traditional Japanese candy store. The group seemed dissatisfied with that candy store and wanted to go somewhere else, but I could not find another one right away, so we moved on to the next location. After viewing a garden, we headed to the Pokemon Center Mega Tokyo in Sunshine City, and a search revealed a candy store in the basement there, so we spent time shopping at those two places before I saw the group off at the Hotel to end the tour. I received a souvenir at the end.

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto History Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. They had already traveled to places such as Tokyo and Hakone, and for Kyoto they chose to visit locations where a guide could explain the history to them. At Nijo Castle there were a surprising number of school trip students, which made me a little worried, but we were unexpectedly able to go around while explaining things at a relaxed pace. Kinkaku-ji also had many school trip students, but by timing our visit well, I was able to explain things calmly. At Ginkaku-ji, in the falling rain, I was surprised to see congestion within the temple grounds caused by school trip students taking photos. The guests asked many questions, which made this a deeply rewarding tour to guide. I believe they enjoyed it.
