What Happens If a Guest Feels Ill During a Private Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The weather was good, but due to the guest feeling unwell, the tour schedule had to be changed and eventually cut short. After meeting, we purchased a Welcome Suica at JR Shinjuku Station and boarded the Shinjuku Line, but the guest began feeling sick and vomited on the train. We got off and rested for a while. Since the guest wished to continue the tour, we changed the destination from Tsukiji to Ueno Park, but the guest felt unwell again and vomited at Ueno Toshogu Shrine. On the way, as the guest wanted to visit at least Asakusa, they sat down and vomited again at Ueno Station. At that point we gave up on the tour and decided to return by taxi. We parted in front of the accommodation.

Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Arashiyama Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests today were a group visiting from North America. Initially they had requested sushi for lunch, so I consulted with the driver and prepared accordingly, but when we met in the morning they said they wanted to eat flour-based dishes such as yakisoba and okonomiyaki. I searched on Google and online, but could not find a restaurant open for lunch nearby, so we ended up eating at a restaurant around the Randen Arashiyama area. In the end we spent about two hours on lunch. Since they are heading to Osaka the next day, I told them they would be able to eat plenty of those dishes there.

What's a Private Day Tour of Tokyo Like, Visiting Asakusa, Shibuya, and Harajuku? A Licensed Guide's Report Originally, we had planned to visit Tokyo Skytree after Asakusa, but the guests had already been there the previous day, so we decided to go to Nintendo Tokyo in Shibuya instead. The group was visiting Japan for the fourth time from North America. In Asakusa, we enjoyed soft-serve ice cream and strawberry candy along Nakamise, and had fun drawing omikuji fortunes. After that, we went to Nintendo at Parco in Shibuya, but the English version of the Switch 2 was only sold online, which was a little disappointing. The Pokémon Center was very crowded even on a weekday, and since it would have taken about an hour to reach the register, the plan there was given up, and the Switch 2 was ordered online as a reward instead. The guests wanted to eat tempura, so we had lunch at a tempura restaurant in Parco. They said it was delicious. On Takeshita Street, they were delighted to get an item they had been collecting from gashapon machines. They were also happy after buying a bag and a phone case. At first I was a little worried about whether the tour would be enjoyable, but I believe everyone had a good time. The guests were very warm, and I felt they also had good discipline. The weather was very nice as well. The driver picked everyone up smoothly at each location, which was a great help.

What Can You See on an Early-Morning Private Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America, and this was their first time in Kyoto. They arrived in Japan in February. It was an early-morning tour starting at 7:00, and the group added two hours to the originally planned six-hour tour, opting for a Quick Lunch so we could arrange to visit as many places as possible. Since the tour involved young members of the group, we avoided crowded long-distance buses and traveled mainly by taxi. I took the guests to Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, Shimogamo Shrine, and Sanjusangendo. The guests all commented that Sanjusangendo was deeply moving. They were also impressed by Kinkaku-ji and the cliffside construction of Kiyomizu-dera. The weather was fine, some autumn foliage still remained, and I believe the early-morning tour allowed us to avoid much of the crowds, which was a real advantage.

**Title:** What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report **Body:** [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide welcomed the guests, visitors from North America, on the station platform by cheerfully waving a Hiroshima Toyo Carp flag. As I sensed a slightly quiet atmosphere between the guests at first, I gradually helped everyone relax by adding some light jokes along the way. It was a mild, sunny day, and although the autumn leaves were nearing their end, the guests were able to enjoy the natural beauty of Miyajima along with the songs of small birds. At the Atomic Bomb Museum, the guests seemed somewhat taken aback by exhibits that differ from what they might be accustomed to. It was a day that reminded me once again how important it is for a guide to adjust the way things are expressed in a gentle manner, according to each guest.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, I’ll change the plan according to your requests.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay connected.

    • (taxi)

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. The itinerary was as follows: meeting at the guests' lunch spot → the Bamboo Grove Path in Arashiyama → Kinkaku-ji → Nijo Castle → Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka up to the Nio-mon Gate of Kiyomizu-dera → back to Ninen-zaka for a sweets break → Fushimi Inari Taisha → the Hotel. The guests spoke to me actively, asking how to say various English words in Japanese, and in turn taught me some Tamil. Along the way, the guests asked a variety of questions, such as about tuition and the educational environment of public versus private schools, the background of using the three writing systems of hiragana, katakana, and kanji, how the Tokugawa clan came to establish its shogunate in Edo, the reasons for moving the capital to Tokyo, and the role of the Emperor throughout history. Incidentally, the reason we headed toward Kiyomizu-dera in the late afternoon was a request to see the sunset. I had planned to view it from the Kiyomizu-dera area at the 16:45 sunset time, but this overlapped with a request for sweets and some time constraints. So, after going as far as the Nio-mon Gate of Kiyomizu-dera to watch the sunset, we did not enter the grounds but instead returned to Ninen-zaka for a sweets break, which the guests were ultimately very satisfied with. The most moving moment of the day was Fushimi Inari Taisha lit up in the darkness. The magical sight of the Senbon Torii faintly illuminated by lanterns led the guests to say that it made coming to Kyoto worthwhile.

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Just before the tour, the guests informed me that their arrival at the hotel might be delayed, so we decided to push back the start time by 30 minutes. We were able to meet up without any trouble around 10:20, and after the guests purchased a PASMO at Asakusa Station, we set off. At Nezu Shrine, the ginkgo leaves fluttering in the wind were beautiful, and the guests seemed very pleased. The sushi restaurant I introduced in Tsukiji was also well received. Although we arrived at Koishikawa Korakuen in the latter half of the day, closer to the evening, we still had plenty of time to stroll through the garden. The guests were planning to visit Nikko the following day and requested that I show them where to catch the train, so at the end I took them to Tobu Asakusa Station before concluding the tour.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

Title: What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Afternoon Tour of Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. Although we had been unable to make contact until the day before, they reached out via a messaging app. They expressed a wish to visit Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, Nijo Castle, and Nishiki Market, and possibly other places if time allowed, which was not realistic within four hours. In the end, we resolved this by covering Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, and Nishiki Market on the tour, and I recommended that they visit Nijo Castle and Kiyomizu-dera on their own during the special nighttime illuminations. During their stay in Kyoto, they spent one day on a day trip to Nara and another day touring Byodo-in and the sake breweries of Fushimi, so in fact this afternoon tour was their only sightseeing focused on central Kyoto.

Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Nihondaira and Shizuoka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour began with a successful meeting at Shizuoka Station, from where we took a shuttle bus to the Nihondaira Hotel. The guests were a group visiting from South America, with one of them translating my English into their language throughout the tour. They were very close, and both preferred plant-based meals out of consideration for the environment. At the Nihondaira Hotel, we enjoyed tea at the café while Mount Fuji was clearly visible across the entire window, and we chatted while looking down over Shimizu Port and Suruga Bay. We were fortunate to have such good weather. After relaxing on the lawn outside, we walked to the Tea Museum and the Yume Terrace, where Mount Fuji was again beautifully visible. On the way back, we took a local bus from the ropeway entrance to Shizuoka Station and had lunch at a curry restaurant near the station that offered a plant-based menu. At the request of one of the guests, we walked to Sunpu Park to see the garden. The autumn leaves were very beautiful, and to our surprise, "October cherry blossoms" were also in bloom on the way back. Just before reaching the station, I explained how to purchase Shinkansen tickets to Tokyo before saying goodbye.

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Western Kyoto Today's guests were a group visiting from North America. They arrived in Kyoto at 9:00 the previous night and planned to visit popular spots in western Kyoto today and the eastern area the next day. They had come hoping to enjoy the autumn foliage, and although more than half of the leaves at Ryoanji Temple and the Sagano-Arashiyama area had already fallen, which they found a little disappointing, some foliage still remained at Kinkakuji Temple, where they took many photos. They mentioned that their hometown and Kyoto have a similar climate, and that they were enjoying their trip in Japan.
