    Title: What Is a Private Fukuoka Food and History Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from Oceania, on their second trip to Japan. On this trip they traveled through Hakodate and Nagano before reaching Fukuoka, and planned to continue to another destination in Asia for about a week afterward. Since they wanted to eat ramen, I took them to a traditional Hakata ramen shop. One of the guests had been studying Japanese as a hobby and was delighted to recognize and read some of the hiragana and katakana they saw. Another was interested in Japanese tea. They planned to fly to another destination in Asia from Fukuoka Airport, but before that they intended to try fluffy pancakes. The guests thoroughly enjoyed Japanese food, history, and scenery.

    What's a Half-Day Private Tour of Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today I guided a group visiting from North America. Since I had prepared a greeting in French, I opened the tour with a few words in French, but as the guests spoke French very fluently, I honestly explained that I could only manage a simple greeting. Fortunately, the weather today was mild and pleasant, without harsh cold, making it a comfortable half-day tour throughout. At the Peace Memorial Park, the guests were able to take their time and view each monument at a leisurely pace. In addition, since they kindly agreed to use a taxi, we were also able to visit Hiroshima Castle and Shukkeien Garden, making for a full and rewarding itinerary.

    Title: Can You Do a Private Day Trip to Hakone from Odawara? A Licensed Guide's Report on Owakudani, Lake Ashi, and Hakone Shrine The guests were visitors from North America. This was their first time in Japan. Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.) guide led a private one-day tour of Hakone for the group, who were traveling for a trip that included Japan followed by another destination in Asia. The group arrived in Japan several days earlier, spent time in Tokyo, and moved to Hakone this morning. From Hakone they planned to continue to Kyoto via Odawara, stay in Kyoto, and then fly onward from Kansai Airport. For Hakone, the guests expressed a wish to see not only urban Japan but also the countryside, and to enjoy the hot springs. Their top request was a view of Mount Fuji. Although the weather was clear, clouds gathered, and unfortunately we were not able to see Mount Fuji. The guests traveled from Tokyo this morning, and we met at Odawara Station. First, we took the Hakone Tozan Railway from Odawara Station to Hakone-Yumoto Station. The guests were very keen to ride a ropeway, but since the Sounzan–Owakudani ropeway was closed for scheduled maintenance, we first took the Hakone Tozan Bus to Togendai, and from there took the ropeway to Owakudani. I explained the origins of Hakone and gave an overview of the history of Owakudani. The guests asked questions such as "When were the volcanoes of Hakone formed?", "Is Owakudani an active volcano? Has it ever erupted?", and "Is Mount Fuji also an active volcano?" They purchased and tasted the famous "black eggs," and also bought cookies as a souvenir. From here we returned to Togendai and, after a short wait, boarded the "pirate ship" sightseeing boat. It was full of tourists inside. The guests asked questions such as "How deep is Lake Ashi? What is the water temperature?", "Can you swim in it?", and "Can you fish there?" We disembarked at Hakone-Motohako Port and walked to Hakone Shrine, where I explained the history of the shrine. We went to the main hall and to the torii gate standing over the lake. As always, there was a long line of tourists waiting to take photos, so we had no choice but to take our commemorative photo from the side. In front of the torii, the guests asked why so many people were lining up to take photos. We returned to Hakone-Motohako Port, transferred between the Hakone Tozan Bus and Railway, and went to the Hakone Open-Air Museum. I explained the origins of the "Open-Air Museum," and we made a quick loop through the grounds. After this, the guests wished to stroll through the shopping street of Hakone-Yumoto, so we went together to Hakone-Yumoto Station. The guests commented that "Japan is clean everywhere in its towns," "It feels safe and secure," "There are too many people in Tokyo," and "Meiji Shrine felt like an oasis in the middle of the city, and it was very impressive." We parted ways at Hakone-Yumoto Station.

    Self-introduction:
    In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
    Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
    I am a certified CPA in the United States.
    In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
    Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
    My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
    Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
    One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

    Title: What's a Private Full-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report This private tour of Tokyo was arranged through a travel agency. Before meeting on the day, it was not possible to confirm the guests' wishes directly, which caused some concern. We met as planned in the lobby of the Hotel and started smoothly. When I explained the prepared itinerary and the plan to finish in Shibuya, the guests requested to be taken back to their accommodation. I therefore moved the itinerary along a little ahead of schedule, and as a result we finished in Shibuya. Some of the guests wanted to spend time shopping at Onitsuka Tiger, while others needed time to shop at PARCO and wished to continue shopping at the Pokemon Center, so the guests chose to conclude the tour a little earlier.

    I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter at an age of 61.
    I got an early retirement from 36 yrs of the employment in a Japanese financial sector.

    What do I love?

    What Is a Private Kyoto Tour of Kiyomizu-dera, Sanjusangendo, and Fushimi Inari Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, and it was their first time in Japan. I took them to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Sanjusangendo, and Fushimi Inari Shrine. The tour was originally scheduled to start at 11:30, but to avoid the crowds as much as possible, we moved the start time three hours earlier and began at 8:30. At Kiyomizu-dera, we were able to visit before it became too crowded. The weather was not too cold, and the clear skies made for a pleasant tour. I walked as slowly as possible and paid careful attention throughout. Since one of the guests was not very comfortable with English, I made sure to include some Spanish in my explanations. The guests especially enjoyed Sanjusangendo. After visiting Fushimi Inari, they mentioned they wanted to buy some souvenirs, so I introduced them to a shop selling Uji tea and Japanese sake, where they purchased matcha and sake. They seemed very satisfied to be able to buy souvenirs that felt distinctly of Kyoto. I was glad they made the trip all the way from Osaka.

    Title: What Is a Private Osaka Castle and Okonomiyaki Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan from Europe in connection with an academic conference held in Shizuoka. They came down from Osaka Castle much earlier than we had planned. They had already visited Himeji Castle, and I think they may have been a little disappointed by the difference inside. Osaka Castle is a magnificent castle on the outside, but inside it is essentially a museum. There are many exhibits on display, but it seemed to be different from what they had expected. However, thanks to leaving Osaka Castle early, we were able to enter the okonomiyaki restaurant for lunch before noon, and it was good that the seats were still open. One of the guests was quite athletic and enjoyed playing tennis, and rather than using the escalator, they ran up the stairs. English was a little difficult to follow at times, but I could sense their genuine interest in Japanese culture and history. The photo was taken at Osaka Castle.

    Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Shopping and Sightseeing Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They had already enjoyed skiing in Hokkaido before coming to Tokyo, and after their stay they planned to head to Osaka. Some of the guests had made a short stay in Tokyo in February, but this trip had been planned with the interests of the group in mind, so the destinations in the city were chosen mainly to match their wishes. We started from Toyosu, near the hotel located in Maihama, and took the "Yurikamome" line to enjoy the scenery of the Tokyo waterfront. After that, at the request of some of the guests, we headed to the Tsukiji Outer Market. They were delighted to finally eat fresh salmon, tuna, and oysters, which they had been looking forward to. Next, at Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, they bought many Japanese souvenirs along Nakamise Street, and at Don Quijote they searched for desired items while making video calls with others in their group. At their request, we also stopped by Akihabara, where the guests spent their time eagerly searching for the items they wanted. They seemed to wish they could stay longer to look around more, but they reluctantly moved on to the next stop, Harajuku. Here too the focus was on shopping, and in the end they even purchased a new suitcase, making it quite a shopping-oriented tour. Since they had a reservation at a restaurant in Shibuya for dinner, I guided them to the location and ended the tour there.

    What Is a Private Fukuoka Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shofukuji and Nanzoin The guests were a group visiting from North America. They were a truly wonderful group. Having visited Japan two years ago and enjoyed it, they returned for another trip, planning to stay for about a month. They very much liked Shofukuji Temple, which was very quiet. Since it is a little off the main street, there were hardly any tourists, so they could spend their time in a relaxed way. As Nanzoin Temple is less crowded in the afternoon, we visited there in the afternoon. Some of the guests had become fond of Japan and were gradually studying Japanese, and they were delighted whenever they found kanji characters they could read. As souvenirs, they purchased postcards and Hakata dolls.

    What's a Private Winter Walking Tour of Sapporo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report After a heavy snowfall a few days earlier, the snow had melted during a warm spell and then frozen again on a cold day, leaving sidewalks extremely slippery throughout the area. I advised the guests to take great care, and fortunately they walked cautiously and were able to get through the whole tour without a single fall. One of the guests seemed particularly delighted by the snowy scenery and was very eager to walk on the snow. The view from the Okurayama Observatory was wonderful, with clear weather and hardly any wind, so the guests thoroughly enjoyed the scenery of Sapporo. At the end, since there was a request to have ramen for lunch in Sapporo, I guided the group to Tanukikoji, where many ramen shops line the street, and the tour concluded there.
