    What Can You See on a Private Cruise Ship Day Tour of Kobe? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were the group visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. After meeting at the Kobe Port Terminal, we visited the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden and the Kitano Ijinkan foreign residences area, took a break at a coffee shop, and then went on to visit Ikuta Shrine, Sorakuen Garden, and Nankinmachi (Kobe Chinatown). We then saw the guests off at the shuttle bus stop near Nankinmachi, bringing the tour to a close. Today there were four cruise ships docked at the Port of Kobe, which made for a lively atmosphere. The weather was also fine, so we were able to enjoy the tour comfortably. The coffee shop where we took our break was also well received by the guests, and I think it turned out to be a very good tour.

    What's a Private One-Day Tour of Northwest Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe. As their stay in Kyoto was short, I focused the tour on the northwestern part of Kyoto. They walked at a quick pace, so in addition to the three sites originally planned, I also guided them to Nijo Castle and Kurumazaki Shrine, where early-blooming cherry blossoms could be seen. The additions were agreed upon by the guests, and they were very pleased. The weather was cold, so toward the end they appeared a little tired, but since they wanted to do some shopping after the tour, we ended the tour at Shijo-Karasuma. We used a taxi to travel from Ryoanji Temple to Arashiyama.

    What Is a Private Naoshima Art Island Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. On the day of the tour, they got off at the wrong station on the JR line traveling from Okayama to Uno, and because of the ferry connection, the start of the tour was delayed by about two hours. As soon as we met, they apologized. During that time I waited at the Naoshima ferry terminal and spent the time reviewing materials. As a result of the delay, we ended up skipping the Art House Project that had originally been planned. Fortunately, the Chichu Art Museum, which had a fixed reservation time, did not need to be changed. After the Chichu Art Museum, we were able to proceed according to the original itinerary. This was their first visit to Japan, staying in March. Their destinations included Tokyo, Hakone, Osaka, Kyoto, Naoshima, and back to Tokyo. During our conversation, they mentioned that a proposal had taken place at Mount Fuji, so I understood that a proposal had been made during their trip to Hakone. When I offered congratulations, they were delighted. It was a fresh experience to have the opportunity to guide them, and it seemed that the guests thoroughly enjoyed Naoshima.

    What's a Private Day Tour of Osaka from a Cruise Ship Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today I guided a group who arrived by cruise ship. They had already visited destinations in Asia as well as Tokyo, Nagasaki, Shimizu, Hiroshima, and Kyoto. They were interested in culture and history and listened very attentively to my explanations. Although it was not yet peak season, I was surprised at how crowded both Osaka Castle and Dotonbori were. They enjoyed the okonomiyaki we had for lunch. Afterwards we headed to Sumiyoshi Taisha, which was not too crowded and was very pleasant. It was a rather chilly day, but I believe the guests enjoyed themselves.

    What Is a Private Family Tour in Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. Until the day of the tour I had been concerned because I could not reach them by email or messaging app, but since the meeting point had been provided in detail, I decided to go straight to the meeting place. We met up without any trouble, and after confirming their preferred destinations for the tour, we got started. One of the guests seemed to have some knowledge of Buddhism. Taking into account the places the guests planned to visit on their own in the afternoon, I had been thinking about where to end the tour, but it was quite cold that day and they wanted to go to a ramen shop near their hotel, so I guided them there and the tour concluded.

After sightseeing in Tokyo and Kamakura, they were planning to go on a cruise tour lasting 13 days starting in March.     Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Tour Like for a Multi-Generational Group With Limited Mobility? A Licensed Guide's Report Body: The guests were a group visiting from Europe, arriving in Japan for the first time as the final destination of a cruise. Their itinerary had taken them through Asia, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea, before reaching the Port of Osaka (from which they also visited Kyoto) and finally the Port of Tokyo, after which they were scheduled to return home two days later. The members of the group all lived near one another back home. At Meiji Shrine, some of the guests happened to run into a relative who was traveling in Japan for two months, and there was a joyful surprise as they took commemorative photos together. Of the six participants on this tour, three used walking canes, and one relied on canes in both hands, using a step to board and alight from the vehicle, walking at nearly one-fifth of the usual pace. At pedestrian crossings, we could not cross in one go, so wherever there was a central island, we paused there to rest. The group was warm and considerate toward one another throughout the tour. At the same time, some of the guests were eager to see as much as possible, so at certain locations we split into two smaller groups. After paying respects at the main hall of Meiji Shrine, while I guided the more active guests to the sake barrels and the second torii gate, the others headed ahead to the parking area and browsed for souvenirs at the shop there. At Senso-ji, while the group with limited mobility took a coffee break at the Starbucks near Kaminarimon Gate, I guided the two more active guests to see the main hall and the five-story pagoda. For lunch, I recommended Aoi Marushin near Kaminarimon in Asakusa, as a place where the group could all sit together and avoid using stairs. Everyone ordered the premium tempura set, and even the eldest guest ate heartily. From the vehicle, the guests were able to see various sights including the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. Meanwhile, some of the guests gathered information for the remaining two days they would spend in Tokyo. Based on their interests, I answered questions about a sushi restaurant, Shinjuku Gyoen for cherry blossom viewing, and a visit to Mishima to see Mount Fuji combined with a shinkansen experience.

    • 9:00 Meet. After the explanation of Kamakura, depart Minato Mirai at 9:34, arrive at Hase at 10:21. Sightseeing at Goryo Shrine, Hasedera Temple, and the Great Buddha of Kamakura. Depart Hase at 13:23 and arrive at Yokohama at 14:02.
    • Since the Minato Mirai Line is suspended due to a power outage, board a taxi at Yokohama Station. Dismissed at 14:30.

    What Is a Private Kamakura Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report At the start, the guests listened with great interest and enthusiasm to explanations about Kamakura, the shogun, the emperor, Buddhism, and Shinto. Along the Enoden railway line on the way to Goryo Shrine, I introduced a spot where residents cross the tracks to reach the entrances of their homes, which surprised the guests. At Goryo Shrine, we practiced the proper way to pay respects. At Hasedera Temple, the guests admired the compactly arranged garden, and at the Great Buddha they were satisfied by its impressive size. Since they did not have a meal, I assume they may not have been feeling their best, but they responded cheerfully throughout. When we arrived in Yokohama, we encountered a service suspension on the Minatomirai Line due to a power outage. Regrettably, the guests had to return by taxi.

    What Is a Private Osaka Tour to Sumiyoshi Taisha and Kuromon Market Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were from Oceania and moved around smoothly throughout the day. One of the guests had visited Japan several times before, and the guests took many photos at each spot. At Sumiyoshi Taisha, the guests experienced offering a prayer, picked up the small stones from the popular "Go-Dai-Riki" spot, and purchased a small amulet pouch. At Kuromon Market, the guests enjoyed sampling takoyaki, fatty tuna (toro), Japanese pickles, and sake. I presented a handmade drawstring pouch made by my sister, which the guests were very pleased to receive. Note) While heading to Sumiyoshi Taisha on the Nankai train, due to my carelessness (I was operating my mobile phone), we rode past by two stations, which inconvenienced the guests, and I felt very sorry about it. I will be sure to pay closer attention in the future.

    This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
    I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
