What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The hotel pickup was scheduled for 8:30, but the guests were delayed, so the pickup ended up being around 9:10. I was relieved once the guests arrived, and we set off. They apologized repeatedly, explaining that they had overslept. The guests were visitors from Europe. While they enjoyed beautiful scenery, they did not seem interested in being in the photos themselves, and I only took two pictures of them. However, they were cooperative with photos taken for uploading and consented to PR use. Since we were short on time toward the end, I took them to Nishiki Market and parted ways at the entrance of Takakura Street. Overall, they seemed to have a very enjoyable time.

What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America, visiting Japan for the first time. This was a shorter tour of about 4 hours, during which I took them to Arashiyama and Kinkaku-ji, and finally to Nijo Castle before saying goodbye. As it was a Sunday holiday, both Arashiyama and Kinkaku-ji were quite crowded, but the weather was perfect for walking. Although Kinkaku-ji was busy, the guests seemed genuinely impressed by it. At Nijo Castle, the final stop of the tour, I gave a brief explanation of the key points to look for during the visit.

What Can You See on a Full-Day Private Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time and staying for an extended trip. Since it was their first visit to Japan, they left the route up to me, so I chose the itinerary above with accessibility in mind and proceeded with the tour as planned. They seemed interested in Japanese crafts, and along the approach to Kiyomizu they purchased a folding fan, a teacup, and a gourd, and enjoyed eating nama-yatsuhashi, which they found delicious. At each destination they took many photos, but they were especially moved by the statues at Sanjusangen-do, letting out sounds of admiration. At Fushimi Inari, we happened to encounter a ceremony conducted by several Shinto priests. In Gion, there was a question about whether geisha were an entertainment show, so I explained that although the number of geisha has decreased considerably, it is a traditional profession that has been passed down, in which trained performers present classical dance.

Title: What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Family Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama, Kiyomizu-dera, and Nishiki Market The guests were a family group from North America. The day was very cold and windy, and there was even light rain when we arrived at the Monkey Park, but the whole group cheerfully climbed the mountain and enjoyed feeding the wild monkeys. In Arashiyama, the guests took interest in the shops along the street and enjoyed baby castella at a Rilakkuma store. On Teramachi Street, some of the guests browsed a brand-name secondhand shop, while others purchased brandy at the "Museum of Liquor." At Nishiki Market, they bought strawberry candy and honey from Sugi Bee Garden and seemed very satisfied. At Kiyomizu-dera, the guests listened with great interest to the explanation about the historical record of 234 people who actually jumped from the stage and about the "kakezukuri" cantilevered construction. It was a bright and close-knit group, and I truly enjoyed guiding them. I have also been informed that the guests kindly wrote a review via chat after the tour, so I would appreciate it if you could take a look.

Hello! My name is Umi. I was born and raised in Kyoto, and I still live here today.

I have always loved traveling. When I visit another country, I enjoy learning about its history, culture, and way of life from local people. Talking with locals helps me understand a place much better than simply visiting famous sights. That’s why I became a tour guide.

Through my tours, I hope to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of Japan. In addition to its beauty and traditions, I am also happy to talk about modern life in Japan. My goal is for my guests to leave Japan with wonderful memories and a deeper appreciation of the country.

I’m looking forward to meeting you!

Title: What's a Private Winter Walking Tour of Nagano's Zenkoji Temple Like? A Licensed Guide's Report For this private tour of Nagano City on a day of light snowfall, I chose a route that minimized walking time, since the cold weather made walking around outside chilly. From Nagano Station, we took a bus and got off at Zenkoji Daimon. After visiting Zenkoji Temple, we went to the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum, and then visited the Yoshinoya Sake Brewery. The guest found the Okaidan-meguri (the passage beneath the main hall) at Zenkoji Temple to be a very unique experience and seemed deeply impressed by its long history. The guest was already familiar with the artist Kaii Higashiyama and was captivated by the exhibits at the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum. At the sake tasting, the guest was delighted to choose a favorite Junmai Ginjo sake.

What Is a Private Hakone Golden Route Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The day began with a perfectly clear, cloudless sky from the morning. I met the guests at a Hotel and we headed to Moto-Hakone. After taking commemorative photos with Mount Fuji in the background, we boarded the pirate ship. Since our course followed the Hakone Golden Route in reverse, there was not much waiting time even though it was a Saturday. At Owakudani we bought the black eggs and some souvenirs, and after arriving in Gora we had lunch at a stylish cafe restaurant. Though small, it was very comfortable, and after relaxing there we enjoyed a matcha tea experience at Gora Park and visited the Hakone Open-Air Museum, concluding the tour for the day. With the clear skies, the photos came out beautifully, and it was a day the guests thoroughly enjoyed.

Some of the guests took many photographs, enjoying picture-taking during the Matsushima Bay cruise and of course at Zuiganji Entsuin Temple. The red and white plum blossoms and the camellias were all in full bloom, which delighted them greatly. I explained the differences between Buddhism and Shinto, as well as the damage and recovery situation from the Great East Japan Earthquake. Title: What Is a Private Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors to Japan on a trip. The tour was originally scheduled for one date in February, and we had exchanged messages to finalize the itinerary, but the day before, it was suddenly changed to a date in March. It seems there had been a mix-up of about a month. The tour was still possible after the change, so we carried out the planned itinerary. The guests were very much looking forward to dinner that evening, where they would enjoy Kyoto kaiseki cuisine at a Michelin-starred restaurant. After the tour, I was delighted to find a message from the guests in the message section of the site, saying, "Emi has been top! She has been a super guise (guide?)." I replied, "Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback!" It truly made me happy that they enjoyed themselves.

As it was the day after their arrival following a long flight, some of the guests appeared tired, while others enjoyed the tour with great energy. What Is a Private History and Culture Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a visitor from North America who had been to Japan once before as a child but was returning to the country for the first time since then, joining the tour on their own. I had heard in advance that the guest wanted to learn about history and culture, and the guest seemed very interested in the tour content I recommended and guided them through. There were moments when the guest asked questions about historical background and dates, which made guiding truly rewarding. The guest also mentioned that several places such as Ueno were ones they had visited as a child, and spoke of them with a sense of nostalgia. From beginning to end, the guest appeared to enjoy the tour thoroughly. I am grateful for the opportunity to have met such a wonderful guest.

Hello, I’m Miho Ozawa, and I’ve been working as a government licenced guide interpreter for six years in Tokyo. I live in east Tokyo with my family, including my three children, and I love art, gardens, photography and traveling.
It’s such a pleasure to explore this fascinating city Tokyo with you. There are so many things you can do, although sometimes it’s hard to choose what to do within a limited time. I would really appreciate if you could let me know what you would like to do or where you would like to visit in Tokyo. I would be happy to help you plan to make your trip a memorable one. I’m forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon!
