What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Ueno, and Meiji Shrine I guided a lovely group visiting from North America. They mentioned with a laugh that the wedding dress worn earlier had weighed as much as 20 kg, which was quite heavy. Because they run a business, they joked that they had no paid vacation, and so they wanted to see as much as possible. As a result, they didn't spend much time shopping, took photos only in moderation, walked very quickly, and cleared each planned location smoothly — almost too smoothly. We reached Asakusa and Ueno Park without any rain, but just as we arrived at Tokyo Station, it began to rain. At Kitanomaru Park, because of the rain there were no university students in hakama taking commemorative photos; we only saw many of them walking between the venue and Kudanshita Station. One of the guests asked again why the back of the women's hakama outfits appears puffed up — it must seem curious to visitors. I offered, "Would you like to take a commemorative photo with them? If so, I can ask them," but they replied, "No, that's alright," so it seemed they weren't especially interested this time. They didn't seem very accustomed to the cold, so perhaps the chill from the rain had an effect. For lunch, they wanted ramen, so we went to Ippudo at Harakado. Unlike other spots, this one is usually not so crowded, which is why I chose it, and it was the right call. They said it was delicious and drank up all the soup, and as they warmed up we were able to have a fun conversation about their home region and languages, making for a very pleasant lunchtime. Finally, we walked around Meiji Shrine, and when the guests took another photo in front of the wine barrels, they kindly said, "I'll tell my friends about you and share the photos too." Before heading to Takeshita Street at the end, we took a short break at a cafe and continued the various conversations we couldn't finish at lunch, which was another wonderful moment. I think it would have been even more enjoyable without the rain and with a bit more warmth, but at the end they said, "We'll come back to Tokyo on April 1st, and we hope to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom then. We'd like to visit Chidorigafuchi once more," and "Today was a great day." We parted ways at the entrance to Takeshita Street.

Nice to meet you. I am delighted to introduce myself. My nickname is Danda. I live in Saitama prefecture next to Tokyo, but I was brought up in Kanazawa, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. My favorite things are bonsai and hiking. Also, I have been a big fun of history and sumo since my childhood. As for the guide, I have enjoyed making communication with foreign visitors since 2019. I have taken more than 30 private groups to not only major scenic spots but also their favorite places such as tea ceremony, maid cafe, sumo tournament, bonsai village, fire ritual and so on. I can arrange the original tour based on your requests and curiosity. It will be only for you. I look forward to meeting you soon. Thank you.

What Is a Private Hiroshima Tour Like in Cherry Blossom Season? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided a group visiting from North America. The tour took place under a light rain that gently swayed the cherry blossoms just beginning to bloom, making for a calm and relaxed day. As a prior request, the guests had asked to purchase souvenirs at the Pokémon Center in Hiroshima Station and to arrange dinner to enjoy on the Shinkansen, both of which I incorporated into the itinerary. One of the guests was fluent in Japanese, and since there was a shared connection to fishing—my own family has ties to octopus fishing—the conversation was lively, and we were able to spend a warm and relaxed time together throughout.

Title: What Is a Private Kobe Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a solo traveler visiting from North America who had been to Japan several times before for both business and sightseeing, and I felt they had a considerable amount of knowledge about Japan. We visited the Nunobiki Herb Garden and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, but the guest seemed to be interested more in architectural structures themselves than in the spots as such. When I explained that "Nankinmachi" Chinatown is one of Japan's three great Chinatowns, the other two being in Yokohama and Nagasaki, the guest was delighted, saying, "With this visit I have now been to all three of the great Chinatowns." The guest also seemed very interested in Japanese-made wristwatches, and visited a specialty shop on "Sannomiya Center Gai," looking at the items with great enthusiasm. Since the guest wished to visit this shop again personally along with lunch before returning to Osaka, we parted ways with about 30 minutes remaining.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.

What Is a Private Fukuoka and Hakata Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. They listened very attentively to my explanations, which made me very happy. Although it rained, they showed interest in many different things. One of the guests seemed to have trouble with their knee and found going up and down stairs difficult. I noticed this at Nanzoin Temple, so from then on I made sure to use slopes and elevators as much as possible. We returned to Hakata Station close to noon, but since they were not very hungry, I recommended taiyaki at the taiyaki shop in Ming at Hakata Station. They had stayed in another city in Japan for a while but had not tried taiyaki, so they were delighted to find it unusual and delicious. After a short rest, we toured the old town of Hakata, though it felt a little cold. Since we were able to board the train without any waiting time, we went slightly over the planned time but were able to take our time exploring. I arranged a taxi at Kushida Shrine and ended the tour.

What Is a Private Sendai Temple and Shrine Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest came to Sendai and expressed an interest in visiting shrines and temples. They requested Rinno-ji and Shurin-ji, both of which they had never visited before, and enjoyed viewing the gardens and Buddhist statues as well as listening to a monk's talk. Along the approach leading from the Nio-mon gate to the main hall of Rinno-ji, we explored in depth the meaning of the mudras formed by the Buddhist statues, and in the garden we took a commemorative photo beneath fragrant blossoms with the plum flowers just beginning to bloom. At Shurin-ji, the guest was awed by the glossy black statue of Daikokuten with three faces and six arms. Over a lunch of tempura, soba, and a sushi set, the conversation flowed lively about the introduction of Buddhism to Japan and the history of how Japan acquired its writing system, and the tour concluded successfully after the guest shared that their understanding of Japanese history had deepened.

What Is a 4-Hour Private Osaka Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. For this 4-hour Osaka tour, I suggested places such as Osaka Castle and Dotonbori, but they said they would visit those on their own and wished to spend the guided tour at quieter, less crowded spots. At first, I had planned only Shitennoji Temple and Kuromon Market, but judging that we had time for one more location, we discussed it and settled on today's itinerary. I arranged for the tour to end at Kuromon Market, and since it was right around lunchtime and the guests had grown hungry, they ordered and enjoyed sushi, grilled Ise lobster, and freshly fried shrimp at the market. They said they would look around the market a little more on their own, so we parted ways at Kuromon Market. I believe they were satisfied.

I am an experienced guide, who live in Osaka. I have been a Government-Licensed Guide in English since 2018. I have already guided a lot of tourists overseas in Kansai Area, that is, in the vicinity of my prefecture, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Himeji. I am especially good at guiding in Kansai Area with sufficient knowledge of history, culture and transportation. I have guided people ranging from a small group of one or two to a group of 20-50 people in a big bus, that is, a coach. I like delicious food, because Osaka is a city of Kuidaorre, which means that people in Osaka love to eat and never spend too much money on food. Therefore, as an Osakan, I will do my best to explore restaurants which serve most delicious foods in wherever I take to my guests.

Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Aoyama, Shibuya, and Sushi The guests were visitors from Europe. One of them had been to Japan before but only for work and had never had the chance to sightsee, and although they had traveled all over the world, it had always been for work, going back and forth between the hotel and the workplace without any sightseeing. As we chatted throughout the tour, it turned out that one of the guests had an extraordinary background in motorsport, with many years of experience and even a major race victory. They kindly showed me many photos available online, as this was a person publicly recognized as a celebrity. I was amazed and deeply honored. They also mentioned that a younger family member is now racing as well, and shared some family photos on their smartphone. This visit to Japan also included work related to a Formula 1 race, and they planned to spend three days in Tokyo, followed by five days at the circuit area and four days in Kyoto. They told me their highest recorded speed had been 400 kilometers per hour, and that the sensation at that moment was almost like floating in mid-air. True to an athlete, the guests walked at such a fast pace that, for the first time, I had to trot to keep up. They were remarkably good walkers, and I was truly impressed. Thanks to that, we were able to move from place to place efficiently, and even though we had added a walk through Aoyama Cemetery at the start, we still had plenty of time to add a visit to Shibuya, which had not been in the original plan, before taking a bus back to Roppongi. For lunch, I guided them to Gransta Yaesu North, where one of the guests chose tempura, but since another wanted sushi, I guided them to a sushi restaurant in the basement. They enjoyed tekka rolls and three kinds of salmon. One of the guests was interested in matcha, and having heard it is good for health, purchased two bags of premium matcha along with a bamboo whisk and a bamboo scoop. At checkout, they also requested two wrapping bags, so I assumed they were gifts for friends, but in the end they presented them to me as their guide, which moved me greatly.

What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Kanazawa Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were friends from Europe traveling in Japan together. Because they requested a recommendation for a place to have dinner (a sushi restaurant) near Kanazawa Station, close to their hotel, I guided them at the start of the tour to a restaurant that happened to be in the middle of its preparations, and the reservation was completed. Since the local travel agency requested that all the major sightseeing spots be covered within the 4-hour tour, my approach was to introduce the main highlights on-site at Higashi Chaya District and Nagamachi and then recommend that the guests revisit them on their own later. However, since they wanted to visit the Shima teahouse in Higashi Chaya, we went over time, and the tour ended at the entrance of the samurai residence area in Nagamachi. The guests enjoyed themselves.

Ishikawa in Half a Day: Kanazawa Soshi & Myoryuji Temple

    Tour Itinerary

    • 9:30 Kanazawa Soshi
    • 10:20~11:00 Nagamachi, Nomura Family Residence
    • 11:30~12:10 Myoryuji Temple
    • 12:20~1:30 Higashi Chaya District, Shima

Title: What Is a Private Kanazawa Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Myoryuji and Higashi Chaya The guests were a lovely group visiting Japan from Europe. One of them was studying a little Japanese and had a strong interest in history. They were interested in Japanese history, culture, and society, and asked many questions. They seemed to enjoy exploring places slowly and listened very attentively to the explanations. For that reason, the tour of Myoryuji Temple felt too fast-paced and was perhaps not ideal for them, as they wanted to take time to examine each detail carefully. Something I always feel is that Myoryuji is not very friendly and gives off an atmosphere of strictly enforced rules. They are especially strict about paying per group, and when I ask for a separate payment and receipt for just the guide, they show clear displeasure and say, "Payment is per group." I sometimes wonder if they take their popularity for granted. In the future, for guests who are willing to join the Myoryuji group tour on their own, I may suggest that approach. At the Higashi Chaya District there was not much time, and the only place I was able to guide them through was Shima, but they seemed to enjoy the teahouse architecture and geisha culture. They were smiling throughout and were a truly wonderful group. As we left Shima it was time to finish, and the tour came to an end.

What Is a Private One-Day Nagoya Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from Oceania. The day was blessed with fine weather, and the cherry blossoms had come into bloom at around 50 to 60 percent, reaching their best viewing period, so the guests enjoyed both visiting each site and admiring the cherry blossoms. Among the sites we visited, the guests particularly enjoyed the exhibits at Nagoya Castle, the Honmaru Palace, and the Nishinomaru Otenshu Castle Treasure Museum. At Tokugawaen, an early-blooming variety of cherry blossom was in full bloom, and the guests enjoyed viewing it. Since I heard that the guests would be staying in Nagoya for about a week, I wanted to cover as many sites as possible so they could get a good sense of the area, so I also guided them to the Sky Deck of Mirai Tower and the Osu Shopping Street. I was able to put together a tour of exactly six hours, which I offered to the guests.
