**What Can You See on a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Shibuya, Hamarikyu, and Asakusa** The weather was excellent, and the tour proceeded smoothly. At the request of the guests, I arranged a taxi, and the tour was extended by two hours. At Meiji Shrine, there were many weddings as well as Omiyamairi and Shichi-Go-San visits taking place. The guests took many photos and showed great interest. At Shibuya Crossing, we got out of the taxi to enjoy the sights, and they took many photos and videos. At Hamarikyu Gardens, they showed great interest in the garden's tea house and the shapes of the pine trees. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, it was close to closing time, so I could not guide them to the model of the castle keep, but they showed interest in the plants and the ruins of Edo Castle. By the time we reached Asakusa it was 5 o'clock, and the incense smoke had died down, but I was able to guide them through Asakusa at dusk. I saw them off at their requested location in Shinjuku, where the tour concluded. A notable stop on the tour was Hamarikyu Gardens. Hamarikyu is a traditional Japanese landscape garden located near Tokyo Bay, originally developed as a feudal lord's residence and duck-hunting grounds during the Edo period. It is especially known for its tidal pond, whose water level changes with the sea, as well as its historic tea house where visitors can enjoy matcha in a peaceful setting.

I had heard this was a sightseeing tour before boarding a cruise ship, so I knew there would be luggage, but when I met them at the Hotel I was surprised by just how much luggage there was. After consulting with the driver, we managed to load everything with some creativity and set off. I had planned several stops, but since there was a request to do some shopping, I adjusted the itinerary. First, I guided them to Meiji Shrine. They listened attentively to the story about the torii gates. By chance, we were able to see a bride ahead of her wedding ceremony, which was wonderful. They purchased several charms as souvenirs. After that, we headed to Shibuya and took photos at the Scramble Crossing. In Shibuya they bought souvenir chopsticks and had a light meal before heading to Asakusa. We saw Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise, shopped at the Don Quijote in Asakusa, and then departed for the harbor. We passed over the Rainbow Bridge and enjoyed the beautiful views of Tokyo's waterfront. We arrived at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal just before 15:00 as scheduled, and the tour ended. Thank you again for another wonderful encounter today.

# What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Flexible Itinerary Changes The guests were visiting from Europe. Although somewhat older than me, their family situation was quite similar to mine, which alone made our conversation lively. They had chosen Japan for a milestone anniversary trip, and it was their first visit to Japan. Their itinerary ran from Tokyo to Hakone, Hida-Takayama, Kanazawa, Hiroshima, and finally Kyoto. Recently I keep seeing this exact pattern. Today was the final day of a three-day holiday weekend, and there were many events around Kyoto, while temples were holding special viewings as well, so everywhere was crowded not only with international visitors but also with Japanese families and groups. In the earlier part of the itinerary, the guests were able to enjoy the quiet atmosphere, but as we moved into busier spots, just looking at the crowds seemed to tire them out. After buying a sharp Japanese knife as a souvenir on Sanjo-dori and having lunch at Nishiki Market, the plan was to climb Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka up to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. However, perhaps the crowds at Nishiki Market had been hard to bear, because when I explained again that we would next climb some stone steps and would once more be surrounded by crowds, I immediately received a "No thank you." So we changed the plan to Sanjusangendo. This turned out to be a great choice. Although there were still a fair number of visitors, the guests really liked the solemn atmosphere, and I was able to explain all sorts of things beyond the standard story of Sanjusangendo, staying enthusiastic right to the end. We said our goodbyes near Karasuma Oike Station. A notable stop on the tour was Sanjusangendo Temple. Sanjusangendo is a Buddhist temple in Kyoto famous for its long wooden hall, which is the longest of its kind in Japan. Inside, it houses 1,001 statues of Kannon, the Buddhist deity of mercy, including a large central seated figure flanked by rows of standing statues. The temple's name refers to the 33 spaces between the pillars of the main hall, and its quiet, dignified atmosphere makes it a popular destination for visitors seeking a more contemplative experience in Kyoto.

The shrine is surrounded by about 100,000 trees donated from across Japan when it was established in 1920, creating a peaceful, forest-like setting in the middle of the city. Visitors often pass through its large wooden torii gates and enjoy the serene walking paths leading to the main shrine buildings.

What's a Private One-Day Hakone Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Lake Ashi, Owakudani, and Hakone Shrine The guests were visiting Japan for the first time. This was part of a 14-day trip to Japan, and they had already visited Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. This morning they arrived in Odawara from the Kansai region. Tomorrow they plan to take a day trip from Hakone to view Mount Fuji, stay one more night in Hakone, then return to Tokyo and fly home. They told me, "We want to see Mount Fuji. We're also looking forward to the hot springs." Although the weather was clear, clouds extended over Mount Fuji, so we were unable to see it. We met at Odawara Station and first went by minivan to Choan-ji Temple. During the drive, I explained the history and characteristics of Hakone. At Choan-ji, we took a leisurely stroll while viewing the stone statues scattered across the mountain slope. There were questions such as "What is the difference between Buddhism and Shinto?", "What do the Buddhist statues mean?", and "About the graves." From there, we took the minivan to Sounzan, and then the ropeway to Owakudani. I explained "the formation of Hakone," "its history as a hot spring and summer retreat area," and "an overview and history of Owakudani." There were questions such as "Is Owakudani an active volcano? Has it ever erupted?" and "Is Mount Fuji also an active volcano? When did it erupt?" They purchased and tasted the "black eggs." We then took the ropeway to Togendai Port. After a short rest at the rest area, we boarded the Hakone Sightseeing Cruise. I explained "the history and current state of Lake Ashi." In a light drizzle and rather chilly air, we went up to the top observation deck. We arrived at Moto-Hakone Port. At their request for lunch, we went to Bakery & Table. After that, we went by minivan to Hakone Shrine. There were questions about "the history of Hakone Shrine" and "What is Shinto?" They also commented, "Everywhere in Japan, the towns are clean. There's no litter on the ground," and "Hakone has so much greenery; it feels calming." I saw them off by minivan to the Hotel, where the tour ended.

The guests seemed to be real enthusiasts of Japan, so much so that it was hard to believe this was their first visit. They had always had a strong interest in Asia, and they told me proudly that their garden at home features koi swimming in a pond and an object modeled after a torii gate, for which they had carefully considered even the vertical and horizontal proportions based on images. They were very knowledgeable about wood, and I realized that an amateur's knowledge alone was not enough. This time I managed by checking with the shop staff, but I felt that further preliminary research would be needed. They appeared to have traveled to many countries, and I did my best so that they would become repeat visitors to Japan.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Takayama Like During the Autumn Festival? A Licensed Guide's Report Originally, the Miyagawa Morning Market was not part of the tour itinerary, but since it was on the way, we stopped by and I gave a brief introduction to the shops. This was to help the guests, who had a free day the following day, make the most of sightseeing on their own. According to the plan, we were going to visit the Kusakabe Folk Museum, but the guests went up to it and said that entering was not necessary, so we skipped it. As it happened to be during the Takayama Festival, we went to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine and saw the festival floats being lined up. On the way to the Sanmachi-suji area afterward, we also saw floats being paraded in the procession, enjoyed a beer at a bar set up in a tent at the guests' request, and the guests bought nail clippers at a knife shop. In the Sanmachi-suji area, the guests enjoyed a tasting at the Harada Sake Brewery, and at the Takayama Jinya they listened with interest to explanations about its history. A notable stop on the tour was the Takayama Jinya. The Takayama Jinya is a historic government house that served as the administrative office during the Edo period, when the Hida region was placed under the direct control of the shogunate. It is the only surviving building of its kind in Japan and offers visitors a glimpse into the administration, taxation, and daily affairs of the era through its preserved rooms, offices, and storehouses.

Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were visitors from Europe who had come to Japan to celebrate a special occasion. They arrived from Kyoto on the Shinkansen reaching Hiroshima Station at 9:49, and after leaving their luggage at the Hotel, we met at the Hotel at 10:00. After enjoying a coffee together, we boarded the JR line and headed to Miyajima. They were a wonderful group who shared many stories with us, and they also enjoyed listening to my stories from when I traveled to London. During the tour we rode both the JR line and the streetcar, and since they had taken the Shinkansen in the morning, they cheerfully remarked that they had been able to ride trains of many different speeds today. A notable stop on the tour was Miyajima. Miyajima, officially known as Itsukushima, is a small island in Hiroshima Bay famous for Itsukushima Shrine and its iconic "floating" vermilion torii gate, which appears to rise from the sea at high tide. The shrine, with its history dating back centuries, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Japan's most scenic views. The island is also home to friendly wild deer that roam freely and the towering Mount Misen, which offers sweeping views over the Seto Inland Sea.

Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from the Middle East. Since they were coming from Osaka, we met at the easy-to-find JR Inari Station and started right away with a visit to Fushimi Inari Taisha. As requested, we went to Gion, where we explored Gion Shirakawa and Hanamikoji, and then, as it was a bit of a distance, we took a taxi to Nishiki Market. There, the guests selected and enjoyed two or three items they liked. From Karasuma we took the Hankyu line to Arashiyama, where we strolled around Togetsukyo Bridge, Tenryu-ji Temple, and the bamboo grove. From Arashiyama we took the Randen tram to Kitano-Hakubaicho, then a taxi to Kinkaku-ji. After touring Kinkaku-ji, I suggested we continue to Nijo Castle, but as one of the guests was feeling unwell and strongly wished to end the tour, we parted ways at Kinkaku-ji as the guests preferred. They were satisfied with the tour. A notable stop on the tour was Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion. Kinkaku-ji is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf, making it one of Japan's most iconic sights. Originally built in the late 14th century as a retirement villa for a shogun, it was later converted into a temple. The pavilion is set beside a reflecting pond, and the surrounding strolling garden is considered a fine example of the gardens of its era.

I am an experienced guide, who live in Osaka. I have been a Government-Licensed Guide in English since 2018. I have already guided a lot of tourists overseas in Kansai Area, that is, in the vicinity of my prefecture, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Himeji. I am especially good at guiding in Kansai Area with sufficient knowledge of history, culture and transportation. I have guided people ranging from a small group of one or two to a group of 20-50 people in a big bus, that is, a coach. I like delicious food, because Osaka is a city of Kuidaorre, which means that people in Osaka love to eat and never spend too much money on food. Therefore, as an Osakan, I will do my best to explore restaurants which serve most delicious foods in wherever I take to my guests.
