    What Does a Private Tokyo Sightseeing Tour with a Licensed Guide Include? A Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. After sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to travel to Takayama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, and Osaka. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with interest to historical explanations about the role of the Emperor, the Meiji Restoration, the Edo shogunate, and the shoguns. At Sensoji Temple, they were interested in explanations about the differences between temples and shrines, as well as the Kaminarimon Gate. In Akihabara, they did not show much interest in anime or games. Since the guests said they could return to the hotel on their own, I guided them to Ueno Park and we parted ways there. As I responded according to the guests' wishes, I believe they were satisfied.

    What Is a Private Osaka Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle and Umeda Sky Building I guided the guests visiting from North America. At Hokoku Shrine we prayed together, and at Osaka Castle I took photos of them at various spots where the castle looked beautiful. Inside the castle, one of the guests used a service to have their photo taken wearing a samurai helmet, and they were very satisfied with the result. The guests also showed interest in the tiger decorations and asked, "What kind of presence does the tiger have in Japan?" In addition to answering, I mentioned, "The Hanshin Tigers logo is said to have originated from this tiger at Osaka Castle," and they responded, "I knew it!" and were quite convinced. At the Umeda Sky Building, the guests were interested in the seaside views of Osaka and its many bridges. After taking a break at a café inside, since we had some time to spare, I guided them to a hidden spot at the Osaka Station building and also explained how to get to Hanshin Koshien Stadium, which the guests had mentioned they would like to visit if there was time. Finally, I saw them off at Osakajokoen Station, ending the tour.

    Title: What's a Private Shopping-Focused Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Ameyoko, and Meiji Shrine The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. It was a lively, cheerful, and very enjoyable tour. Since the guests were interested in shopping, we spent a longer time on Nakamise Street so they could browse a variety of souvenirs. Their main shopping target was Japanese-made denim, so I took them to Hihokiya, a specialty store for American casual wear in Ameyoko, where they enjoyed shopping for denim from the Momotaro brand from Okayama, which has become world-famous for its denim. There were many international visitors in the store, and I once again realized just how popular Okayama denim has become. At Meiji Shrine, the final stop, the guests were surprised to find such a quiet and solemn atmosphere right in the heart of the city. We concluded the tour at Meiji Shrine, and afterward I received a thank-you message; it seems the group went on to enjoy more shopping on Takeshita Street and Omotesando after their visit.

    Title: What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Kinkaku-ji, and Arashiyama The guests were a group visiting from North America. We started nearly 30 minutes behind schedule. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, the Omokaru-ishi stones were very crowded, so unfortunately the guests were not able to try lifting them, but they were able to pray at the Neagari no Matsu pine. We then moved on to Nishiki Market, where the guests had a meal that also served as lunch. They bought some souvenirs and seemed satisfied. At Kinkaku-ji, they seemed amazed by its beauty and gorgeousness. We went to the Bamboo Grove Path, where I gave an explanation about the bamboo forest. One of the guests had a nosebleed, which was startling, but it did not turn into anything serious and I was relieved. Since we still had a little time on the way back, thanks to the kindness of the driver we saw the Rakan statues and Togetsukyo Bridge before returning to the Hachijo exit of Kyoto Station.

    What's a Private Walking Tour of Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Shitennoji, and Namba The guests were visitors from North America. Following advice from a friend who had visited Japan before, they had hoped to see Osaka Castle, Shitennoji Temple, Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, and Dotonbori, but since they had already visited Dotonbori the previous day, we changed the plan to Namba Yasaka Shrine and Doguyasuji, exploring the streets of Osaka under a cloudless sky. One of the guests enjoyed the travel itself — walking, riding the subway, and taking the tram — while another, who loved photography, was delighted with the photos of them taken at each spot. I received a long thank-you message saying it had been "the best day," which gave me great joy as a guide. The following day, the guests planned to enjoy the Umeda Sky Building, Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, and Kobe beef.

    Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Tour with Kimono and Tea Ceremony Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour covered Tokyo sightseeing toward the end of the guests' vacation. Since they had already visited various places, they were very knowledgeable about history and culture and asked many questions. When we visited Rikugien Garden, there were still no other visitors, so I was able to guide them through the quiet grounds in peace. Because there was a kimono and tea ceremony experience starting at 12:30, the plan required keeping an eye on the time, but the guests cooperated and everything went smoothly. They were very pleased with the kimono experience. The guests wore yukata and kimono, adding decorative touches such as frills and obijime cords for a personalized arrangement. They both wore them beautifully, and the outfits stayed neat until the very end. Dressed in kimono, they walked around Sensoji Temple, took many photos, and we concluded the tour.

At Fushimi Inari, they were amazed by the sheer number of torii gates and small shrine mounds. Before heading to Kiyomizu-dera, we stopped by Yasaka Pagoda to take photos, and the guests seemed to love the atmosphere of this area, taking pictures again and again. At Kiyomizu-dera, they enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the green foliage, and again took many photos. At the "wet Kannon," I explained that by having the Kannon bathe in water on our behalf, we ask for the removal of our suffering and anxiety, so I told them to gently pour water over the Kannon's shoulders, and they actually tried it. When they saw people who came after them pouring water over the Kannon's head, they laughed and said that this way their suffering and anxiety would not be removed. They also tried the water at Otowa Waterfall. For their meal, they ordered tonkatsu and tendon, and said it was delicious. During the meal, one of the guests mentioned wanting to buy matcha, so I took them to a nearby tea shop where they purchased some. At Kinkaku-ji, they took many photos with the Golden Pavilion in the background. Since there was still a little time before heading directly back to the Hotel from Kinkaku-ji, I asked the driver to drop us off in front of Nijo Castle, which the guests were interested in, and we took photos there. The guests were delighted. It seemed that they enjoyed this tour.

    My name is Hiroki Muramoto, please call me Hiro.
    Hiro in Japanese means large or big. Although I’m neither large nor big, you can call me Hiro. How are you doing ?
    I lived in a city nearby Kobe city. Do you know Kobe ? Kobe is famous for Kobe beef and pearl. If you have not yet had Kobe beef, you should taste the authentic Kobe beef. It is very satisfying taste. But I have recently moved to a city in Kyoto prefecture, so I can be in Kyoto city in about one hour. By the way, I am a family of four. I have a son and a daughter. My son now works in Tokyo. I sometimes go to Tokyo to see him. Tokyo is a huge city, but too crowded, so it seems not to suit me. I seem to be better suited to a small city than a big one. Where do you live in ? How many families do you have ? If you like, please tell me about them. I worked in the quality assurance department of a pharmaceutical company and visited the factories of foreign affiliated companies, so I became interested in foreign cultures and obtained a qualification as an interpreter guide in 2015.

    I have been a guide for about eight years. During that time, I have guided in Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Kochi and so on, although I could do little guiding work between 2020 and 2022 due to COVID-19. However, since last year, my guiding work has been back! So, I am happy to be able to meet different people again. My hobby is travelling, but sadly, I am not in a position to travel abroad easily at the moment due to the very weak yen, and I hope to travel abroad again when the situation eases a bit more.
    How many countries have you been to so far ? Which countries have you liked so far? Another hobby is watching sports – baseball and football. Do you like the baseball ? Do you know Otani, Japanese baseball player ? He has joined Dodgers in Los Angeles this year. I look forward to another successful year for Otani.

    By the way, what interests you in Japan? Food, history, scenery ? As far as tourist attractions are concerned, famous places are too crowded. If you like, I also would like to show you some less crowded places. Are you interested in experiencing something ? If you want to experience something, I can suggest an experience plan for you. If so, please contact me as early as possible. As for food, what kind of food do you like? There are many kinds of delicious food. Of course, you can get good food in fine restaurants, but you can also get good food in downtown restaurants. If you like alcohol, why don’t you try Japanese sake? It can range from light and fragrant to rich in flavor, so you’re sure to find a Japanese sake you like.

    My motto is “Be content with life.” However, I find myself complaining all the time. If you like, please tell me your motto. I want to treat all guests who visit Japan with the spirit of “Treasure every encounter” and guide them so that they can enjoy themselves and have good memories of Japan.
