What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report from Owakudani to Lake Ashi The guests were a group visiting from Europe. It was their first trip to Japan. This trip was a stay of about two weeks in Japan. They arrived at Narita Airport several days ago, spent a few days in Tokyo, and then came to Hakone last night. After this, they would stay one more night in Hakone tonight, then take the Shinkansen to Kyoto tomorrow. They planned to sightsee in Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Okinawa, and then return to Tokyo before flying home. They expressed a wish to "visit Japan's old culture and rural towns," and said that "Tokyo is crowded and too busy." Due to bad weather since last night, the tour took place under mostly cloudy skies (with occasional light rain). Notices had been posted stating that the "ropeway may suspend operation" and that the "Hakone pirate ship is suspended due to heavy fog." First, we went from the Hotel to Gora Station via Hakone-Yumoto Station. Then we continued to Owakudani via Sounzan (at this point, the Hakone Ropeway was operating). I explained the "formation of Hakone" and "an overview and history of Owakudani." There were questions such as "Is Owakudani an active volcano? Has it ever erupted?" and "Is Mount Fuji also an active volcano? When did it last erupt?" They purchased and tasted the "black eggs," commenting that "the smell of sulfur is incredible." (At this point, there was an announcement that the "Hakone pirate ship" was "suspended.") With no other choice, we returned to Sounzan Station and Gora Station and headed to the "Hakone Open-Air Museum." (The guests had strongly wished to board the pirate ship.) Transferring on the Hakone Tozan Railway, we went to the Hakone Open-Air Museum. I explained "the origins and current state of the Open-Air Museum." We slowly walked around the grounds. They purchased a "towel" as a souvenir at the shop. They commented, "It is a very calm and beautiful garden," and "Some of the works on display can also be seen in other museums in Europe." We took the Hakone Tozan Bus to Motohakone Port. As they wanted lunch first, we went to "Bakery & Table." They sat down and had a leisurely lunch. They said, "This is the first time we have eaten bread since coming to Japan, and it is very delicious." After this, we went to Hakone Shrine. I explained "the history of Hakone Shrine." After paying respects at the main hall, we took commemorative photos from the side in front of the torii gate on the lake. When we returned to Motohakone Port, they spotted the "Hakone sightseeing boat" running and said, "We really want to board that boat." Upon checking, there was a plan for "about a 40-minute cruise around the lake." They requested, "We want to ride this boat and go around Lake Ashi." I agreed, saw them off as they boarded, and we parted ways. (Originally, we had planned to visit Amazake-chaya after this.) They also commented, "Everywhere in Japan, the towns are clean. There is no trash on the ground," and "Everyone is polite," adding, "But for me personally, Hakone suits me better than Tokyo."

    Self-introduction:
In the past, I was stationed in Canada, the United States, and Mexico as an expatriate of a Japanese bank for over 11 years.
Since I have been mainly involved in the financing business in the United States for a long time, I think I am able to provide interpretation and translation services related to business and finance.
I am a certified CPA in the United States.
In addition, for three years from April 2016, I will be engaged in Japanese-English translation work (part-time), and I can also handle translation work.
Although I don’t have a qualification in Spanish, but I think I can handle day to day conversation in Spanish without any problems.
My hobby is trekking and from time to time, take a walk around mountains near Tokyo like Mt. Takao, Tanzawa, etc. I think it is possible to provide tourist information here as well.
Since April 2015, I have been working as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tourism Volunteer and Tokyo Metropolitan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.
One more, I have a separate house near Asuka Village, Nara prefecture, and I stay there for a total of about 30 days every year and have been enjoying sightseeing personally in the vicinity. Therefore, I think in the Kansai region, especially in Nara, Asuka, Yoshino, Koyasan, Kumano Kodo, etc., where I think I will be able to tour guide with confidence.

    • Port 9:00 – Miho no Matsubara ~ Tea Hall ~ Yume Terrace 11:00 – Sunpu Park ~ Kashi no Ichi ~ Port 15:00

**Title:** What's a Private Day Tour Around Shizuoka's Miho no Matsubara and Mount Fuji Like? A Licensed Guide's Report **Body:** We met successfully at the port and headed to Miho no Matsubara. From the rooftop of the Mihoshirube facility, Mount Fuji was clearly visible. Finding it well worth going all the way to the coast, the guests viewed the Hagoromo Pine, the Hélène Monument, and Haguruma Shrine before stepping out onto the beach. There, a beautifully snow-capped Mount Fuji came into view. One of the guests spotted a submarine out at sea and took photographs. Afterward, at the tea pavilion, Mount Fuji stood out clearly alongside the view of the port. The Yume Terrace also offered a wonderful view, making it a truly fortunate day. In Sunpu Park, the double-flowered cherry blossoms were especially splendid. The guests fully enjoyed the seafood at the Kashi no Ichi market, and we said our goodbyes at the port.

I have been teaching high school students for 40 years as an English teacher and guiding for 10years including a volunteer guide .Now I am a national government licensed guide. I have been dreaming to introduce Japanese culture including tasty Japanese food and history , our society and also some problems in it. It is a great moment of joy and excitement to be with you from all over the world. I love traveling around Japan and abroad myself. I visited East Germany ,too that does not exist any more. I am looking forward to guiding you in and around Shizuoka!

Can You Do a Private Day Tour from Shizuoka Port to Miho no Matsubara and Mount Fuji? A Licensed Guide's Report We met successfully at the port and headed to Miho no Matsubara. I was relieved that Mount Fuji was clearly visible. The views were wonderful both from the rooftop of Mihoshirube and from the beach. I explained the Path of God, the Hagoromo Pine, the monument to Hélène, and Haguruma Shrine, and the guests took beautiful photos of Mount Fuji. At the tea hall located just before Yume Terrace, I introduced tea leaves and tea seeds. The guests seemed very interested and even tried mimicking tea picking. After enjoying the magnificent view from Yume Terrace, we headed to Sunpu Park. We also had some tea at the Momijiyama Garden. Back inside the park, the sight of double cherry blossom petals dancing like a carpet was truly indescribable. We enjoyed delicious seafood at the riverside market and said our goodbyes at the port.

Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Shizuoka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nihondaira and Miho no Matsubara We met successfully at the port and headed to Yume Terrace. Although Mount Fuji was not visible, I introduced the statue of the mother and child from the "Red Shoes" song and the video "The Making of Nihondaira" on the first floor of the terrace. Azaleas and pansies were blooming beautifully, and we could faintly see the port, the panoramic view of Shizuoka City, Miho no Matsubara, and the Southern Alps. Since Mount Fuji could not be seen, I decided to guide the group to the Ando Hiroshige Museum. As it is a small museum, they walked through it quickly. They did not particularly want to try a hands-on experience, but they were satisfied to see the beautiful ukiyo-e prints. After that, we headed toward the riverside fish market area, enjoyed delicious seafood, and said goodbye at the port.

A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, and Shibuya Body: The guests were a group visiting from Europe who got along very well. They said they walk every day, so walking was not a problem at all. They had just arrived in Japan the day before. They enjoyed every part of the tour, including riding the subway. They found the gate of Senso-ji Temple, the Nakamise shopping street, and the five-story pagoda truly wonderful. At Tsukiji, they enjoyed looking at the various ingredients and shops. For lunch, they happily ate ramen and tempura at a food court, saying it was delicious. They found the forest of Meiji Shrine beautiful, and since they love old buildings, they took many photos. After that, we went to Takeshita Street. They said it was a very interesting place and that they would like to visit it again on their own. Finally, they experienced the Shibuya Crossing before returning to their hotel. The weather was a little cloudy, but there were also some clear spells, and I believe the guests enjoyed the day.

Title: What's a Private Day Tour of Kanazawa from the Cruise Terminal Like? A Licensed Guide's Report At Kanazawa Station, while taking photos at the Tsuzumi Gate, I explained the tsuzumi drum, and the guests expressed a wish to see an actual one in person. At Omicho Market, the guests tried raw fish for the first time, and after the seared nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), they were delighted, saying it was their first time experiencing fish that melts in the mouth. At Seisonkaku, we compared a high-ranking samurai residence with the Nomura Family residence, and at the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum and the Honda Museum, the guests were amazed by the armor and the sankin-kotai (alternate attendance) system. A walking aid was used, and the taxi was a semi-London-style vehicle. Although the driver, who mentioned it was their first time supporting a guided tour, provided excellent assistance. The Kanazawa Cruise Terminal is new, but meeting up with the guide is somewhat inconvenient. It would be helpful if entries could also be made in English.

Before the tour began, I asked about their wishes and guided them accordingly. They also wanted to purchase round-trip Shinkansen tickets to Kyoto, so I assisted them with that as well. For lunch, they requested sushi, so I took them to Kagura Sushi in the Tsukiji Outer Market, and they were very pleased. At Senso-ji Temple, when I explained the Hindu origins of Benzaiten (Saraswati) and Daikokuten (Mahakala), they were very surprised. After showing them around Asakusa, they wanted to return to their hotel by taxi, so I put them into a taxi at the taxi stand and ended the tour. I believe the guests were satisfied with the tour.

Private Tokyo Tour from the Cruise Terminal: What Does a Licensed Guide's Full-Day Itinerary Look Like? The guests who joined this tour did so in place of another party from Oceania who had originally booked. The day before, the person who made the booking had emailed me asking whether it would be all right to add another party to the tour. On the morning of the tour, as I was heading up the escalator at the international cruise terminal toward the meeting point, someone called out to me from behind. When we spoke, it turned out to be the party that had been mentioned. They explained that one of the originally booked guests had been suddenly hospitalized that morning due to a bowel obstruction (they had reportedly not been feeling well for a few days, and contrary to hopes of recovery, the condition worsened), and would be returning home immediately. Whether they could board the return flight was still being determined through tests at the hospital, so that party would not be able to join the tour that day. The guests already knew my appearance (I had told the booking person by email that I am short and wear glasses) and my name, and the name matched the one the booking person had emailed me in advance, so I guided this party on the tour. The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Oceania, [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guiding them for a full day. They mentioned having many children and grandchildren. Their family roots trace back to Europe, and in the 1950s their families had emigrated to Oceania. The families had first met aboard the ship bound for their new home and had remained connected ever since. Since it was their first visit to Japan and they had no difficulty walking, I selected several of the main sightseeing spots to visit. To reach the Imperial Palace, our first destination, we first took the Yurikamome Line to Shimbashi Station, where I explained Tokyo's transportation system and we purchased a one-day pass. We came out onto Ginza Avenue, where I introduced some of the buildings that symbolize Ginza, and we also confirmed the meeting point in front of Matsuya Ginza for the Mount Fuji tour they were scheduled to join the following day, before boarding the Yurakucho Line. After visiting the Imperial Palace, we headed to Tokyo Station, where the guests wished to buy character goods for their grandchildren, so I guided them to a shop on the Yaesu side, where they purchased two card-related items. From there we took the rapid Keihin-Tohoku Line to Hamamatsucho. As it was lunchtime and they were happy with casual noodles, I took them to an inexpensive and tasty udon chain restaurant. Both enjoyed warm udon with tempura toppings, along with mugs of beer. At Zojoji Temple, the guests had been asked by their family to dedicate an ema (votive plaque) at a shrine or temple, so they purchased an ema at the Ankokuden hall, filled it in, and dedicated it on the ema rack, very pleased to have fulfilled the request. As there was still a little time left, I asked if there was anything else they wanted to see, and they mentioned the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, so we went there as our final stop. One of the guests had worked in construction during their career and looked with great interest from a window overlooking the large-scale construction site at Shibuya Station. We parted at the Yurikamome ticket gate at Shimbashi Station.

Title: What's a Private Day Tour from Shimizu Port to Miho no Matsubara and Mount Fuji Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I met the guests from Europe at the port without any trouble and we headed to Miho no Matsubara. We were lucky to be able to see Mount Fuji from the coast, but since they wanted to get even closer, we made our way to the World Heritage Centre in Fujinomiya. The timing was perfect, and we were able to view Mount Fuji from the rooftop of the centre. Apparently, if the timing had been slightly different, it would not have been visible, so it was truly worth coming all that way. The guests were a very cheerful group of friends, and one of them interpreted my English for the others, but the atmosphere remained relaxed throughout. After enjoying the long-awaited experience of seeing Mount Fuji up close, we headed to the riverside market, where they savoured plenty of delicious seafood before returning to the port.
