After retiring from an IT company, I have been working as a Guide Interpreter of English since March 2018. I have guided many overseas guests to the popular sightseeing spots in Tokyo, Kamakura, Mt. Fuji area (Kawaguchiko Lake etc.), Hakone, Nikko, Yokohama, Kawagoe and Kagoshima and so on. I have received good reviews from many guests. I can explain the history and the culture of Japan in detail. I look forward to an opportunity to guide you in Japan. Thank you. Seizo Kamiuto

What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe who were visiting Japan for the first time. After sightseeing in Tokyo, they planned to go on a cruise tour lasting two weeks starting in August. At Meiji Shrine, they seemed impressed by the quiet and solemn atmosphere, which was very different from Shibuya. At the Imperial Palace, they listened with great interest to historical explanations about the role of the emperor, the Meiji Restoration, and the Edo shogunate. At Senso-ji Temple, they were intrigued by the explanation of the differences between temples and shrines, as well as the Kaminarimon Gate. Since I accommodated the guests' wishes as requested, I believe they were satisfied.

What Is a Private One-Day Tour of Fukuoka Like? A Guide's Report on Nanzoin and Canal City Hakata The guests were a group living in Europe. The language they used was one European language. It was their first trip to Japan, but since they had only one day here, they mentioned that if they liked Japan, they would plan a proper trip to the country in the future. Their journey lasted several weeks and was centered mainly on travel elsewhere in Asia. They wanted to experience both traditional and modern Japan, and since they also wanted to enjoy shopping, they requested Nanzoin Temple and Canal City Hakata. For lunch, we had tonkotsu ramen. One of the guests was very good at English and interpreted for the group. This tour was planned and arranged by one of the guests, who was very curious and enthusiastic. At Canal City, they also enjoyed the fountain show.

What Is a Private Sakurajima and Kagoshima Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I was a little worried that the group might get tired in the crowds and intense summer heat during the Obon period, but the guests stayed energetic and enjoyed the day very much. At Sakurajima, they were amazed by the power of the volcanic eruptions and by the fact that more than 3,000 people live there, and they were delighted to try a foot bath for the first time. When Mount Kaimon came into view from the observation deck, I told them it is said to be the most beautiful conical volcano in Japan, and they enthusiastically took photos. The guests loved the restaurant interior and the steamed black pork dish at lunch, telling me it was "the best lunch of this cruise tour."

Kyoto in One Day: Arashiyama & Drop off at hotel and end tour

I was born and grew up in Kyoto and now live near Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. I used to be a schoolteacher of English and welcome a lot of students from foreign countries. I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people. I myself enjoyed several sports, such as soccer, judo, and marathon when I was young. I’m much interested in baseball and sumo. My motto as a tour guide is to let my guests learn about our tradition and culture precisely and really enjoy themselves. I strongly hope you will enjoy the tour in Japan with me.

    Tour Itinerary

    • 13:30 Kinkakuji Temple
    • 14:25 Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Kamishichiken
    • 15:20. Drop off at hotel and end tour

What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. One of them found English a little difficult, but the other helped with communication. The effects of a typhoon continued, so it was not too hot, and there were fewer tourists, which made it possible to take many good photos. As the Obon period had passed, there were not many domestic tourists either. Arashiyama in particular was easy to photograph even after 10:00. After Kinkaku-ji, we had a little extra time, so I guided them from Kitano Tenmangu to Kamishichiken and then saw them off at the Hotel, ending the tour. We used a taxi from Ryoan-ji to the lunch spot. The photo was taken at Ryoan-ji.

Osaka in Half a Day: Shitennoji Temple

Hello! My name is Umi. I was born and raised in Kyoto, and I still live here today.

I have always loved traveling. When I visit another country, I enjoy learning about its history, culture, and way of life from local people. Talking with locals helps me understand a place much better than simply visiting famous sights. That’s why I became a tour guide.

Through my tours, I hope to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of Japan. In addition to its beauty and traditions, I am also happy to talk about modern life in Japan. My goal is for my guests to leave Japan with wonderful memories and a deeper appreciation of the country.

I’m looking forward to meeting you!

    Tour Itinerary

    • 13:10 Meet the guests at the hotel lobby
    • 13:20 Hokoku Shrine・Osaka Castle (not entering the Museum)
    • 14:10 Shitennoji Temple
    • 15:10 Stroll around the Dotonbori area
    • 15:30 Tour ends at Dotonbori

What Is a Private Osaka Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Shitennoji, and Dotonbori I guided a guest visiting Japan from Europe. It was their first time in Osaka, and since they wished to see castles and temples, we visited Osaka Castle, Shitennoji Temple, Dotonbori, and Hozenji Temple. At Osaka Castle, in the Kishu Garden, I explained that the ponds of Japanese gardens are designed so that buildings are reflected on the water's surface, and I suggested taking photos capturing both the building and its reflection together. The guest then waited for other people to move out of the frame before taking their photos. At Shitennoji Temple, the Manto-e cleanup happened to be underway, and the guest showed interest in the lanterns adorned with streamers in the five traditional colors. Since the guest planned to return to Tokyo after the tour, I guided them through each location at a relatively brisk pace and used taxis for transportation. As a result, by the time we finished touring the final destination, Hozenji Yokocho, about an hour and a half still remained. When I asked whether there were any other places they would like to visit, they said they wanted to return to the hotel and prepare to travel to Tokyo, so in line with their wishes, we ended the tour earlier than scheduled.

What Can You See on a 4-Hour Private Kanazawa Tour Before Catching the Shinkansen to Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from North America, and this was their first trip to Japan on an 11-day visit. Since they were heading to Kyoto on the 16:30 shinkansen departing from Kanazawa today, it was a 4-hour tour using local buses and taxis, but they were delighted because we were able to visit all the places they wanted to see. At Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park, they took great interest in my guiding about the Maeda family. Since we visited the Ninja Temple after that explanation, they found the content easy to understand. They were deeply moved by the beautiful garden of the Nomura family residence. After the tour ended, since my home is near Higashi Chaya District, I walked together with the guests who were heading to Higashi Chaya District on their own while I returned home, and I was able to recommend a good cafe and point out the highlights of Higashi Chaya District along the way.

Mt. Fuji View Shimizu Customized Tour

I have been teaching high school students for 40 years as an English teacher and guiding for 10years including a volunteer guide .Now I am a national government licensed guide. I have been dreaming to introduce Japanese culture including tasty Japanese food and history , our society and also some problems in it. It is a great moment of joy and excitement to be with you from all over the world. I love traveling around Japan and abroad myself. I visited East Germany ,too that does not exist any more. I am looking forward to guiding you in and around Shizuoka!

    Tour Itinerary

    • 9:30 Port – Shimizu Station ~ Higashi-Shizuoka Station ~ Nihondaira Yume Terrace Entrance ~ Tea Hall 11:30 – Yume Terrace 12:15 Nihondaira Yume Terrace Entrance ~ Higashi-Shizuoka Station ~ Shimizu Station 13:15 – Miho no Matsubara Entrance ~ Miho no Matsubara ~ Miho no Matsubara Entrance ~ Komagoe-kita ~ Hama Sushi 14:50 – Komagoe-kita ~ Suehiro – Port 15:30

What Can You See on a Private Day Tour Around Shimizu Port and Miho no Matsubara? A Licensed Guide's Report We met successfully at the port and headed to Nihondaira Yume Terrace. Fortunately, Mount Fuji was visible, which made the trip worthwhile. On the way, I guided the guests to a nearby tea center, where they saw tea fields, tea seeds, and a superb view of Mount Fuji before continuing to Yume Terrace. The beautiful summit of Mount Fuji was in view. To make sure Mount Fuji did not become hidden, we hurried to Miho no Matsubara. Luckily, we were also able to see Mount Fuji from the coast. For lunch, since the guests wanted a sushi restaurant frequented by locals, we stopped at Hama Sushi on the way back to the port. They were delighted that it was affordable and delicious. Then, wanting to fit in one more spot, I talked about Shimizu no Jirocho and we visited "Suehiro." A volunteer guide performed a paper-theater story in English depicting Jirocho's compassion, and gave them an origami shuriken as a good-luck charm. We said goodbye at the port with smiles.

Title: What Is a Private Day Trip from Tokyo to Kyoto by Bullet Train Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America on a birthday-celebration trip. The tour itself was a day trip from Tokyo to Kyoto by bullet train. Before the tour, there had apparently been some discussion between the travel agency and the guests about whether the tour should be conducted in Spanish or English, and it was ultimately agreed that English would be acceptable, so the tour proceeded in English. However, the day before the tour, there was a request to add one more person, as the guests wished to invite a Japanese guide who spoke Spanish and who had assisted them in Tokyo, so the tour was conducted with five guests in total. In the end, since most of the guests did not speak much English, the tour managed to take shape thanks to this Japanese guide interpreting my explanations, though I am not entirely certain that everything I explained was fully conveyed. After the tour, I was kindly invited to a meal at Kyoto Station, but I politely declined, and the tour came to an end.
