    • 8. 16:40 Hotel Hiroshima

What Is a Private Hiroshima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Food and the Peace Memorial Park The guests were very curious and eager to try various aspects of Japanese culture and food. They asked many questions about the history of Hiroshima and the atomic bombing. They were very polite and cooperative, so the tour proceeded smoothly. Since they had eaten okonomiyaki the day before, we decided on conger eel (anago) for lunch. One of the guests seemed a little worried at first, but ended up loving it and finished the whole dish. They also tried all of my recommendations, including lemon soda and momiji manju, and were very satisfied. At the Peace Memorial Park, they appeared deeply moved and saddened. The Atomic Bomb Museum was, as always, so extremely crowded that it felt suffocating, so I guided them to at least see the highlights. It is truly a shame that, although I would like them to be able to view the exhibits slowly, the dimly lit interior is packed every time, making it impossible to see everything properly. The guests told me, "We were able to learn so much about Hiroshima, the food was delicious, and we are so glad we came to Hiroshima. Thank you," which put me at ease.

Hello! My name is Yuko, and I am delighted to be your guide.

I currently work as a tour guide in both Tokyo and Hiroshima, two cities that represent very different yet equally fascinating sides of Japan. This unique perspective allows me to share not only famous landmarks, but also the culture, history, and everyday life that make each place special.

I truly believe that guiding is my calling. For every tour, I focus on creating a personal, authentic, and memorable experience tailored to your interests. Whether we explore Tokyo’s vibrant neighborhoods or Hiroshima’s rich history and warm local culture, I want you to leave with a deeper understanding of Japan and meaningful memories of your journey.

I enjoy meeting travelers from around the world and helping them discover hidden stories and local perspectives that are often missed in guidebooks.

Once you have booked a tour with me, please feel free to reach out via email or WhatsApp so I can send you a suggested itinerary. I look forward to meeting you!

Can You Do a Private Hiroshima Peace Memorial Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour of Hiroshima for a group visiting Japan from North America. Before entering the main building of the memorial museum, I used photographs to explain the background of the children orphaned by the atomic bomb, the story behind the photographs taken by a Chugoku Shimbun newspaper reporter immediately after the bombing, and the personal story of a survivor. This helped the guests understand the historical background, and they were very pleased. Since the guests mentioned that they had watched a baseball game in Tokyo, I also talked about the history of the Hiroshima Carp. Unlike other teams, the Hiroshima Carp does not have a parent company, so they faced financial difficulties and struggled to hire good players. As a result, they often finished last in the league and had no choice but to focus on developing young players. However, whenever those players became good, they were always recruited away by wealthier teams. The guests listened to this history with great interest.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Temples, Shrines, and Local Food The guests were visiting from North America, and it was their first time in Japan for all of them. They had arrived in Kyoto yesterday after being shown around Tokyo by an acquaintance from work who is Japanese. Since they had already gained some experience with food in Tokyo, I introduced them to casual, everyday eateries that they would not normally visit on their own, such as a popular Chinese-style restaurant serving gyoza and tenshinhan, and their reaction was very satisfying to me. Today I introduced them to Japan's unique religious perspective — visiting a shrine and visiting a temple, the differences between them, what a shogun was in relation to the imperial system, and the folkloric background of customs such as Obon, Jizo Bodhisattva, and stone lanterns. On the other hand, it was very interesting to hear firsthand information about the current state of Halloween in North America.

What's a Private Nara Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nara Park, Kasuga Taisha, and Nakatanidou The tour was originally booked for a larger group, but in the end the group was reduced to a smaller number of guests. I had assumed they were staying at a local ryokan and asked the ryokan staff to check the guest list, but it turned out they were staying at a nearby private lodging. (Is there any way to know this in advance? I felt sorry for taking up the staff's time — this kind of confusion has happened quite a few times before.) The guests were very keen to see the traditional, hand-pounded mugwort mochi being made at Nakatanidou, so I adjusted the originally planned route. They especially wanted to film the process on video, and they were very satisfied after visiting. Because of this, we skipped Nigatsudo and Toshodaiji Temple. The guests also seemed to enjoy interacting with the deer and taking videos at Nara Park. In addition, they said it was wonderful to experience the sacred atmosphere of Kasuga Taisha Shrine.

What Is a Private Himeji Castle Tour Like from Osaka? A Licensed Guide's Report While staying in Osaka, the guests learned that Himeji was nearby and decided to visit on short notice. They were surprised by how different Himeji Castle was from Osaka Castle. Since walking was a bit difficult for the guests, we proceeded at a very relaxed pace, taking plenty of time. We were not able to reach the top, but I was glad to be able to show them at least part of the castle interior. As the heat and humidity were rising, I gave my explanations at Koko-en while keeping walking to a minimum. The guests seemed to truly enjoy themselves and said they had a wonderful day. I am filled with gratitude that they made the trip to Himeji.

What's a Private Tokyo Day Tour with a Licensed Guide Like? A Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They had been planning a trip to Japan for several years, but it had been postponed due to the pandemic; this trip was to celebrate the completion of their studies. This was their second country to visit in Asia, following Thailand. After Tokyo, they planned to visit Hakone, Kyoto and Nara, and Osaka, before returning directly to North America. Delicious Japanese food was a strong motivation for their trip to Japan. With that in mind, we decided to have sushi at Tsukiji Market for lunch. They were very pleased. They mentioned that they plan to join a gourmet tour in Koenji the next day. Since they had arrived the previous evening, jet lag caught up with them in the latter half of the afternoon, so I saw them off at Shimokitazawa Station near their accommodation and we parted ways.

What Is a Private Guided Tour of Aizuwakamatsu and Ouchijuku Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Since I felt a little uneasy about riding in a car driven by the guests, I limited driving to the short distances within Aizuwakamatsu City and used public transportation to reach Ouchijuku. As it turned out, this allowed the guests to enjoy views of Japan's peaceful, traditional countryside scenery from the train window, which seemed to be a good experience for them. The guests said they had a wonderful time enjoying samurai culture, and above all the well-preserved historic scenery of Ouchijuku, sampling and comparing different Japanese sake, and relaxing at a foot bath — all of which were valuable experiences unique to Aizu. It was my first time guiding guests from Africa, and I learned a great deal by hearing about their country.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.

What Is a Private Himeji Castle Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Today's guests were a group visiting Japan for the first time from North America. We had originally planned to meet at Himeji Station, but the guests arrived earlier than scheduled and contacted me to say they were having a meal at a restaurant near Himeji Castle, so we met in front of the restaurant. We visited Himeji Castle, Kokoen Garden, a souvenir shop, and the rooftop of Eagle Himeji, then returned to Himeji Station where we parted ways. Although we started the tour considerably later than usual, we did not encounter any large crowds, and it was an extremely smooth tour. The guests were able to view the special exhibition inside Himeji Castle at a relaxed pace, and they were very pleased.

What Is a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report After confirming the planned itinerary, the guests set off in good spirits. Since they wanted to see as much as possible, I planned a route that avoided passing through the same places twice and chose relatively less crowded spots—for example, at Meiji Shrine, we exited via Kita-Sando rather than making a round trip back to Harajuku Station. Throughout the entire itinerary, the guests walked around energetically at a relatively brisk pace. It felt as though they saw all the highlights along the route without missing anything, and I believe they were satisfied. Understandably, they began to feel tired around the Asakusa Rokku entertainment district, and they asked to be guided to Shinjuku within the allotted time. At the ticket gate of Shinjuku Station, we topped up a Suica card together, and the tour came to an end.
