    What Is a Private Harajuku and Shibuya Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour for a group visiting from North America. After heavy rain the previous day, the tour took place on a scorching day with temperatures reaching 30 degrees. Following a request from one of the guests, we focused on Harajuku and Shibuya, and considering the extreme heat, we traveled by taxi. At Meiji Shrine, we came across a family who had come for a first shrine visit for their baby, and since we were asked to take a photo, the guests were able to take a picture together as well, which delighted them greatly. When I explained about the first shrine visit and the Shichi-Go-San celebration, I felt they gained a little sense of the religious sentiment in Japan. At lunch at GON PACHI, they thanked me for taking them to such a wonderful place. I then took them to the Cat Café MOCHA at their request, and after receiving warm words of appreciation for covering everything, we said our goodbyes.

    Before becoming a tour guide, I worked for a major steelmaking company as an engineer for many years. During my career, I lived and worked in both Germany and the United States for a total of five years. These experiences helped me understand different cultures and ways of thinking, which now helps me connect easily with guests from around the world.

    After retirement, I chose a second career as a tour guide because I truly enjoy meeting people from different countries and sharing Japanese culture, history, and daily life. I have been working as a guide for more than nine years and continue to enjoy every tour.

    I currently live in Tokyo, but I was born and raised in Kobe, near Osaka, and my family roots are in Kyoto. As a result, I have extensive knowledge not only of Tokyo but also of Kyoto, Osaka, and many other parts of Japan. I enjoy introducing both famous landmarks and hidden local gems that many visitors might otherwise miss.

    I am energetic, friendly, and very sociable. I always try to create tours that are relaxed, flexible, and tailored to my guests’ interests.

    Travel is one of my greatest passions, especially visiting hot spring resorts. I have visited more than 80 onsen destinations throughout Japan, giving me a deep appreciation of Japanese culture and regional traditions.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Kinkaku-ji and Sagano The weather today was lightly overcast, neither too hot nor too cold — just right. We traveled by taxi from Kinkaku-ji to Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple, then slowly made our way down through Sagano. The guests enjoyed the scenery very much. In the end, since they had a massage reservation booked in Gion, we arrived in Gion just after three o'clock, guided them to the shop where they had their reservation, and ended the tour. For lunch, after eating soba, they enjoyed warabi mochi and also bought and ate some bread at a bakery café — they had a very enjoyable time.

    Bye bye smart phone!! Let’s enjoy Japan without bothering to check up your phone all the time with not AI but a local guide like me. Hi, my name is Mimmy. You may think this sounds like a kitten’s name.
    I use this nickname because it sounds cute and easy to remember. However,
    I actually look rounded, a middle aged woman more like a yellow character of M&Mchocolate, which reminds you of my name easily when you see me.
    I was born in Osaka, went to school in Kobe, went to work in Kyoto and married but still live in Osaka. I am a local, native Osakan. My 3 children are all grown up and live separately except one son. Now I live with one son and a husband in suburbs of the Osaka city.
    I like travelling, walking around the town and anything new.
    I got my guide license in 2017 and started guiding after that. I wasn’t able to work during Covid period but start guiding in 2022 again. I guide Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe and have experienced more than100 tours including bus tours.
    I would like to tell you about the itineraries I usually have in each area.
    In Osaka, we usually go to Osaka castle, Shinsekai and Dotonbori Namba area.
    I think most important part you should see is Dotonbori Namba in Osaka.
    This place is vibrant , energetic, full of 3D signs and different from any other place in Japan.
    In Kyoto, we cannot see all famous sightseeing spots in one day.
    It will be better to visit each area respectively. I recommend guests who come to Kyoto first time to visit East area, Kiyomizu Temple>Sannenzaka>Ninenzaka>Ishibeikouji>Yasaka shrine> Gion area. This area has an atmosphere of traditional old Kyoto. The most Kyoto like places which suit Kimono. You can rent Kimono in a lot of places around here.
    The second place I recommend you is West area: Golden temple and Arashiyama area where Bamboo forest , Tenryuji temple, mountains and a river. There are several nice gardens in this area. If you want to enjoy the nature quietly, you
    should come here when it is not crowded (Winter is the most quiet)
    In Nara which used to be a capital even older than Kyoto, we visit Todaiji Temple where a huge Buddha is sitting inside of one of the largest wooden hall and you can play with deer everywhere in Nara. Naramachi: a small town in this area is a local place where small interesting shops are.
    In Kobe, a port city, you can visit Japanese Sake breweries, Herb garden and the top of Mt.Rokko for viewing Kobe city. A small China town is there, too.

    Now I bet you want to leave home to explore somewhere else you do not know.
    Not only going to somewhere else, we can help you to do several experiences: making tea, making Japanese sweet, making Takoyaki(food), wearing Kimono, making food samples, attending a tea ceremony, throwing Shriken like Ninja, Using bow and arrow like Samurai, , , ,

    Title: What's a Private Osaka Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Abeno Harukas and a Museum Visit The guests were visitors from Oceania. The pace was somewhat slow, but everything went smoothly, and they showed genuine interest at each spot. One of the guests seemed quite knowledgeable about Japan and asked many detailed questions. The museum they had requested was showing works by young Japanese artists rather than its usual collection that day, so I am not entirely sure whether it met their expectations. When I mentioned during our conversation that there is a hotel located in Abeno Harukas, the guests expressed interest and wanted to see it, so I guided them there, and we parted ways. Their accommodation this time was also part of the same hotel group, which made me wonder if they might have some connection to it.     I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
    real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
    if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

    Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
    that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
    and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
    foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
    Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
    Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
    octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
    This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
    Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
    Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
    ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

    Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
    that you like them very much.

    Title: What's a Private One-Day Osaka Tour Like for Guests Coming from Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. One of them had spent time living in Japan before and knew a little Japanese. In the morning I received a message that they would travel from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka and arrive at 12:27. At pickup, they said they wanted to return to Tokyo by 21:00, so I reserved the 17:48 HIKARI from Shin-Osaka. Some of the guests held a JR Pass, while another purchased a ticket. They mentioned wanting to have okonomiyaki for dinner, so after visiting Osaka Castle, we enjoyed okonomiyaki in Dotonbori, which they were very happy about. After taking photos in front of the Meiji and Glico signs, we traveled by subway to Shin-Osaka, and the tour concluded there.

    What's a Private Day Tour of Fukuoka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nanzoin, Ramen, and Tenjin The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had previously been to Tokyo and Osaka, but this was their first time in Kyushu. Two days earlier they had toured Nagasaki, the day before they had visited Beppu, and today was Fukuoka. The rain I had been worried about held off in the morning, so we were able to enjoy Kido Nanzoin. As the guests followed Buddhism, they prayed relatively devoutly at Kido Nanzoin. For lunch, there were two options: buying a bento and eating it on the rooftop of Hakata Station, or eating at a restaurant. Since they wanted to have ramen, I took them to Najimatei, a long-established shop. As the guests liked walking, after lunch we traveled entirely on foot from Hakata Station to Tenjin without using any public transportation. Everyone was very polite, and after giving them a recommendation for dinner, we parted ways in Tenjin.

The guests shared their circumstances before coming to Japan, and it was clear how happy they were that the trip had finally become possible. The visit had originally been planned as part of university studies, but after the original plan changed, the guests decided to travel to Japan on short notice. Some of the group had health backgrounds, and part of the group stayed home. The guests thoroughly enjoyed Miyajima. The area in front of the great torii gate seemed to leave a particularly strong impression, and it was memorable that they went to take photos there not only right after arriving on the island but also again before leaving, showing heartfelt delight.

    What Is a Private Taxi Tour of Fushimi Inari in Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests requested to travel by taxi. While part of the group looked after other members, the guest who made the booking enjoyed strolling around the Inari shrine. Because a buggy was being used, we avoided spots that required stairs. I am relieved that we were able to complete the tour safely. One point of reflection was that some members of the group were harder to engage with and preferred to go at their own pace, so I was unsure how best to talk with them. This time, the cloudy sky was fortunate, and it turned out to be a tour where fatigue was less of an issue.

    What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour with a Guide and Driver Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour was for a group of guests visiting from North America. Initially we had been told there would be six people, but the number was reduced by one. Regarding the meeting point, the hostel URL sent in advance via a messaging app was for a hostel near Kyoto Station. I arrived at the lobby at 9:20 and called via the messaging app to confirm, and the guests said they were still at the hostel near Kyoto Station. By 10:00, even though we were both supposedly in the lobby, we could not find each other, so I had the hostel receptionist speak on the phone, and we finally realized the guests were in the lobby of a different hostel with the same name. The guide and driver headed there and were able to meet them. There had also been a request in advance for one of the guests to be able to go to the restroom whenever needed. Thanks in part to the driver's assistance, the guests enjoyed the itinerary itself. Since I had trusted the accommodation information provided by the guests, the start of the tour was delayed. I sincerely apologize for that.

    I am an experienced guide, who live in Osaka. I have been a Government-Licensed Guide in English since 2018. I have already guided a lot of tourists overseas in Kansai Area, that is, in the vicinity of my prefecture, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Himeji. I am especially good at guiding in Kansai Area with sufficient knowledge of history, culture and transportation. I have guided people ranging from a small group of one or two to a group of 20-50 people in a big bus, that is, a coach. I like delicious food, because Osaka is a city of Kuidaorre, which means that people in Osaka love to eat and never spend too much money on food. Therefore, as an Osakan, I will do my best to explore restaurants which serve most delicious foods in wherever I take to my guests.

    What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like for Overseas Guests? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America. It was a well-coordinated group, and the tour proceeded smoothly under their lead. The sky was cloudy with weak sunlight, which made for a relatively comfortable tour. At every destination, there were many school excursion students. The ramen restaurant we visited for lunch was empty when we arrived just after its 11:00 opening, so we were able to sit with ease. To reach Kiyomizu-dera Temple, we took a taxi from Higashiyama subway station, but since Gojozaka was congested with buses, we chose Chawanzaka instead and managed to finish the tour close to on time. The photo was taken at a ramen restaurant near Nijo Castle.

I really enjoyed showing them around Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Himeji, and Hiroshima. I have been a professional tour guide for about 8 years. I always try to let my guests learn Japanese traditional and modern culture. Since I was born in Kyoto, I know a lot about its culture and people.     Title: What Is a Private Guided Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report I guided the guests visiting from North America. The reason the hotel meeting time was set early at 7:30 was that they had reserved a 4:30 train to Osaka. Around 9:00 in the morning, Miyajima was quiet with very few tourists. Since the shops were still closed, it was a shame that we could not eat freshly made momiji manju, which the guests seemed to have been looking forward to. When I showed them a scenic photo spot, they were delighted to take pictures. The guests looked at the exhibits at the museum with great interest, and they listened with keen attention and were deeply moved by my own experience as a second-generation atomic bomb survivor.
