What's a Standard Private Tokyo Sightseeing Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guest was a visitor from North America, traveling solo. Rather than trendy spots, the guest requested standard sightseeing destinations, so I guided them to classic places. The guest kept exclaiming "Cool!" throughout the tour. The guest enjoyed Tsukiji and was delighted by their first taste of sushi in Japan. Perhaps because of the heat, everywhere was quiet, and in Asakusa quite a few shops had their shutters closed. Even the Shibuya crossing was so empty that the road stripes were clearly visible.

Kyoto in Half a Day: Fushimi Inari Taisha & Kiyomizu-dera

    Tour Itinerary

    • 9:00 Meet at Hotel Kyoto Karasuma Gojo
    • 9:40 Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine
    • 11:15 Yasaka Pagoda ~ Yasaka Koshindo ~ Sannenzaka
    • 11:35 Kiyomizu-dera Temple
    • 12:40 Disband in front of the Nio Gate of Kiyomizu-dera Temple

What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari and Higashiyama The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. They had visited Osaka and Kyoto, and were planning to continue to Tokyo and then enjoy scuba diving in Ishigaki. It was their first time in Kyoto, and they found the temples and shrines very fresh and impressive. We were lucky today with cloudy skies, and none of the places were too crowded, so we were able to explore comfortably. Even at the Senbon Torii of Fushimi Inari Taisha, it was easy to take photos, which I think they were pleased about. When I mentioned that many people buy the torii-shaped ema as Christmas decorations, they promptly purchased some. They also drew a "great blessing" fortune at the omikuji and were very delighted. The area around the Yasaka Pagoda was also not too crowded, so I believe they were able to fully enjoy the atmosphere of Kyoto.

What's a First Day in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Private Tour Report (Meiji Shrine, Tokyo Metropolitan Building, Tsukiji) The guests were visitors from Europe on their first day in Tokyo, so I explained an overview of the city and how to use the subway. They had already obtained a mobile PASMO, which made getting around easy. They planned to join a cycling tour and a Nakasendo walking tour starting the next day, so they were an active group. After visiting Meiji Shrine, we took a leisurely walk along the West Approach. Even in the intense heat, the greenery of the trees was beautiful and it felt a little cooler. We took the Odakyu Line to Shinjuku and then used a bus to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for a cool, comfortable ride. The building was not crowded, and we rested while enjoying the view. At Tsukiji, since they requested authentic sushi, I took them to Shutoku before parting ways. The lunch was 6,500 yen, but they said it would cost much more back home. I believe they were very pleased.

I’m YUMI. Japan is full of history, nature and culture. I would like to talk about them from many aspects. When you have some questions, don’t hesitate to ask me. There’re many off the beaten paths in Japan. If you want to walk in a hidden local area, I’ll tailor the special course as you wish.
Experiencing new foods is also one of many intriguing things during your trip. I would recommend anything from street foods such as Ramen, Yakitori to authentic Sushi or elegant courses. My policy is to cherish your feelings and time. Let’s enjoy talking and walking with me!

A Private Tokyo Walking Tour of Rikugien and Yanaka: A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America, and they seemed accustomed to hot weather. We took appropriate breaks along the way, including a light meal at a bakery, so I believe they were able to enjoy the tour until the end without getting too tired. However, since one of the guests could not walk quickly, I paid attention to staying toward the back so that we would not become too spread out, especially at stations. Because they planned to visit the famous spots on a separate tour, they requested that I take them to places that most people do not usually go, so I decided to guide them through Rikugien and Yanaka. Both were well received, but I felt the reaction at Rikugien was especially positive. Compared with other gardens, Rikugien has a lot of shade and is usually not very crowded, so I think it is a great spot for hot summer days.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
I look forward to meeting you. Thank you.

    • 13:30 Disband at Odori (subway station)

What Is a Private Sapporo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were an enthusiastic group who sent emails up to three times a day once the guide was assigned. At the Clock Tower, Odori Park, and the TV Tower, they enjoyed shopping and taking photos. The weather was very nice, so the view from the TV Tower was excellent, and with the temperature and humidity not being too high, we were able to walk around comfortably. They had apparently gone to a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant the day before, and had sushi for lunch as well. At the beer museum, one of the guests was about to allow another member of the group to drink beer, so I made sure they clearly understood Japanese law. I was told that drinking is permitted from a younger age in Oceania. I tried to make a reservation at the beer garden, but it was full, so I recommended booking online another time. After we parted, they wanted to visit Shiroi Koibito Park, so I bought subway tickets and explained how to get there.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour by Bullet Train Like? A Licensed Guide's Report 1. The guests arrived at Kyoto Station by bullet train at 8:51. I picked them up on the platform and the tour began. 2. At Fushimi Inari, the guests purchased items such as a torii gate magnet. 3. At Tenryu-ji Temple, we enjoyed the fully bloomed hydrangeas and lotus flowers. 4. In our prior email exchange, the guests had expressed a wish to visit Ryoan-ji Temple. Since we were running about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, I suggested that if they were willing to skip Gion, we could visit Ryoan-ji instead. The guests agreed, so we visited Ryoan-ji. 5. After visiting Ryoan-ji, the guests asked whether it would be possible to extend the time so they could also see Gion. I presented the additional taxi cost and guide fee for a 30-minute extension, and the guests agreed, so the 30-minute extension was confirmed. The guests had booked a 15:30 bullet train from Kyoto Station to Tokyo, but they changed it online to 16:00. 6. At a shop in Gion, the guests purchased bread, a bag, and other items, and we arrived at Kyoto Station at 15:30, where the tour ended.

Title: What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Akihabara The guests were visitors from North America, with one having visited Japan before and the other visiting for the first time. After two days of sightseeing in Tokyo, they were scheduled to depart from Yokohama on a cruise tour around Japan. At Meiji Shrine, they showed great interest in the vast and solemn atmosphere, as well as the explanations of Shinto and the Meiji Restoration. At the Imperial Palace, they were a little disappointed that visitors cannot go inside past the main gate in front of the Nijubashi Bridge. According to the original plan, we were going to visit Senso-ji Temple after the Imperial Palace, and had already purchased a one-day subway pass. However, since walking in the intense heat caused some knee discomfort and there was a wish to purchase a hair dryer, we decided to cancel the visit to Senso-ji Temple and change the plan to visit Akihabara instead. Since I responded exactly as the guests wished, I believe they were satisfied.

Title: What Can You See on a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Park Tour from a Cruise Ship? A Licensed Guide's Report On the day of the tour, the guests were among the first to disembark, and I was able to meet them without any trouble. It was humid, but the weather was good. We took a taxi to Miyajima right away, and I was able to show them more places than I had originally anticipated. Since they had told me in advance that they wanted to see as much as possible, I feel I was able to do just that. After moving to the Peace Park, I had planned for lunch, but the guests said, "We don't need to eat. We want to see a lot," so we were able to go all the way to the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims. I myself enjoyed our conversations very much, ranging from a family connection to the Manhattan Project, to the content of the film Oppenheimer, and even to topics such as the sports and martial arts the guests enjoy. I would be grateful if the guests were satisfied. As I also wrote in a separate email, the guests mentioned that they did not know how to leave a review, so I would appreciate it if guidance could be provided on how to do that.

What Is a Private Family Tour in Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting Japan. They moved around smoothly, but the extreme heat again required frequent breaks and hydration throughout the day. At each spot, the guests observed with great interest. In particular, one of the guests asked many quite in-depth questions. As a guide, I was also very interested to hear a lot about the guests' home region, which was somewhat unfamiliar to me. After the tour ended, I was even invited to dinner and was able to spend a very enjoyable time together.

    Dear my guests,

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
    explanation for these three foods.

    1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
    2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
    3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.

I sincerely hope that I can be your tour guide this time in Kobe, Osaka and Himeji. If my guests said to me after the tour, “I have had a very good
and pleasant time with you today. I hope I can come here again and name you as our guide”, which is my great pleasure. Moreover, I would be
great honored if they say “I like Japan now thanks to you”.

Looking forward to meeting you soon here.

What's a Private Osaka Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle and Kuromon Market The guests today were a group visiting from North America. At Miraiza Osaka-jo, they enjoyed trying throwing shuriken, and at Kuromon Market they had niku-maki onigiri (meat-wrapped rice balls) and fruit mochi. It was very hot and challenging, but along the way we managed by having ice cream and buying drinks. Recently I have been handing out cooling towels during tours. On the way back, the guests asked me to explain how to send their luggage, so we went to a nearby convenience store to ask about the timing and other details. I helped by filling out the shipping form and calling their next accommodation. The tour ended after they kindly gave me payment for the extended time, a tip, and a souvenir.

Bye bye smart phone!! Let’s enjoy Japan without bothering to check up your phone all the time with not AI but a local guide like me. Hi, my name is Mimmy. You may think this sounds like a kitten’s name.
I use this nickname because it sounds cute and easy to remember. However,
I actually look rounded, a middle aged woman more like a yellow character of M&Mchocolate, which reminds you of my name easily when you see me.
I was born in Osaka, went to school in Kobe, went to work in Kyoto and married but still live in Osaka. I am a local, native Osakan. My 3 children are all grown up and live separately except one son. Now I live with one son and a husband in suburbs of the Osaka city.
I like travelling, walking around the town and anything new.
I got my guide license in 2017 and started guiding after that. I wasn’t able to work during Covid period but start guiding in 2022 again. I guide Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe and have experienced more than100 tours including bus tours.
I would like to tell you about the itineraries I usually have in each area.
In Osaka, we usually go to Osaka castle, Shinsekai and Dotonbori Namba area.
I think most important part you should see is Dotonbori Namba in Osaka.
This place is vibrant , energetic, full of 3D signs and different from any other place in Japan.
In Kyoto, we cannot see all famous sightseeing spots in one day.
It will be better to visit each area respectively. I recommend guests who come to Kyoto first time to visit East area, Kiyomizu Temple>Sannenzaka>Ninenzaka>Ishibeikouji>Yasaka shrine> Gion area. This area has an atmosphere of traditional old Kyoto. The most Kyoto like places which suit Kimono. You can rent Kimono in a lot of places around here.
The second place I recommend you is West area: Golden temple and Arashiyama area where Bamboo forest , Tenryuji temple, mountains and a river. There are several nice gardens in this area. If you want to enjoy the nature quietly, you
should come here when it is not crowded (Winter is the most quiet)
In Nara which used to be a capital even older than Kyoto, we visit Todaiji Temple where a huge Buddha is sitting inside of one of the largest wooden hall and you can play with deer everywhere in Nara. Naramachi: a small town in this area is a local place where small interesting shops are.
In Kobe, a port city, you can visit Japanese Sake breweries, Herb garden and the top of Mt.Rokko for viewing Kobe city. A small China town is there, too.

Now I bet you want to leave home to explore somewhere else you do not know.
Not only going to somewhere else, we can help you to do several experiences: making tea, making Japanese sweet, making Takoyaki(food), wearing Kimono, making food samples, attending a tea ceremony, throwing Shriken like Ninja, Using bow and arrow like Samurai, , , ,
I am very happy indeed if I can help you find things impressive enough and have once in a life time experience during our tour.
I am looking forward to sharing a good time with you.
