Title: What Is a Private Miyajima and Hiroshima Peace Park Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The tour was originally booked for three, but one of the guests did not travel to Hiroshima, so the group became two. Today was again a day with temperatures over 30 degrees, but perhaps because of the continuous heat, it felt quite comfortable. Since high tide was in the morning today, we visited Miyajima first. Along the main approach, the guests enjoyed things such as a lemon drink. For lunch I recommended okonomiyaki, but it did not appeal to one of the guests. When I asked again after returning to Hiroshima City, they said they were not hungry, so we simply continued the tour. Along the way, the guests enjoyed some rice crackers they had brought with them. After visiting the Peace Memorial Park and the museum, I also suggested going to Shukkeien Garden, but the reply was that they wished to head back. I helped them change their Shinkansen tickets, and the tour came to an end. Around that time, it also began to rain. One of the guests is studying Japanese. It was their first visit to Japan, and of course they said they would love to come back again.

I was born and raised in Hiroshima. My first tour in English was as a volunteer guide for the visitors to my school when I was a junior high school student. It gave me a great opportunity to study about the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
I spent my life in Hiroshima except for 6 years; 1 year in the UK as a student and 5 years working in Singapore and Malaysia. During this period I enjoyed meeting and talking with people from different cultural backgrounds.
These experiences encouraged me to be a licensed tour guide.

In Hiroshima, there are two famous World Heritage Sites, the Atomic Bomb Dome in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial & Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima.
I have experienced many tours of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum & Park since I was a junior high school student. I would like to introduce you to the a-bomb legacies that are still existing in the city and the stories under the mushroom cloud.
I also would like to share time with you on a historic island, Miyajima. There is one of the most famous Shinto shrines, the Itsukushima Shrine. We can share an enjoyable time by exploring a sacred atmosphere, tradition, nature, food, etc.

I am also an official ‘A-bomb legacy successor’ designated by the City of Hiroshima. An A-bomb Legacy Successor is a memory keeper of the A-bomb survivors. To ensure that the A-bomb survivors’ experiences and desires for peace are faithfully inherited and shared with as many people as possible, the City has started a three-year training program for official ‘A-bomb Legacy Successors. ‘

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama and Fushimi Inari The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. A travel agency acted as an intermediary, so rather than negotiating directly, I followed the agency's instructions. A vehicle with a driver was arranged through the agency. This day was cloudy from the morning, and without direct sunlight it was a relatively comfortable day to be out. The guests walked at a good pace. I joined the group for lunch at Shoreian in Arashiyama. It was a shabu-shabu meal centered on tofu and yuba, with many carefully crafted dishes, and everyone enjoyed the food. I included some time for shopping along the way, but the guests were not particularly keen on it and only bought a few items. During sightseeing at Fushimi Inari, one of the guests began to feel a headache, so we headed to the Hotel right away and ended the tour a little earlier than planned. Thanks to this, we also avoided the rain that started around 4 o'clock. The photo was taken at Gioji Temple.

What Is a Private Kanazawa Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from Europe. At the Nomura Samurai House, they were interested in the carp in the garden and the swords in the museum. At a souvenir shop in front of Oyama Shrine, one of the guests bought some small souvenirs. We visited Oyama Shrine and Gyokusen'in Garden, and toured Kanazawa Castle. Originally, we had planned to see Kenrokuen afterward, but instead decided to go to the Higashi Chaya District. Both of the guests were looking for plain sparkling water, and we were finally able to find some at a rest area in Kanazawa Castle. In the Higashi Chaya District, after I explained the streets as we walked around, it was time for lunch, so I introduced a Western-style restaurant. Since I had been told in advance that this tour did not include lunch, we parted ways here. One of the guests had a wonderful camera, and both of them seemed eager to take various photos of the scenery in Kanazawa.

I majored in civil engineering at a college and am interested in historical infrastructures. I have also guided foreign people around Ishikawa Prefecture, Toyama Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, and Fukui Prefecture as an international activity of an English circle. I was a volunteer interpreter at the training camp for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021.

Hokuriku region has a lot of sightseeing spots as follows, beautiful landscapes like Kenrokuen Garden and Tateyama, tasty food like traditional Kaga dishes and fresh seafood from Toyama Bay, traditional crafts like Kaga Yuzen dyeing, Takaoka copperware, and Inami woodcarving. I introduce these spots and historical infra tourism such as Kurobe dam and industrial tourism.

I also work as a translator. I translated the Japanese firefly squid tourism pamphlet into English in 2020.

Title: What's a First-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like from the Imperial Palace to Asakusa? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. Another member of the group was attending an academic conference in Asia and planned to join in Tokyo a few days later, after which the group would stay in Japan for a total of about two weeks, including Kyoto and Hiroshima. Having arrived the previous night, today was their first day of sightseeing in the city. Among the major attractions, I proposed an itinerary that included the guests' requested spots — the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower, and Asakusa — along with a ride on a water bus. Despite the heat, the guests walked energetically and were very pleased that we were able to visit many sightseeing spots.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like in the Summer Heat? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. This was their second visit to Kyoto for one of them, returning after a very long interval, while it was the first visit to Japan for the others. Because of scheduling difficulties, they had finally managed to arrange time off and came to Japan after visiting Bangkok in Southeast Asia. They remarked that they were surprised it was even hotter here than in Bangkok, yet they thoroughly enjoyed the garden at Tenryu-ji Temple, as well as the Golden Pavilion and its borrowed-scenery garden at Kinkaku-ji Temple. In the afternoon, because of the intense heat, they wished to return to their accommodation for a shower and some rest, so we headed straight back after Kinkaku-ji Temple. We exchanged smiles and handshakes in the lobby of the accommodation before saying goodbye.

What Is a Private Tokyo Highlights Tour Like with a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report I guided a private one-day Tokyo highlights tour for guests visiting from North America. Through advance communication, I received a request for a slower-paced walking tour covering the Tokyo highlights, as one of the guests had a knee injury, and I confirmed the itinerary again when we met. About fifty years ago, one of the guests had hosted an exchange student from Tokyo at their home, and the night before the tour they had reunited at the hotel for the first time in about fifty years. This was the group's first visit to Japan, but due to the heat, humidity, and the knee injury, they seemed a little tired after visiting Meiji Shrine. I showed them the Shibuya Scramble Crossing on the weekend, then changed the plan and headed to Asakusa. They were able to sit and rest on the train, and I guided them around Senso-ji Temple and the shopping street. Because it was extremely hot (and the injured knee, supported by a brace, was clearly causing discomfort), I took them to a soba restaurant behind Nakamise Street so they could have a light meal. After that, the walking pace became even slower. At the East Gardens, they sat on a bench in the Ninomaru Garden and quietly gazed at the grounds for a while. Although there were still thirty minutes left before the end of the tour, the guests wished to return directly to their hotel. I gave them a Tokyo Metro route map, sent a follow-up email carefully explaining how to get back to the hotel, guided them to the ticket gate at Otemachi Station on the Marunouchi Line, and we parted ways.

What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like in Summer? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visitors from North America who had recently graduated from university. They were bright and energetic, and we were able to enjoy the tour even in the intense heat. Perhaps because it was the last day of the Obon holiday period, the various sightseeing spots were relatively uncrowded and the roads within the city were also clear. Since they did not do much shopping and we had time to spare, we also extended our visit to Ryoanji Temple. However, they seemed a little tired from the heat. They had come from Osaka to Kyoto the previous day, and were planning to travel to Tokyo the day after next. Since they said they wanted to eat sushi in the evening, I pointed them toward Musashi, a popular conveyor-belt sushi restaurant.

What Is a Private Tsukiji Market Tour in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Europe. There was some concern about a typhoon, but the tour went ahead without any problems. They were a wonderful and very close-knit group, combining a bright, cheerful disposition with a precise and orderly character. One of the guests became very interested in the tuna auction and asked many questions. What I had learned in the training session in May proved extremely helpful. They appeared very satisfied. At the fish market in Tsukiji, they were also able to see tuna being cut up, which delighted them and made them feel lucky. They enjoyed several kinds of standing-style sashimi, finding them delicious. With smiles and words of thanks, we parted after I saw them off at Shiodome Station.

My name is Kris,
Before becoming a tour guide, I worked for a major steelmaking company as an engineer for many years. During my career, I lived and worked in both Germany and the United States for a total of five years. These experiences helped me understand different cultures and ways of thinking, which now helps me connect easily with guests from around the world.

After retirement, I chose a second career as a tour guide because I truly enjoy meeting people from different countries and sharing Japanese culture, history, and daily life. I have been working as a guide for more than nine years and continue to enjoy every tour.

I currently live in Tokyo, but I was born and raised in Kobe, near Osaka, and my family roots are in Kyoto. As a result, I have extensive knowledge not only of Tokyo but also of Kyoto, Osaka, and many other parts of Japan. I enjoy introducing both famous landmarks and hidden local gems that many visitors might otherwise miss.

I am energetic, friendly, and very sociable. I always try to create tours that are relaxed, flexible, and tailored to my guests’ interests.

Travel is one of my greatest passions, especially visiting hot spring resorts. I have visited more than 80 onsen destinations throughout Japan, giving me a deep appreciation of Japanese culture and regional traditions.

Whether you are visiting Japan for the first time or returning for another adventure, I would be delighted to help you discover the real Japan from a local perspective.

Meet at Osanbashi Pier at 11:00. Via Nihon-odori Station, Yokohama, and Kamakura to Hase Station. Great Buddha of Kamakura, Hase-dera Temple. After sightseeing and shopping, dine at the Japanese restaurant.
Return by the same route and disband at Nihon-odori Station at 5:40.

What Is a Private Kamakura Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Great Buddha and Hasedera Temple The guests were a very cheerful group visiting from North America. As the heat was quite intense, I made sure to find shady spots where we could sit and rest along the way. They were deeply impressed by the grandeur of the Great Buddha and the magnificence of Hasedera Temple. They also listened with great interest to my personal take on Shinto, Buddhism, and the lifestyle of Japanese people. At the Japanese restaurant they had requested, some of the guests enjoyed sake and the atmosphere became very lively, with pleasant conversation extending even to the guests at the neighboring table. For the next day, one group wished to try riding the Shinkansen, while the other group wanted to visit a ramen museum, so I introduced ideas for each before we parted ways.

What Can You See on a Private Kobe Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Nunobiki Herb Garden The tour was arranged for one guest of [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/), and the pace of the day was quite slow. The guest also seemed to find written English over email and messaging apps difficult, so confirming details took considerable time and was rather complex. The choice of places to visit changed several times, which caused a little confusion. The guest appeared very satisfied with the scenery at the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the Nunobiki Herb Garden. At the bridge, the guest purchased an octopus plush toy, and at the herb garden, the guest bought many herbs and soaps. In addition, at the herb garden the guest purchased a custom-blended room spray tailored to personal preference and seemed very pleased with it. Since the guest expressed a wish to visit places with many tourists, I guided them to Nankinmachi (Chinatown), which had not originally been part of the plan. The guest has been residing in the Kanto region for a few years for work and plans to stay for several more years, and expressed a wish to request a guide again in the future.

This is (Mr.) Yama, greeting from Kobe, Japan.
I would like to warmly welcome you to Japan this time. I am from the city of Kobe, which is of course, well-known for very tasty Kobe Beef . You can taste
real genuine Kobe Beef here. Kobe is also called “Home of Japanese Sake” with lots of Sake breweries, and I recommend you would visit those breweries
if you have any interest in Japanese Sake as well as one aspect of Japanese cultures. Of course, you can have tastings of various kinds of Sake there.

Whenever during the tour, I always try to make it safe, pleasant and comfortable for all of the guests, which is my first priority. I am very much confident
that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable experience in Japan. Just tell me about your preference; what you would like to like to see, have, know
and eat and so on. Particularly, I hold the license for cooking qualified by the government here and maybe, I can reply you for questions related to the
foods here. In this respect, I strongly recommend you would try not only famous Japanese cuisine such as Sushi, Tempura or Suki-yaki but some
Japanese traditional local foods, like Tako-yaki, Okonomi-yaki and Kushkatsu. They are sometimes called the soul foods of Japan. Here is the brief
explanation for these three foods.

1) Tako-yaki
Tako-yaki is a snack filled with pieces of octopus in a batter of flour , egg and soup stock. You can call them octopus dumplings or balls. “Tako” means
octopus and “yaki” means grilled or broiled.
2) Okonomi-yaki
This word Okonomi-yaki means “cook just as you like” and you can use whatever you like as toppings, such as beef, pork, shrimp, squid and octopus.
Okonomi-yaki is round shape and just like pancakes or pizza in shape mainly made from egg, flour and water.
3) Kushi-katsu
Kushi-katsu is skewered cutlet or deep-fried foods on a stick. “Kushi” means skewer and “katsu” means cutlet. Various kinds of foods are used for
ingredients such as beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus and lots of kinds of vegetables.

Actually, the western Japan including Osaka, Kobe and Himeji is called as “Home of such local soul foods”. You should give it a try and I am sure
that you like them very much.
