What Can You See on a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report After arriving at Tokyo Station, I explained the Meiji-era architectural style of Tokyo Station, and introduced Marunouchi, the financial district, and its origins. We then walked along Marunouchi Naka-dori and entered the East Gardens through the Otemon Gate. The guests were deeply impressed by the beauty of the gardens. After that, we took the Chiyoda Line to Gotokuji. The guests seemed to enjoy experiencing a typical Japanese residential neighborhood and shopping street up close. At Gotokuji, I explained the origin of the beckoning cat (maneki-neko), the importance of the Ii family, and the guests were delighted by the long-awaited cat figurines, taking many photos. We entered Meiji Shrine from Sangubashi, made a visit and drew omikuji fortunes, then had lunch on the terrace. The guests enjoyed casual dishes such as yakisoba and karaage, saying they were delicious. On Takeshita Street, one of the guests, a fan of a character franchise, bought five or six items, and on Cat Street bought another character item. Since the guests asked whether there was somewhere to see besides Shinjuku Golden Gai, we went from Meiji-jingumae to Daikanyama and visited the Asakura Residence. The guests were impressed by the traditional Japanese house and said they would recommend it to family members coming to Japan in the future. From Daikanyama we returned to Shinjuku 3-chome, where I gave a general explanation of the location of Golden Gai, and we parted ways. As it was the day after their arrival, the guests seemed a little tired, but they were pleased with the tour.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Yanaka in Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Since the entire itinerary was by taxi, there were no expenses to be reimbursed. The guests had arrived in Japan a week earlier from Oceania. After traveling through Nara and Kyoto, they returned to Tokyo the day before yesterday, and yesterday they visited Asakusa. At today's destination, Yanaka, the guests were deeply moved by the traditional streets and ordinary Japanese homes, saying they were "very beautiful." On "Hatsune Koji," a retro-filled alley near Yuyake Dandan, the guests listened intently to my explanation about Japanese snack bars and the noren curtains hanging in front of the shops. While one of the guests was busy taking photos to post on social media, the other spoke to me, saying, "Seeing the real scenery is so much better than a photo," and the guests exchanged smiles and put their arms around each other, clearly a very close and warm group.

What Is a Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Asakusa I guided the guests visiting Tokyo from North America. One of the guests had visited Japan more than ten years ago and had studied Japanese as a second language in high school, so they were able to read hiragana and katakana. The guests and I did a lot of walking, visiting Meiji Shrine and the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. While stopping by Tokyo Station, we also checked the shinkansen tickets. The ticket only required a QR code to board, but I wasn't sure how it worked, so I asked at the information center and ended up leading the guests back and forth, which I felt sorry about. Fortunately, the guests were kind and said it was fine since they now knew where the shinkansen platform was. After I guided them around Asakusa, the guests decided to stay a bit longer in the area, so I explained how to get back and said goodbye.

What Is a Private 2-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Tofuku-ji, and Shogunzuka For the second consecutive day, I guided a group from North America. We first visited Fushimi Inari Taisha and Tofuku-ji, both recommended by their friends. Since the guests were not fond of crowded tourist spots, we turned back at the entrance of the Senbon Torii. In contrast, Tofuku-ji was quiet and peaceful, and the guests were very pleased, becoming captivated by the garden of the abbot's quarters. In the afternoon, we had planned to visit Nijo Castle, but since crowds were expected, we cancelled it and I suggested Shogunzuka Seiryuden instead. The guests were delighted to see the panoramic view of the city of Kyoto and the Ao-Fudo. Afterwards, as planned, we visited the Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts, where they took their time enjoying the exhibits and shopping for souvenirs. Although it was a little early, the guests said they did not need a meal or a break and wanted to relax at their accommodation, so I saw them off at the Hotel and we parted ways. Over both days, the guests said they had been shown wonderful sightseeing spots and had a very enjoyable time.

What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were in good physical condition, so we were able to progress through the itinerary very smoothly. The weather was fine, but the temperature was quite high for the season, so I kept an eye on hydration and slowed the pace as we went. Since we traveled by train, I used the time in transit to explain the upcoming sites, making efficient use of our time. Even without necessarily matching the tour to a particular preference, I deliberately mixed in pop culture elements and combined them with shrines, temples, and gardens so that the experience would not become monotonous, and this seems to have been well received. Before entering Hamarikyu Gardens, I showed the overall layout from an upper floor of the Shiodome Sio-Site before we went in, which I think helped deepen their understanding.

Title: What's a Private Hiroshima Tour with a Licensed Guide Like? Itsukushima Shrine and Peace Park Report The guests were a group visiting from North America. We made a reservation at an okonomiyaki restaurant on the way to Itsukushima Shrine, and when we returned at the reserved time, the teppan grill had been set up as usual, and the guests enjoyed watching the cooking process. At the Peace Memorial Park, we also stopped by the memorial dedicated to the Korean victims of the atomic bomb and talked about many things. As the guests had grown up in North America and had no relatives to visit in Japan or elsewhere, when the conversation turned to the war they naturally spoke from their own perspective, which made it challenging at times to know how best to discuss the topic. During the journey, since we were all fans of Korean dramas, the conversation was lively as we talked about our favorite dramas and actors.

What Is an 8-Hour Private Nara Tour from Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report Although this was billed as an "8-hour Nara tour from Kyoto," because the plan was to go all the way to Nara, it turned into what was essentially an 8-hour Nara hike, walking almost the entire time. (Since a "Nara tour" is mostly walking to begin with, it might be better to rename it a "Nara hiking tour.") The guests were visitors from North America. They were very interested in history, Shinto, and Buddhism, and asked so many questions that there was hardly enough time to explain everything. In Naramachi, they also took an interest in the Chinese herbal medicine at a traditional shop and purchased some herbal throat lozenges.

Hello! Thank you for choosing Nara! I bet you’ll love Nara. I specialize in Nara because Nara is the unique place where in one day you can cover the history and religions of Japan from the ancient times to the post war era while enjoying rambling in the UNESCO World Heritage park, having communication with lovely deer, surrounded with the beautiful nature.
I grew up in Nara, went university in Kyoto, enjoyed teaching at high schools and a university in Osaka. The three former capitals of Japan are home to me.
After retiring from teaching I began guiding so that I can meet various people from various corners of the world with a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Each time I guide, I find it hugely rewarding because I learn a lot from my guests sharing the history, culture and all that I know about Nara, Kyoto and Osaka.
I used to be a marathon runner, mountain climber and skier though I am not much of them anymore.
What I especially recommend is to stay in Nara a couple of days and enjoy communicating with friendly deer while visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Nara in early morning, temples and shrines at night are well worth experiencing.

What Does a Private Day Trip from Osaka to Kyoto Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were a group visiting from Oceania. Since they had no specific requests for places they wanted to visit, we visited spots that many travelers hope to see, such as Kinkaku-ji and Arashiyama. Afterward, I had thought about stopping by Fushimi Inari before taking them to JR Kyoto Station. (The guests were staying at a hotel in Osaka and had come to Kyoto on a round-trip day tour.) In Arashiyama, they enjoyed the monkey park, savored a meal, and did some shopping, which took quite a bit of time, so afterward we returned to Kyoto Station and ended the tour. It was a delightful group, and I was happy to spend the day guiding them.

Hi, every one. How have you been? I am JGA tour guide Kazu. It is my great pleasure that I can introduce myself here. I am already more than 70 years old, but I believe I am still young both mentally and physically. I like walking with my customers very much. I am from Tokyo, but now

I live in Kyoto traditional city and an old capital of Japan. I had worked at electric manufacturing company for more than 40 years. While I was working at that company, fortunately I had a lot of chances to visit many foreign countries.

I lived in Singapore, Malaysia, Poland and Mexico. Also I visited America, Britain, and other countries. Basically I used English to proceed my job there, however I always tried to speak local languages as much as possible. Through staying other countries, I found that there were great differences of the culture or the way of thinking between those countries and Japan. I though I had a valuable experience. After I retired from the company 5 years ago, I began to work as a tour guide although I got the National English tour guide license 7 years ago. Besides English I speak Spanish but I don’t have Spanish tour guide license yet. I belong to the comany JGA and worked around 10 days a month. So far I accompanied with mu customers more than 100 groups. All of my tour was good and lucky as I was always favored with gentle and kind customers.

My hobby is playing the guitar, dancing and learning foreign languages. I sometimes join the concert by playing the guitar, and it is fun for me. Though I like dancing, I can not dance well. I only enjoy dancing here in Japan.

About the tour in Japan, I usually take my tourists to the famous spots in Kyoto like Kinkakuji, Kiyomizu dera, Fushimi inari, Gion area,Nishiki market and Arashiyama area. In Arashiyama area we often visit Bamboo forest,Nonomiya shrine,Togetsukyou bridge and Kimono forest. I will cope with my customers demands as much as possible so that I try to visit any places up to your requests.

I welcome a lot for your coming to Japan. and if possible I would like to help you to visit various kind of spots in Japan especially in Kyoto. JGA is very flexible company so that I have a confidence that you will be satisfied with our attitude and hospitality. I am glad that many of my customers told that it was so nice to travel around Japan. We will and I will expect you come down to Japan any time and we are ready to help your memorable trip in Japan. I can not wait!

    Tokyo Customized Half-Day Tour

    Tour Itinerary

    • Hotel (Hotel) 12:00 – Shinagawa Station (12:24) – Asakusa Station (12:47) – Sensoji Temple, Asakusa Shrine (14:20) – Daimon Station (14:35) – Zojoji Temple (15:00) – Old Shiba Rikyu Garden (15:45) – Shinagawa (16:10)

What Is a Private Tokyo Walking Tour of Asakusa and Zojoji Temple Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting from North America. They were very friendly and it was their first time in Japan, and in Asakusa they were curious about all kinds of things. They very much enjoyed everything they saw and heard, including religion (Shinto and Buddhism) and history (the Edo period). At Zojoji Temple, they listened intently to stories about its connection with the Tokugawa family, the Grant Pine, the tree planted by President Bush, the Jizo statues, and the Sangedatsumon Gate. At the Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Garden they were truly amazed by its beauty. It happened to be evening, and with a breeze picking up, our talk about the garden (its differences from Kyoto) and the rare tidal pond made for a wonderful conclusion. Unlike the previous day, it was a midsummer's day, and they walked a great deal in the heat. They were delighted, saying it had been a day full of learning and that they had a wonderful time, which made me happy too. Tomorrow they plan to visit Mount Fuji (unfortunately rain is forecast), and after that they will go on a cruise around Japan. I hope they have a wonderful trip.

    Hello, I’m Hizuru.
I have a passion for sharing my knowledge and love for Japan with visitors from all over the world.
After teaching English and Japanese to Elementary school and Junior high school students for about 15
years, I got the National License of Guide and Interpreter in 2014 which allowed me to officially guide
    tourists around Japan.
I have guided many tourists around Tokyo and its vicinities, helping them to discover the hidden gems of the
city and learn about its rich history and traditions.
Whether you’re interested in visiting historical landmarks, trying delicious Japanese cuisine, or experiencing
the vibrant pop culture scene, I can tailor a tour suit your interests.
My experience as a teacher greatly helped me in this role as I was able to efficiently communicate and engage
with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
I am dedicated to providing an unforgettable and insightful experience for all my guests.
I look forward to welcoming you to in and around Tokyo and sharing the wonders of Japan with you.

What Is a Full-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report The guests were visiting Japan for the first time. Since the destinations they had requested online before their trip covered almost everything, organizing the itinerary was quite a challenge. However, I wanted to accommodate as many of their wishes as possible, so I shortened the time spent at each location. As it was their first visit to Japan, everything they saw seemed fresh and exciting to them. On the metro, though, they were puzzled that tickets could not be purchased with a credit card, saying something like, "Japan is so advanced, so why not?" We were able to keep a good pace and cover many places. At the end, since they wanted to experience the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, we said our goodbyes there.

Thank you for your entry in this tour. Nice to meet you in this mail.
Your tour guide Kappa is my nickname. Kappa is a traditional, imaginary creature who came into being in Japan over 300 years ago. She is good at swimming, like me, for I like swimming. I would like to make our tour operated smoothly as Kappa does when she swims in the river or pond. It is my pleasure to introduce many aspects in our tour, especially cooking, for it is my hobby and I went to the professional cooking and SAKE school, respectively. If you have any questions or requests about Japanese cooking, of course our tour, I am very delighted to answer to you anytime!
